plz delete ur imei numbers and the serial number from the last post, what version of CM did you use?
this is the right one for a5_dug and it works fine just make sure you make a full wipe before flashing it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/orig-development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-13-t3350040
and yes you can flash the stock you mentioned its LP

i already flashed the version you refer to but can't detect the sim
do you have any idea about the suitable twrp version ?

It won't work mtk is a short for media tech which works with phones with media tech processor.
I need the RUU too (same software and radio version ) cause I get (disconnected because service is unavailable) error and after some diagnostics it appears to be a software problem.

Would be great also if anyone could provide me with TWRP/CWM backup for my region device.
You should probably remove/edit out your serial number and IMEI just in case.

If you didn't update to lollipop/marshmallow officially before "you don't have LP/MM firmware installed b4" you'll get wifi/touch problems when you flash any rom based on them .. its in the OP of the rom.

You need to S-OFF your phone to fix this as i don't think there's a second option
I not have any problem with downgrading Marchmallow -> Lollipop. You just need to flash TWRP v3.x.x.x and then wipe all partitions. After that in bootloader there should be an OS- instead of OS-*romversion*

I have an S-ON device and i don't have any problems with downgrading from Marchmallow to Lollipop.
If i want to downgrade my device I:
1) Flash newest TWRP available to this device. (3.x.x.x)
2) Wipe all partitions (system, data, cache etc)
3) Upload 0PFJIMG.zip to your SD Card.
4) Flash Stock Recovery
5) Lock bootloader
6) Start flashing RUU (0PFJIMG.zip)

Press the two volume buttons and the power button, when the black screen appears, release the 2 buttons (volume + and power button) and hold the volume button until the load is loaded into the loader (in the bootloader menu choose the power off the smart should shut down)

m9 plus unlocked with htcdev. Not sure exactly what version it is.

It is not branded, and is carrier unlocked. I think its a euro version but want to make sure before I play with it to much.

Thanks alot. last phone I had was the one m8 and it was awesome.

How to restore a borked M9+ from a non-borked device

Hi.

On the gunmetal one I installed TWRP and rooted it, but being a noob I didn't fully update it first and now I can't take an OTA. My whole approach was wrong I think. I'd like to get the gun metal one back to stock and start again and was wondering if I could use the working one to do so. I did a lot of research trying various ways to back up the working phone:
Trying to boot CWM via fastboot boot so I could create a backup. Apparently this won't work on this phone.
Trying MTKDroidTools / SPFlash, but it seems the MTK6795 isn't supported with those tools
Using ADB to backup, but since my phone is not rooted it will not work. From what I understand if the phone is rooted and/or the root partition was mounted read/write you won't be able to take an OTA so this method wont work either.
Is there another method I am missing where I could backup my entire working phone to flash the one I messed up? I know RUU is a possibility but I'd really like to go this route instead as all most of the locations to download RUU's seem a bit sketchy. Should I even be concerned with this if I can find a signed RUU?
THanks for any help.
simon
