Found a potential fix for VoLTE, Speed on VZW - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dial *#*#4636#*#* on the dial pad, on the top right menu select the option to Select band on the next screen, select Band 6. I am constantly locked on Band 4, after making this change and my internet speeds has jumped significantly.
Please be advised, that you need reboot your phone and it might take about 15 minutes to sync your new settings to VZW servers after you make this change.
Let me know, if this helped anyone else.

I tried this and idk if it helped lol

I know Band 4 is XLTE, but what's Band 6?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

In the selection band, you dont have Band 4. You need to select Band 6 from the list.

How do you see what band you're currently on?

Use LTE Discovery app.

It says it changed to band 6 but LTE discovery shows band 4 even after a reboot

It is supposed to Show Band 4 on LTE Discovery. That is good. Now do a speed test and see improvements.

no improvement here. same ping and upload speed. dropped 6Mbps on download speed.
how to i change back since there's no option for band 4 in the settings?

If you selected Band 6 in that Menu, that should connect u to Band 4 or Band 13 on Verizon. Open LTE discovery app and see which band you are connected on now.
But if you want to revert back to your previous settings.. You can do a network reset from the backup & menu option under settings.

I don't have any issues with VoLTE or speeds on Verizon.

This worked, very good! I was experiencing slow speeds, especially upload speeds and this fixed it!

[Q] [N9002] Galaxy Note 3 Duos Enable LTE Band 4 from Service Menu, Does this work??

Hi All,
I stumbled across this as I am currently not in the US to test this out. Could someone see if this actually works? It supposedly enables the LTE band 4 on this phone even though specs say that there's not LTE on it. I was hoping it would be there as it has the same hardware as the N9005.
According to the Service Mode on the N9002, you can enable VZW LTE Band 4. I believe T-Mobile also uses this band for their LTE. I enabled it for me, but I am currently in an area that I can't test it. I posted screenshots of the Service Mode, and a video capture going into the menu.
How to enter service mode:
1. At phone dialer, dial *#0011#.
2. At the service mode, hit the menu key, and select back. It looks like it did nothing, but go to the next step.
3. Hit the menu key again and select "Key Input" and type "Q". It looks like it did nothing, but go to the next step.
4. Hit the menu key again and select "Key Input" and type "0000" (zeros).
5. Wait until you see "Main Menu"
6. Select [3] LTE
7. Select [2] LTE RF
8. Select [1] VZW LTE B4 on/off
9. Select B4 Enable(). It should now have an asterik in the parenthesis.
10. Reboot phone.
Here's a screen capture on how to enable it.

If anyone can confirm this works, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks.

I tried this on the N9002; Dual Sim variant.
If you have a different version, this might be better for you as I didn't have a custom kernel for mine.

I just ran the process and my phone rebooted without problems (N9005). Now, I just have to get an LTE sim card for a network that runs on those bands (I'll try to do it on this weekend and confirm if it worked).

We have the same phone, sorry I didn't mention that. I'm running a custom rom, witch I guess is only an advantage... But you enabled lte band 4 and in Sweden my carrier has band 3. I checked the other "how to" but it seems a little bit complicated and I'm a little bit worried about messing things up.

It should be fine. I've done it a couple of times and it rebooted fine and connected to the area cell signals, just the area i'm currently in doesn't have any LTE.

I have a n9002, but i'm in Italy and VZW LTE Band 4 are not used here.
Thanks

I tried here in mexico. Telcel ,Movistar, and Nextel both use band 4 for LTE. Did not connect, only H+, but also there is no menu option to switch to lte only wcdma and gsm.

I don't have a way to try it right now(my n9002 is at a repair shop atm), but would you mind trying this? the article says to modify the /data/property/ persist.radio.lteon file to "true" and “LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)” should show up as a selection of network preference. Can you let me know what your results are when you try it?
//smokeys.wordpress.com/2014/04/06/how-to-enable-lte4g-on-samsung-galaxy-note-3-sm-n9005/
Sorry for the long wait, wife had phone. The file was already set to true. No lte option in Network Mode menu.
Thanks for trying. I realized that my bootloader is locked so I can't flash a permissive kernel. I think that would've been able to do it I think... oh well
My SM-N9005 was crahed 4G/LTE when i test that... even if I disable, my 4G not working now
How I can deblock that ?

I try this and I still have only 3G/H+ on n9002.
Probably Samsung does not include LTE Modem

I did all your steps. But in RRC (Service mode, main page) i'm still see "RRC: IDLE, Band5" and i don't connect to band4. I checked and that band is activated.
Why?

How To: Selecting/Deselecting network bands

First want to put it out there that you do this at your own risk
I love that T-mobile has Band 12 LTE coverage but for me the data speeds on Band 12 are horrifically slow, so I prefer my phone to be on Band 4 LTE (at least while at work).
I used to do this change all the time on my S6/Edge and the steps are vary similar to do them on the S7(slightly more involved).
To start with, if you mess with bands, it can(and probably will) affect some sort of your service
So to change network bands you have to enter the service menu. To do this, go to the phone dialer and enter
*#2263#
Once here you will see a screen saying ServiceMode followed by various options
To turn off Band 12 choose LTE Band Preference (#4 on the list).
Then hit next page until you see Band 12 and deselect it (this will remove the * from next to it).
Once that is done, in the top right you'll see where it says "More" select this and choose "Back" - do this until you get back to the main page
Now back at the "Main Menu" choose "Apply Band Configuration" (option 7) and you're done.
Once you exit the menu(by hitting either home or the back phone key) you'll lose signal for a second while the phone switches the bands around.
To revert back to normal, enter service menue *#2263#, choose "Select All Bands"(Option6) and then Choose "Apply Band Configuration" and you're back to normal
Hope this helps someone
EDITed the info above so that you can turn off just Band 12 and keep calling features
Updated the instructions, figured out how to make the phone stick to Band 4 and still retain ability to make/receive calls
Oh Ya band 12 is terribly slow. At least when compared to band 4. Band 4 is wideband at 20x20 20mhz bandwidth while band 12 is 5mhz bandwidth. It's just barely enough.
I was wondering why my speeds suck since I've upgraded to a new phone guessing this is why
Do you have any approximations of the speed difference between the bands, like with speedtest or something?
I didn't notice any difference in speed with my tests was really hoping for better. I'm only getting about 15-20mbps now I was getting between 60-80 about 3 months ago

I'll get some later tonight - something is going on with LTE around my work and Band 4 and Band 12 are both acting up
I cant access *#2263# menu on my galaxy s7 edge exynos version

Any way Nexus 6p to have band 12 the default?

I'm in an area that has band 12 hot, and in most times it's a stronger signal then band 4. I'm using LTE discovery to search the signal. I can reset the radio with discovery and it comes back connected to band 12 but within a min it switches back to band 4. Is there any way to make band 12 the default band or force band 12 only? I'm thinking not but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
There's no way to force a band connection. The network will switch you to whatever band it feels fit for you, depending on your signal level, location in comparison to the tower, etc.

[GUIDE] Increase JIO speed

How to speed up jio connection?
I am posting pre configuration also as well as in case pre configuration not work you can try at your own hit and trial method.
Pre config -
I am not providing any downloadable files or content. This process needs root and volte supported roms. Custom lineage and its based roms still can have issue. It will work best on eui roms ( stock and customs) .
App need -
Net guru (free) - download
1. Download net guru app. And give root access . It will take some time for configuration.
2. Wait untill it shows LTE testing.
3. Now go to menu and select lock bands.
4. Now select LTE and select "B3 1800+" band.
5. Restart and. Enjoy new speed.
Reason to lock only this band -
Coverage + speed too.
Check speed by trai app.
If above method don't work then follow till 3rd step and now select 3 individual bands at which jio works and check your speed at individual bands and lock them at your most preferable band.
Details about bands:
Jio is using 3 LTE bands for 4G:
Band 3 (1800Mhz),
Band 5 (850Mhz)
and Band 40 (2300Mhz)
If LTE Bands are arranged according to services then
Best 4G coverage*: Band 5 > Band 3 > Band 40
Best 4G Speed*: Band 40 > Band 3 > Band 5
Average 4G speed*: Band 40 : 30mbps+Band 3 : 14mbps+Band 5 : 5mbps+
Extra -
1. After Deleting app band locking still works.
2. Restarting doesn't affect band locking.
3. Updating roms or changing also not affect band locking.
4. It's not necessary band 3 will give you more speed or coverage try according to your area. Mine is most suitable at B3.
Working - Sim - up. Working in Delhi, haryana and up.
Post your results.
Thank you bro
If you will use this trick then you both incoming and outgoing call will not work at the time of data connection ,you have to switch to flight mode to enable again

Nokia X6 2018 defaults to H+ connection on Cricket

Hi guys,
I just got a Nokia X6 on Android One shipped from China and for some reason it defaults continuously to H+ instead of LTE on my Cricket network. On my Network Type option in the Setting In only have 3 options 2G, 3G and 4G and I have 4G selected, but still H+ is being used by default even in areas where I used to get full LTE signal.
I have tried however to get into the Android Testing Menu (by dialing *#*#4636#*#*) and change the Preferred Network Type to a few options like LTE/UMTS auto (PRL), but for some reason is the H+ that is picket all the time. even in areas where I know the LTE signal is strong. If I select "LTE only" from that menu, then I'm getting on LTE but as soon as I go into weak signal region, the signal drops completely, while not the same thing I can say about the other option, when the H+ connection is present in the same weak signal area.
Another thing that I see in the Android Testing Menu is that my VoLTE provisioned option is Off and I can turn it on.
Do you guys have any ideas on how can I get this device connected to LTE when the signal is strong?
I have a Nokia X6. I put two SIMs into it, both show 4G.
I have some problem to connect data or mobile internet. Grammen phone provider.
I was ready to purchase one, however, was curious if this would work on t-mobile. If so, would the Wi-Fi calling work?
Did you already checked if your 4g network band compatible with your phone?

So, have you solved your problem?
If the ROM of your phone is "CN" you could try to flash the phone to the global ROM 2_29(WW) or wait for a new update of the firmware. You haven't noticed the firmware's version. Have the phone got any updates?
I just returned the phone and got an LG G7 instead. The X6 that I was using also had a problem with Bluetooth as I was never able to turn it on.
Manually switch the preferred network type.
I am using the latest Stock Android version on Nokia 8 and struggled with this issue too. I tried everything I could possibly do.
The simplest answer is to go into network settings and select 2G, give it a minute to find it. Do it for 3G too. Give it a minute to find it. Then 4G, same thing. Finally select 4G as preferred network type and that should do it.
It looks like the default preferred network type is 3G from the factory.
guys i cant even access my mobile data connection can anyone tell how access it
thanks
