I purchased an HTC U Ultra device but the seller sent me by mistake the Chinese version with no google play services and only English or Chinese languages.
I can manage with English as the device language.
As a solution I tried installing Google Play Services using an app called Google installer (version 2).
It did install (Google play services, account manager, Play store, contact sync and more), but all the time there was a persistent error message that Google play services stopped working, so I did not have a chance to check if things worked. I was forced to uninstall all of the apps that the package installed.
Is there other solutions to successfully install Google Play Services and play store and relevant services on the Chinese firmware ?

sorry. I this thread is different, it as not about changing the firmware like the other one. It is about accepting the current Chinese firmware. If it is against the rules - sorry again

Where can one find the latest Google Apps package ? It seems as though every ROM maker has a link to one that they package up and upload to megaupload or rapidshare and so on. I assume it's not available directly from Google or is it ? Or, does it have to be customized for each ROM ?

my guess would be that they are all the same but like with maps, once you have it, you can get it updated thru market so it doesnt reallt matter, but also certaint roms have special market.apk so if a app is out-of-date, it can proably just be updated thru the marker

i'm sorry if this was answered before but i searched and couldn't find the answer.
i'm trying to buy an app from the web based android market but i cannot send it to my device.
my hd2 is in the dropdown list but it's greyed out and i get this message: "this item cannot be installed on your device" .
i cannot download directly from the market app because we don't have access to paid apps in my country (although we do have access to them via the web based market ).
so, does anybody know a way to make google think i have a native android phone?

I arrived on this forum because I have a question about my new mobile phone.
First of all let me say that I'm a total noob about Android and the mobile phones, in fact till this moment I only used Blackberry just I decided to go into Android because I feel that is good to have the control of the device you are using.
I bought my Motorola Defy Mini XT320 last week here in Beijing (I'm living and working in China and I'm from Italy). Well everything is good, just on this device is pre-installed the Shop4Apps market where I can't find any of the application I need... Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin (this one so much) and reading around seems that if you have a pre-installed market you can't avoid to use it (maybe I'm wrong).
What I want to ask is: how can I root my devide and also after this action which things I have to do in order to be able to take the applications from the android's market that I prefer?

I really hope that someone can help me, just I really feel that the mobile is useless if I'm not able to install the application I want...

Your phone is very new, and it can't be rooted right now.
I understand that it doesn't have Google Play (android market)?
You can't install the GMarket without root, I don't think.
Others, maybe you have a solution?
My suggestion is to sideload apps you want.
This is to download the APK files of an app, say DropBox, and transfer to phone.
Then install using file manager.
facebook and twitter unavailable in china
you'r still unable to use facebook and twitter with ordinary network in china because of the network block by the government, even though the apps are installed. but it can be solved with vpn or something like that.

perhaps you could try Aptoide, it's an alternative market with all types of apps.
Install included .apk as well as Aptoide Repos(Search Aptoide!), hope this helps.
Android is no fun with Shop4Apps.
These are the steps:
Install APtoide, followed by Repos.
Search for apps, they will ask if you want to add stores.
Select the stores you want to add, then update stores.
Open Aptoide then use as normal market.

I have message : Google Play services, which some of your applications rely on, is not supported by your device , please contact management... I update google play services, but i have message ,, package file is not signed correctly . I download google play services from web, but in installation process, my phone write ,, App not installed. no the rom mentioned is gingerbread and its also a banned rom so I repeat no support here

Hello, I want only ask you about Google assistant .. I didn't get it on my a3 2016 phone probably because the langage is set in french. But same with english language and google assistant enabler I get google now but if the language is french I can see on the setting that GA will come soin but it's already release in france so it's from the google server side but why nothing appen when I have the language set in english ... I have try a lot of way using xposed module and magisk module on mm rom or app and zip and editing build.prop ...
So if someone can help me or maybe guive me more knowledge because they are many french user wanting GA with different decices without getting it
Download the latest Google app. Then go into app settings and clear its cache. And then go into apps then default apps then device assistant app and then set the device assistant app to Google. After you have done all of this, next time you long press home button google assistant will open.
