First time installing crDroid to your Redmi Note 5/Redmi 5 Plus, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Yes! You can flash any GSI.

What a pity camera doesn't work... What about speed and battery life?

So the correct steps are:
Install recowery treble / complete cleaning / installation rom / gaps / magisk / reboot.:good:
Or can you use another recovey? if it is not remove the link recovery 3.2.1.0. because it is supposed to be already installed.

Camera doesn't work at all including third party apps.

For installing this ROM, we can use any recovery. For installing GSI, we need Treble recovery.

What do you mean by GSI? new firmware?
At this point you can update firmware before installing rom because recovery TWRP 3.2.1.0 (official) allows the installation of new firmware.
I apologize for many questions but it is to clarify everyone.

Use the latest official TWRP i.e. 3.2.x for flashing ROMs. And for flashing treble GSI, use treble supported recovery. Links in OP!

I flashing magisk 16.7 , magisk 17.0 magisk 17,1 and then it won't work i am still getting eror 1 how to fix this ?

Aaa i don't think so because i use latest twrp recovery 3.2.1.0
Thats all i know ususally magisk is working when i flashed with that recovery

Today added official GAPPS for Android 9.0 in opengapps.org

Just testing google camera looks like i installed gcam v8.2 and then you will see camera force close /crash i already set the camera api to 1 i hope gcam in the next build is no more crashing again

Oh, havoc os with pie didn't have much customization settings. So, just making sure again it also have traffic indicators? I can't live without them.

How to fix gcam crash

rom has the android boot password, i do not know what is the password, i have tried to wipe data but no effect.

thanks bro for the response. I already did, though. I checked the baseband version plus the build number--they are the same. so far everything's fine. I might do a clean flash on the next update.

Why does navigation bar pie in gestures disappears from options navigation bars at third boot ? :silly:

this rom does not work on redmi 5 plus, the non-stop cr droid 5.0 phone is restarted

Is gesture navigation included?
I mean full-screen navigation?

Everything is working in this rom. Volte working perfectly even after 3-4 reboots. No lags as such....rom is really smooth. IR blaster works.
No errors or bugs encountered till now in 1-1/2 hours of usage.

Which TWRP are you using? Please use the recommended TWRP recovery. And also please provide logs.

How to install TWRP Treble from TWRP official?
Using cdDroid 4.7 and official twrp right now. How to install vince_treble_twrp-jay-port-v3.img from there? Is there a flashable zip file?
Or do I have to go with the fastboot method?

Changed download link, you can use lineage based roms like AEX N or other noughat roms as base instead of lineage14 except (stock rom) as the stock rom camera hal is different.

Can't flash sailfish os zip, it gives error 7 and can't test it with twrp 3.1 as it times out when decrypting

Make sure its twrp from the original post, and you can ignore error if there is message 'Done!' after it, you said something with decrypting, if your storage is encrypted you will need to wipe internal storage aswell.
