Yeah no problem! This image is meant for really messing up your Fire TV Stick 4K in case of major bricks and many other things!

So it's pure stock and can be flashed in twrp?

Yep it all works just fine once flashed, system components can be installed too without TWRP telling it not to, may need to reboot several times till it installs, when you start getting a new update that's not relating to 6.2.7.1 let me know and I'll update this forum. This stock image doesn't get rid of TWRP completely unfortunately.

I'm gonna stick with my pre rooted rbox Rom thanks.. Loving it with play services etc

Hello. How to install this update on a device with root? Root is important to me. Magisk need to be reinstalled?

Hi,
Can you point me to a SAFE precedure to install play services (working Google Play store for paid apps?)
Thanks.

Yes. You need to download the zip file for Magisk to flash in recovery. Magisk doesn't need to be installed, it's stock so it's not rooted by default.

The closest you can get to is a Magisk addon for gapps. It's quite unstable at the moment as there is testing going on. Xposed is with the module, you may need to enable a separate module on Xposed Installer to enable addons. Link can be found here, it'll tell you how to use it. You need to be on 6.2.6.8 since it's the latest release for now and not 6.2.7.1 yet:

There is no risk of bricking after flashing although it's recommended just to be safe, download and flash Magisk Manager For Recovery. It's in the Magisk addon store.

Does this update resolve the lipsync problem? Even before I applied the unlock and root, VLC player lip sync was noticeably out. After intalling Magisk and Kody, the Kody video player lip sync is also off but not as much as VLC (tested playing video from memory stick). Anyone else see this and resolve? I followed some youtube guide about clearing cache and rebooting and that helped a little but still out of sync.
I finally gave up trying to figure out how to use adb via TWRP and installed the addons package AFTV-MM which claims to do all these settings automatically. That's the point where I installed Kodi and tested the playback of some videos on my memory stick plugged into the USB over OTG. My ultimate goal is to play videos (in voice sync) from my home video media server, accessed over the network.

Yes! The update fixes the problem with lip syncing, and if it still has that problem try going to settings, display and sounds, audio, surround sound, and set that to stereo then reboot.

So with OTG & Mouse and a USB stick with the needed files on it I should boot to TWRP, slide to inturrupt, Install this image you provide via TWRP install, install Magisk 20.3 via TWRP install and finally install AFTV-MM zip via TWRP install and I am done, right? If this is right, I assume I reboot after every zip install or can I do them one after another? How about logging out of my account before, do I do that? What is the exact procedure for dummies. Please over-complicate if possible, I enjoy not making major mistakes due to inexperience. Thanks for your help!

AFTV-MM isn't supported on 6.2.7.1 at all through testings I've made. If you do want to keep AFTV-MM, it's better to stay on 6.2.6.8 as there's no new significant changes with the update to this new image. You can do one after another. Firstly, it's important to flash the image then Magisk and reboot. There is no need to log out of your account due to this update being stock and is acting like it's a new update as if you never unlocked it.

Mine is saying "up to date" on 6.2.6.8 so it's possible Amazon pulled the 6.2.7.1 update. I will not be releasing a rom for this until I know they're pushing it again.

Where is the file, do you have a hub on the OTG connection with USB stick plugged in. There should be an option on the Install panel to mount USB storage if I remember correctly.

I uploaded the file to /sdcard/Download/update/ folder.
No OTG connection. Just plain usb to microusb connectors.
BTW as rbox stated up here if really the 6.2.7.1 has been pulled by Amazon maybe it's wise to wait.

[Fix] Hulu working + Flash.apk April 22

This is a modified flash apk file that enables you to watch hulu on your rooted, froyo-running android device. It is my project to return to the community. Please only use this fix if you know what you are doing, as I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone.
Instructions:
1.) UNINSTALL FLASH
2.) Download the .apk
3.) adb install flash_fixed.apk (or your preferred method of installing the .apk)
4.) Set your user agent to something other than a mobile device (search for ABOUT: DEBUG if you don't know what I am talking about)
5.) watch hulu!
Please Note: I cannot do anything to fix any lag or stuttering you may experience. One fix you may try is overclocking (at your own risk, of course).
Changelog:
April 22 - Updated to Version 10.2.156.12
November 13- Updated to Version 10.1.105.6
September 24- Updated to Version 10.1.95.2
August 26- Updated to Version 10.1.92.8
June 17- Updated to Version 10.1.72.7
June 09- Updated to Version 10.1.72.4
Enjoy!
Thanks great Job!
and seriously... keep this one a secret. please
Thanks very much....
It still didn't work for me
needs to say that it's a newer version
Hulu is saying:
"Hulu requires Flash Player 10.0.22 or higher. Please download and install the latest version of Flash Player before continuing."
Did you install flash-fixed.apk correctly? Were there any errors in step 3?

For those like me that are programming impaired, here's how to install an APK the easy way:
wXw.brighthub.cXm/mobile/google-android/articles/37151.aspx (replace the XXXX's as I'm a newb and restricted).
In the market look for "installer" by Jiang (It is one that works on Froyo).
Update: it seems 2B working for me. Dam Zulu, why do they make it so difficult to watch their commercials (and programming)?

rcxquake, i didn't receive any error msg when installing your fixed apk, but i still got the same msg that gerizafa got.
It worked for me (luckily). I am going to restart my phone to confirm this though..
Second attempt still doesn't recognize it as being installed; (even though the APK is)
Does this fix require root or no?
As far as I know, it shouldn't require root. It does, however, require froyo obviously.
You said flash isn't installed JareduPS? How is flash not installed if you didn't get in error in step 3?
rcxquake - is it possible it's working for people who already installed App Market Flash but not working for those who didn't?
To those getting an error: try this. Go to settings -> application settings -> check the box next to "Unknown sources". This might actually require root. I am not familiar with non-rooted phones, sorry.
Wee! Yay! Thank You!
The tech blogs come here on their own, and the gig will be up again soon. In the mean time, let's keep our mouths shut on this one.

I do have FroYo, but I haven't got around to re-rooting after coming off Cyanogen.
I had the original 10.1 beta installed; uninstalled that, installed yours; went to browser, turned to android, then back to desktop, tried hulu & youtube, says that flash player isn't installed; uninstalled; downloaded installer, rebooted phone, reinstalled your apk, and thus-far no luck.
I think I'm going to try rooting it really quick (since I need to do that anyway) and see if that has any results.

Not bad but it looks like they don't have too many recent TV episodes
Yay! It works for me.
Thank You!
The tech blogs are trolling the N1 forums and will see this, so in the mean time, let's keep our mouths shut.
Didn't work on my N1 which is non-rooted. After I installed it I only get "You need to upgrade your Adobde flash player" on Youtube. Worked fine again when I uninstalled it and installed the one from market again.

Looking for info on which version of GAPPS i should use for Shield TV 16GB.

I recently flashed Zulu99's Full Android 1.8 rom on my 16gb shield tv and it loads 5.1 just fine, but after flashing any Gapps i get the same "Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped." message at the welcome screen and after skipping setup and trying to add an account or signing into google apps i get the same message over and over again. Should i use a certain Gapps package for the rom?
EDIT: I'm wrong. Ignore this post.
i found out those works.

You will have to flash your system again without the gapps then install this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-google-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330
And if you have video playback problems you will need to downgrade the shield tv to version 1.3 before flash everything again.
Good luck!
Sorry for the delay
My issue is resolved now. Thought i would post the fix.
Turns out i needed to wipe everything in TWRP using advanced wipe option and flash again, i had to wipe everything but the external storage and then i had to flash full android 1.8 and then the arm64 5.1 gapps from open gapps again. After that i was able to sign into Google Play, but now i have a new problem. some apps i installed when in shield tv 1.4 are now showing as incompatable in google play. Not sure if it has something to do with downgrading to 1.3 to fix the video issues i had.

I have the same problem about some app saying incompatible in the play store but I guess it is more a problem related with full android 1.8 being a stock android 5.1 and not a android tv version.
But as stock you have still a lot more apps compatibles.
In the worst case you can still use another market,or use a computer with a apk downloaded extension or directly download the apk you need.
I installed a lots of incompatible apps without problems on mine,it is mostly test and try.
Note if you want to gain back the ability to move apps to sd, link2sd is compatible if you format the sd correctly. Most games do not mind you use it to move obb and ext data to sd to save some space on the 16gb shield tv.

youtube stops working after 6.0.1 update

My 6p was stock rooted using the "old" method with modified boot image (i.e. not systemless). I manually flashed the 6.0.1 update and apply superSU 2.62 (i.e. systemless root). The youtube app worked after the first boot, but when I rebooted the 6p the youtube app no longer works -- I kept getting "Please check your network connection". I uninstalled the app, clear app data/cache but to no avail. I even reflashed 6.0.1; again, the youtube app worked in the first boot, but no afterwards.
I've been on wifi all the time, and I could watch youtube from my browser by going to m.youtube.com (and use adobe flash).
Everything else works after the 6.0.1 update. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset. Please help!

Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work ("App not installed"). In fact I tried to install an old version in multiple ways:
* just install it from ES file explorer
* freeze the current one first using TB and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /data/app/com.google.android.youtube-1 and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /system/app/Youtube and then install
Same error message.

Never heard of that -- could you give me a reference? (I'm not disagreeing with you; I just want to learn more about it).
When I upgrade from 6 to 6.0.1. I reflashed everthing except userdata and recovery; in particular I had to reroot my 6p. I assume that would have erased the old root processes? (this is a question)
Please help me get back youtube!

uninstall all updates to the youtube app. then, flash clear youtube 10.43 LP-MM - from here http://teamblackedout.com/Transparent/ . I flashed it using TWRP, it installs as a system app, replacing your stock youtube app. so if you want to keep the stock youtube app make a backup or know how to pull the stock gapp from the stock factory images.
my youtube didn't work earlier, this is what i did and now it's all working right again
Edit: important that it's the MM version (marshmallow) if you grab it from that link

Yea I noticed that was weird. You can do it by hitting the uninstall button in Google play. It'll ask "do you want to uninstall updates"
Or from that system app menu you mentioned, you can select De activate app and it'll ask you if you want to uninstall updates

if TiBu doesn't say "updated" then you just have the stock system youtube. i flashed the team blackout zip right over that system version and it fixed my problem. if you're problem is the same as mine, it should work.

The zip did remove the youtube system app. I then rebooted and successfully installed an older version of youtube. However, this older version (10.11.55) still gives me the "Check your network connection" error, and according to xprivacy this older version got installed as a system app!
When I first fired up the newer installed, older youtube I got a spinning circle on the screen. It seemed to try to log into my account and couldn't; maybe that's the network connection problem it refers to? BUT: (1) the play store works, (2) I've never logged into youtube (account blocked by xprivacy), (3) when I remove all xprivacy restriction the app still didn't work, (4) when I tried to manually sign into youtube it did not recognize my account!
I'm really confused. Suggestions and comments are most welcome!

10.11 may be too old a version. I just know 10.43 worked for me. i'd try that one if i were you
edit: if you flashed the 10.43 zip already, then installed 10.11 over it, you'd just need to uninstall updates to youtube and try to run the system version (which should be the 10.43 you flashed). also, try wiping YouTube app data in TiBu

I installed a 64bit 10.43 youtube apk, but that didn't work either. So I uninstalled it from TB, but the youtube icon still showed up in the application tray even through the app not longer worked when I clicked on it. Instead of using the cleaning zip I used instead the root explorer option in ES file explorer to remove this left-over youtube apk. Reboot, youtube now was really gone from the app tray. Then I reinstalled the 10.43 apk, and wa la, it worked even after multiple reboots!
I don't exactly know what happens; I'm just glad that it works THANKS!

[Root] Phoenix OS x86/x64 v2.2.0 (21 August) Rooted Images

Hi guys, the v2.2.0 release broke the ability to root without side effects on the Google Play Store, but a workaround is provided in the post. In this version, VPN works.
Notes:
A fresh install is highly recommended.
In this version, rooting breaks something with Gmail and Calendar causing them to not be able to sync. If you really need those apps, I recommend not rooting POS.
Instructions:
Download the correct correct system.img.7z file provided in the Download section and extract it
Install Phoenix OS.
Go to C:\Phoenix OS (or wherever your Phoenix OS installation is) and replace the system.img file with the one you just downloaded and extracted
Boot into Phoenix OS and finish the system initialization wizard.
Install Google Play Services v11.0.56: (x86 | x64)
Open Play Store, sign in with your Google Account, install the latest version of SuperSU by clicking the Update button.
-(Optional) If you for some reason cannot use the Play Store, you can find SuperSU on the official thread. Download the flashable zip, extract Superuser.apk from the common folder, and install it in Phoenix OS by opening the .apk file with the default file manager that comes with the OS. You don't have to do this step if SuperSU updated successfully in the Play Store.
Open SuperSU, click Normal to update the binary, and your Phoenix OS should now be fully rooted.

Thank you! Let me know if you run into any issues.
I'm sorry for the noob question, but does this wipe all data from a previous install? if so, is there a way to update without losing the data?

If you do a fresh install, then yes. You could try just replacing the system.img and see if it still works fine. Might want to backup the folder first before doing that though. Let me know if it works for you.

Highly unlikely. I recommend joining the Phoenix OS discord server
I have just installed Phoenix OS on my laptop (dual boot - .exe) and installed many apps too (like ig, fb, chrome, games, etc.)
If I root with this method (replace original system image with the rooted image), what will affects?
My installed apps will gone or not?
Thank you.

According to what users reported, your installed apps will not be affected I do prefer to replace it right after a clean install, but if that's the situation you're in, you could just replace the system.img without it affecting your data.img. If you're unsure, just do a backup/copy of the whole Phoenix OS folder if things go wrong

You can use RMXtools v1.8. It will involve extracting your system.img, injecting rooted files, and rebilding the system.img.
Hello.
Sorry, but I'm not in that topic I ask, does this OS support UEFI Secure boot?

Installing games with OnePlus 8 Pro

Hi XDA,
Phone: OnePlus One Pro 8
Model: IN2025
OS: Oxygen OS 11.IN11AA
Magisk:1469b82a (21101)
I recently rooted my phone and it works quite well, I have used Magisk Hide to 'hide root from my banking apps', it works so does NFC and google pay.
I hide the following service through magisk hide: (Banks, Google Play Game, Google Play Services, an authenticator (Duo Mobile))
1) However, I don't seem to be able to install some games from google playstore, namely : Eve Echoes, World of Warships, Warpath ..all of them download but give the error "Can't install, try again"
Is there a work around?
2) On a side note: is apkpure a trusted website (they seem to have APKs for everything)?
Thank you!
Cheers,
DV

I'm not sure about why google play won't work, probably you can try to wipe data and cache of the Google Play services and google play store and maybe that would work?
I have the apkpure app and it works beautifully, it updates my apps and games faster than the app store and even beta version you can find there. I mainly use apkpure so I can download games and apps that are "not available in my region"

@dvartak May sound stupid, but does the Play Store app has storage access ? I had the same message when using microg and the Play Store, I wasn't able to install any "big" app until I gave the storage permission.

Hi,
Yes, it does. I can install big games and apps. I can install Genshin impact and other games(offline), which is why I am perplexed as to why others won't install.

That's bizarre never heard of it
Can I ask, have you got the dreaded lucky patcher installed?
If not then might be time to clear down play services, play store, play games etc, sign out - sign in
Try pushing the game by saying you want to install it via the web.
Go here and sign in, then find the game, choose your phone and itll push to your device, don't let the play store open the link
https://play.google.com/store
What modules do you have installed??

No lucky patcher
The only thing I have installed is systemless. I tried installing magiskhide props config to see if it helped; it did not, so I uninstalled it.
On the web, it says 'installed', but it isn't.
EDIT: I tried with another gmail account, reinstalling google play games.
Other online games such as Clash of Clans seem to work, so does Among Us and Genshin Impact.
The ones that don't work that I have tried: Eve Echoes, WarPath and World of Warships < All of these show up as installed on the web (but aren't installed on any android device that I own).
Eve Echoes downloads starts installing and gives the error unable to install.
Can some one who is rooted try if these games will work.
ok, one more interesting update: Netflix app seems to work, I thought it shouldn't work on rooted phones.

Ill try them, see what I get, not my types of games but sure np.
Must have detected root.
I think it's the game detecting it, not your system. Or Google play won't allow the installation if you're rooted on those games.
I'll try them now.
Seems to be working for me..that's warpath.. Installed then verified in game. I have play protect off
This is my version of magisk on canary.
Edit: Image uploads not working on the app.
It's version 1469b82a
You could maybe change to canary then update, will need to repatch and update magisk manager. It's easy, no need for ADB

Just so that I have understood it correctly,
Step 1: Set channel to Canary,
Step 2: Update Magisk and Manager to whatever is latest
Step 3: move the magisk_patched file to my downloads folder
Umm..what do you mean by repatch and update magisk ?
Sorry
Cheers,

Ok so change to canary.
Head back to the normal magisk screen.
You'll see two install/update buttons
Top is magisk
Bottom is magisk manager
Update the manager, it'll download,, then click install.
Next click magisk then install directly
Reboot and you're done .
PS: have your original magisk patched img ready just in case but I've done this a LOT and have never had an issue, so you'll be fine.

One quick question, should I disable magisk hide (settings) and systemlesshosts before doing this ?
EDIT:
a) ok so I tried this, I disabled the magisk hide before attempting this, it detected my magiskpatch during direct install. When the phone rebooted things were a bit slow and my internet was not working. Another reboot and everything was fast again, but no luck with Warpath.
b) Tried to clear cache and storage for playstore and google play games. Shutdown the phone, started it again.
No luck.
c) I downloaded APKPure to try and download 'Warpath', it downloaded but would not proceed with installation., I had to manually click install APK.>The game starts and asks to download additional files..., files are downloaded and it fails to install.
In the grand scheme of things it would be great if I could install everything, I can get by with not installing these games. I fear that this might an issue with others apps as well although so far I have not encountered any problems.
Any other things I could try ?
2) On another note, I wanted to know how I could backup my active partition (just incase I want to try things and something breaks).
3) This might not be related at all, I noticed that my root folder (using solid explorer) shows 0B free of 1.42 GB. Is this normal that the root folder is completely full ?
Thanks!

DV

Yes it's tthat's similar to mine. It's possible that that's the problem but I've not witnessed that before, maybe it is the problem.
Ok so it seems were running low on fixes here..it's almost certainly a permissions issue, maybe the system space? I'm guessing!
Have you tried to mount namespace??
Did you hide magisk manager? Unhide it. Btw I don't mean magisk hide I mean the manager, then reboot.
I'm not sure if there is a way to reset all permissions to apps including Android system apps but that would be my next step.
Beyond that, remove modules and wipe system in recovery, it'll be you're system, apps, settings, but storage will remain, it's what I do if I need to start over as system is where 90% of issues reside.. You will need to fastboot boot the magisk patched img then directly install after.
If it's not that then it's a deeper problem and even though it's just a few games at the moment it won't fix itself, so without a tonne of troubleshooting then it'll be MSM or full zip restoring. Probably MSM though as you'll get fresh everything.
Hang on your internet didn't work??
That's a sign that you're using a boot.img from the previous firmware??
That could be the problem. Re download you're firmware using oxygen updater mate.
Open settings /advanced
Then download the full zip.

Apologies for not being clear.
My wifi was connected there was just no data transfer.
The only magisk patch I have is from the large file that the phone/oxygen OS downloaded to get me OS 11. You helped me on my other thread.
