It's in the play store now but graphics don't look this God unless you grab the files from a shield device. Sad thing is my note 3 doesn't play the ultra setting as well as this tegra 3 device does.. I'm going to tweak somethings to try to make it play better but damn I thought 3gb ram and a snapdragon 800 would play this with no problems

Just figured I'd save everyone some frustration when it comes to Dead Trigger 2. Unfortunately since it's not available on Google Play even with the xposed mod, it has to be sideloaded from another Android device. A tegra based device specifically. But even then the apk will refuse to install. After taking a look at the apk's androidmanifest.xml file I found it requires the Google Maps system library. After editing these permissions out and repacking the apk it installed fine and the game works perfectly. As with the original Dead Trigger you'll need a keyboard in order to properly map the controls on first run.

Finally got around to adding in the OUYA cover image and coding. It installs right over the first version I made.

You need to use a regular USB keyboard, not a wireless one, and press "enter" on the numpad on the far right of the keyboard. That will get you past the main menu, once you have started playing the first level press "esc" then use the keyboard's arrow keys and the "enter" button again to navigate the options menu so you can remap the controls for the OUYA.

well it sorta worked lol, needs some more modding to work without needing a hardwired keyboard.I did run into where after you do the tutorial missions It asked to give it a username and password. I typed in my username just fine but for some reason when it goes to password i cant type anything in...even with the wired keyboard plugged in, same issue as before I can click on anything nor type anything in....>_> ill stick to the first dead trigger since it lets me SHOOT MY OWN GUN lol instead of this auto fire crap.
Don't give up so easily. Many of the issues you've run into have been well documented and solved on a thread in the unofficial OUYA forums.
http://ouyaforum.com/showthread.php?7314-Dead-Trigger-2
Also, you can enable manual fire in the options menu.
The bug you are running into is one I am familiar with. Uninstalling and re-installing the apk causes this strange bug where it won't allow you to put your username in even with the usb keyboard. The only solution i've found to get around that is Dead Trigger 2 does recognize the MOGA series of controllers for that menu, allowing you to click on and enter your user information. Here's how I explained it in the OUYA forums thread.
LightyKD and patrickjd2000, i've figured out a work around for your situation. I encountered the exact same thing myself and after trying everything I could think of I used a Moga controller since Dead Trigger 2 was optimized for it and it brought up the text entry box whenever I clicked on it. The game is looking for specific keybindings for that text box thing which is weird. I guess worse comes to worst you could go buy a moga controller at walmart and then return it immediately afterwards.
One important thing I should mention, is if you have it installed and it's working fine, DO NOT uninstall, use directory bind, or mess with the apk in anyway. This will cause the bug that LightyKD, patrickjd2000, and myself encountered and you will need a moga controller to get it working.

It's far from perfect, but once you deal with the controller bindings and load a cloudsave past the tutorials Dead Trigger 2 is completely playable. I'm almost at the end of the Africa campaign myself.
I got the game running just fine.
Only issues I've got is how to pick up items that are ready from the middle table.
Also, how to use the health boost (cross under the gun icon top right on screen) while playing.
Play it more on my nexus 7 atm. because of this.
zurien,
In regards to picking up items from the table, there are two ways to do it. Once you've unlocked all the shops and the table gets upgraded to 6 squares instead of the initial 3, then you'll be able to select items from the table using the controller.
Personally what I do is use the same account as my Nexus 7 and pick up the items on there then load up the game on my OUYA. Kind of a pain but it works well enough due to everything going through the cloud.
Also for health boost, I just assigned the Item 1 button to d-pad up and item 2 to d-pad down. D-pad up lets me use the health boost. Can't seem to find a button binding for item 3 though.
I may look at fixing some of these issues in future updates but no promises, i've been trying to learn enough about Unity3D to get Deadzone working as well and it's absolutely exhausting.
Thanks for the reply.
Will test binding to the dpad.
Also play a bit more
Can I ask how did you add it to the play section?

Sure! Look about halfway down the page on here where it says "Developing with the ODK" https://devs.ouya.tv/developers/docs/setup
updated to app version v0.02.2 and changed cover image.
if you're updating from a previous version the apk will install over either of the previous versions, and you will also need to use the new obb file included in v3
it work fine some bugs here and there but nothing so important...sometimes i get stuck after selected an item on the table and cursor disappear...but i restart the game and it work again

Not sure if this is even the right place to post this.
but i wanted to share a program I was recently introduced to.
Free PTT for any Windows mobile phone.
Works with;
mobile to mobile
mobile to pc
pc to pc
Uses wifi and data.
And it even chirps just like nextel

we have set up a support forum for this over at www.skinzone.org
and the support team at loudtalks is keeping an eye on it.
now this is still in beta, but works damn good for just beta.

Does the person on the other end need LoudTalk loaded as well. Do you have to have a PTT button or can i map to another button.

yes. No button mapping needed.. PTT button is a software button on program.
Likin it! Thanks Volt
I also can verify that it is working nicely, a few glitches to work out all in good time. I used HButton to remap the program so when minimized it comes up, then on my wizard I use the center on the d pad and hold while I talk then release. Just like nextel, bit slower but free, what can I say! You have to (sender and receiver) both be set up on the system to communicate but that doesn't take too long to get set up. Put the word out and we can all help work out the kinks so this system can run smoothly. Remeber before you lauch you must already be connected to the internet. Andason is also correct, if you leave it open then you would not have to do any mapping at all as the program uses the select button on your phone. If it is a different button on your phone it will not be difficult to find by trial and error. Remapping isn't that difficult and HButton is a free program, works great...................Later.
Hey Voltage?
Hey Voltage do you know how a person with a touch screen only (no hardware buttons) can utilize this great software. Is there an issue because of the lack of a default hardware button to access?
hey wanted to just re-post that the developers are watching

There is a new release of the program here, many bugs have been addressed. If you are an existing user of "LoudTalks" then after loading the cab when the box comes up to enter new usernames and password just hit cancel in the botom right corner and then the boxes for existing users comes up. Enter in your username and password and you will be up and running.

That depends on a few things, but assuming its the same as the Galaxy then IIRC you will not be able to use a random bluetooth keyboard. However, that doesn't mean it is not hackable, and particularly the Cyanogen project gives hull bluetooth HID support. Currently we're still waiting for it on the galaxy, but it is in the works, and it shouldn't take much to get from galaxy to tab.
The problem I see is that without the dock-keyboard, you need something to hold the tab near vertically to really use a keyboard properlly, so just a random bt keyboard wouldn't seem to offer a great amount even if they do get it to work.

Yes, they do exist, although they are more on the scale of a laptop keyboard rather than a full desktop one. Some even come with a touch pad.
You're best bet will be to wait a little after release and see if the USB host and BT stuff appear quickly. I imagine there won't be too much of a wait to see what happens, and if thats the only way you'd wanna use it, then its definitely better to be certain.

For my galaxy tab, I'm using my old Think Outside Slim Bluetooth keyboard. To connect it, I downloaded the Bluekeyboard JP from the Market. However now, I find the Swype absolutely amazing so I use this now most of the time. Just a little practice and Swype is very fast to use.
I use my old iGO bluetooth keyboard that I got a few years back. It synced easily, the Tab prompted me to type in a five digit number on the BT keyboard and hit enter, that's it, so I imagine ANY bluetooth keyboard will sync up in the same exact manner.

I use the apple keyboard without any problem. BTW if you are rooted you can assign many of shortcuts that comes with the Samsung dock keyboard also to a bluetooth keyboard.
Just move all the files out of the /system/usr/keylayout folder *except* for the qwerty.kl file. Now open the qwerty.kl file and assign commands from the p1-keyboard.kl to keycombinations like shift left arrow etc. (In the qwerty.kl file you can also assign alternative commands to the tab buttons)
I plan to make an app for this later.
EDIT: btw be careful with this. If you assign commands that can't be recognized none of your keys will work and you will have to push the keylayout files with adb (under su r/w permission) or reflash your firmware.
Today i tried to pair my Tab with this keyboard, workes without problems :

Some people reporting having difficult installing Thumb Keyboard on the Kindle Fire, but I was desperate to get it to work and I finally did! This is how I did it, it's not very complicated. Like everything, this assumes that you have root access.
I used aruangra's very helpful instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364543
1. Install Nook Color Tools http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868366 in order to switch keyboard (as Amazon removed that option)
2. Install Thumb Keyboard, but no need to launch
3. Use ES file explore (with Root feature and RW mount enabled in the advanced setting) or use Root Explorer to copy the keyboard .apk file from /data/app to /system/app
4. Make sure that the permissions for the apk in /system/app is Read/Write for owner, and it's "Read only" for everyone else
5. Copy the file in /data/data/com.beansoft.keyboardplus/lib/ to /system/lib (thanks Jmalto) or it could be located in /data/data/com.beansoft.keyboardplus/com.beansoft.keyboardplus/lib/ (thanks toonakan)
6. Reboot device
7. Launch Nook Color and you should see the following. If you don't see this. You did something wrong... sorry try starting over

8. It is now installed! Enjoy! You now have a split keyboard on the Kindle Fire!
You can follow the similar steps to get SwiftKey Tablet X working. Except for step 5, copy the file from /data/data/com.touchtype.swiftkey.tablet.full/lib (or something similar). Otherwise, the steps are pretty much the same.
I followed instructions to the letter. Launched Nookcolor tools selected choose keyboard and it showed Thumb Keyboard as an option but it FCs. I tried moving vs. copying in your instructions and it still FC'd. Did you use NookColor .1 or .2? I used .2 and moved into system/app as recommended in the instructions.
--Update: /data/data/com.beansoft.keyboardplus/lib/ was actually /data/data/com.beansoft.keyboardplus/com.beansoft.keyboardplus/lib/ in my version 4.3.4
Thanks for the post! I am super excited to have this keyboard.
No problem! I'm glad that it worked
nook Color app critical? Normally I just long press a typable area and it pops up the keyboard choices.
Also tablet X worked for me without moving any lib files around.
I don't think that you need to use Nook Color, you can do as you say and long press any text input and choose your input method there. I got the keyboard to work with Nook Color, so that's just how I happen to described the steps.
Thank you, was missing my thumb keyboard.
I'm curious what the thumb keyboard looks like in portrait mode? I use that about 60% of the time.
Image of Thumb Keyboard Portrait on Kindle Fire
Bought the program... works pretty good. Image include of portrait mode.
One minor gripe is the minimize feature... If you press and hold the configuration key, you can then slide over and minimize the keyboard. Would be nice to have minimize as the default rather than configure but I don't see how to do that.
An alternative is that is is supposed to minimize if you swipe down, however I can't get that to work. Swiping up, brings up the configuration menu's though.

Nice summary but one Minor nit...
I'd read this thread on my Transformer and came back once I had my Fire in hand to find it again. I'd already added a few keyboards but remembered the mention of the NookColor Tools apk and that sounded much handier than editing the settings.db or trying to get a long click to take in a text entry field to change the keyboard. But when I did a search on the forum I couldn't find this thread because item 1) in the directions forgot the word "Tools" when describing the app.

Any way to keep the menu bar visible while using SwiftKey (or any of the other keyboards). I only tried SwiftKey.
Great job with everyone for getting alternate keyboards working. Has anyone tried getting Swype onto the Fire? I've been using Swype on my phone for so long now that I can't go back to regular keyboards (tried both STX and TK).

How do you uninstall keyboards? I downloaded a version of swiftkey tablet x that doesn't minimize when I swipe down.
I can confirm this process works with Google PinYin inputmethod 1.4
Addition steps to get Google PinYin working.
First, I used a sideloaded app from a HTC Sensation
I installed the app from my sdcard and it installed in /data/app called com.google.android.inputmethod.pinyin-1.apk and I copied to /system/app then set the correct permissions.
copy both files located in /data/data/com.google.android.inputmethod.pinyin/lib/ to /system/lib/

Trouble Minimizing Swiftkey Keyboard?
For what it's worth, (and you'll see similar frustrations in other threads), the problems with minimizing the Swiftkey keyboard seem to be resolved by using the phone version, rather than Swiftkey Tablet X. And while that solves one problem another arises: once you've installed both or either via the helpful guide at the beginning of this thread, their icons disappear from the Apps Carousel. (Well, mine did.) You can still open them by going through the market, which isn't great but at least works. Anyway, hope that helps. If anyone has any idea why their icons disappear, I'd love to hear.
Works However
Works however, on every reboot I have to reinstall the keyboards otherwise they force close. Is this how it is or there's a solution?
The mad catz mojo is a powerfull little beast really even now it has a bit of kick for a tv box, the graphics are very good as are all tegra chips for each era. I got around to flashing the custom rom to mine of cyanogenmod 12.1 unofficial and before that clearly rooted and flashed a recovery twrp 2.8.2.0.
Any way here are some findings I had while playing since yesterday
Cons
1. The inbuilt browser works well until at some awkward moments cripples up and falls over, but when working 98% of the time is great, it can be remedied easily with alternate browsers none of which I have tried yet.
2. Screen recorders Just don't function on the mojo generaly being denied install or just plain don't work the choice is minimalistic at best.
3. Once you have flased this you can't go bck without an official rom backup before flashing
4. I have what I now called the blink of death in this rom twice now, once from installing legit screen recording software and secondly from trying root cleaner, what happens here is that it begins flashing on the screen and bizzare pop up messages about closed services appear, this was nothing to do with ay recognized ult here justmaybe chnges in bacground functions or file system that caused an irrevertable loop of blinkmessage blink itermitant screen with the pop ups, also at that stage trying to do a factory reset is futile, what I did was end up clicking in settings which ran well some options so I chose backup reset and then tried erase everything it went into the splash screen for the twrp menu and blinked like the desktop within android was doing, so I simply reflashed just the recovery then wiped and reinstalled the rom from a sd card and back to fresh os it was. In the time inside the os before fthe blink of death lol I basically changed the launcher at one point it kept stable for a while all activities and function enabled, so after a fresh recovery and rom flash I then added the Launcher<3 from the play store immediately and ever since it's perfect in the no blink of death senario.
UPDATE TO BLINK OF DEATH NEW FIX
So far this is working as a fix as the blink of death came back turn off google app otherwise known as google search in settings/apps click google and then disable and leave it this way prevents so far this problem for me using it a full day without the return of the endless blink of death!
5. There is serious incompatability with the controller with this mad catz mojo android console unit although a lot work a lot don't making the amount of general controller supported games that should normaly be working from the google play store reduce compared to increase with what it should work with especially as mad catz make peripherals and had done for ages before making the mojo very confusing why it's not spot on for compatability there???
The silver lining gaming wise with the custom cm12.1 is the ability to install miles more games than before shame only a fraction work with this system and controller combo though [email protected] mapping it's some laborious [email protected] and quite technical for a none user or newbie. But if anyone wants to add to this later a really layman easy guide to mapping on android for various controllers please do so as it's none existent on youtube where it laymans that.
PRO'S
1. Stylish sleek and pretty rapid when in full working state
2. Way more play store compatability
3. Found a screen recorder that actually works below:
http://www.scr-screen-recorder.com/
you should use v1.0.5
Set the settings from the same as in the images below:

}
4. The GL to SD app still works with this custom firmware so you can transfer at least some games to an external usb hard drive but not all work that way.
5. You can install ouya everywhere on your cm12.1 mojo just download the ouya everywhere 4 apks from this thread page https://forum.xda-developers.com/ouya/general/sideload-ouya-store-android-device-t2812860/page6 and install them 1 by one in your ouya, afterwards reboot and a pop up message asking which launcher to use appears,.
Click the trbouchet launcher and choose allways, from now on click the ouya icon orange ouya shortcut to run ouya everwhere like on the custom rom, first time use requires either account setup for free choose skip if not using a credit card or payment option. And your in ouya back just like before.
6. This custom firmware is pre-rooted and is a flashable zip for use in twrp
And my final verdict 7.7 out of 10 on this rom had it had added usb app installing added some how maybe higher, but generaly better than being lumbered with stock 4.2.2 jelly bean yuck that jelly bean is one old sweet lol. It was probably the right flavor once lmfao.
While I'm glad that Samsung has decided by themselves that my games need to run in fullscreen, I have text and buttons scrolling off the screen I can barely get to, or can't read at all because of this. How do I disable this and get my games back? When I go into the display settings, the apps are greyed out and do not give me an option to shut this off.

Hey there,
Another way to disable fullscreen is to press the all apps button in the nav bar and then that small black button you can see in the screenshot. That disable fullscreen for me. But keep in mind that there are apps that automatically change to fullscreen because they are optimized for that.
Hppe that helped you out.
Which games do you mean especially?
Then i could try it myself

Sorry, I tried to attach a screenshot last night and I don't know why it didn't work. I shall try again here, but when I choose the All Apps sort, I have no black button anywhere except the bottom left of the screen which hides the navigation bar from the settings screen, but does nothing for my games. Also, yes, as you mentioned, this is one of those games that Samsung wants to say is "optimized" and disables the option for me to turn it off. Been playing this game for about a year(?) and this did not happen until about a week ago. WWE Champions is the name. You can see the titles in each section being cropped off and you kind of make out a button to the right of "Expedition", or "Xpedition" on my screen that is almost completely hidden.

Ok i have the same pronlem with the game.
I forgot to attach the screenshot in my first response.
I'll attach it now that you know what i actually meant.
You could try to contact the support and tell them the game is not correvtly sized.
If you are rooted you can try to edit your screen resolution so that the game could(don't know if that would even works)
Sorry i couldn't help more
I appreciate the help, but, yeah, I have had complaints about Samsung's Game Tools ever since I've owned this phone and this will likely be my last Samsung phone if I can help it. Was so much happier with my old Nexus 6P stock Android.
Hey, I have the exact same problem.
I've updated to Android 9 with my S9+ Yesterday and then I found out that the WWE SuperCard game is stretched because of this problem. The system thinks it's optimized for the screen but it isn't.
Is there any solution for this problem?
Android 9 sucks! Trash ! Rubbish !
Prefer 8.1 Oreo
I think it primarily turned out to be a developer issue. Their code was causing it to look bad until they patched it. I gave up on the game eventually, but I also ditched my S8+. Went with the Pixel 3 XL and couldn't be happier.
So, did it get solved??
I have the same problem with WOT Blitz. I cannot play the game anymore. Since updating to Android 9, the system says the game is optimised for full screen, which it is not, so I cannot see the entire screen and buttons moved to the side. Did anyone find a solution in the end?
Like I just mentioned before, it's very likely a developer issue versus the phone. They will likely have to release a patch, but I just got tired of dealing with it. Have had zero problems with the Pixel 3 XL and never going back to Samsung.
Yes!!! Away with spamsung from the earth!!!
Spammy should be banne, ssued and shut down by now!!!
