Autoconfig for O2 Germany Loop: access point should be "pinternet.interkom.de" instead of "internet". For the rest the settings worked fine for me.
Hi there, I also have the same problem. I found that the Autoconfig does not work for me (and I am the person who provide you a registry of AIS-Thailand). The GPRS dialing pattern should be +0~GRPS!internet, but it has only been configured only +0. Maybe I sent you somehow not complete registry file. I don't think it is a problem because I had never used the Autoconfig before (you can say it is very minor bug).

I created settings for Czech - Eurotel to AutoConfig, but when I tried in SE ROM 1.2 I discovered that connection setting are not correctly created. There is created name of connection, but modem is set to "Cellular Line" and not to correct "Cellular Line (GPRS)" and GPRS APN is missing too.
Next problem is that Short date don't have correct format, and currency symbol is incorrect too.
I tried other autoconfig settings, like Czech-Tmobile or AustriaOne and I thing that there are the same problems.
Is it possible that there is needed more registry keys to setup everything correctly?

Yes, this is well-possible, since others have reported similar problems with their providers. Needs looking into...
It appears this nice device (or at least all of WM5 devices) are not yet enough considered from SP as I cannot find any setup and/or settings for MMS and WEB connection settings anywhere...
www.clubimate.com only supply any kind of settings for any other SP but VODAFONE ITALY...
Their support (I-Mate) is also not present (I even tried calling them while in Dubai with no luck).
At VODAFONE Customer Service there are only chances to use the automated answering system or the website and again no one of them considers WM5 devices...
ANY HINT ???
With manual settings I entered I can do MMS -OR- WEB but I cannot get it configured to "automagically" use one of the two when needed. I always have to manually switch between them... :-(
Again: ANY HINT ???
Thanks a lot.
Hi Michele,
I am Italian too. Why do you switch them manually? In Connections/Advanced, the default connection should be not be the MMS one, but the internet one (APN: web.omnitel.it). The one used for MMS will be defined here but NOT selected as default. This needs to be indicated in MMS configuration in the Messaging application.
The problem that I have (with a Worldwide English K-Jam) is that I just can't make MMS work. I have tried all settings based on Vodafone Italy indications, but no joy.
Would you tell me your detailed settings to make it work?
Thanks.
Massimo
..
Thanks for this!
This is however not suitable for me, as I live in two countries (UK and Italy), and I do not want to hard reset just to fix my Italian MMS settings.
Would you be able to just give me your Voda IT MMS settings?
What I have done is:
1) Created a new connection with APN = mms.vodafone.it (everything else is default)
2) Created a new set of MMS settings in the MMS application, with:
Gateway = 10.128.224.10
Server = http://mms.vodafone.it/servlets/mms
Port number = 80
Connect via = the above created connection
WAP version = with this I am unsure, I tried both settings, but no joy.
With these settings, the phone tries to send or retrieve MMS's, correctly connecting to the APN and exchanging data. However I always get a vague error message in the end.
Can you let me know what you have done differently?
Thanks.
..
Many thanks for this!
I modified the config based on your comments. At a later stage I also went into the registry and manually modified some settings that looked different in your list. Still no joy!!!
I am particularly puzzled by the Profile parameter, pointing to an XML file in a website. You claim this is very important. The default one points to a different XML file.
Question: how would the messaging application use this info? I mean, it is not possible to go out to the web using the MMS APN, so how is this Profile URL used?
I also tried to soft reset after changing that, still no joy....
..
..
Thanks for your great help.
Just to clarify, I normally live in the UK, but in this period I am in Italy, this is why I am configuring MMS on my Italian SIM card from Vodafone Italy.
And I've got very good news: everything now works!
I am not really sure how, I simply reset everything back to my original config, doing a few soft resets in between, and now I can send and receive MMS's.
By the way, that IP must only be used in the Gateway field in MMS configuration. Using it as the IP in the connection panel makes it impossible for the phone to connect to the APN (which is logical).
Again thanks for your help.
Since i updated to the new Qtek 2.17.7.2 WWE ROM my Wizard seems to be convinced that i'm connected to Proximus BE network instead of T-Mobile NL network. Now i'm quite sure my Wizard hasn't got enough power to reach Belgium from where i live so i must be connected to the T-Mobile network. Also when i search for networks from the phone settings i also get to see the T-Mobile network instead of Proximus.
Does anybody know what the problem could be and where i can change the name of the network?
Besides that little but annoying problem the ROM seems a huge improvement.
Thanks,
Chris
There is a registry key that allows you to show any text in the dialer based on the network id's.
Use a registry editor to search for the text you see (literally).
Simply remove the key and the dialer should show the text that is sent over the network.
If you cant find the text in registry . . . .no clue
(I once posted a reply on a thread in the Himalaya section on this)
I thought it interesting that the QTek rom told me I was connected to "Get More..." when every other ROM I've used all tell me I'm connected to "T-Mobile". At least they both reference the same company!
I just thought of another way you could see another network in the dialer as the network name youre really connected to.
In the \windows folder there can be a carrielogo.gif file.
If it exists (and it does on T-Mobile roms) you will never see the actual network name in the dialer but the contents of the carrierlogo.gif file (which is obviously a logo of the operator that distributed the rom).
there are threads on this to find but basically you can only do one thing here: copy the carrierlogo.gif file (using totalcommander) to you PC, erase the contents (or put in your own picture) and copy it back (ignore the rom file warning).
afaik the Qtek and iMate roms do not have a carrierlogo.gif file.
T-Mobile roms do have one, not sure about O2 or Vodafone.
I found exactly one reference to the Proximus string in the State part of the registry. After i changed it to T-Mobile all the screens showed T-Mobile, but after a reset or a reconnect to the GSM network it changes back to Proximus. Really weird because the scan network screen shows the correct name after scanning. Strange bug, but i seem to be the only one that has got it. Oh well, that's life (with software).
Signed_GPRS-stall_Wizard_TMOUS_DEC20.CAB
On mine through a process of elimination I determined that the T-Mobile customization file: Signed_GPRS-stall_Wizard_TMOUS_DEC20.CAB was causing the wrong carrier to show up.
Ok here goes: I have unlocked an Orange SPV M600 (Prophet) and use it on the UK o2 network. It has original AKU2.0 as it is still under warranty by HTC.
Everything works fine except the MMS pictures are tiny thumbnails. If I set not to download automatically then I see the message (on the server?) at full size, it is only when I click download that it is shrunk, e.g. last night a picture was showing as 16k and when I hit download it arrived and was 3k - so too small to be of any value.
I have checked settings, including installing the o2 settings cab on the wiki (Lordsmiff...). This sets up mobileweb, and put some strange settings for MMS, not the o2 setting listed for manual input. The wiki o2 cab installs amongst other things the wrong server address (vpix or something similar!) . These setting do not work at all (I've tried). When I manually enter the settings (correct server etc) it works, but MMS are shrunk to 3k all the time.
I've tweaked the registry as per the wiki entry for prophet, but this really relates to send size and means I can set to 250k (previously unable to select this option), and tried all the settings like Original size, QVGA, etc. Still no luck.
I've also found a thread on here reporting similar problems in the USA with Cingular, and a cab to fix problem. I installed and then manually entered o2 setting, but again no luck.
One thing I'm puzzled about is when putting in MMS settings I have to say which service to use to download - the gudiance on here says select "O2 MMS" - but this is never on the drop down list. I have to select either O2 active or mobile web, or something else on the list and regardless they all exhibit the same behaviour - a 3k MMS picture!
I'm tearing my hair out, and if I don't get help soon will have none left!
Can anybody point me in the direction (or send) of a cab with the correct o2 MMS settings as the one on the wiki is corrupt (I've used the cab and the exe through activesync).
Other ideas and registry tweaks welcome. Or just sympathy from others with the same problem....
PS I emailed o2 and they said go to o2 shop, so I did and they said "ring customer support".
Update: put the spanish vodafone settings on a different wm phone last night and it too has the vpix settings in MMS. Is this just a setting that users are expected to manually input?
Come on, somebody must know the answer....?
Hello,
I have a problem with my P3600. I need to use a proxy-setting when I connect to my office network via WiFi. I have the necessary data (i.e. IP address and port number) and it works flawlessly on my old HTC Wizard. However, on my new P3600 the http proxy data keep disappearing each time I leave the settings and connect to the network. The connection is apparently fine but I cannot get any data through.
Regardless how I enter the data, they are gone the next time I check. By the way, it appears that (at least under some circumstances) the SOCKs proxy data are remembered!???
I have tried all combinations of settings I can think of and I am slowly suspecting that something is wrong with the phone. Nevertheless, I've noticed that other people have had similar problems. Unfortunately I've seen no solution yet.
At home, where I use no proxy, everything works fine.
I assume that the P3600 simply "forgets" (doesn't save and doesn't use) the http proxy data and that this is the reason for my problems. But why does that happen? As said, it works well on my old HTC Wizard when I enter the same data in the same places.
This problem is highly annoying, so any help would be highly appreciated.
Fyi, I am using the generic German version HTC P3600 in German language.
Hi,
am I really the only one in here having this problem? Someone here claims, it is a known bug: http://www.mobileplanet.com/ft.aspx?k=99497&page=1
Is it likely that the problem will be solved if I flash a WM6?
Anyway, isn't there a kind of work-around for this problem in WM5/P3600? If people can port and cook a WM6 from another device and do complicated programs etc., I would assume that fixing the proxy-problem with some sort of patch should be relatively easy. But of course, if one doesn't have the problem himself, one doesn't have much motivation to look at it (I am not complaining, but unfortunately I neither have the time nor the skills for solving the problem myself).

And the same here, with the original HTC asia rom. Not solution found...
A big problem for me
In my company, we use proxy , I can´t use my super P3600 because it don´t remenber the Proxy. Incredible!!
WM5 Spanis version.
There are some one with WM6 that can confirm if it works with that version.?
Thanks
There is a solution -Kinda!
I have found that if there are two networks, ie one for your GPRS and the second for your "My Work Network" then it remembers your proxy settings This is as close as I have got to a solution.
Cheers
The problem has been SOLVED!
Dear all,
As pointed out above, it appears that the Trinity cannot save/use http proxy data as long as there is no other connection defined. I can now confirm that if you define (even a fake) connection to, say, a GPRS provider, the P3600 will remember your proxy data in the WiFi setting. Weird, but it works ;-)
Thank you so much for this hint.
Best regards,

Found another solution
Hi,
I tried the solution proposed, creating a fake connection, and sometimes it worked, but others no.
I have found what happens: Activesync changes one registry key, the corresponding to the Work connection via http, in my case:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{EF097F4C-DC4B-4c98-8FF6-AEF805DC0E8E}\HTTP-{18AD9FBD-F716-ACB6-FD8A-1965DB95B814}]
"Type"=dword:00000001
from 1 to 0, and with this value the PDA doesn't read correctly another value:
"Proxy"="my.proxy.server:3128"
although it is correctly informed.
The solution I have implemented is to execute a script (made with SKschema, which I use for another automatisations), that changes this value after a sync has been finished. This is automatically done creating a notification with Memmaid.
Now after the first unsuccessfull sync, the key is updated and it works like a charm.
You DID it!
I could confirmed that by changing the type from 0 to 1 did the trick as mentioned by Rodaldfa! It works immediately after modification! Type=0 means "disable this proxy" and Type=1 means "Http proxy".
However, I don't think it's Activesync which reset this value to 0. I had done various times of AS after setting the Type=1 with regedit, and it always maintain Type=1. But if I enter then exit the comm manager, it resets the Type=0 on exit.
The procedure is to set all proxy info (include passwd...) then exit Comm Manager (CM), then use any regedit to modify the Type value. Then NEVER go back to CM afterward...
Thus, I suggest modify type to 1 then avoid entering CM. AS works just fine for me...
I am using HTC Tytn II (Kaiser) with WM 6.0 in Traditional Chinese.
