Xposed Framework on Android Yoga Book - Lenovo Yoga Book Questions & Answers

Hey,
did somebody try to install Xposed Framework on the book?
Its normal Android 6.0.1, so it should be work. It must be the x86 version right?

I personally have not tried doing this, but I've had a quick look around, and it seems entirely possible. It doesn't seem like Xposed depends on the actual hardware, but more on the software side - and since Lenovo's ROM is fairly close to stock Android M, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
I don't have the Android version of the Yoga Book, so I can't test this for you, but so long as you make a backup, all the hard work has already been done for you if this is something you want.

I tried it today but its not working. With the x86 file I got the message, that I need a correct x64 file. And with the arm64 file I got the error 255.
Any idea?

Hmm... Technically the Yoga Book is using the x86_64. However, the error your getting refers to something missing. So perhaps it's as simple as when you downloaded the file, something got left behind. Double check the checksum, or if you don't know how just re-download the file (the arm64 one)... If that doesn't work then maybe it does in fact need its own x86_64 build.
I'll have a look, but try once more.

I've had a quick look around and I've found that you do need to have a specially built version for x86_64, so you're not doing anything wrong. It doesn't look like many people have done it, but it has been achieved before. So if you have the time it may be something to do (or look further into the forums for a version of Xposed).
Hope I've helped at all, I'll try dig a little deeper later on.

I'm still having a look around, but before I shove more test builds down your throat for you to see if they work I need to ask; do you know how to fix a boot-loop? Because that may happen and I can't be liable for your device.
But if you're cool with that, I'll give you more things to test out ;D

On my Note 10.1 and Oneplus 3 I had some Bootloops during installing ROMs. The different was that TWRP was installed directly on the device. So I did a full wipe with it and bootloop are gone.
Is it the same here? Only that I habe to load TWRP manually with ADB? If so, then we can try.

Yeah, I mean you can install TWRP on your device, it's just not recommended at the moment as it can be unstable. But yeah, it's basically the same here.
Have you got your device Rooted? Because I'd like to test out Magisk's Xposed version on x86_64. It doesn't say that it supports it or not... and I'm not sure if it's just implied from the original compatibility. But I guess now is a good time to find out, and I'll be able to update my Megathread with the information.
To install it (assuming you're Rooted via Magisk - if not, my Megathread has the information) just download the Magisk Manager app from the Play Store, go to the "Downloads" section, and download the latest SDK version (I think it's 24 or 23...) and install that (if the option is there). Once that's done downloading, just go to this page and download the Material Design Xposed Installer, and follow the instructions there.
Hopefully that should work... but if not, that just means we're going to have to do more experimenting!
Installer link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/material-design-xposed-installer-t3137758

No success. If I try to install the Framework with Material Design Xposed I get the error message "Error 1 occured" either with x86 and arm64 file.

You need to download the Xposed SDK via the Magisk Manager with Magisk installed. There is no x86 or arm64 version of either. Also make sure you don't have the original Xposed Installer on your device, these two installers are incompatible.
Follow these steps:
1. Uninstall any version of Xposed you have of the original/official version
2. Install Magisk (check my Megathread for more information on that)
3. Download and install the Magisk Manager from the Play Store
4. Download the Xposed SDK (latest version) from inside the Magisk Manager
5. Download and install the unofficial Material Design Xposed Installer from the link before
6. Install Xposed from the Magisk Manager

Hmph. Well that is disappointing. I'm not sure if you've looked into the actual files of Xposed, but the other day I found that someone made a "patch" for one of the files. If you want to have a look inside the files you download and see if you can find this one, then that may be another experiment we could try.
The file is gistfile1.txt, there's also this extra information "gist:86ac06a6be14a6d9331b" - I don't know if that's anything useful.
My bad, gist is something to do with GitHub. But the contents of the file is still useful, but I don't know which file would need the patching.
The patched file is here, so I'd assume all you have to do is locate that file and replace the contents of it with this patched version, and then try to install Xposed (either via the Magisk method or the official method, up to you).
Hopefully I can either find more information about this patch or find something else you can try. Good luck!

I am having the same problems getting Xposed on this tablet. I tried the methods in this post but still can not get it. I cant find the file the you are referring to change. Anything else to try or maybe there is another way to accomplish what I am trying to do. I am trying to use "Hide Mock Location" to use "Fake GPS" so I can watch baseball on the "MLB at Bat" app. The app blacks out the game if you are in the viewing area. Last year I just used Private Internet VPN and Fake GPS and it worked this year that doesn't. I found this post https://www.comparitech.com/blog/vpn-privacy/mlb-tv-workaround-with-dns-vpn/ when searching that is what I am trying to get Xposed installed. Any ideas would be welcome

Hmm well to my knowledge no one got Xposed to work on the Yoga... but if you managed to follow my tutorial to install Magisk (I don't think SuperSU works) there are a few apps in the Play Store that allow you to set up a "mock location", but they require Root access.

Nexus 7 2012 on 5.1.1 -- any way to root it?

Hi all, kinda new to this whole game.
Couldn't find anything about rooting 5.1.1, only 4.2.2.
If there's no way to root 5.1.1, would you recommend reverting to 4.2.2 and then rooting it? Are there any improvements from using that version over 5.1.1?
Rooting 5.1.1 is the same way as on 4.2.2, unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and flash super su.
I would recommend you to revert to 4.2.2 if you want a better performance, but if you want to stay on 5.1.1 make sure to use parrotmod to increase performance
Nexus Root Toolkit make it very easy.
thanks for the tips. i was able to root it, but now i'm trying to install the Xposed framework and it's telling me
cp:write error: No space left on device
meanwhile there's about 5 gigs of space since i flashed it down to 5.0 from 5.1.1
interestingly enough, after i root it and try to install busybox, it tells me free space is unavailable for /system/xbin as well as all the other options i try to change it to (/su/xbin, etc).
anyone know if something went wrong at some point?

Thanks for the advice. How do I know what i can remove? If i flashed the tablet multiple times (tried diff versions of android), would that have bloated the /system partition?
Is there something specific i should be careful to leave in?

anyone know if the play store can detect that a device is rooted, and prevent pokemon go from showing up in the store?
or is it just not detecting on my tablet possibly from the model of tablet i have?
i checked the official requirements page and there's nothing 'targeting' specific devices, the device just needs to haev Android 4.4+, but i'm not seeing it in my play store for whatever reason.
(my device is a nexus 7, Android 5.0)
i do recall that, before rooting my device, i'm pretty sure i was able to see and DL pokemon go on this tablet when it was running 5.11 before the root was performed
nvm, i found a site hosting the apk for the app. now just trying to make all the pieces work together on the nexus 7
you need to install Magisk to play pogo on a rooted tablet. magisk will disable the root so pogo will load.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mod-magisk-v1-universal-systemless-t3432382
Flash a custom rom and install the nano gapps from http://opengapps.org/ if you want to install more apps.
But I wouldn't recommend it since it lags a lot without parrotmod speeding things up. Use the N7 2013 instead.
Magisk will not install on a 5..1.1 ROM because it needs systemless root and this is availabe only on 6.0 or greater ...
Thanks for the added tips. It's too bad this Magisk program only works on 6.0+.
I've tried everything detailed in this guide, including hiding the root with modules in Xposed, but i can't get the logins i created for PoGo to authenticate. I think i'm going to have to throw in the towel on this one.

you might want to rethink that. It works fine on my 5.1.1, as stated in the magisk post "Magisk supports all the way down to Android 5.0 (SDK 21+) (thanks to the new method and busybox environment)"

Don't use xposed, either don't install or disable when you don't need it. Someone mentioned that pogo won't work if xposed was installed, but i didn't think twice about it since mine worked with xposed installed, until today. So today I disabled xposed, then restarted, and it works again.
oh, thanks man. i'll def try it out -- see if i cant get it to work with Magisk. I appreciate you pointing that out

Pardon my newb, but this workaround method is what i'm trying to achieve through all this.
In short, rooting, then using Xposed modules to hide the fact that 'mock locations' is enabled and faking my GPS location with it. (we live in a tiny town and want the device location moved to a big city).
Without Xposed installed, is there any alternate way that I can hide from PoGo that mock locations is enabled? Per the method linked, that was the one way to make it work, at time of writing.
Or even better, since the linked method actually didn't work on my device (pogo account 'wouldnt authenticate' -- not sure why but assuming its caused by xposed or some kind of root detection), would you know of a different way to fake my GPS location and hide it from PoGo on a Nexus 7?
Just to clarify, I followed your advice and installed Magisk already.
So I have a Magisk-ready device, just not sure where to take things from here, since I realized my instructions uses Xposed specifically to circumvent PoGo

There is another way, but it will disable your ability to use gps . use lucky patcher to install your spoofing app as a system app, then you don't need to enable mock locations and don't need xposed since the xposed modules don't work anyways. after that, install an app called disableservice and disable the 3 locationsharing services in google play service. What this does is prevent your real gps to overwrite your mock gps data.
try at your own risk of being banned

[Root] Phoenix OS x86/x64 v2.2.0 (21 August) Rooted Images

Hi guys, the v2.2.0 release broke the ability to root without side effects on the Google Play Store, but a workaround is provided in the post. In this version, VPN works.
Notes:
A fresh install is highly recommended.
In this version, rooting breaks something with Gmail and Calendar causing them to not be able to sync. If you really need those apps, I recommend not rooting POS.
Instructions:
Download the correct correct system.img.7z file provided in the Download section and extract it
Install Phoenix OS.
Go to C:\Phoenix OS (or wherever your Phoenix OS installation is) and replace the system.img file with the one you just downloaded and extracted
Boot into Phoenix OS and finish the system initialization wizard.
Install Google Play Services v11.0.56: (x86 | x64)
Open Play Store, sign in with your Google Account, install the latest version of SuperSU by clicking the Update button.
-(Optional) If you for some reason cannot use the Play Store, you can find SuperSU on the official thread. Download the flashable zip, extract Superuser.apk from the common folder, and install it in Phoenix OS by opening the .apk file with the default file manager that comes with the OS. You don't have to do this step if SuperSU updated successfully in the Play Store.
Open SuperSU, click Normal to update the binary, and your Phoenix OS should now be fully rooted.

According to what users reported, your installed apps will not be affected I do prefer to replace it right after a clean install, but if that's the situation you're in, you could just replace the system.img without it affecting your data.img. If you're unsure, just do a backup/copy of the whole Phoenix OS folder if things go wrong

Anyone Running PH-1 Minus Google? Using F-Droid Only

I'm seeing more and more people use Android phones Google-free by not installing gapps and getting all their applications through alternative sources like F-Droid. When I look at the custom ROMs for the Essential Phone, I see most have gapps baked in.
Just curious if anyone has experience on the PH-1 without gapps or Google service. What ROM are you using? Any issues?

It has been a long process, but I am most of the way there. Used deodexed Oreo Stock. Had to use Tingle manually to patch the framework.jar to get microg running. Haven't debloated yet, but most of the stock apps are disabled at this point. Most apps I use are from F-Droid. Using it as DD now.
Took several days to discover the NFC point is very narrow at the bottom center of the back. I had thought I had broken something. :silly:
I think I'm 99.9% there with CarbonROM LOL...
UnifiedNip is registerd in system, but this section I can't checkmark, even after rebooting. I was using the latest Preview GMSCore, I'll flash the rom over and try with the Stable GMSCore and see if it makes any difference and report back.
I have Xposed, FakeGapps, Magisk 16.7, Magisk Module for F-Droid Privilege, and Debloater (Terminal), and F-Droid. Everything working pretty good, Debloater systemlessly removed some Gapps I didn't want, Browser, Calendar, Gallery...

I am using Core -127 from NanoDroid 17.7.
Debloater is up next.
Well I just wiped/formatted, flashed back the Oreo fastboot image, now ready to flash in carbonrom and try this as I said with the stable versions of microg...

Where did you see, get this at?
Ok UnifiedNIp is registered in system - [Checked]
To make everything work correctly, you'll want to push the GmsCore.apk to /system/priv-app/GmsCore/GmsCore.apk and then extract the lib/ folder from the GmsCore.apk to /system/priv-app/GmsCore/lib - otherwise the bundled libraries will not be found by the app and the maps library will crash apps.
If you don't know how to extract from an .apk, just rename to .zip, then copy out the lib directory.
I did have Xposed modules installed for this, so I will go back one more time, wipe it all again, and this time, see if I get it again.

I had the FakeGapps errors in the Xposed Log [systemless version 90.2-beta3]. Tried several things. Interesting you didn't experience them.
I was always able to get UnifiedNLP to registered. It just doesn't show that it has a known location in the microg self check, but SatStat, OSM and others show it.

Xposed showed a notification, I mean, you just looked in the logs, or how did you first know?
What is SatStat, OSM and others?
How are you installing microg? I just installed the apk is all, these versions and in this order;
Services Core - com.google.android.gms-12221403.apk
Services Framework Proxy - com.google.android.gsf-8.apk
Store (FakeStore release) - com.android.vending-16.apk
DroidGuard Helper - org.microg.gms.droidguard-14.apk
This is how I intalled microg on another phone and rom and it always worked.
So you have UnifiedNIp is registered in system - checked? For some reason I had to do the steps I mentioned to get it registered... hmm

I noticed I had an issue with FakeGapps because the MicroG self check showed that sig spoofing failed. At some point after that, I found the Xposed logs showing many errors for Null Pointer exception. I searched around but could not find anyone else with the issue. I submitted an issue on github.
SatStat, OSM are open source apps that will show location on a map. They are able to locate me so I know it is working using UnifiedNlp Settings (shows in the Setting > Location settings).
I installed microG using NanoDroid 17.7 using the full package.

I installed Xposed Framework 90.2-beta3 systemless through Magisk.
I'd use the Xposed Installer - XposedInstaller_3.1.5.apk;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
But I've learned a trick with it, flash rom and magisk, then install Xposed as the first app, and install the framework from within Xposed 'Install/Update' click cloud on right...
P.S. I'm not using Xposed any longer since it will break SafetyNet check....

Installing games with OnePlus 8 Pro

Hi XDA,
Phone: OnePlus One Pro 8
Model: IN2025
OS: Oxygen OS 11.IN11AA
Magisk:1469b82a (21101)
I recently rooted my phone and it works quite well, I have used Magisk Hide to 'hide root from my banking apps', it works so does NFC and google pay.
I hide the following service through magisk hide: (Banks, Google Play Game, Google Play Services, an authenticator (Duo Mobile))
1) However, I don't seem to be able to install some games from google playstore, namely : Eve Echoes, World of Warships, Warpath ..all of them download but give the error "Can't install, try again"
Is there a work around?
2) On a side note: is apkpure a trusted website (they seem to have APKs for everything)?
Thank you!
Cheers,
DV

I'm not sure about why google play won't work, probably you can try to wipe data and cache of the Google Play services and google play store and maybe that would work?
I have the apkpure app and it works beautifully, it updates my apps and games faster than the app store and even beta version you can find there. I mainly use apkpure so I can download games and apps that are "not available in my region"

Can I ask, have you got the dreaded lucky patcher installed?
If not then might be time to clear down play services, play store, play games etc, sign out - sign in
Try pushing the game by saying you want to install it via the web.
Go here and sign in, then find the game, choose your phone and itll push to your device, don't let the play store open the link

What modules do you have installed??

The only thing I have installed is systemless. I tried installing magiskhide props config to see if it helped; it did not, so I uninstalled it.
On the web, it says 'installed', but it isn't.
EDIT: I tried with another gmail account, reinstalling google play games.
Other online games such as Clash of Clans seem to work, so does Among Us and Genshin Impact.
The ones that don't work that I have tried: Eve Echoes, WarPath and World of Warships < All of these show up as installed on the web (but aren't installed on any android device that I own).
Eve Echoes downloads starts installing and gives the error unable to install.
Can some one who is rooted try if these games will work.
ok, one more interesting update: Netflix app seems to work, I thought it shouldn't work on rooted phones.

I think it's the game detecting it, not your system. Or Google play won't allow the installation if you're rooted on those games.

Ok so change to canary.
Head back to the normal magisk screen.
You'll see two install/update buttons
Top is magisk
Bottom is magisk manager
Update the manager, it'll download,, then click install.
Next click magisk then install directly
Reboot and you're done .
PS: have your original magisk patched img ready just in case but I've done this a LOT and have never had an issue, so you'll be fine.

One quick question, should I disable magisk hide (settings) and systemlesshosts before doing this ?
EDIT:
a) ok so I tried this, I disabled the magisk hide before attempting this, it detected my magiskpatch during direct install. When the phone rebooted things were a bit slow and my internet was not working. Another reboot and everything was fast again, but no luck with Warpath.
b) Tried to clear cache and storage for playstore and google play games. Shutdown the phone, started it again.
No luck.
c) I downloaded APKPure to try and download 'Warpath', it downloaded but would not proceed with installation., I had to manually click install APK.>The game starts and asks to download additional files..., files are downloaded and it fails to install.
In the grand scheme of things it would be great if I could install everything, I can get by with not installing these games. I fear that this might an issue with others apps as well although so far I have not encountered any problems.
Any other things I could try ?
2) On another note, I wanted to know how I could backup my active partition (just incase I want to try things and something breaks).
3) This might not be related at all, I noticed that my root folder (using solid explorer) shows 0B free of 1.42 GB. Is this normal that the root folder is completely full ?
Thanks!

DV

Yes it's tthat's similar to mine. It's possible that that's the problem but I've not witnessed that before, maybe it is the problem.
Ok so it seems were running low on fixes here..it's almost certainly a permissions issue, maybe the system space? I'm guessing!
Have you tried to mount namespace??
Did you hide magisk manager? Unhide it. Btw I don't mean magisk hide I mean the manager, then reboot.
I'm not sure if there is a way to reset all permissions to apps including Android system apps but that would be my next step.
Beyond that, remove modules and wipe system in recovery, it'll be you're system, apps, settings, but storage will remain, it's what I do if I need to start over as system is where 90% of issues reside.. You will need to fastboot boot the magisk patched img then directly install after.
If it's not that then it's a deeper problem and even though it's just a few games at the moment it won't fix itself, so without a tonne of troubleshooting then it'll be MSM or full zip restoring. Probably MSM though as you'll get fresh everything.
Hang on your internet didn't work??
That's a sign that you're using a boot.img from the previous firmware??
That could be the problem. Re download you're firmware using oxygen updater mate.

The only magisk patch I have is from the large file that the phone/oxygen OS downloaded to get me OS 11. You helped me on my other thread.

Oneplus 8T (Cyberpunk Edition) - HydrogenOS (Google Apps, Theme, OTA Updates!)

Originality/HydrogenOS
If you have a Chinese Cyberpunk Edition phone with OxygenOS, you'll notice that the Cyberpunk theme/assets are missing, and OTA updates lead to a boot loop. This guide will tell you how to restore the phone to its original software (HydrogenOS), unlock the bootloader, root it, and get Google Apps working. If you are American, this is the golden ticket. OTA updates will work and you will get the original theme/assets back.
I have made this guide because I purchased a Cyberpunk phone and the vendor installed OxygenOS. The Chinese Cyberpunk Edition phones are meant to use HydrogenOS. OxygenOS is not currently designed for the Chinese Cyberpunk Edition phones, despite many vendors installing it. I've spoken to Oneplus and it doesn't appear there are immediate plans to support the phone using OxygenOS.
This information is only for Chinese Cyberpunk Edition phones.
Rooting the phone is optional if you just want Google Apps.
Proceed at your own risk.
Setting Up
You're going to need to download and install these things for the remainder of the guide.
Minimal ADB/Fastboot (Download)
Oneplus USB Drivers (Download)
Qualcomm USB Drivers (Download)
If you've already been toying with the phone, you might already have these. If so, skip ahead.
Restoring HydrogenOS (Credit: Some_Random_Username)
You are going to want to download the MSM Download Tool, designed for Chinese KB2000 phones. This tool will wipe your phone and restore the original HydrogenOS software, as well as your Cyberpunk theme/assets.
You will need to download the tool here:

The difference is only in HOS version.
If your phone is made after march 2021, i suggest using latest one HOS MSM (google link).

After downloading:
Extract the archive to a folder.
Remove any Chinese characters from folder names (if applicable).
Open "MsmDownloadTool V4.0".
Under "User Type", select "Others".
Click "Next".
Notice that "Target" is selected on the dropdown in the top-right of the window.
Change the option from "Target" to "H2" instead.
Now make sure your phone is ready:
Turn your phone off and wait a few seconds.
Press the "Start" button on the tool.
Hold both volume buttons down, while plugging your phone in through USB (to enter Qualcomm EDL mode).
The download tool will begin to work it's magic (should take 200-300 seconds).
Once it says "Download Complete", your phone should reboot into HydrogenOS.
Close the tool completely.
Perform the phone's setup, then decide whether you want to root the phone, or just install Google Apps. Your phone will be wiped if you unlock the bootloader.
If your device wasn't detected when running the tool, make sure you have the Qualcomm USB driver installed. To do this, open device manager. Under "QHUSB_BULK", select "Update Driver Software", and use the .cab file you found earlier.
Unlock the Bootloader (Optional)
Before you may root the phone, you will need to do the following.
Enable Developer Mode:
Open your Settings application and go to "About Phone".
Tap the section that says "Build Number" five times consecutively.
You will now have developer mode.
Enable OEM Unlocking/USB debugging:
Open your Settings application and click the search button.
Search for and enable the option: "OEM unlocking".
Search for and enable the option: "USB debugging".
You will be asked if you want to trust the device when it's plugged in. Click "Allow".
You will want to do the following, using the ADB/Fastboot you downloaded:
Make sure your phone is plugged in.
Run the following:
adb reboot bootloader
Your phone will reboot into the bootloader.
Run the following:
fastboot oem unlock
Use the volume/power buttons on your phone, to confirm.
Your phone will reboot and wipe itself, as well the Chinese applications. Perform the phone's normal setup again.
The bloatware and Chinese apps will return when you perform an OTA update at the end of the guide. They can also be removed/disabled.
Rooting (Optional)(Credit: DroidFreak32)
To root the phone we will be installing Magisk, using a patched boot.img from your current version of HydrogenOS. In this case, we are using version 11.0.1.2 (the version of the MSM Download Tool). I will be providing the boot.img from my phone, which I have used personally.
You will want to download the following:
Patched 11.0.1.2 Boot.img (Download)
Canary Magisk Manager (Download)
Preparation:
Re-enable developer mode, as well as USB debugging. Just like you did in the previous section.
Transfer the app-debug.apk to your phone, and install it through the phone's file manager.
Copy "magisk_patched_11.0.1.2.img" to your computer's ADB directory.
Rooting:
Run the following:
adb reboot bootloader
Your phone will reboot into the bootloader.
Run the following:
fastboot boot magisk_patched_11.0.1.2.img
Your phone will reboot, using the patched boot.img.
Enter the Magisk Manager app you installed earlier.
Tap Magisk (Install) -> Perform Direct Install
You will have root on reboot!
If Magisk says it needs to reboot to apply changes, you will need to follow the last set of steps again.
If for some reason the boot.img I provided doesn't work, you will need to follow DroidFreak32's guide. His guide is very detailed and will instruct you on how to create your own patched boot.img and root the phone.
Installing Google Apps (Credit: Steve0007 and @xxxrichievxxx)
To install, you will want to obtain a copy of the Google Play Store from a 3rd Party. @xxxrichievxxx suggested this solution, which worked for me regardless of unlock/root status.
You'll want to download, copy, and run the newest version from your device:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-23-1-19-release/
We had also tried using WeebGapps, which has problems after updating:
https://t.me/s/WeebGAppsChannel?q=#Android_11+#magisk_mode (Requires Telegram)
Updating
Unlike on OxygenOS, you will actually be able to download and perform OTA updates, through the Settings app. If you do not follow the steps below when updating, you will lose root.
Disable your Magisk modules (if applicable) when updating, and re-enable after you have successfully updated!
I also recommend disabling "automatic system updates" via Settings, as they can break your root.
Follow these steps:
epr said:
- Go to System-Update
- Tap OK when the message that you are rooted appears
- Tap "Download and install"
- Wait until you are prompted to reboot - DO NOT REBOOT NOW!
- Open Magisk Manager, select install -> Install to inactive slot and start installation
- When Magisk has finished installing, reboot and you stay rooted with latest OTA.
Click to collapse
If you are missing the Play Store after updating, install it from here. If you happen to mess up or lose Google Apps, try uninstalling/reinstalling the module.
If you do happen to lose root, you will want to follow DroidFreak32's guide, as I've only provided the patched boot.img for 11.0.1.2.
Bloatware
You're probably annoyed by all the preinstalled garbage. I've made a short script that disables the Chinese market and removes all 3rd party Chinese (By_3rd and heytap) applications.
Removing Market and Almost All 3rd Party Apps:
Visit here: https://pastebin.com/raw/3SsA1tpc
Open notepad and save the above text as a .bat file.
Copy and run the file from your ADB directory.
You will likely need to run this script each update, as applications are added back on update. I've decided to leave the other applications on my device for now. If you want to remove even more, Steve0007 recommended this resource.

Google Play has installed fine in my tests. However, updating might cause it to get removed. I'd keep a copy of the APK in your phone's storage, just so you have it if you need it.

Went though this process to update, very well detailed. I went from Oxygen OS to Hydrogen then followed the rest of the steps to install Google Play.
I made the mistake of updating via OTA after restoring Hydrogen OS and had to repeat a couple step to get to the root step then followed the rest to install Google Play.
Youll need to download the 7z software to extract MSM software and one of the files needs a Telegram account. Its a messaging app that requires a phone number to create.
Also make sure you have the drivers sorted out, I had to do a bit of trouble shooting on the qualcomm drivers.
The cyberpunk theme is pretty cool.
I am having some spotty issues with google though, after updating OTA everything was fine but occasionally I will lose the play store. I have tried to directly install the apk and reinstall the module in magisk. But there is something kicking it off. The apps that I downloaded are still there, just the play store that drops. Edit: I am on module 4.0.4. Might try 4.0.5
Testing out the apps, I cannot get the maps app to work, keeps crashing. And for some reason I cannot log in to Chrome. It wont detect the account that is already logged into the phone (gmail, youtube etc) when I sign in manually it says 'This account already on device' I have signed in and out numerous times.
This is a pretty good solution to keep the cyberpunk theme, which you want if you have this phone. I get 5g speeds on US T-Mobile and have no issues with texts and calls. If the play store was more stable this will be a solid solution.

Went through the WHOLE guide and I too was able to revert back to the Cyberpunk ROM! Super COOL!!! I am extremely happy! Thank you!
Also would like to note that Android Auto also crashes
I've been reading and mentally preparing all the steps by downloading the required files and walking through them, but I've no development experience and I'm worried that if I mess up a step, I would have no idea how to unstuck myself...
For example:
If your device wasn't detected when running the tool, make sure you have the Qualcomm USB driver installed. To do this, open device manager. Under "QHUSB_BULK", select "Update Driver Software", and use the .cab file you found earlier.
Click to collapse
I tried to look up my device manager on my PC and I do not see "QHUSB_BULK" so little things like that worry me
Is it possible to convert European 8T to full cyberpunk version?

Do not use this guide for that. It will not work. There's other threads on how to install the Cyberpunk goodies for a normal 8T.

For the most part, any accidents are easily reversible, as there's a great guide on unbricking here:

It is as you say. Across multiple installs I've had minor issues with the Google Play store disappearing, but you can always reinstall the APK. I did not notice this until after I had made the guide.
@Steve0007 and I are looking for a more stable solution as we speak, so hopefully we'll have that soon!

You will need to download the tool here:
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=320230 (Credit: g96818)
Perform the phone's setup, then proceed to the next step. Your phone will be wiped again in the next step.
If your device wasn't detected when running the tool, make sure you have the Qualcomm USB driver installed. To do this, open device manager. Under "QHUSB_BULK", select "Update Driver Software", and use the .cab file you found earlier.
Unlock the Bootloader
Rooting (Credit: DroidFreak32)
Installing Google Apps (Credit: Steve0007)
To install Google Apps, we will be using WeebGapps (Magisk Module). There is no custom recovery available, so this is the best way to sideload Google Apps currently.
You will want to download the zip from this link:
https://t.me/s/WeebGAppsChannel?q=#Android_11+#magisk_mode (Requires Telegram)
After downloading the zip:
Transfer the zip you have downloaded to your phone's storage.
Open Magisk Manager
Select the Modules icon (looks like a puzzle piece)
Select "Install from storage"
Install the module's zip file
Your phone will reboot, with Google Apps
If you receive version errors when installing the module, download an older version. Version 4.0.4 worked perfect for me.
Updating
Unlike on OxygenOS, you will actually be able to download and perform OTA updates, through the Settings app. If you do not follow the steps below when updating, you will lose root.
Disable your Magisk module when updating, and re-enable after you have successfully updated!
I also recommend disabling "automatic system updates" via Settings, as they can break your root.
Follow these steps:
If you are missing the Play Store after updating, install it from here. If you happen to mess up or lose Google Apps, try uninstalling/reinstalling the module.
If you do happen to lose root, you will want to follow DroidFreak32's guide, as I've only provided the patched boot.img for 11.0.1.2.
Bloatware
You're probably annoyed by all the preinstalled garbage. I've made a short script that disables the Chinese market and removes all 3rd party Chinese applications.
Disabling Market and Removing 3rd Party Apps:
Visit here: https://pastebin.com/raw/3SsA1tpc
Open notepad and save the above text as a .bat file.
Copy and run the file from your ADB directory.
You will likely need to run this script each update, as applications are added back on update. I've decided to leave the other applications on my device for now. If you want to remove even more, Steve0007 recommended this resource.

Hello.
Thinking to experience the Hydrogen and using all related Google Apps at the same time but the file downloaded was in 7z format. Thought it is in zip format. How am I going to extract then?

You'll need WinRAR or another program to extract the archive. Apologies for the confusion.

Got it.
To be frank, how is it going? I mean with hydrogen os and having google apps workable at the same time?

After eliminating the bloatware, it's actually very nice. Asides from minor issues with the Play store vanishing, it should serve everyone's needs perfectly.
That said, I do encourage people abstain from installing the Google Apps if they are uncomfortable reinstalling the APK when or if it vanishes. We're finding a fix for this.

You mean, Google Play Store and/or Google Play Services, to be specific? It keeps vanishing even after all means taken into consideration?
Right now, I have already got the msm tool for hydrogen. Thinking about to go through it or not... hmmm...
