7T Pro Battery Life - OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Questions & Answers

What's people's sot? I'm looking at buying the 7T Pro Mclaren edition but the only thing worrying me is the battery life.
I've currently got a Huawei Mate 20 Pro and after nearly two years the battery life is still phenomenal. 6-7h sot over two days use or 9-10h sot in a single day.
I doubt the OP can compete with that, but as long as it's not too far off I'd be happy.

You are looking at about half that on the OP if. Without 5g I'm getting around 5 hours of SOT but I do have the 90hz display on which is phenomenal. The battery life isn't that big of a deal because the phone charges phenomenally fast so hasn't bothered me much.

That seems fairly low. Some people have reported 8-10h sot with the 7T Pro. Not sure how they did that, but if 5h is the norm I might steer clear tbh.

For me its amazing
Keep in mind: substratum black theme system wide, also using Samsung Browser with dark mode, most of the time 4g,brightness ~50-60% and elemental Kernel, also debloated...

I get about 6hrs.
The phone is great. No issues.

Im using 60hz and full hd.... With 2k and 90hz u can easily achieve 7-8hours.
Had the mate 20 pro but this device is faster in General, better battery (for me!) and the screen is amazing...

Get around 6/7 90hz on
With omega kernel

I got from 7 to 8 hours of SOT time.
Stock rom 10.0.5 with stock kernel, 90 hz, auto switch resolution, no root, OP7T PRO MCLAREN international EDITION, with wifi, bluetooth, gps, dual sim cards always on.
I have only disabled four logging services from 1+ using adb.

The black is not as deep as mi5 but the sunlight visibility is superb.
Just some random black themes, I mix matched the themes. Main theme being used is Black Joker (DD)
SoT varies on what you are doing.
2 hours reading your digital book is vastly more efficient than 2 hours playing 3D games.
I got almost 5hours sot average usage. Whatsapp, twitter, a little of youtube and etc. No games tho.
3hrs on heavy gaming and streaming with 55% left. I am loving this device ? on miuims 7.5.25

I guess the claim that the sd835 produce less heat is also true. This is what I like about the 10nm SoC; on sd820, when I try to play dolphin emu; the temp easily reach 43-45°C on MIUI (on LOS based rom is better).
But sd835 my highest temp is yet to reach 41°C.
This is the first time i see a wonderful 4G SOT, but, can you post all battery statistics?

Now, i use mi5s (sd821) heat easy up especially in tropical
So, i intend to upgrade to mi6
epic rom
I get 7 hours of SoT with some gaming.
I'm on Epic ROM right now but I've tried Global as well. I'm really disappointed with the battery life of Mi6. I'm getting around 4h of SoT and the battery lasts a little over a day (mostly on wifi, zero gaming). That's even less than my 3 year old OnePlus One. I hope it changes when Xiaomi releases kernel sources for Mi6 and AOSP ROMs start popping up which I believe will cut a lot of bloat off of MIUI.
I'm running xiaomi.eu with MIUI and memory optimisation disabled. I'd made a few calls, used the GPS for about 20 minutes, streamed music and mainly used it for browsing. Amazing performance.

I think the appearance of the battery stats changes when you disable MIUI optimisations. I'm also running an old version of cstheme which I downloaded from the MIUI thread rather than the theme app (as the latest version doesn't theme the settings menu in blue).

My friend under no circumstances is it acceptable to have such appalling battery life. The only time it is acceptable is if you do heavy gaming. In all other conditions this phone should hit 5 to 7 hrs SOT,
YouTube will always use a lot of battery, especially if there's not an optimal 3g/4g/wifi connection.

i know many apps drain battery..but after buying a 750$ phone, it's obvious i would use it as much as i want.. but it's not happening.. if one needs to DEBLOAT, block notification etc things, shouldn't they get nokia 3310? fully DEBLOATED no lag and excellent battery..

8-9 hrs SOT is just not possible on s8. Its an outlier if its true. Even on Wifi, one might get 5 hrs to max 6 hrs SOT. I would ask folks who are getting it to do a video of their phones and usage to confirm this kind of SOT.
The issue is with standby time and not with actual battery consumption. Sammy's experience 9.0 is also not as optimized as vanilla android. OEMs like Huawei & Xiaomi just nuke their background apps and hence folks get higher standby and thus more SOT
@sp1312 Indian telcos are not optimized for 4G. The max SOT you'lll get on a good day with mixed (wifi+4G) would be about 4-5 hrs which I am experiencing.

Don't lose sleep over an hour or two of SOT. Just enjoy the phone. As far as it lasts a day, everything is fine.
The trick to higher SOT is keep it's screen on for a few minutes randomly. When I read books on Kindle app or keep looking at photos, my SOT shoots up by an hour. There is usually nothing wrong with our phone, unless there is abnormal battery drain per hour. 2-4% on 4G is absolutely fine.

I've posted my findings on the battery thread, but long story short, I can easily get 9hrs SOT on stock Android Q beta 5.
Pixel 3a XL on stock Pie, with everything on, default auto brightness, and mixed LTE and WiFi usage I can get an average of about 7 hours SOT in an 18 hour period on the weekends. If I am on WiFi 80+% of the time I can get 8.5 hours of SOT. Longest I ever had was 9h 28m SOT and 4% battery remaining when plugged in. This is the first phone I have had that I have NEVER had to connect to a charger during the day, others got close but there was always an occasion where it didn't make it through the day. Granted, I have only had it 3 months or so.
On a typical work day, up at 6:30am and in bed around 10:30pm, and in the field (80% out of the office on LTE, 20% in the office on WiFi, 1.5-2 hours talk time) is about 3-4 hours SOT with 50% battery remaining when plugged in. Typical day in the office on WiFi 95% of the time is about 3 hours of SOT and the battery at 60% at bed time.
I think if I sat in my office on my phone all day, I could easily break 10 hours of SOT, possibly hit 12 hours... The WiFi is incredibly strong, there is a Meraki MR55 access point right outside my door, so I am usually within 3-4 meters unobstructed line of site of it, and the AT&T cell tower is within 3 blocks. Again, this is all with everything turned on... Bluetooth, NFC, location services, Map's Timeline, push synching two Exchange accounts and two Gmail accounts, casting audio 50% of the time when in the office, and screen auto brightness on.
This is without a doubt the best device I have had for Screen On Time. May not be the best there is, but it is spectacular in my book.
Battery Life of all Pixel 3 variants
Hello, (sorry for my bad english, I'm German)
I'm looking for a new device, bc my old HTC 10 loses massively battery life (1-1,5h SOT) and I have to charge it 1-2 a day, so I guess I have an average usage of 4-6h SOT per day.
Now I have to choose between a used Pixel 3/3 XL (~400€) or a new Pixel 3a/3a XL (~370-450€); Pixel 4 is not an option, maximum 450€
Main factors for me are the camera and vanilla android, so I can get along with all of them. But also the battery is a facotr, bc in my opinion it's the point who limits the usage in 3 years, so I will get the Pixel whth the best battery life (if there are appreciable differences)
I read that the Pixel 3 is quite bad, so first I looked for the Pixel 3a wit its smaller SoC (is this a notable factor?) because I liked the really handy size.
But now I read, that the XL models has despite their bigger screens a better battery life - is the difference between 3400mAh+1440p and
3700mAh+1080p a significant factor? Otherwise I doubt with the bigger size, is it worth considerung the greater battery?
I hope some Pixel users could give me advices to choose the best Pixel phone fpr the next few years.
Thanks!

Battery drain after Android 10 compared to 9. Marked red linie is my sleep time phone not used
What i can do? Factory reset gonna help?
After factory reset no deep sleep drain
How did you update to 10? I would do a factory reset then sideload the OTA. If that still doesnt help (assuming youre not flashing any mods, themes, custom kernels, etc) then you need to track down whats preventing it from sleeping. Its typically an app.

Most importantly, is there any compromises when installing this kerenl?

I have been very happy with battery life so far.
Screen is on 90hz qhd+
90% on wifi
Sot of 7 hours and 5 minutes.
Been of the charger for 15 hours.
Still 16% battery left.
First day of moderate usage with qhd and 90 hz
90 hz fhd betwen 7-8 hours screen on time normal use social media youtube and some light games (except pubg that game is a battery killer ) with quad hd didn't tested yet !
Fourth day with the op7t pro and I've noticed that the screen on time is even worse than on my 3 years old OnePlus 3...
I'm getting 3 to 4 hours of screen on time in normal usage. Google, social media and Netflix/YouTube.
If I start playing games the sot drops below 3 hours
I'll send it back and buy another smartphone. It's not acceptable to have 3 hours of sot for a brand new flagship
have you tried a hard reset in your phone , dark mode , and battery saver as well because 7t pro can do better than that

I have a 6-8 SOT usually (90hz and automatic resolution). Give it some days to stabilize. Battery on first days was bad. Now it's amazing
I average too around 7 hours of sot. Pretty good I would say.
I'm really thinking about giving it a try but SOT is very important to me and no phone has come close to my mate 20 pro this year and I returned every one I tested. But never tried a oneplus so... Wireless charging is really something i would miss for sure so I'm still hesitating. And the mixed results given here don't confort me into buying it...

Automatic resolution, 90Hz, only wifi, 1/3 of brightness, black/dark mode everywhere, only social media and video (yt and Netflix).

Heavy use endurance

Playing Candy Crush for 22 hours straight can take its toll on your battery (and your marriage). Rate this thread to express how the OPPO Find X2 Pro's battery performs under heavy use. A higher rating indicates that it lasts a long time even when playing games, streaming video and audio, and doing other CPU-intensive activities.

Hey,
I am trying the Oppo Find X2 Pro vs OP8pro a bit, just now doing a casual 30minutes of photography and videos during a walk:
OP8Pro: 8% Battery drain
Oppo: 11% Battery drain
In general, the oneplus seems to be a bit more refined on the software side.
I'm very happy with the oppo find x2 pro (vegan leather edition but the battery life isn't good comparing for example with oneplus 8 pro. Oneplus 8 pro had some battery issues in the beginning but oneplus fixed that with the latest update . Oppo has to do the same !
Oppo find x2 pro : Average use SOC approx 4 hours or maybe less .
Oneplus 8 pro : average use SOC 6-7 hours .

I think you should be getting way more than 4 hours SOC with average use. There is a thread somewhere about dirty flashing the ROM or such. I'm same firmware as you in UK and I get a full day 'average' use (average use is subjective). I think even with the screen on continually, I'd get more than 4 hours.

Deffo something not right. If it were me, I'd reset phone back to factory settings and see what happens. Not ideal I know.

Thing is:
At work I'm only using WLAN and Bluetooth.
All other settings are the following:
Data off fhd+ adaptive hz, all unused apps are in energy safing mod.
When I arrive at home like 12 hrs later in total, I'm going in flightmodus only using WLAN.
Brightness is at automatic the whole time.
End of my story:
3 hry sot without a single minute of gaming or YouTube. Only medium usage with socal apps and Deezer.
I'm confused but I will try a factory reset.

Mmm your device seems defective, the battery of this phone is bad, lets be honest, I normally get 5 hours (all full) or 6-7 in automatic selection using it a lot, but 3 hours with everything automatic and without youtube nor gaming is not normal, something is wrong

Hey,
I am trying the Oppo Find X2 Pro vs OP8pro a bit, just now doing a casual 30minutes of photography and videos during a walk:
OP8Pro: 8% Battery drain
Oppo: 11% Battery drain
In general, the oneplus seems to be a bit more refined on the software side.

Using GSam Battery Monitor to build up a profile of my battery usage, it currently reports that I can expect a full battery to last for 1 day 7 hours with a screen-on time of 5 hours 11 minutes. Not brilliant, but ok.
I know I could increase these times if I disabled the True Edge app I've installed but, as has been discussed on a different thread here, the Screen Light Effects built in to ColorOS to signal lock screen notifications isn't working for me and a lot of other people. The True Edge app does the same thing - and works! - but it's a bit of a battery hog.
