OK Google "Trusted Voice" not always unlocking the phone - LG V20 Questions & Answers

This is kind of a strange one. When I first boot up the phone in the morning and try to use the "Trusted voice" feature it makes me put in my password as well...I fully understand this because the phone was just turned on so it is a security feature. This is where the problem begins. The "Trusted Voice" feature will work for a while with no problems at all. Then all of a sudden, out of the blue, it will let me ask my request but then before giving me a response, it brings me to the password screen to type in my password and I get a little icon at the top asking me to setup "Trusted voice". When I click on the icon it brings me to the screen to setup up the Trusted voice but it is already set and I don't have to do anything?
I really hopes this makes sense...Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I just want to add that I have the Sprint version and I am not rooted.

Google Voice - disabling it

Does anyone know how to disable the Google Voice integration?
Right now the phone is set on using Google Voice by default and I cannot access the Google Voice icon nor change the settings when placing a call.
Thanks.
What do you mean you can't access the Google Voice Icon? If you mean that you can't find it, just type voice into the search box and it will bring it up.
Once you are in the app, press the menu button at the bottom of the screen and choose settings. Then choose the Making Calls option to change it.
Google voice icon and restoration
I mean exactly what I meant: the Google voice icon disappeared and there was no way to either launch it or reinstall it.
This is what I did to fix it: I did a clean phone from the bootloader and then I set Google Voice differently. I can now see the icon.
Just an FYI I think you can also change all of these settings by logging onto to https://www.google.com/voice

Click to collapse
I'm guessing English is not your first language because you first appear to be asking how to disable Google Voice, then say you cannot find the icon, and your fix is even more confusing, saying you cleaned the phone from bootloader and set GVoice differently. Vague. And this whole thread is pointless.

Setting up Google Voice

Hey everyone!
I'm in meed for some help! I am running CM7 and the sprint VCMC does not work with it so now I'm trying to get Google voice set up. I have gone through the set up numerous times and it still will not work. I am selecting do not use Google voice to make calls. I only want it for voice mail. So it prompts me to dial the *28 number, I get 3 beeps and then it hangs up. (I believe that is normal) . So after the set up is finished, when I call my phone it does not forward the calls the my Google voicemail, it simply says the call can not be completed please try again. I have gone online and checked the settings still won't work! I have deletes the account and tried again and still the same error. I know it works, since there are many people around here that use it. I'm sure this is a user error thing. So if anyone has any insight please let me know! I could use all the help I can get!
Thanks!
I know how to fix this!
I've had this problem before and it's incredibly annoying to experience, and almost impossible to find out yourself unless someone tells you.
It's simple really. You NEED a "google voice" number. I know you THINK you have one, but you don't.
Go into your gvoice account, and then voice settings. Right at the top there is a icon that says "get google number". It's free and quick. Once you have a google voice number, you can then get voicemail to work properly.
Hope that helps.
If you already have a Voice number, then did you set up your Evo to use Google Voicemail? I believe the option is in Settings>Call.

[Q] App for automatic pin entry?

I know what you're thinking.... what's the point of having a PIN if you want an app to automatautomatically enter it.
The situation is such that my company has a policy in place such that it forces my phone to require a pin when I wake it if my work email account is configured. Whats additionally annoying is that I use widget locker as well. So now when I wake my phone I unlock widget locker, then slide my droid lock slider, then enter my PIN - a process that has become extremely annoying!
So yeah... is anyone aware of something that would simplify the process, other than removing my work email account as that's not an option.
Honestly, if your company finds that you circumvent protocol, they can dismiss you. This is typical in end user agreements now a days as is for my company. I would remove the widget locker and place the pin code as your default code in general if that is all they are asking. It sounds like you have several layers to get on your phone when one would work and cover you in regards to your email.

S3 Neo locked via google dashboard, unlockpassword wont work

hi guys,
i got a little Problem.
My Mom lost her Phone (samsung s3 neo) and i locked it via google account manager, on the site were you can track you lost phone and let it ring. I set a message with my phonenumber and a passwort to unlock it ( it ask for a number and a special sign).
We found the phone but the password i set wont work and the screen only shows "enter password" without any message or phonenumber i entered on the website. (its my standart password so i cant be wrong...)
I try to set a new password on the google tracking site, but it wont aks for a new password again. only says locked.
Then i found some setting directly in the dashboard to lock your phone. i set a new password, it says phone lcoked, but the new password wont work neither (weired is, this form only ask for a number not for a special sign)
i tried her googleacountpassword, her pin but it all wont work.
i saw a video an yt with a bug in the lockscreen of the s3neo, but it wont work on my firmwareversion.
does anyone know how to resett the lock via the google dashboard or how to fix this issue? i cant be the first one, who got that problem.
I know i could resett it via factory menue but my mom had some stuff on the phone without backup...
maybe someone has some idea?
