Hey guys,
iam needing to use my XDA in 2 countries, both with local providers, however i have contacted the providers of each country and they have been unable to help me with the internet/GPRS settings i need. I would be very grateful if somebody could help me with this or point me in the right direction.
The networks are as follows:
Istanbul/Turkey- Turkcell
Romania - Connex Kamarad

to anyone that reasure me,
the best option for me seems to be to buy a new O2 XDA and unlock it, in order to allow it to accept a Greek GPRS enable sim-card. am i on the right track? or does the subscriber need to be to be on of the ones listed on the XDA developers Special EditionROM v1.2 report, e.g. Austria, Germany and so on. or are these just the countries that the Developers had information on at the time that they developed the software? if so will i have to configure my Greek GPRS settings on my own and is this difficult? i know i have aske loads of questions but i hope someone will be able to answer them thanks a million in advance.

I have the same problems. Nobody in Spain knows how to set my o2 to work in the Internet using GPRS. I asked the providers by their ****ing short number (It was vodafone) But There are no any specialists at this country. They can do NOTHING. They do not know anything. I asked everybody at different provider´s offices but I haven´t had the right answers. HELP ME PLEASE to SET MY O2 TO WORK WITH INTERNET IN MADRID.
They gave me different variants of "access point name", username, password and so on. But no one of their settings work. I´m ready to change my provider, that vodafon. I´m ready to do everything to get right settings to get to the internet. Help me please. I can not live without my mobility.
If you find settings please, please*100,..., please, please send me them

i have a o2 ORBIT which is unlocked and now i am using my UK vodafone pay as you go simcard, i am hoping there is someone with the great knowledge, who can inform me step by step how to enter MMS and GPRS settings on my new phone!!

do you need the grps and mms settings for Vodafone Australia?
If yes, just go to: http://wireless.vodafone.com.au/phonefirst.aspx?m=live
selelect your o2 from the drop down menu and follow the instructions.

i saw ppl looking for the the GPRS settings.. of different carriers..
i was facing the same problem.. and after some googling.. i got this page.
Download a wizard which lets you install connection settings for your device (Web, WAP, MMS) for a selection of mobile operators.
UK operators [O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone...]
France [SFR, Orange, Bouygues...]
Germany [O2, T-mobile, E-plus, Vodafone...]
Italy [Vodafone, Wind, TIM, 3]
Spain [Movistar, Orange, Vodafone]
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland

i know it shows a different phone.. but it does work with wizard atleast.. i am sure i will work with any ppc by HTC.
At the bottom of the page.. clicl download under Network setting wizard section.. Just tick the check box on the next page and select your country from the list.. it will give you a exe file.. run it ...and you are ready to go online...
IT WILL HAVE THE SETTINGS FOR MOST OF THE CARRIER ON THE SELECTED COUNTRY.
it worked for me.. hope this will help you guys as well..

One odd thing is that after installing this update i could not make any USB connections any more. I am working on it.

Well i don;t think it has got anything to do with USB..
as its just create a dialup setting. i never faced any problem so far.. i use this everytime i load a new rom.. and i have always been successful..

The only difference I could discover is the portnumber choosen in the account.
It's now 5080, was 9201. (orange NL)
But finally working!!

If you are in the UK and use "3" http://three.co.uk/personal/index.omp on your Hermes/SPV M3100, could you let me know what are the settings to connect to the internet are please?
I have a "3" pay-as-you-go simcard and have accidentally erased these settings (can't get on the internet now) - and their support say they don't know what they are, as this phone isn't one that they support (although they were the ones who did give me these settings in the first place!).

Well - after an hour of messing around, I finally managed to get these settings correct! I have internet on my Touch - yippee!

Sure. Here are the settings that work for me:
"Enter a name for the connection":
3
"Select a modem":
Cellular line (GPRS, 3G)
(tap on "Next" - bottom right)
"Access point name:"
three.co.uk
(tap on "Next" - bottom right)
(Leave all boxes blank - tap "Advanced")
"Use server-assigned IP address" should be checked (all other boxes leave blank)
(tap "ok" on top right)
(tap "finish" - bottom right)
also if you sign up on e club on the htc.com website and look at the different phone software on there there is a cab file that will install all your settings for any provider. rather good if you change roms and dont want to keep putting all the info above in

Thanks for the info. I joined up and have been trying, without success, to find this cab file! The site doesn't seem to have a "search" feature.
