Google Nexus 5x's Bootlogo and Bootanimation - Nexus 5 Themes and Apps

Hi everyone! I've modified the google logo on boot from the old one to the new one, and I've ported the Google Nexus 5x bootanimation to the Nexus 5.
Bootlogo is centered as the bootanimation logo is.
There are two version of the bootlogo, the first is with the lockpad visible, the second is with the lockpad not visible.
Google logo at boot with lockpad preview
Google logo at boot without lockpad preview
Bootanimation preview (it will be faster on your phone, this is only a gif)
How to install:
1a. Download the bootlogo (with lock or without lock)
1b. Download the bootanimation
2. Copy them to your SD card
3. Flash via recovery
4. Reboot and enjoy!
Special thanks to bitdomo for his imgdata tool.

Looks great, thanks!

Awesome, thank you! It would be great if you can make a flashable zip of the bootanimation, it's easier than replacing manually everytime I update the ROM. Thanks!

That's nice
Also, if you don't mind, just a suggestion: remove the last 3 frames from part 3, they're just causing a glitch
EDIT: Here is the fixed zip (still not a flashable zip): https://goo.gl/oxpt4r

Thank you! I will make a flashable bootanimation zip this saturday if I can

I've made a flashable zip that installs the fixed bootanimation (there were 3 unusual frames on the third part).
I'm going to work on a unique zip that installs both bootlogo and bootanimation, if there is anyone who can help me, send me a pm

I've re-uploaded the bootanimation zip because of an error in the binary file, now the installation via recovery will work

Thanks!

IT'S SO AMAZING
Thanks you so much! This looks simply beautiful.
It works, and it's amazingly seamless.

Loving these.
Does anyone know if I can flash on Nexus 7 2013 (Flo)?
I assume not due to the difference in screen resolution, if so would it be possible/difficult to edit?

Working pretty nice in last official M image, thank you!

I don't know why a boot animation for the N5 wouldn't work for the N7. As the N7 screen is 1200x1920, you'll have black bars, 60 pixels wide, on the east/west sides of the screen. It probably won't be noticeable, unless you run a full screen animation with a bright background.

Can I request for a 480p version?

We decompiled the recovery img file of HTC One to have the first the ui.xml file then you modify what you want.
You need an ui.xml file of TWRP Recovery from any 1080p device. It doesn't matter if it's for the Nexus 5 or not.
OK. That is another way... If I have some time I will decompile and start. Some ideas about a hammerhead styled one

Of course it can be ported to 1080p.
Actually we have created a guide to port TWRP themes: How resize/edit a theme TWRP
so I'm assuming due to the instructions only 1 theme at a time 1 ui.zip so I can not have many & choose / browse between them correct ?
I have to choose which to name ui.zip & commit to that until I pick another & name it ui.zip ?

That is correct
Is there..I say ever but of course there's always a maybe..so a likely chance a corrupt ui.zip might **** up my recovery ?
Render it unusable etc..just thinking doom & gloom worst possible scenario..ha

i tried using a theme that wasn't meant for my tablet once...lost a few features, the rendering looked obviously meant for a phone...went into the file manager and just deleted it, rebooted back into recovery, all good. that's probably the worse case scenario possible (and now you know how to fix it should you be a dummy like me) :silly:

[THEME] MATERIAL BOOTLOADERS (multi-color)

MATERIAL THEMED BOOTLOADERS
These are material-styled bootloaders I've created using photoshop and the excellent bootlogo tool from @bitdomo
I've created lots of them and improved as I got some time.
The first editions (v1) are named as material_(color)(icon color)
The second ones (v2) are named as material_(color)v2
Changes: Top icon changed to settings icon
The third ones (card style) are named as card_style and each color folder have two bootlogo options: black background (black) and inverted (light)
The fourth ones (card style) are named as cardv2 and each color folder have two bootlogo options: black background (black) and inverted (light)
Changes: Added text "choose an option"
To do: You suggest me and I'll update when I want to and have some free time
V1 previews: http://imgur.com/a/5Z3Ta

You have to flash the stock bootloader.img of your current android version manualy. Thats all!
You simply need the file and you can re-flash it with this command
fastboot flash bootloader filenameofthebootloader.img
Does this work with all phones....or only nexus 5 ?.

Edit: Figured it out myself, but I can't figure out how to change the color of the full bootlogo like you have there. Just the google logo and lock.

As far as I know the bootloader is the same since KK. I'm using it with Android M.
To restore just use fastboot to flash stock img or flash the stock zip at bitdomo's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/tool-change-boot-logo-images-t2763698
Isn't the last one hhz12f which comes with 5.1.1?

No, it has different imgdata partition.
IIRC there's also an imgdata tool for shamu, you can make your own material bootloader with it.

Google Pixel Themed Bootlogo and Bootanimation

I wanted a more complete Pixel boot on my Nexus 5, so I modified the bootlogo to display the first frame of the Pixel boot animation for that smooth boot transition.
I created logos with and without the lock (Updated the lock to the Nexus 5x lock)
Tested on bootloader HHZ20h
How to install:
1. Copy zip to storage
2. Flash via recovery
3. Reboot and enjoy
Special thanks to bitdomo for his imgdata tool.
