I want to have my T-Mobile MDA in english, T-Mobile said, they won't sell it in english on the german market. I've phoned to T-Mobile UK, there the MDA will be launched in about two months (I would like to have it before).
At T-Mobile CZ the device is sold with a english system, patched to several languages.
At the T-Mobile US's website I've downloaded an update, this didn't work, 'cause it didn't recocnize my ROM-version.
In the whole internet I couln't find any place to download or to buy.

Hey Speedfreak.
You can try the Rom from O2 Ireland.
But you have to configure you're Phone Settings (GPRS, ....) manually.
Or you can try to find a other thread here in the forum ROM Updates.
Since the MDA and the XDA are the same it works with the O2 ROM.
BUt you have to do some tricks to change the language.
Spent some time in the forum, use the search button and you'll get the instructions how to do....

I just bought from Internet with eBay a second hand XDA from Germany and I'm italian. All the O2 rom upgrading instructions say: "This software must only be used to upgrade devices sold by O2 UK or it’s partners" I'm using Vodafone Italy and Gprs Can I upgrade this stuff with this Rom Upgrade?
Again .... shall I choose the language or maybe when I get the xda I will get it in german and cannot switch at least to english?
I understand these are boring infos for someone but very helpfull to me

If you're happy with a ROM in English, just download the XDA-developers Special Edition ROM v1.1 from here or here, run the exe, and you're all set.
Someone can help me and other users to change T-Mobile ROM to have our MDA Compact with italian language...

the procedure is the same as for English JAM Rom
The first time I tried upgrade, procedure halted just after my OK to begin upgrading... and my MDA halted on SERIAL/USB screen after each reset... I was going to die, but I tried once more and everything worked fine! about 20 minutes and I was ready with ITalian MDACompact
of course I will be not responsable for what will happen to your mda, but I wish you to have a happy upgrade!
Have you noticed any improvement in sound quality?
Our pourpose is to have Magician with italian language.
Some of us have a MDA Compact, that doesn't have sounds quality problems.
That's ok...
Because some ROM give to Magician (eg. I-Mate ROM or O2 ROM) a bad songs quality, we should be sure about not compromising our sounds quality.
About sound quality... I still have to do some tests in some places but it seems it's better than audio I had with T-Mobile English ROM.

who can explain in a detailed way ( and simple words...) how to upgrade a MDA coming from T-mobile ( with English language ) into a full MDA with italina language ??

Download the Italian ROM from link reported on:

Then follow exactly the procedure reported here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=79192#79192
Since you already have installed English T-Mobile ROM, you don't need to change anything from that procedure, even if your rom is Italian version instead of English one.
If you need more help I can send you the procedure written in Italian, I do not post it here because I don't know if it's ok to post in different language than English.

I'm waiting for an MDA t.mobile GEr (just curious to know where YOu all,italian friends,bought yours...),and i'm planning tto upgrade to best rom around....thta,seems to be the italian imate one...on the same side of t-mobile WWE.
Here are my 2 quests:
with my actual XDA (ver II,02) I edited,op and languages via ER2003,does it works even with compact roms???More..Does your italian rom works with BT headset and GPS?

hi, i'll post you later the link where you can download the actuall german MDA Coampact III ROM.
so you can download the latest german ROM for your MDA Compact III when you follw these advisories:
go on the xda-developers ftp server -> Uploads -> Upload -> MDA Compact III -> MDA Compact III German.exe
so download this file an connect your MDA with your PC and run the update.

Hi, but I dont find any thing for MDA compact III T-mobile Germny,I have a problem with my MDA, und i want to upgrade the ROM, but i have a NETLOCK , I can only go to the RUU, all of software applicaions did not work, after 2% the MDA make a reset.
I need really a help! what can I do?

hi new frieds got myself a new Tmobile MDA PRO i'm proud of it i already have the Qtek 9100 but i was wondering how can i change my germen language (bought it there) to an Dutch or or English (i prefer dutch) language? can anyone help me?

The easiest way, i think, is to get a ROM of a dutch distributor of your MDA. If you can't find anyone maybe there's a Languagepack for it... I don't know about that... this is the forum for the HTC Magican, also known as T-Mobile MDA Compact (and other names). If you realy want good support, please go to the forum of your MDA!

hi there, sorry for language failures im from germany...
last week ive bought a htc p4350 device and want to use it with my vodafone card, but i cant use vodafone live nor mms. ive read in some googel links that the htc herald and vpa c. 4 are the same devices. do you know where i can get the right vodafone settings.cab for my device. i cant find it on the vodafone homepage, only a pdf file which describes how to configure it manually but those settings wont work with the htc version...
