Anyone else in Bahrain using either SE 1.1 or 1.2 and trying to contact to Batelco? If so could you email me and share your experience (I can't even get a dialup Internet connection ).

First time I have posted although I have done quite a lot of reading today ............
I have just purchased a new i-mate. Previously I have owned iPAQ 2650 and 5555. I find the i-mate to be a very promising device.
One problem has manifested itself though. My cell supplier provided me an i-mate, not an O2 XDA II, but on the O2 network. When attempting to set up the GPRS I found it a bit tough going and called O2 support which informed me that the O2 XDA II had an essintial piece of software that enabled the owner to easily configure WAP and GPRS setting. Obviously my i-mate does not have that software and we proceded to configure manually. The O2 tech said that in the future I was likely to experience trouble with GPRS as a result of not having the configuration software.
I am having trouble already today by virtue of connection trouble and a reluctance to load web pages and my AOL.
I notice that O2 has a ROM upgrade on their site. Does anyone know what the result of me upgrading my i-mate with this software will be?
Has anyone else had any similar problems?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Wes
I have an XDAII which I have set up GPRS on both Vodafone and o2 in the UK. I have also set up an imate in the UK for Vodafone. I assume you should have no problem setting up a GPRS connection for o2. Check the forum for the GPRS settings for o2, and set up in Connections. The imate manual has instructions on how to do this. If you get stuck send a post.
Please help...
I have a xda2 running on a corporate Bes server everything on Mail side works perfectly only problem i have is getting internet access to work through the hidden apn on the blackberry service.
I have looked though all the posts and not found much about this..
My question is ... do vodafone (uk) have a proxy server address or is this a problem with my sim (gprs) ?
I can use the standrd Apn from vodafone which works but drops my blackberry service when it connects.... so if you want to browse the web you will lose your email until you stop browsing and stop start BB service... Any ideas ?
Rom Version : 2.02.t1WWE
Radio version : 1.18.00
Thanks guys !... Really impressed with this wicked forum...
We have over 300 standard blackberrys and 1 xda2 I need to show them the xda is the future ...
Any consolation that it does the same for O2
It is set up so that if you connect to the internet, it drops BB until the internet connection is released. You have a BB APN & an (ISP) Internet APN.
Are you running BES4 yet? I heard that it was going to be better for XDA2 but haven't seemed to get any benefits yet
Blackberry Client
BaZzA,
We have just started with Blackberry and users are being supplied with the Blackberry 7100 . I have an XDA 2 on Vodafone IRl and have been trying to set it up but the only client software I can find for it is the T-Mobile I found a link to on this forum . I've checked the Vodafone.ie web site but they don't seem to like XDA for some reason .Any idea where I might find a client that doesn't have German settings ????
Thanks ...
HW
Both the client and the application i used ...
you will need to get your vodafone sim enabled for use on the blackberry.net APN.... does work fine ... until i tried a new sim cant seem to unlock my Pin code from my bes server...now
But does work very well..
Oh ... Puff The Magic Wagon!
not running Bes 4.0 yet will do very soon .
Baz
Tks
Thanks BaZza,
I'll give it a go with an enabled SIM tomorrow..

Maybe somebody could help me to connect XDA IIs with Meteor SIM to GPRS internet (ISP).
Thank you.
same here...
meteor help line is no use at all! "we don't support phones which we don't sell" what da hell? leave alone windows mobile devices - the never heard about them..
they got me really pissed off, so I rang them every day, until some superviser told me that he personally (!) will contact Qtek manufacturers and get the instruction on how to set up ISP GPRS manually... well we'll see
any updates I will post here
p.s. i have qtek s200 btw
OK I am guessing neither of you even attempted to google for meteor gprs settings, because the very first result gives you the wap, mms, and internet settings you need.
So my question is ..... I have been using the [email protected] settings for a couple weeks for my internet settings. But starting a week ago I can no longer use those settings for the internet. Im stuck having to use the [email protected] settings. Has anyone else had this problem?
hi there,
i've not been able to use the gprs/mobile internet with my new tytn11. i use aljawal service in saudi arabia, i have contacted them-they say they have no support or settings for htc, i also contacted cellucom where i purchased the phone and they are of no help. there must be a way around this, i know the proxy server address so, why won;t it work? can someone plz help me?
thanks alot
anne
p.,s. i once saw (forgot where now) on your site, someone sent configuration settings gprs for mobiley in ksa, therefore i had hope tht he or someone else can help me with aljawal/tytn11
Hi annyksa,
Im not an owner of a TyTNII (yet) but this might be of some help. I have a i-mate Jamin and have been using aljawal's gprs service for awhile now. Around Febuary this year it stopped working, I could connect to the gprs but not to the internet. I use the manual settings to set up my gprs, seeing aljawal does not support auto setup for HTC. It took me 2 months and countless hard resets to find what settings would work. I turned off the proxy (proxy.jawalnet.com.sa) and changed the gprs authentication from Pap to Chap. so even if aljawal had setup instructions for the TyTnII, it would probably be wrong. Good luck and let me know if you get it working, im not going to upgrade from my Jamin to a TytnII with no gprs
You may try this .....it may work
