Done with jIDE - Remix Ultratablet General

Good luck to you all. I've decided I'm done with Jide and will move to a company that provides support. Looking at the new JIde IO and IO+ elicits a comparison to Roku. I have 2 Roku devices, including a Roku HD that is 5+ years old. Got its last update in December of 2016, last time I checked. Compare that to the Ultra Tablet which is not currently being supported.
Mine is on ebay if anyone wants to take a look.
Good luck, but I doubt Jide will give a hoot about you as they have shown thus far,

Agree. Not even replies to the forums anymore either!

I completely agree. When I got my hands on the ultratablet I was really happy, the hardware is great and the software was promising. The lack of updates and support have really dissapointed me, nowadays I use my ultratablet maybe one or twice per month! Rather dissapointing for a company that we fully supported through Kickstarter.

I've heard there's a custom OS for the ultratablet in the works. I can't remember the name of it.

VERY curious as to what the hell you are talking about, hahaha. Any info would be great.

Any luck finding that link?

They don't want to open source their OS, they must be hiding something because when I asked if they had plans to open source it AND WHY they only answered that they don't have any plans to open source the OS but didn't say why.

They've released source code for what they are obligated to under applicable licences.

Edit: although rereading the XDA article, it can be misconstrued either way.

So uh... When is the WebOS Development forum going to be created? :)

So, now that Web OS Is gonna get in our hands as open source, is there any interest in developing it for our beloved hd2?
Really?
I am going to have to look into that (I am not a DEV just a curious) I had no Idea that they went open source!
Nice had a look into it, unfortunatly it may be a little while before they get it out. I bet with the brainpower here this could be on our phones in no time after it is released!

You seem to be in the wrong thread. Htc Hd2 is originally a windows mobile 6.5 device to which other OSes, particularly android, are being ported to.
This is the general thread for the hd2 android users. You question is equivalent to spam, has no relevance here and reduces the efficiency of others coming here to get solutions to their problems or proffer solutions to other people's problems.

Sorry. On a re-read I come across as being harsh. Did not mean to sound as such.

Out of curiosity what makes his comment inappropriate or considered spam? He is asking a valid question about whether WebOS will be ported to the HD2 just as Android and WP7 have......

and web os technically runs on a branch of linux if im correct
android=linux
lol.
@chrisrj28: I admit it, I wanted to post in hd2 general, but being given that booting linux is the first step that brought us ubuntu, android, wp7, etc on hd2, yes it could be considered that it may be placed here as well.
@the rest: Thanks for backing me up

Unite to get answered! (VoLTE)

Straight to the point,
Oneplus is really stubborn answering our questions regarding VoLTE update for Oneplus devices. Let's ask them daily by asking them openly on twitter with #opvolte and do not forget to tag @oneplus_Support and @getpeid. Screenshot attached.
Unite and get answered.
A disappointed customer.
Used LTE to post it. Couldn't call my friends to recommend this phone to them, no VoLTE.\

It is a device specific changelog.
It means that the ROM supports VoLTE but since our device doesn't have VoLTE enabled there won't be any ROM having VoLTE support till the Oneplus devs do something.
BTW I have tested it with Jio and it doesn't work.

Looks like our only option is spamming OnePlus on social media till they do something about it, or atleast give us an ETA.
Considering the amount of time they took to release an official marshmallow update (that too, just a community build), it might be as late as May 2017 before we see VoLTE on our OPX.
If you read their statements regarding VoLTE support, they have only mentioned that they'll be working with Jio to provide support for older devices. They have nowhere mentioned which devices they'll be supporting.
For all we know, they might end up offering support to only the OP2 and leaving OPO and OPX users in the dust.
TL;DR The more people that spam them on social media, the better the chances we have of getting VoLTE support.
I'm with you @MakDroid! Let's get #opvolte trending!

Samsung Galaxy J3 V

I've been searching for a while on how to root the Samsung Galaxy J3 V from Verizon. It's not the prepaid version. It's on a contract, but purchased outright. I've tried several methods to rooting this phone, but all have been unsuccessful. The phone is on Android version 6.0.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Don't know if you're still looking but I remember seeing some links on google today after doing a few minutes of research for my mother. She's getting one for free with a contract and I always looks and review the phones a bit before she gets one. I always try to find her one that I can at least root and install a recovery like CWM or TWRP. I remember several links when searching for verizon samsung j3v root and found a few. Below is an example I hope it helps. If it does please give me a thanks or whatever they're called I forget sometimes.

One other thing I forgot to add is that I almost always add xda to my google searches because more often than not, someone has already figured out what you need to know. Or do a search here..
---------- Post added at 08:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:06 PM ----------
Last thing I promise. I didn't mean search in a bad way, some people know to search some don't that's just the way it is so please don't take it the wrong way. I have been on forums before where people get very angry and rude if you don't search first. That doesn't happen so much here but most prefer you to at least be able to show that you've attempted a search. This also helps prevent multiple threads with the same issue. Also add some tags or add solved to the title too if you the above works, or if you post how to do it on you own and post how and or where. Looks like you're new to XDA so let me welcome you to the one of, if not the absolute best community I've found so far concerning android. I came over from Rootzwiki after following the developers for my devices here, as did many others, but I still refer back there occasionally for older stuff. Good luck and again Welcome to XDA!
Friend, does the method really work?

Can someone please explain why the oreo ROMs have the infamous mobile data bug?

I have been searching the forums trying to understand why every oreo ROM has the same unfixable(yet) bug . Can someone explain what the issue really is? Maybe. This could turn into a thread for brainstorming to solve it!.

our device hasn't had any official updates since MM so some of the components are makeshift or take from other phones. this is why things like this can occur

netmgrd keeps crashing on Oreo
There is a fix but it's so ugly that as devs we debate everyday whether we should apply the fix or not
If you're curious the fix is to declare oneplus 2 as a low memory device with poor CPU capabilities and disable a lot of features. While this does fix the data bug it causes way more issues than it fixes. Also it's not disabling the features that fixes the issue, netmgrd just wants to run in that state

And he is also correct just so you know
---------- Post added at 03:37 ---------- Previous post was at 03:25 ----------
Also @Dhaval Raichura there's no brainstorming you can do here or "discussion" on how to resolve the issue. If that would have worked we would have had treble and Android P booting on our device. I don't see discussion nor brainstorming being able to achieve that
Tell you what, start learning programming, lock yourself up in a basement for 5 years writing and reviewing code 24/7 and then get some experience at reverse engineering. Can't do it? Neither can us devs. If you pull it off proceed to reverse engineer netmgrd and rebuild it with the fix in. By the time you'll be done everyone would have already sold their phones. Discussion gets us nowhere really

Best rom of 2020 for Galaxy Note 3?

I know this questions likely been asked before but I couldn't find it and it likely would be outdated. I recently picked back up my Note 3 (Note 8 exynos user) discovering some guy had a custom rom that loaded Android 10 onto it. I love the look of the Note 3 and want to repurpose it. Just for video calls and google maps via tethering. Anyways, what's the best rom in terms of efficency, features, use, on screen time, UI and more?
To answer my own question I have concluded Havoc OS is the best as its official and works with Google Pay, I was also able to use my IR Blaster with no issues shich wouldn't work on Paranoid Android or Lineage. Also being unofficial meant the lack of support when having issues was non existent. So if you want my recommendation go Havoc, Im sure most are aware as it has far more downloads than the others.
Can you guys really not stop this nonsense questions? Jeez, there is no best rom no best kernel, everything is personal flavor.
Stop demotivating good devs! Just flash the roms and try them out like it should be done.

For one I'm new to this forum, secondly I'm asking for personal opinions on which rom has the best usability in each different areas of mobile usage. If a developer actually gets demotivated because their rom isn't named best rom or 2020 then they're highly insecure and instead should look on working harder to improve what they're working on. There is nothing wrong about having a personal preference and that is what I'm asking for, PREFERENCE. You could like the absolute worst rom if you justify what's good about it.
OP there are only about 3 roms current nothing to stop you trying each via Nandroid .
As for EXYNOS probably even less see exynos development .
Personal opinion stock rom .

Yeah, Ive not got the battery to 100% confirm if its exynos but since my region is exynos I'm assuming it also is. Thanks for leading me to the right place.
EDIT: So I googled my device, sm-n9005 which of course is the 4G version and says it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. Though I'll just check the phone itself when I get a replacement battery tomorrow, thanks again.
