Should I switch?? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been a BlackBerry user for a long time. Currently using the Passport SE. While I love the bb10 OS, I'm wondering about how long the OS will last. Should I switch to nexus 6p? I'm not a big fan of android. But with plain android version I might be OK. Mainly I use the phone for emails, texts and talk. Not a big fan of apps. I would still miss the BlackBerry Hub and the fantastic email client of BlackBerry. Is this worth considering??

Bought the Priv and returned it in a week. Didn't like android and the slide out keyboard. Plus I was missing the bb10 features too much. That's my main concern with nexus as well. Not a big fan of android.
Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

Let me put it this way, I've not heard once on XDA from Nexus owners that they miss a BlackBerry device! But its your choice...

Why get a nexus if you don't like android?? It'll be less similar to BB than the Priv is.

Exactly. If you didn't, never mind. I have s classic sitting here and some hub features are nice but I'm enjoying the nexus, wow. Night and day compared to my note 4 touch wiz really changes your perception of Android

Hell no, don't want one period.
I would definitely consider it because I run the Mac platform and I like the look of the phone and how the OS works. All of the camera face-offs I have seen have iPhone winning, and as a sometimes photog, that sorta matters to me.
However, the whole Adobe Flash thing has me reconsidering what I'd have to give up to go iPhone. This full HTML web thing has me whipped. And, the customization and rooting capabilities can't be beat.
I'm pretty much in love with this phone and have found workarounds to do what I need to do on a Mac. I'm blown away daily with the Incredible.
It may be an easier decision to make when my contract is up in 2012. So we'll see. Then again, we have no idea what's in store next year. If its the iPhone 4, then I will have to pass. That's old news.
I have both a rooted incredible and a jail broken iphone 4. To be honest, once you break the shackles of the manufacturers, both are great devices. I would recommend an iphone over an incredible if you just want a simple elegant device. But if you like more control over your devices, like tinkering with it everyday, the droid platform is much more interesting. That's why I spend my day on the incredible and the iphone is my backup phone.

I had an iPhone and now a Droid I would never go to an Apple phone ever again after going to Android.

Love my phone, looking forward to when I upgrade in the future. I'm really interested in what future hardware and networks will offer. Faster cpu, faster networks, pico projectors and more.

I have gone to the darkside

Yes, after trying to resist, I caved and bought an iPad 2.
I simply needed it for a couple of essentials. Full iCal support and a couple of apps to use with pro-tools at work. One being V-control the other air display.
But I am keeping my vibrant.
I must say, that I find iOS definitely lacking in various areas.
Most notably no widgets. I prefer the Android app draw and personal window customization, and I really don't like the iPad contacts app.
Hey, I have an iPod, but I'm not ashamed. I like it for the battery life. I will always love my phone more though.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
No need to feel ashamed. They're great devices. I find that Android and iOS really go hand in hand and compliment each other very well.
They are good retail units, but little to no customization really. That and after costs............ too bad you couldn't wait until EE transformer by asus that is the one........ good price point and best of all worlds
Ipad 2 is the only device i would be willing to buy from Apple.

Yeah, iPod and iPad are the only products worth buying from Apple.
No shame in buying apple. They make damn good products.
I bought one to. Does anyone kno how to jailbreak the ipad 2? Does apple have a xda like community/forum?

No jailbreak for the iPad 2 4.3.1, yet...not sure what they did to secure it beyond the iPhone 4, but they did. Only a matter of time before we get our homebrew on.

iphone-developers.com is xda's sister site for apple stuff.
There's nothing wrong with owning Apple products, i have 3 iPods (diff. Gens) and a iPad 2
No shame in it, they make good stuff just not the BEST stuff.
Apple is good for a couple things. Secure info, speed and memory when using large apps. Other than that they are money hungry fools who can't share their developement to make them better

I really wished a PC manufacturer could design a laptop using the aluminum unibody that the macbook pro uses cause its stunning.

Reasons why your still with the Nexus S?

Hey guys, I was a older nexus user and after getting many phones(I have a sensation) I'm getting a nexus again. I'm trading my senny for nexus S and a Samsung infuse 4g.
So why are you guys still with the nexus? Reasons?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Because I can't afford another phone. Lol. Well part of the reason. I actually enjoy the community support and see no other reasons to upgrade. My phone does what I need it to without any problems. My next phone will be a GNex, but I'll probably run this thing into the ground before then. At least I'll have saved up enough by then.
Sent by pocket technology
That's cool. For spem reason, this phone looks amazingly sexy. And in hand it feels the best than any other phone
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
I quite like my nexus, but the main reason is, that there is nothing extraordinary about new phones.
My nexus can perform smoothly, any task i need to do( i don't play games).
I'll upgrade at the end of the year,
hopefully till then , they will be able to sort the battery life and use more efficiently front panel,
to fit screen.
I'll would love, to have bigger screen, although not at cost of carrying mini tablet in my pocket.
Because I am not a fool that constantly goes out and buys the latest and greatest phones for a big e-peen.

+1 This phone is smexy! Plus, I really don't see a significantly better speed increase on my friend's GNex... They do everything at roughly the same speed!
guys, what is a good extended battery that is under $20 or $15 that is good and doesnt need a different battery door?

Just buy a spare. Those cheap extended ones aren't really that much better in performance from reports I've seen online. You can't bump up the maHs without increasing the size of the batteries just yet.

HAHAHAHAHA Priceless!!!!!
Apple really doesn't realize that a lot of Android users will not switch to Apple, even if the iPhone is the last smartphone on earth. I'd happily go back to a basic flip phone even if someone offered to pay me to take an iPhone
(I didn't say I'd refuse the offer - I'd use the money to buy a phone that I wouldn't hate myself for using, and the iPhone would be an ugly coaster/doorstop/replacement clay pigeon...)

I don't see why companys have to play dirty like this--it won't gain them much marketshare in reality. SGS II is just a better phone than iPhone, and Apple needs to understand that people will be upset if they're the ones responsible for it being removed from the market. Just my $.02

I hope Tim Cook and his lawyer cronies get a shoe to the face in public. Even though the Epic 4G is several generations old it's still better and has more features such as 4G, >3.5", AMOLED, micro SD card slot, removable battery, slide out keyboard, etc. than the latest iPhone 4S. Only the iPhone5 will be catching up to it.

This is exactly what apple wants you to do.
well, seeing that litigation doesnt happen without leeches and leeches dont litigate without money, this should go on for another decade or so considering the 1.5 billion settlement.
These actions from apple are what are known as cunning, and cunning is nothing more than the attempt to take down anyone around you while you are collapsing.
These are funny:

Spent the whole day playing with it today after buying it from a local Gamestop. It's great. Enjoying it much more than the previous Nexus 7. The screen is beautiful and the dual speakers are a breath of fresh air compared to the tinny sound of the mono speaker we had previously.
