General Seeking Help for fixing vmware tools in Android x86_64 images - Windows 10, 8, 7, XP etc.

Hello Friends~!
I decided to play with some forks of android and chrome os in vmware this week, it was a lot of fun!
A problem I would like to create a solution for, is the inability for vmware tools to install natively.
Here is a toolset I prepared called "droidvmtools" DOWNLOAD
I was able to create this toolset based off of the prelGlibc25 Linux iso that came with VMWare, that is stored in Windows in this directory:

"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If you care about the extra steps added to "droidvmtools" I tried to document that process HERE
This exercise is performed using this Prebuilt copy of PrimeOS for VMWare DOWNLOAD
In theory, this method should work on other android images with root access, then likely fail as this example does at the end.
INSTALLATION:
Obtaining the perl binaries:
In termux run the command
Code:
pkg install perl
Then in Root Explorer, go to
Code:
/data/data/com.termux/files/usr/bin
and copy the perl binaries.
Now paste the binaries to:
Code:
/system/bin
To install the Toolset:
Extract droidvmtools and paste it to the root file system. The video goes over this step at 2:34 if you need reference. ( I also used my yt channel to easily dl the tools youtube.com/@jennn/about the tools are there if no usb)
Open a terminal emulator and type:
Code:
su
chmod 777 -R /droidvmtools
Then in Root Explorer, open droidvmtools, select all, copy, and then paste the contents to the root file system
You will be prompted with this message, select these options:
Now when you type:
Code:
perl run.pl
The tools are able to start installation but they crash at this part:
This is the part I am stuck on. I had never heard of recursion until this happened..
Here is a PASTEBIN dump of the code, maybe someone is able to look and see why this would be happening?
This thread is in preparation for a megathread I want to make. If you want to preview some of the images early see HERE
PLEASE NOTE:
I Understand that "Vmware Tools is not supported" in Linux let alone Android, blah blah. Let's try!
I also already know about and have tried every emulator in existence... So Please! Let's refrain from "just use x emulator", this is about problem solving.

[Guide] Noobs To Change The Clock & Notification Colour in StatusBar

While I was searching for how to change the clock & notification colour in statusbar
there i got so many guide with lot of way....
I tried them tooo...
But soory to say that very few of them works for mee...actualy
those guide support few devices not for all...
Then one of my friend(Abhishek Kumar Singh) gave me a guide which is a perfect one..
but there also few changes to be done......as the guide is totally messed..
so Here I am going to make a guide for all those who want to change there clock & notification colour.
Requirements:-
1)ColorChange.jarv3.1 [Download]
2)Rootes Android Phone
3)Sdk Installed
4)Little knowedge on Messing with Cmd
Processsss/Working:-
1)Plug in your phone( make sure that usb debugging is ticked on)(Dont't mount the sdcard)
2) open command prompt from Pc..(To open=> click start->run->type cmd->ok)
3) Navigate to the android sdk platform tools folder..
4) Type this commands:
adb remount
adb pull /system/framework/services.jar services.jar
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk framework-res.apk
5)Now extract the colorChangev3.7z & paste the extracted file colorChangev3.jar in platform tools folder
6)Now make a folder called 'framework' inside Platform tools folder & move the services.jar into that folder
7)Create a zip file of the framework folder and name it theme.zip
(steps 7 & 8 shuld be done correctly or u will get errors)
8)Type this commands....
java -Xmx512M -jar colorChangev3.jar theme.zip clock=FFb4ff00 date=FFffffff
(definetly 'FFb4ff00' denotes the clock colour & 'ffffffff' denotes the date colour)
9) When its done it will leave a theme-new.zip in platform tools folder,take the new service.jar file out
& put that in platform tools folder.
10) Its almost done....Now you can take the new services.jar make flashable zip & flash...If you don't know how to make flashable zip then do this.
11) Type this command in already opened cmd
Commands:
adb remount
adb push services.jar /system/framework/
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb shell reboot
That's all you are done now.......:good:
One think you should note that you shouldn't get any error while following this whole process otherwise it will not wrk....
Basically this above process doesn't harm your mobile...But if anything wrong happend with you..Then you can't blame me..

Most likely
You probably need to install the VirtualBox Addon package for linux.
Before installing the Guest Additions, you will have to prepare your guest system for building external kernel modules:
sudo apt-get install dkms
Insert the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso CD file into your Linux guest's virtual CD-ROM drive - so mount the ISO for the guest additions (it can be found in the VirtualBox installation directory)
Change to the directory where your CD-ROM drive is mounted and execute as root:
sh ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run

I cant enter Terminal! What do I do now?
The basic problem is that I can't run Ubuntu UI! I can only login thru console!

Install apps over ADB
Install apks on any Android device running any Android version over ADB!
Hi all,
From a long time i was fiddling around with a problem of installing/downloading apps after installing a new ROM.
Thus i came up with an idea of a Batch File to install all of your apks from your system
to your phone in a few tips and taps. Hah! Found my solution .
How does it look?
To see some screenshots, please click below.
Tested on
The script had been tested on Nexus 5x, Nexus 5, Moto G4 but should work on any android device.
Downloads
Google Drive - Here is the link to Drive.
Link Below - You can also find the file below.
Installation instructions
Prerequisites
1. Platform Tools for Windows (ADB),
2. APK files,
3. Target phone connected to PC and
4. A cup of COFFEE or TEA as you like it.
Process
1. Download it from the attachments below or from the drive link above or here.
2. Copy the file to the ADB folder.
3. Execute the file.
4. You can either place your apps in "D:\Apps" folder. (Sllloooowwwww.....)
ORChange the folder location in batch file itself. (Requires some Coding Skills)
ORBatch file will ask you to change the location, if required. (Easy Installation, Pick Me!)
Troubleshooting
I don't think it's needed. But even then if you get any problem do write. I'll be happy to resolve it.
Enjoy, and also don't forget to write anything (Good, Bad or Thanks etc.)!
thank you so much if works like a charm!
Been locking for something similar.
Is it possible to take that script to next level, and make it as, a list of apps, and for them to be downloaded on the phone. I mean give order through ADB for each apps step by step, instead of folder, to be downloaded.
how to add online option like google drive folder in to the script

[GUIDE][NO ROOT] ADB Bloatware removal Simple Guide for RedMi Note 5A.

Warning: I will not be responsible for any wrong doings that might occur with following this guide, this is my first Guide here, expect some errors. Any damage to any device that might happen by following then steps is responsiblility of particular user not mine. I recommend that you don't do anything you don't understand.
Disclaimer: I do not personally own a RedMi Note 5A device, I helped a friend to clean up some space on their device, as a part of which, I uninstalled some of the OEM apps that were not used by them.
If you use any of the apps, you should not uninstall them.
Difficultly level: Easy to medium.
Experience required: You should be familiar with ADB, Windows BatchScript (optional), Android file system.
As superuser access is not used in this process, root is not required, you can try this on Non-Rooted devices
Tested on : Redmi Note 5A, Android-8.x, MiUi v10.x
Should work on all device prior to Android 9.
Requirements: ADB installed on PC, supposedly windows. A proper USB cable, an Android Phone.
I'll assume you have already setup ADB via Android-SDK or minimalistic ADB tools, and not go into that.
1. Enable developer mode, USB debugging on phone,
2. Connect device to PC (in a USB 2.0 port, preferably).
3. start adb, "adb start-server"
4. Make sure device is available.
Now there is batch file in attachment for uninstalling and a text file with the list of apps I uninstalled. You can either replace the package name with those you want to remove or you can copy the command, make it a single line command and replace the package name directly into the prompt as I did

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Additional details are given in the attachment zip files, see below. You replace the package name with the app you want to uninstall and run the script/command in command line.
Same thing can in theory be achieved if "pm" command is readable by a third party terminal emulator apps like Termux, note that, on new devices, "/" is not readable, "/system/bin/pm" might be readable depending on ROM, thus ADB way should always work, but calling "pm" from on device apps is also possible.
Expected results: single word "success" on a new line.
If it says "device offline", restart adb with "adb kill-server" followed by "adb start-server" , if that doesn't work restart the smartphone, if that doesn't work check that USB port is v2.0( search on Google how to determine ), if that doesn't work, your cable would be faulty or some connection error.
Reserved.

[QUESTION] How to get writable system on Emulator with Google Apps, Android 13, ARM image

I want to get virtual device with root, Google Apps and writable system. Optionally pass SafetyNet checks. Preferably, based on ARM image because I run it on mac m1.
I tried to create a virtual device using Android Studio Emulator.
[email protected]:rootAVD % emulator --version
INFO | Android emulator version 32.1.12.0 (build_id 9751036) (CL:N/A)
ERROR | No AVD specified. Use '@foo' or '-avd foo' to launch a virtual device named 'foo'

I start my Virtual Device with command `emulator -avd Pixel_4_API_33 -writable-system -no-snapshot-load`
I am able to successfully install Magisk root using rootAVD - https://github.com/newbit1/rootAVD
Spoiler: Magisk screenshot
But I'm not able to remount /system writable.
Usually, I do
adb root
adb remount
But after executing `adb root` - I get error `adbd cannot run as root in production builds`
Also tried:
adb shell
su
mount -o rw,remount /
But getting error `'/dev/block/dm-0' is read-only`
I tried adbd-Insecure from https://github.com/wuxianlin/android_tools/blob/master/adbd-Insecure-v2.00.apk
But getting error "Could not patch adbd !". Which is expected, since this module is from 2014...
Spoiler: Error screenshot
Also tried such apps like Root Browser and FX File Explorer with no luck.
I also tried to create devices based on images without Google Apps preinstalled (without Google Play label) on Android 12 and 11. But then I have trouble installing Magisk OpenGApps on it. https://sourceforge.net/projects/magiskgapps/
It seems to be installed successfully, but Chrome is constantly crashing, and Google Play says "This device isn't Play Protect certified"
Spoiler: Android 12.0 OpenGApps Error
My main goal is to get rooted, ARM Android Emulator with fresh Android version and writable /system. I know there is Genymotion with ARM translation and Android 9.0, but it is slow, Mac M1 is not supported and old Android.
Any help would be appreciated.
