Does anyone have the regular PocketPC 2002 PW10A2 ROMS???? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Hi Guys,
I got my second hand Pocket PC 2002 at a sale - the only problem was that the OS was in German - and Ic bin nein Berliner (I am not a German) so I wanted to see if i could do something about it.
And that is when i stumbled across you guys. I only have the Dummy SD card - and hence cannot back up my existing OS onto it. I was wondering it there is available anywhere - backed up OSes of a Pocket PC 2002 PW10A2. This is most urgent - you can message me at [email protected] - i am ONLINE right now ... 0125 hrs IST (GMT +0530hrs)
Thanking you,
T

I don't know what that 'PW10A2' version is, but I could give u 3.17 English version

He/she ended up using the XDA-Dev SER 1.2 as I suggested and that did the trick.

How to tell if WM 2003 is installed?

I just got my MDA II after having problems with my SX56...
The MDA II was flashed with an 02 ROM: 1.60.00 WWE dated 12/03/03 with extended ROM version 1.60.50.
What I'm trying to figure out is if this is Windows 2003 or not. Under the 'About' it says Microsoft Pocket PC Version 4.20.0 (Build 13252).
Can anyone help or direct me to where i can find out - -such a simple thing but I can't seem to find an answer.
Thanks in advance,
no xda2 have ever had 2002 on it
apart from that version 3 is 2002
and version 4 is 2003
So sweet... thanks!
One quick and dirty method of telling the difference between 2002 and 2003 - go to calendar - got to any view except week view -
2002 The days of the week at the top of the screen are all black
2003 the sunday is red and the saturday is blue and the rest are black!

Upgrade XDA II / i-Mate Pocket PC / 2020 from 2003 to 2005

Hi there guys
Is there any way that you can upgrade from Windows Mobile 2003 to Windows Mobile 2005?
I have a i-Mate Pocket PC / XDA II. Here in South Africa no-one can help you with that. They can't even tell you if it is possible. Even the guys specialising in the i-Mate phones/PDA's don't have a clue.
They don't even know how to upgrade from 2003 to 2003SE. They can't even help me with that.
Please help.
Thanks guys
a quick look around the forum goes a long way
2005 http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18584
2003SE http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16916
Thats the problem. The links are there and you can go and read alot about it, but if you click on a link to download a file and it doesn't work it's not that nice.
I am not that clued up when it comes to PDA's. I would like to go somewhere where I can get the file, run the setup and everything works fine.
Hi, Piesang.
Used the Diamond 1.2 pack WM2003SE upgrade (need to search for the link in this forum) and used the original ext ROM from iMate. Worked first time. Been running it for over a month now, and very happy with it. Only issue picked up so far is that you can't sync via bluetooth, but still works via the cradle.
ROM version : 2.06.00WWE
ROM date: 06/14/04
Radio version: 1.180.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.72.800

Pls help NEWBIE @ work

hi guys just got mine siemens sx56 known as wallaby
i would like to upgrade it windows on it and softwear as well
when i turn on the phone gives me this
ROGERS
in the bottom right corner it says
g1.3.3
ra33 .03
r30.07
what does all that mean?
like i said i'm very new to this site and would like to get a step by step from some of you more experianced people
i found out that my pocket pc is ver. 4.20 (build 14053)
1996 - 2003 copy right
what windows is in this ? cause i can't play any MIDI files as ringtones
thank you for your pationts with a new comer like me
There are not many ROMs that are newer than yours, so i would stay at your current ROM....
For adding Polyphone Ringtone support try adding the content of the ZIP-File in your Windows directory on your device.....
Stefan
hi thx for the reply but as me i went ahead and upgraded it to win 2003 se ... but now the battery life on that is so low
what do u recomend me do now?
Visit http://www.romkitchen.de/ , cook your own ROM (i would suggest 4.01.12 ENG) with some application included and be happy....
WM 2003 SE is not very workingfriendly, cause it has some bugs in the Wallaby version....
Stefan
thank u very much for ur help
but as for Poly ringtones ... i still can't get the phone to play *.midi or mid files ... any sugestions?
or even set them as ring tones ... i have to convert the midi files to wav and that takes up alot of space

mp3 ringtone

Hi there. Can somebody tell me how to convert my wallaby(02 xda) to be using mp3 ringtones when a call comes in.
This will be highly appreciated. The windows default tone is really freaking me out.
if you use a wm2003 or wm2003SE rom you can use WMA
2002 dont support anything but wav and mid
RE Help

Am already working on it. But i have a question. At the site, it asked ' Select which ROM Version do you want to cook?' am i choosing ppc 2002?
Sorry for the bother, cos am quite new in this and can easilly pull it through.
Can i have a step to step instruction on how to go about it? I will really appreciate it. And also, is the upgrading not dangerous?
Am still here though and waiting.

Planet 3 Free Windows Live Messenger Problems

Planet 3 Free Windows Live Messenger Problems
Hello all. Any chance of some help & guidance here please
OK, here goes:
Orange SPV M3100 Hermes/TYTN - unlocked OK,supercid,hard SPL7 all OK
Upgraded to a cooked WM6.1 rom from WM5 OK
Three.co.uk have planet 3 which contains a free windows live messenger option, but only for their locked phones.
On this froum there is a link from earlier this year to a Nokia N95 spoof cab, which i have installed, pointed it at the right planet 3 page, and this appeared OK.
At this point I have a problem.
You are directed to download windows live messenger -this downloads a small file SA_Download.jad which has no application associated with it
3 also now have TYTN II within their range, so i tried without the N95 spoof installed. This failed with a message to the effect of there is no version for your phone. what i could do with i think, though i can't figure out how/where, is idiot guide instructions (or some very nice kind person to create a cab 'cos im a thicko) to spoof the phone as a TYTN II , or some advice as to where I'm going wrong I've looked long and hard already, honest!
many thanks in anticipation
Gonk.

A Jad file is merely an info file for a Jar (Java) file that runs with a Midlet Manager. The Jar file must be present, it's the one with the actual application in it. ie all Jads have a Jar associated with them, not all Jar files have a subsidiary Jad file with extra info.
I appreciate this does not really help you get the appropriate Jar file - just info really.

Hi,
was this ever sorted out?
im interested to get this working
there is now a windows live messenger for the hermes just search the threads
my kaiser actually has the Live Messenger in it, but im just trying to access the right app to use the 'free Messenger' on 3.
I too would be interested if anyone has resolved this. 3 offer free Windows Live Messenger but only if you use their client (which handily isnt provided for WM). Using the standard WM Client for WinMo devices incurs a charge.
Check out my post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4415022&postcount=7
To be honest I haven't used it for a while, but it did work when I made the comment. I prefer to use my data allowance with the official client. Version 10.7 works just fine, and only uses a tiny amount of data.
