I'm new to this kind of stuff. I tryed many Roms for the battery drop issue since Android Lolipop Update.
Dont know if it helps you but you can use Sony's Developer guide on how to unlock your bootloader or you can use flastool dot net 1 click bootloader unlock.
Open program, conect phone in fastboot, click BL button, then unlock bootloader.

where are the files and the tutorial??

This is a troll, also operator versions of z1 has their bootloader permanently locked

So downgrade is the best choice for now

You, my friend, are insulting intelligence of XDA members. First of all, you can't install recovery if you have no root. Second of all, you can't unlock your bootloader if you have no root. Now understand how d*mb you sound? If I were you, I would beg the modes to wipe this thread and then get another ID or disappear forever.

Definitly delete this thread, unlocking bootloader we know about it. PRF Creator we know to use, but what how about devices with "unlock bootloader allowed....no"? I think your intentions was good, but this is not a solution, sorry

Do the same without unlocking bootloader... then we have some business to do.. Hows your camera btw ? is it nice to shoot without focus ?

I've done something similar WITHOUT UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER. In my case , i have a xperia Z1 without the posibility to unlock the bootloader (Unlocking bootloader status set to NO). I have to mention that i did not have any recovery installed on my phone. I've done the following steps:
1. I flashed a KITKAT (4.4.4)(downgraded) to my Xperia Z1.
2. After that i rooted the phone with the simply root (automatic one) or one click root.
3. I've installed dual recovery for Z1 with flashtool.
4. After that , i've flashed a 5.1.1 Android(with recovery) with root, xposed and everything...(IT HAS TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH LOCKED BOOTLOADER , READ CAREFULLY IN DESCRIPTION)
5. Right now i enjoy the rooted 5.1.1 with xposed and everything
Here you have the link of the 5.1.1 flash:http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/development/rom-z5mx-rom7-5-0extended-battery-t3224245

New method to downgrade and root 183.46.15version of kitkat4.4.2 (for XT926 UNLOCKED)

This METHOD was developed ONLY for an UNLOCKED Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD XT926m phone that is already updated to the last version of KitKat 4.4.2 (System version "183.46.15.XT926.Verizon.en.US").
IF YOU HAVE AN LOCKED BOOTLOADER AND TRY THIS METHOD IT WILL BE ONLY YOUR RESPONSABILITY IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR PHONE !!!
My Motorola XT926m had an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER (ICS 4.0.4) and I flashed via RSD Lite the last stock firmware, "183.46.15"... After that, I was, of course, unhappy, because I read on different forums that this firmware version didn't support root... I tried to download the Hydrogen Peroxide xt926 application that others users recommended here on XDA forum, without success.
But now, after I applied this method, my phone is again rooted... Enjoy the steps, but be carefull, it was developed for XT926 phones with UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER!
1. Download the files "VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml" and "VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF.xml" from the Motorola firmware site: "motofirmware.com/files/file/"...
2. Unpack the files...
3. Substitute/replace the "gpt", "tz" files (FROM the folder with "15.1" version TO the folder with "10.1" version)... You should replace all the files that "RSD Lite" will tell you that don't fit when you try to flash the new stock firmware. You will obtain a MODIFIED version of "183.46.10" stock KitKAt 4.4.2 firmware!!!
4. Flash this MODIFIED "10.1" firmware with "RSD Lite v6.1.5 Multi-Flash" (without using Rsd Script Generator.jar), but don't forget to remove the first two 'getvar' lines in the xml file.
5. Download and install the "Towel Root.apk" and root the phone...
6. Now your phone should be ROOTED.
What to do NEXT:
7.Download from the Play Store and install "Superuser.apk" made by ClockWordMode and after reboot the application will ask you to update SU binary. In my case, the SU binary didn't support an online update and I installed the "Superuser.zip" file downloaded from the ClockWorkMode site, via recovery method, in order to gain this update (you can do this as well, if you already have a TWRP or CWM recovery installed on your phone). With the other version of superuser, like "SuperSU.apk" or "Superuser.apk" ("eu.chainfire.supersu-2.apk", the last version, 5.6mb, for example) you will need to follow the same steps...
8. Using "Total Commander.apk", you can go to "File System root"/"Etc"/"installrecovery.sh", and finally rename this last file... Or you can use "ES3 File Explorer.apk" in order to rename the same "installrecovery.sh" file in "Device"/"Etc" folder (choose, for example, the name "installrecovery.shbak")...
9. Flash with "Flashify.apk" (downloaded form PLay Store) a new "recovery img.": "TWRP.img" (2.8.3.0) or "CWM.img" (6.0.4.8) for KitKat... You can find them on "rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Droid%20Razr%20HD&folder=Firmware"...
10. If you flashed "TWPR recovery.img" you will need to install "Stericson.busybox-1.apk" (from Play Store...), because TWRP works with this busy box... (You could install "TWRP.apk" as well, but you must be careful, because you will need to be able to boot into Recovery mode directly from your phone (with the combination key), not from this app... Many times, the phone is able to boot into recovery mode from TWRP application, but not from the bootloader... That's why it is better to uninstall TWRP application if you have this problem). If you flashed a "CWM.img" you can install "RomManager.apk".
11.Now it is the time to backup your system to SD card!
That's it. My phone was unlocked, and I didn't have any issue following all this steps... If you're locked don't try it.
But.. If you're locked you could instead use an application named 'Safestrap' for some purposes (read more here on XDA forum please), because is destinated for the phones with locked bootloader...

I know you took a lot of time to write this up, but there is a downgrade method posted on here already. Also, there is no need to rename recovery.sh. All you need to do after flashing recovery is power off the phone and immediately boot straight back into recovery so the install script completes.
To answer your question, no, you can't unlock .15.

Yeah, unfortunately this post makes no sense, I mean, if you accidently flash the gpt.bin, you're screwed... and so many risks, plus, you can't flash custom recovery, and you can maybe downgrade the system and boot, but you still can't downgrade the bootloader...

The piece you are referring to that doesn't work on .15 is the unlock and root. The downgrade should work on an unlocked phone.
That aside, your steps are very confusing and could easily cause a locked user to brick their phone. Please clarify or I will continue reporting this thread until it gets removed.

[STOCK][D58XX][5.X] Installing ROOT tutorial

Hi friends!
I've got absolutely no expirience on how to write tutorials on XDA and i'm from Denmark, so if it's way off on regards to spelling and guidelines, you now know why.
The goal of this tutorial is to guide you through the process of gaining root access with Recovery on your Xperia Z3 Compact running Android Lollipop 5+.
WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS METHOD IF YOU ARE ON A LOCKED BOOTLOADER!
Lets start
Download AndroPlusKernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/kernel-andropluskernel-t2937173
Download XZDualRecovery Kernel from here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/
Copy XZDualRecovery Kernel to your Xperia phone
Open AndroPlusKernel.zip, extract the boot.img and flash it using flashboot with the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
Turn on your phone, pressing the volume up to start the recovery.
Flash the ZDualRecovery Kernel
Reboot and open SuperSU so finalize the root access.
Enjoy!
PEAS!!!
This method will not delete any data on your phone.

Apparently this recovery is not yet compatible with lollipop. Besides there's no recovery in my setup to flash any flashable.
But this procedure is for LolliPop 5.0 ? I know that Custom Recovery of NUT is not compatible with it !?!
So your procedure for lock bootloader will be:
Download AndroPlusKernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...ernel-t2937173...link is wrong: is http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/kernel-andropluskernel-t2937173 and the kernel is Z3C_AndroPlusKernel_v31.zip ..BUT this kernel want Unlocked bootloader ??
Download XZDualRecovery Kernel from here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/ : T2U-lockeddualrecovery2.8.3-RELEASE.flashable.zip
Reboot and open SuperSU so finalize the root access.
...so is not clear all ?!?
Hispanico
If i download
http://nut.xperia-files.com/
Z3C-lockeddualrecovery2.8.3-RELEASE.installer.zip
And start the process for 5.0.2 in locked bootloader will work? Is this recovery working?
Sent from my D5803 using XDA Free mobile app
XZDR isn't working for LP yet, regardless of bootloader status. OP can you please provide proof that you have working recovery in LP, because it seems you're the only user with this

I'm sorry for the misleading title, my method will not install any recovery on your phone - but only root access. Sorry for the mistake.
But for now root access is cool as it enables me to use airstream, vpn and other features that weren't available before.
When a working recovery is released the steps can be used again (flashing androplus) followed by flashing wathever you want to flash from within the recovery. Just remember to flash a compatible lollipop kernel in order for boot to work afterwards.

Hi Hispanico. I just got a z3c with Lollipop installed. Its basically a stock z3c that receieved the lollipop upgrade. If I follow your steps stated here, will I be able to gain root on 5.0.2? I just want to double check on it, because I don't want to end with a brick. Your steps are clear, but I have not found anyone else saying that they did it with success (or not)...
Thanks!

Hi
I have the same question or @Chaleman did you try
@Taurintas
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* . Then go to -> "Service Info" -> "Configuration". If there is:
Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes << this means that your Bootloader is Locked
Bootloader Unlocked - Yes << this means that your bootloader is unlocked
@ukunilus
Did it and it says bootloader unlock allowed - no. What does it mean ? It means that I cannot do these steps ?

[HOW-TO][ROOT][5.02][SGP621] Rooted Lollipop on Locked Bootloader

There are quite a few threads that have all the information but for new Z3TC owners, it can be challenging to know where to start and to understand the process.
How I started here is recently purchasing a Rogers Z3TC and to my surprise, the bootloader cannot be unlocked. I shouldn't have been surprised since carriers do tend to lock the bootloaders and if I did my research, I would have found out that Sony offers unlockable and non-unlockable versions of the same hardware. I have never had to worry about having a recovery to root the device or install custom ROMs with root. For anyone new to Android, the recovery is probably the single most important mode to setting up your device the way you want. A prerequisite for that is of course an unlocked bootloader so you can install the recovery of your choice - ClockworkMod (CWM) or TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP).
So what makes the process confusing for some new Z3TC owners, such as myself, is that the process is somewhat backward. For most of my previous devices, it is:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Install recovery
3. Gain root through flashing SuperSU or a rooted custom ROM
Because for my Rogers Z3TC cannot be bootloader unlocked, the process now looks like this:
1. Obtain root
2. Install recovery
3. Flash a pre-rooted Lollipop ROM
The only way we can get root on Lollipop is on a pre-rooted ROM because there is no exploit yet to do it directly. The only way we can install a pre-rooted ROM is through a custom recovery. The only way we can get a custom recovery is to be rooted. For unlocked bootloaders, they can get recovery through flashing the img of the recovery. The only way we can obtain root is through an exploit on a Z3 ROM, which thankfully works on the Z3TC due to the similar hardware.
So without quoting all the instructions of each step, I will provide the links and you just have to follow the instructions for each part.
Before you begin, you will need Flashtool and install the drivers for Flashmode and your device. You will not need Fastboot because unfortunately, you wont be doing anything with it on a locked bootloader. You may install it if you want.
If you are on Windows 8.1/10, you will need to to disable driver signature.
1. Obtain root by first flashing SGP621_23.0.1.A.0.167_CE.ftf and the system partition of D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_20GLOBAL.ftf. Then use giefroot to root.
2. Prepare prerooted flashable zip of 23.1.A.0.690 NOBA on your internal storage or external SD.
3. Install XZDualRecovery and now you will have TWRP to install 23.1.A.0.690 NOBA on your SD card.
I would finish off by running SGP621-RICDefeat.zip to get R/W system access.
This is the simple template that I would imagine be the way those of us with locked bootloaders will install custom ROMs, obtain root or upgrade Android.
Thank you @lowtraxx for the root instructions and @[NUT] for the XZDualRecovery.
I am running stock Lollipop now.
If I take above mentioned steps,
do I lose the data with apps and settings I am using now?

I have tried downgrading from Lollipop back to step one without wipe in Flashtool but I think the system data are incompatible and caused bootloop.
Once I flashed a fresh SGP621_23.0.1.A.0.167_CE.ftf, I did not bother setting up any apps until I did a fresh install of the pre-rooted Lollipop ROM. If you can back up everything first, that would be best. If you cannot, try Flashtool without wipe and worst case scenario if you bootloop, there is a shut off button beside the SIM card tray and you can still get back into Flashmode.

If someone could do a tutorial video, I think a lot of people along with myself would highly appreciate it. I tried doing root on locked bootloader prior to Lollipop, but it just wasn't happening for me. So I decided to give up and just update it since it was too much of a hassle.
Thanks for the post.
Has anyone else tried this?
I am wondering why the root method previously need to unlock the bootloader to get the 621 firmware back on an rooted.
What has changed for this to work without unlocking the bootloader?
Thanks in advance

This is the simple template that I would imagine be the way those of us with locked bootloaders will install custom ROMs, obtain root or upgrade Android.
Thank you @lowtraxx for the root instructions and @[NUT] for the XZDualRecovery.

No, we cannot unlock our bootloader so we will not lose DRM.

what do you mean with we can't ? you don't want to ?
Never mind I didn't knew you CAN'T unlock the bootloader at all

These steps don't unlock bootloader. So DRM stays intact. No need to backup/restore TA!!!

Yes.
Thank you, its working now, yeah no need to backup TA, unlock bootloader, etc.
It was a bit tricky but not as hard as in the other threads.
I did one mistake, I flashed the SGP621 pre-rooted zip on my SGP611, it wouldnt turn on obviously, so I created a pre-rooted file for the SGP611 and now I'm on lollipop with root and dual recovery
Flashing the ricdefeat file fails everytime though but thats a very minor issue.
Here's the pre-rooted file for the SGP611 users
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz4ANHmLVuVTR2FqWHEzemxORjg/view?usp=sharing
It seems really hard to brick the device too, I ran out of space on my pc while flashing 4.4.4 with flashtool so the processes was aborted at about 50% but I was still able to get into flash mode again.

Could that prerooted 611 file work on my lollipop 612? Or would it need 612 specifically to work?

I'm not sure, you could give it a try.
Or just make a pre-rooted file yourself, it's quite easy, just remember to use the right lollipop .FTF file for your 612 device.

Yes, what I did was.
Downgrade to 4.4.4 using flashtool, if you are on 611 or 612 dont use the ftf file in the first post as your device wont turn on, use the correct ftf file for your device.
Flash z3 compact system using flashtool (dont wipe anything and exclude everything but system, you will end up with with the z3 system and you will get error messages when you turn it on, thats fine)
Root using giefrrot (it took me 3 tries to get it rooted)
Install double recovery.
Put the pre-rooted file in your phone memory or sd card.
Flash the pre-rooted lollipop file and reboot, thats all.
But as you have the 612 device I would recommend you to make your own pre-rooted file, just follow these instructions

The RICDefeat is quite important if you want to remove bloatware or alter the system in anyway, which is one of my prime reasons for rooting. What was the error or message?
Flash mode is intact as long as the bootloader is locked as we cannot modify any of the kernel or boot partitions.

I want to personally thank you for the instructions. I'm now running perfectly as is prerooted Lollipop SGP612. It took me several tries too with the rooting with giefroot because each time I run it, I can't get it connected to USB anymore, which I had to constantly restart to get.

I don't remember what error message I got, all I remember is seeing the word 'aborted' with the green Android guy laying down.
I have removed several apps that came pre-installed using titanium backup, I also installed the SD card fix so I can use the SD card freely. I haven't had a single issue so far.

You Copied from Here Nice!
Tried on KK, locked bootloader, installation finished without any problems, but I cant boot to recovery(I press the vol up button when the led goes green, but then it turns red and simply boots the rom). Not a big problem but if I did everything correctly, it means that it probably wont work on KK

I installed custom recovery on KK using XZRecovery app and it was fine, try uninstalling recovery, install BusyBox then try again and use NDRUtils for booting into recovery, it's easier

Hey man, i guess that there's some misunderstanding here, i DIDN'T copy from anyone and it's my own guide it's not nice to copy other's work.
I did the first step and got rooted Z2 D6503
The latest 5.1.1
Then followed the link to over here
Got some questions before I do this
My bootloader can not be unlocked
And if I install this recovery
What are the things I should never do??
I mean what is diffrent from unlocked bootloader?
Does it mean I have some kind of restrictions and unlocked bootloader not?
Or can I do all what they flash? Custom rom or kernel flash??
Please explain
Thanks
EDIT 01:
Just want to let you guys know I got just TWRP installed and it is working
on LB Z2 D5603 ..
But just to let you know
If you rooted with this method like I did
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ndroid-5-1-t3253878/post63966710#post63966710
I can not remove like it is written the kingroot
And when I installed busy box it got me some error like busybox seems to be already installed in diffrent location
And after few tries I ignorred it
Then I used the XZRecovery
Opened and clicked install but you must be carefull it ask for root from kingroot and I have not succesfully delted it like in the thread from the link
And for me kingroot does not have user grant permission
So it gave me error and asked me want to close or wait for XZRecovery to react..
And I clicked on wait and then came superSu and I grant the permission and it installed then
correctly
So dont be confused if it ask like that for grant permission
Happy flashing and please answer me the above question
What can I do or do I have restrictions with LB and this kind of TWRP
Thanks

First of all you need to know if you have locked or unlocked bootloader
That will define all of your steps and it is very important to know for future
flashing if you have LB or UB
The rest is very easy and if done right you can have twrp in 5 minutes
You just need to watch the you tube video from post #1 and follow the steps to get rooted
Then to install twrp go to the link given also in post #1 and then again follow the steps
If you are stuck on some of the steps belive me you have done something wrong
I had some problems with installing and rooting and had some bootloops
but I tried the steps few times
And than I saw it need to be the exact step and all the apps have to give the
results as shown in video on you tube
Try it and let us all know how you are doing....we can all help
