Anybody can help me to upgrade PPC 2003, I got the problem during installation. Before upgrading my conection on XDA always failed. I check the HTC USB on my PC (control panel>system>hardware) the version not compatible with Activesync 3.7. Please help me how to change USB script/ programe on my XDA can be compatible with Activesync 3.7.
Existing HTC USB on my XDA now is 1.01.01 seems like the old one.

There is no usb driver, just install activesync on your pc then plug in the xda to usb, it will find it and should work right away, you can download activesync for free from this link.

hi i am currently upgrading my xda II to wm2005...just want to know if i can use activesync 3.8 on wm2005 or do i need to upgrade to activesync 4??....thanks in advance

downloaded activesync 4 build 4343.....xda 2 wont connect to my pc.....i have win xp sp2.....its just keeps connecting and nothing happens

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
I brought the o2 Xda Mini S yesterday, and have just got round to installing it. I have come up against a problem as I plug in to my pc, as I plug in the usb it does the usual "Found new Hardware" but I cannot locate the driver "Generic RDNIS" does anybody know where I can download this driver????

do you have activesync installed? normaly activesync installs this driver when a pocketpc with wm5 is connected.

Yeah I do ( 3.8 ), cannot use 4.1 as I need to update my pc to install that, and windows updates ruins some of my applications.

Hi - I think you we struggle to connect a WM05 PPC if you do not install the latest activsync (4.1). My Mini S would not even connect reliably with the software that came with the device (O2 XDA - the disc has ActivSync 4.0!!!) as soon as I upgraded to 4.1 it's much more relible, not perfect! and certainly not as good a my back up device - HP2210 running WM2003 this device never failed to connect with 3.8.
Sorry but I think you will need to update your PC somehow.
Unless anyone knows a trick to get around this problem. :?

It won't work with 3.x, you need 4.1 installed.
I flashed my 8525 with the dopod wm6 rom and i was able to sync my ppc but somehow now im unable to sync with my win xp PC. Already tried on 3 different computers with at least 4 different USB cables, all of them with a fresh install of active sync 4.5 and they all detect my ppc as HTC USB Sync under Windows CE USB Devices at the Device Manager but active sync doesn't connect. USB to PC connectivity is unmarked, ActiveSync in ppc is set at Syncronize using " `usb " .
Im not sure if the " ` " has to be there or not but im guessing thats one of the problems with the configuration, tried going to the registry and edit it to just USB but then it doesn't show the USB option in the ppc.
The that i used was the official "838Pro_HK_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070712".

I am using iPAQ612 with somehow I can connect iPAQ612 with any computer with the ActiveSync. It was working smoothly and I haven't connect with ActiveSync for longtime. Couple days ago I was trying to upgrade new ROM and connect with the ActiveSync I found this problem.
I have tried many ways of solving this issue but still not make it solved.
These are what I have tried.
1. I have tried to reinstall ActiveSync and install New ActiveSync4.5
2. I have tried to install new windowsxp on new harddisk and install activeSync4.5
3. I have checked on Setting System "USB to PC" both checked and unchecked
4 I have tried to connect with VISTA and install Windows Mobile Device Center
5. I have tried to unchecked Power / USB Charging
All above I tried T_T still unsolved my problem
Any suggestion can help I'm very welcome.... and thanks in advance.
PS. Can anyone Dump original ROM WM6.0 for me I'm thinking to take iPAQ612 to HP Center but I have to change my rom to original version
otherwise the warranty will cancel.

Hi,
What ROM are you using now ? Normally, if you install AS 4.5, it will wait for a PPC to connect and then make a new profile etc. Unless something went wrong with your ROM-update.
