Hi guys
After a few times reading for 3-4h I think I have understood the main things about changing the ROM on o2-Orbit. But I didn't get one thing - is the phone locked (CID) for changing the original rom with a not certified one, or it is locked for every kind of switching.
I'm asking this, because I got my phone in German, and I wonder if I could get an original English o2 ROM and put it on my phone. I think this should not be a problem, eh ? I really do not need any thing more than having a descent English interface, cuz my German is ... Oh my sweet ... i do not know if there is someone less knowing that language
Do u know (if the above is true) where can I get original English o2 rom, and if I do so, is there any HOW TO for doing the switch ?
And please, if my treat is a already discussed one, do not hesitate to erase it from the face of the "mother" forum .

if you really would have read all the threads you would have known lol but your device can be CID-unlocked at imei-check.co.uk , but why would you want to do that?
edit: I see you have vodafone ROM right?
I believe vodafone also released a ROM... check the threads again..

I've read almost all threads in here and have only found out how to CID unlock without IMEI-CHECK... But no sim-unlock
If you do know how to sim-unlock without imei-check, please tell us...

I read evry single days this site and i know there is a imei check,but im not stupid to put my card number on internet just to by a imei check unlock code nop not me dude but thanks, to your question (( wy world i whant to do that?? ))) just tell me 1 thing what are you doing here?? just cheking others post or working?? i just whant to unlock it and thats it you have to know if you know how just say you know a free soft if you dont whant to say thats fine i respect that to but dont joke with ppl who works all day on this ,and more iff you had read good my question you see that i ask FREE SOFTWARE FREE FREE FREE do you know what that means???? :-D What about those of us with USA phones and services? I just looked through the last few forum pages and didnt see anything on unlocking...

My Herald came with Vodafone dutch WM5 and I tried to install the official HTC WM6 Dutch Rom but it wouldn't work.
Now I have unlocked my Herald with imei-check.co.uk
I admit, I wasn't sure at first but I decided to take the risk.
You pay with Paypal so that's pretty safe.
imei-check.co.uk has a policy where they want id proof for first time buyers, so I sent a scan of my dutch driving license. I got my unlock code a few hours later and it worked great. Very easy and quick.
CID and SIM unlock.
I have installed the dutch WM6 rom from HTC with another SIM card and all works great.
Well, finally I get my device running up again! Unfortunately I wont publish it, maybe I will charge for total solution.

Device OS recover 100%, Phone part recovered too.
Dont know If unlocks too bcoz my bricked device was unlocked state. Anyone that wants to send me a locked Herald (to test if unlocks too), would be really appreciated.

I bricked mine and have just ubricked it. Its easy, connect USB to PC, enter bootloader, run any RUU wizard.
* Enter bootloader - Press and hold the camera key, then press the soft reset button. Hold the camera button until the bootloader menu shows it. You will see 3 different gradient colors.

I think, it's a good idea. Actually I thought about something like your thread but if you don't mind I will say something in your thread.
I've got the same problem as you've got. Moreover, I've seen a lot of users posting on this forum, which have got such a problem with their Heralds. They boot only in tri-color bootloader mode and even RUU dedicated to our models doesn't work, saying Error 300. When we are trying to use MTTY to run getdevinfo command, as a result we can see error message. That's why RUU can't check the right CID in our devices.
All known solution for Heralds don't work with our problem. We should develop or wait for being developed by someone (Olipro,pof,mestrini,...) suitable solution. There are fine solutions for bricked Wizard or Hermes so it should be the way to unlock our Heralds, too.
My idea is to count all users with bricked Heralds to see the size of the problem and to show our great developers on this forum that it is important to find a way to unbrick our Heralds. Or maybe we should establish the prize for the person who will be the first in finding the unbricking method and than donate him? I think it could motivate some of them...
So, all bricked Herald's users, please leave your post in this thread, to show the world that this is a huge problem!

I was thinking in something.. Do u remember PDAVIET first version for Prophet? You cannot flash PDAVIET WM6 directly.. U have to flash a special PDAVIET WM5 to prophet first, then PDAVIET WM6. And... when u got a bricked prophet device, the solution is...? PDAVIET WM5 special rom

Forced RUU? I know that the Univesal has an RUU to bypasses any and all checks and just starts flashing the ROM. I wonder if this would help... I assume the IPL is still fine unless it was overwritten in your devices because it's in a different memory address in devices with an SPL lower than 4.0.0.0. We would have to create our own RUU, though.
EDIT: After some research, this will not work. If the radio was damaged but the radio bootloader was not, there might still be hope, if the radio bootloader was damaged, then it's a no go.
Ive tried with Bepe's RUU (Polaris Premium BEPE ROM) but have no luck... maybe i should try to patch IPL/SPL in RUU check

no bro, i just not find some support on the members. none of the mods has been presented a "suggestion" to fix our devices. Ive talked with OliPro, seems he have a solution for that, but he's working hard on it. Maybe he can provide some solution for us

最近发现一个问题，如果手机经常在开机状态下拨电池，可能会导致开机时出现NO GSM这个问题，导致无法使用sim卡，在不刷radio版本的情况下，刷os完成重启后会停顿在进入系统前的画面，也就是无法像平常那样设置再进入系统。所以，经验证拨电池是有可能使硬件的驱动程序或者硬件损坏的，故请爱惜机子，不要经常在开机状态下拨电池。
如果硬启后，仍然出现NO GSM这个画面，重刷系统则也不能解决问题（当然不拔除一部分机可以）。这时候，不要紧张，慢慢分析。 在选择刷os时，可以优先考虑官方版的rom，无线版本选择稳定版的。
如果硬启和重刷os都无法解决问题，那么出现的情况可能有两种：一是。radio驱动程序被损坏了，这种情况你很幸运，可以通过直接重刷radio解决问题。二是，在重刷radio，或者是降spl等方法再刷radio和os等都不能解决问题，这时候，问题严重了，在非HTC BOOTLOADER版本为0182的情况下，说明机子百分之九十九的可能是字库坏了，这时候极有可能是要换字库了，价格不菲。在出现No GSM的情况下，不要着急，不要直接拨电池，因为对硬件伤害实在太大了，本人就是由于之前系统用的是oko7.3这一版本，运行比较慢，有时候导致死机，经常拨电池后导致了NO GSM这一问题出现，后来通过重刷radio解决了问题。当一个radio版本不行的时候，再试过其他的，找稳定的版本刷，如果可以，建议把os再刷一次，这样开机后系统性能可能会好一些，当然要找稳定一些的os。
最后提醒：强烈建议全部都用卡刷，这样保险，只要可以进入三色屏就可以刷了。
本人机子是黑色日版X01HT，radio升级从1.16直接到1.56.70.11，由于经常在开机状态下直接拨电池，导致了No GSM的情况出现，后来又重刷radio1.56.70.11，问题解决。感觉信号也比较稳定。

If you cann't read it ,no problem,there must be many fans write an article of the problem of ‘No GSM' when you start your phone ,and it cannot read the sim card or utms card at all.
When the problem came to me this mornig,I was worried wether I can fix it noly via flashing the edition of radio.However ,at last ,luckly, it works again.It is the problem of software, not hardware.
Does it only happen on the mechine of Softbank X01HT? I just want to know something about that.

im a novice with this "smartphone fever". i had a nokia 7500 for 4 years so... ya know XD.
Im posting this, cuz i really want to update my rom version. I've been reading the threads on several foruums 'bout this topic, but i didn't find any answer. So, i fear to lose the operator's services, o sim incompatibility if the update go wrong.
There isn't any posible legal or official update cuz in this hellhole country (venezuela) the technology & updates on this devices are very few, (most are in blackberry platforms). I know there's an update to WM6.5 in some countries, but here is not the case. so, chaging my rom version will affect the operator configuration o the sim configuration?
Sorry if there's any phrase written in Indian english, my englis is not so correct .
