I want to upgrade the radio stack on my US T-Mobile PPC which is currently using the 6.18 stack, but I haven't heard much conversation regarding if it's possible to go backwards and I don't want to permanently mess up my U.S. T-Mobile XDA in case I ever need some warranty repair or the 6.24 stack gets messed, etc.
Has anyone tried this successfully?
Unless you need the alway-on GPRS I'd keep 6.18 stack.
Because downgrading the radio stack is a pain and is next to impossible, but it can be done. I did it once for a friend but it took me nearly 6 hours.
Thanks
Thanks Qman- I think I'll just leave it well enough alone.
Where can I find Radia stack?
My T-MOBILE is not working, I'm receiving GSM ERROR. Where can I find Radio Stack
Can you recall what radio stack version you were running before you stated getting the GSM error? If not where are you located and what network are you using, that info. would help in locating the proper radio stack.

Not possible to downgrade your Radio Stack at this time as far as I am aware.

Im just wondering if anyone has what i believe is the latest radio stack from tmobile 6.28 if anyone has it could you email me the file or let me know where i can download it?
Thanks
I think the latest radio stack from O2, the 4.21 breaks GPRS for T-Mobile users (As it uses class 8 connection maybe (?).
The one that my XDA came with was 4.01... I don't suppose anyone has a link to this version? Or even links to other versions LOWER than 4.21 that I can try?
I have already managed to downgrade it to 3.23.00 so I can 'upgrade' to a newer version that works.
Thanks.
Anyone have an ideas, or is anyone here on T-Mobile UK? If so what Radio stack version are you using?
I guess I just really need to know if my GPRS is dead and will never work again (But calls are fine, so can this be true?).
Thanks.
Can anyone help me? I'd like to downgrade the Radio version on my P3300. Due to a bluetooth problem in WM6 see thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353071, my carkit won't recognise my connection on the Artemis.
Maybe, by downgrading the Radio version to a WM5 version, I'd might solve the problem?!
Is there someone out there who can provide me a 'old' version?
Fred
Older radio-versions can be found here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_RadioUpgrades (listed from oldest to newest). Radio 02.98.90 works fine for me, I had some issues with 03.07.90 on battery use. You can just try it out, doesnt need a hard reset.
what are the radio upgrades good for anyways? i still dont know it.

Like in a Desktop PC you can run different Versions of OSs (Windows XP\Vista, Linux, Mac) and still change Firmware Versions of Hardware Components (Disk Drive, WLAN Chip, Soundcard) indipendently.
The Radio ROM Only affects the Radio Unit of a device, maybe affecting the battery duration time or increasing Call Quality or whatever has to do with the radio part of a phone. However it is independend from the OS.
if i try one of those radio upgrades, would it affect (for example) the SDHC patch i installed on my phone (P3300 wm6)?
any info page/link on what exactly each release of radio upgrades improves, and a how-to to install it?
