Can I use CF-Auto-Root to root my Yotaphone 2 YD201? - YotaPhone

I am currently running Android 5.0 with the official EU Rom LRX21M.5.0.0-EU1.1.124b and am looking for an easy and safe way of rooting my YD201 phone.
I saw a video on YouTube that "claims" it is possible to root the YD201 with CF-Auto-Root.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67ymFf2-Ty8
That tool can be found on XDA here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/cf-auto-root-updated-with-support-for-over-300-devices/
It looks good and easy, but the Yotaphone 2 is NOT listed there as being compatible and I do not want to brick my phone.
https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ List of compatible phones.
Has anyone tried this and if not, what is the best way to root the phone?
Would it be better to wait for Marshmallow to be officially released before trying this?
Regards
Peter

need help for rooting

I'm new to here. I have an Asus tf101-x1 (the BlackFriday version from Bestbuy), it says B90KASxx on the box, and the firmware is US_epad-8.5.5.9-20110816. I tried to use Razorclaw to root my device, but failed, it tells me that it lacks some file needed, I need some help for rooting it. After reading some threads, some members say that it works for their B90, is it an issue of my firmware version? if it is, what version do I need to root it? or is there another way around to root it?
Your question was answer in the other thread.

I don't think you can for now. Razorclaw needs the firmware to be at 8.6.5.19 (or .18), and you can't get there through OTA updates. B90 can't get a custom recovery unless its rooted, so you can't flash the rom.

Root SM-G928V Question

Is there a method for rooting the SM-G928V yet? I am seeing roots for other models but can not locate a root for the Verizon model. Any advice?

I believe there is a root for g928v 5.1.1 but not 6.0.1. I have 6.0.1 and it's driving me nuts not being able to root. I wish I could downgrade to 5.1.1.
Alright it is 2020 and still no root for this phone. How and why? I am willing to pay a $500.00 bounty for any XDA developer that can get the stock ROM write the code and get the SU access. I have a SM-G928V Android Version 7.0 Security Patch Level August 1, 2017

YD206 vs YD201

Hi!
I got a new YD206 phone with android 4.4.3 on it. I want to go up to 5.0 but I can´t find any root for YD206.
Is the YD206 and YD201 the same phone except for the radio? Is it safe to use images for YD201 for the YD206?
I´m talking about TWRP for example, is it working with YD206? All threads with TWRP are referring to YD201.
Yes, except for the radio they are the same models and all firmwares work on all models.
You don't need root to yotaflash the yd206 to Yd201 lollipop. You can get root with Twrp later. I didn't root mine. Most posts on here are from people who bought yd206, because it is more readily available and cheaper.

Yes, but I want to root my phone as well. But now I feel confident on that the images for 201 works on the 206.
Thanks for clearing things out. Now running rooted lollipop with TWRP and xposed.

Just updated Jan 14, now I can't root my phone?

What can i do to solve this problem? is there a way to restore a previous version without rooting it? because i obviously can't do that... N900VVRSEPL1 is the version i have.
See page 3 of "Official Verizon Update???" thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-note-3/general/official-verizon-update-t3538935
This (PL1) update appears to be a security patch release, so it's probably not surprising that former rooting methods for OB6 & OF1 no longer are working - that's the point of security updates.
Same experience here. I would bet that however these tools are getting root will probably work on PL1. It seems that in running the tools, the tools simply don't recognize PL1 as a working version and don't try. I don't know that for certain, it's just a guess.

New to rooting

Hey, all im new into the world of rooting and i have a couple of question regarding rooting
I have a device Huawei p smart FIG-LX1 with android 9 and i would like to root it but the guides on the internet always says something different, so im kinda tangled with this whole thing, i found this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p-smart/how-to/how-to-root-huawei-p-smart-fig-lx1-t3752705
but i dont understand it
Hello Panieldakula
You want to root your Huawei P Smart (FIG-LX1 with Android 9) but it seems difficult to do, right?
Have you tried a one button rooting software? It did not work or why do you want to do it manually?
These "one button rooting" solutions are usually fake/malware or only work up to Android M.
If there is any tool to flash stock firmware like there are for Samsung and Qualcomm devices maybe it's possible to flash a signed TWRP to recovery and then use Magisk to root.
I have done this to other devices in the past although only for devices that came with Lollipop or Marshmallow. ButI have searched for such tool and didn't find anything for P Smart, maybe someone that has more experience with Huawei device can point to some solution.

Thank you lfom,
I hope you are right and someone can point the new guys to the right direction.
Similar to Panieldakula I am new to rooting and the instructions given by Veromax seem not to be too user-friendly.
Well, if no other manual exist I might go through the instructions line for line.
However, there are probably easier general manual I could start with, or?
Do you or does someone have a recommendation?
Thanks.
AFAIK the only way to root and install TWRP so far is by using the unlock code that only works with an earlier version of MIUI 8.1.
