Native call recorder. Has anyone ever tried to flash a Thai firmware, plu - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

As to the title, has anyone ever tried to install a Thai or Indian firmware, plus the SIM card trick, to get the native call recorder?

I don't see why it won't work if you flash any G975F with Thai firmware and use a Thai SIM card. However, I am not sure if Samsung requires you to make a 10 minute call with Thai SIM. Some phones from Asia are unlocked but UK ones are SIM locked unless you make a 10 min call. Don't want you to SIM lock your phone so just wanted to warn.

Tks for your answer. My goal is to get the native call recorder, since ACR or CCR don't work properly.
Tks also for your warning, I live in Italy and would buy a S10+ with European CSC, do you think I would have some problems with the Thai SIM?
I should flash the Thai firm with Odin and use the non home CSC, right?

I think getting a Thai SIM is important. I'd flash the Thai ROM and then factory reset with Thai SIM card.

My Thai S7Edge, S8+, S9+, S10+ never have any region lock warning sticker on the box.
I used to use LG G7 and it's region lock is applied only once in forever. I could freely hop around many regions without any problem.

Call recorder by Skvalex has been working perfectly for me on my UK s10+

I think it records through the audio source set to MIC, which generates noise.
I also believe that it does not work when a BT headset is connected.
Could you try?

You're lucky...
everyone here is angry because all over Europe, and in one half of the world, the phone calls recording has been blocked by Samsung (or Google?).
Can you advise me how to buy an S10+ in Thailand?
If convenient.....

Correct, it doesn't record through Bluetooth. And yes there's noise as well but someone said the app was updated and the recordings are a lot clearer now.

I'm quite certain that region lock is "permanent". After you buy Italian S10 and makes some calls, you will never get region lock again even when you flash with other region firmware. If that doesnt make you feel safe enough and you have to buy Thai or Indian sim card anyway to change CSC, you can make local phone calls to the sim card operator using VoWIFI (this way you can have local phone call rate). Most phone operators use IVR system. So, 5 minutes call would be really easy.

I bought a Thai SIM.
Factory reset phone with Thai SIM inside.
Configure phone and then change to my spanish SIM.
Reboot and call record is working.
My csc change phe, phe, phe to thl, phe, phe.
Cons: Only Thai Samsung pay and Samsung members (not checked other Samsung apps).
Factory reset again, with my original SIM, need spanish Samsung pay because Samsung rewards.

Where to buy thai sim?

Great!!!
That was just what I wanted to hear.
Did you make any special setting in Developer Options?
Do you think there will be problems if I do it in a phone with ITV CSC?

.

I installed a Thai latest 10 firmware via Odin. And then I inserted a Thai SIM (without network registration). Factory reset and inserted my Vodafone SIM card of my network keeping the same settings (without reset).Native call recorder is ok. I lost RCS messages through Samsung message app. Is anyone else facing this problem?

[Q] Updated 80220D no 3G (or GSM) after update

Hello,
I flashed my phone with the LG tool to latest version as I couldn´t hear that hissing sound in my ears any more. Before I was on 80220B.
Unfortunately, I dont get any data signal...Calling works ...
I tried 2 SIM cards, so its definately the phone (put my SIM to another phone, there it works)
Any one else had these issues or suggestions?
Thanks

Sounds like you may have a phone from another region... try setting the APNs manually.
Otherwise, FULL reset and flash again.

The upgrade was for a phone sourced outside your country (or region in fact). Possibly when you bought it, someone flashed the local firmware.
This seems to happen a lot with phones bought via Grey vendors.

I know what you mean, I am in Germany, bought the phone from a "normal" online shop (new) and got a polish version. Now I flashed the german version to it which is the cause I think.
Thanks for clarifying

[Q] Not registered on network

Hi there!
I bought a Galaxy Note III in Thailand, unlocked, and I am trying to use it in India, Vodafone. Data is working perfectly but when I try to register it on network is not possible. I already went to the company and replaced the sim card. Same problem. When I was in Thailand it worked perfectly, even I tried in Nepal and it was working 100% too, so phone is ok. Somewhere I read there is a new system to avoid bringing phones form one country to another. Some help would be apreciate. Thanks in advance. Be happy

Actually when i selected WCDMA mode only the phone network is fine. 3G is also working fine but its not hundred per cent perfect sometimes its also showing no network.Like yesterday i set it to WCDMA mode and it worked fine for all calls. But when i select GSM only or AUTO mode the problem is too much and repeats itself frequently.I have bought it from eBay and has got seller warranty plus eBay gurantee is also there as i have purchased it 2 days back.
I want to get rid of this problem without returning the phone. Its CSC country is UK&IRE.Maybe it is causing some problem.I don't know but i am a student and got this phone after many efforts.Kindly help me.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

maybe you should try another network sim card or go into the settings and search for networks and then hit automatic
Then maybe you both need to flash your own regions rom?
Check your imei number, does it different from under the battery? Your phone probably been injected with superimei which did not work with gsm mode (it work in wcdma). You need to find a repair shop which has the SPT BOX to repair your gsm connection.

[Q] S5 - Region Lock - How to test?

I've got a UK S5 purchased sim free and have just made a 5 minute call in the hope the region lock will be removed, but does anyone know if there is a way to test this? make 10-15 minutes more of calls just to be on the safe side? lol. but all kidding aside I have no idea how to check, and very quick/brief google search didn't turn up results (again very very quick search I may have overlooked it lol)..
I think you don't have to be worry about region lock. As far as i know, Singapore has the same mobile network (GSM) with Australia, theoretically you could use any sim to make phone calls in Singapore

You don't need to verify this. It's already an acknowledged fact. Samsung just wanted to reduce sales in the grey market.
Not many user seem to read your question carefully or simply don't get what the problem is..
I will have the same problem as I will go to Korea in a few month. I guess we just have to believe what Samsung said about the 5 min. call. Even trying the phone with a foreign sim card (foreign friends etc) is not sure since it will connect to the same region operators. But maybe it's worth a try!

5 m8n is not enough, use it for 1 or 2 hours with not less of 15 min of call but 3-4 calls not only one and everything will be ok ( tested on my s5 and on s4 mini) i have multiple sim of france and othrr country outside of UE so i had experience of that probleme
Has anyone found a way to check if the phone is region locked? Would receiving 5 mins worth of calls on a regional SIM card be enough or does one have to make the calls?
There are some technical approaches but why not simply insert an out of region SIM card and try making a call? Does it work - or do you get an error? If you didn't plan ahead and don't have an out of region SIM on hand, a large, local mobile shop can probably furnish one for you to test.
Even if you had to purchase a prepaid SIM by mail order.. wouldn't that be worth it to know the answer? Otherwise you could be scrambling to fix it abroad under more difficult circumstances.
----> If you are rooted, you can do an authorative check by looking at your phone's blacklist file as described here
.
Some websites say that apart from making 5 mins worth of calls its also necessary to insert a regional SIM card before turning on the phone for the first time. Is this true?

No way to know unless someone does rigorous testing. Samsung probably prefers the particulars to remain murky to make it harder for end users to buy lower priced phones from other countries.
.
How can I go about resetting my phone to as close to its factory state as possible? I want to go through the initial configuration process with the SIM card inserted as I had configured it without a SIM card.

A bit off topic in this thread. So you should start a new thread if you have any follow up questions..
But to answer, Settings > General > Backup and reset > Factory data reset > Reset
That should do what you want.
Be warned that this will delete all of your user data, files and apps. So do a backup first.
And optionally follow that by using Odin or Kies to flash a full OEM stock firmware image on the device.
The latter step isn't really necessary 99% of the time and does very little that the first step hasn't already done. But you did say.. as close as... possible
.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
did I mention that if it was my device being sold, etc, that I would also trash my encryption keys, do several dd passes over the flash memory, soft brick, repartition, then wipe again with forensic software while pondering whether I had any reasons to simply grind the handset into fine powder.. ?
Did both steps. At least if the phone decides not to work with a local sim card when I'm out of Europe I'll have a clean conscience
Thanks a million.

hi Mate, was your phone region unlocked after 5 mins of call? M planning to buy one but its from other region. Also, will it get region locked again after any update?
Yes it worked fine for me with another regions sim card. I haven't been abroad again since I updated it so I don't know if it's still region unlocked.
I just got an s8 in switzerland, but the sim card lasted no time, as no credit. I have made several calls of about 2.50 minutes each to 0800 numbers (toll free) will this work?
Thanks

Any other options to remove it?

I had an S7 from China/SE Asia. It worked OK in the US on AT&T as it was, but I wanted a US (universal) firmware. Eventually I could flash a US universal, or leave the phone OS as it was.
To get the region to change to US, I had to flash the correct CSC package. It took me a few tries at finding the correct CSC, as the CSC had to match the version of the OS (version/number wise, not region wise).
For S8's I can't remember about the issue of minutes or when that criteria became included with the S8's system.

SM-G9750 in the UK with ee

I've ordered a SM-G9750 from China and its the first time I've used a Samsung import in the UK on ee, can anyone answer a few questions:
1. Is there anything I should do to use the phone in the UK - I've read that you need to put a native sim in it and make 10 minutes of calls, true/false?
2. Is Wifi calling working on ee?
3. Is Samsung pay working in the uk?
4. Is Google Pay working in the UK?
5. Can I flash the phone with a more UK compatible firmware or am I stuck on the Chinese one?
6. If I do have to flash will it trip Knox?
7. Will the setting switch to UK/English or will I have to set this up?
8. Will future updates have to be flashed rather than OTA?
Thanks for any feedback - anyone have any more info/tips on using this phone in the UK (with ee if possible)?
I bought from China and I do not have any problems friend, and I live in Portugal, I imagine and should not have problems in UK as well. Everything works well.
You don't need to do anything, put your sim card in and away you go. I bought one from china and haven't had any carrier issues yet. Opened Google pay and it seems to let me be able to add information but haven't tested it in any shops.
During the setup stage change the language to English, I wasn't paying enough attention but you will see it in the drop down menu when you click more options come up.
I had a new firmware come through when I went to check it. But if you find a non chinese firmware snapdragon compatible let me know because I would be very interested.
Great - thanks for the replies - now just got to wait for it to arrive.
Does the camera make the shutter sound every time you use it? Heard that its default for Chinese mobiles.

Ordered a Galaxy s10+ from eGlobalcentral UK (it is the Hong Kong - Snapdragon G9750 version) and I'm on a Vodafone SIM-only plan (Contract).
This is what I found:
Wifi Calling - NOT working (the option "Wifi Calling" does not show under Settings in the Phone app)
VoLTE - working
Samsung Pay - working* (however it is the Hong Kong / Chinese version - it does let me register my UK debit and credit cards, but does not include UK specific features, such as the possibility to use on public transport in London without fingerprints, does have some Chinese language ads etc)
Google Pay - NOT working. This was the most surprising fail, as Google Pay was meant to work. It simply does not activate when you put the phone next to a terminal.
Anyone had the same issues?
Thanks
On Vodafone wifi calling works and so does Google pay

Using galaxy S10+ g9750 on Vodafone UK
Currently using the g9750 on Vodafone UK and I can confirm WiFi calling and volte work perfectly, Google pay is the UK version and Samsung pay is the Hong Kong version...so I stick to Google pay. Otherwise can't see any real downsides. The stock Samsung keyboard doesn't have the £ signs in the UK language keyboard so I've been using gboard instead.
If this helps anyone I have just received an S10 plus (G9750) orrdered via Wonda Mobile, I ordered it shortly before midnight last Tuesday and it arrived the following Wednesday (there was an option for "smooth" delivery costing an extra £7 which I paid).
I had heard Samsung Pay didn't work on the imports which didn't bother me, but zed_1984's post said that Google Pay didn't work for them, which was a worry. I can confirm it works absolutely fine on mine. I'm unable to say if VOLTE or Wifi calling work (Wondamobile say they don't) as my network (Plusnet) don't support either. I do have an option to enable/disable VOLTE, I noticed that the option to enable/disable wifi calling was greyed out within phone settings. After a google I restarted the phone in Safe mode, I was then able to enable Wifi calling and it stayed selectable following a restart into normal mode, but as I said my network doesn't support it.

You can easily change it via the language and input settings.
Change it to English (UK) and in the On Screen Keyboard menu, Samsung Keyboard to English (UK), it should be done.

Oh yes this has been done but still no pound signs, definitely the English UK is there but the keyboard layout is US
I've got pound signs on mine (I changed the input to English UK in language and input) - the £ signal is on the second screen of symbols (press the down triangle on the right hand side of symbols menu) along with dollar, yen, euro etc

It should be there, if not try what I said before, but then restart the phone and see if it appears, rather oddly it sometimes takes a restart/reboot for it to work.
Has anyone had any joy using the G9750 with iD mobile in the UK? Particularly interested in WiFi/VoLTE calling.

Thanks

My Google pay works too on the Chinese model. Check your settings again.

Great - thanks for the replies - now just got to wait for it to arrive.
Does the camera make the shutter sound every time you use it? Heard that its default for Chinese mobiles.

Did VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling work for you on EE in the end?
Bought a SM-G9750 from eglobalcentraluk.com, I can confirm everything works with 3 UK contract sim.
