Can Schedule Power On/Off? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, anyone here know have Galaxy Note 4 got Schedule Power On/Off?
I want to turn off my device and turn on automatically by pre-set timer. I saw other brand devices can set this function on the setting, why Samsung Galaxy series don't have this function?
Or can use other apps to make it?
Thank you.

Turning off on a preset timer by an app is easy but turning on... how can turn on if so is not running?
Think in an old crt TV. If you power off using power button on TV the timer don't work but if you turn off using power button on remote controller timer works because TV was on stand by mode.
When you turn off your phone is like power off TV with power button. No stand by mode so cannot turn it on by software

turning off = YES
turning on = NO
Only some type of phone (rare) & a computer can do that (with capable BIOS)
Each phone has its own advantages/disadvantages & our phone has Ultra Powersaving + S-Pen

turning off?

How can I turn off my Universal?
When I press the power button it simply goes to sleep.
anyone?
you can turn off the phone, BT, wifi etc and then put it to sleep...
is there no way to turn it off?
I am missing something?
I don't know what you expect it to do. If I switch flight mode on and push the power button then I think that it is switched off. The only other way to completely shut it off, is by removing the battery.
Hope this has helped

Guys, I've tried to make a power off switch app for non-OMAP phones (ie not the Wizard)
Have a look here:

But to answer your question straightforwardly.... No! you can't switch of the Universal as such... there is no hardware Power On/Off option... silly I know
philtech44 - did you try VJEschaton?

app to turn on an off device

would there be an application that will turn on the device when it's OFF. Reason behind this is that my power button wasn't working anymore so I need an app to turn on my phone. Apparently, my alternate route is using AE button plus for turning off, and to turn on my phone is that I have to take out the stylus, but I noticed that it used to consume battery usage...if I take it out on the second time it will eat up 2% of the battery usage...and I had even tried using the switch display off/on with the AE button plus but it will make my usage with my phone for upto 8 complete hours only....before I can even use my phone upto 12-14 hours...
if not an application, maybe remapping or registry hack will help..
please I need some help..
thanks in advance
anyone who could share or help.....thanks
What type is ur pda? Do u mean turn on from COMPLETELY turn off?
Go to Start,Settings,System,Key Lock and set it to "Do not lock buttons".
This way, any button press on any button will wake the device. You might want to lock it before switching off so you don't dial people by mistake.
iam using HTC diamond and currently have the SUN 6.1 with 2.5 manila version, but it seems that the keylock doesn't work properly on that ROM
thanks for all your help, just asking some other options here

Display always on when loading Battery

Hi!
Is it possible to configure the Transformer to automatically turn the Display on when the Battery is loaded and switch it off if not?
Maybe an app can do that?
For Background:
I'm planing to install the tab in my car and switching the power adapter with the ignition. Would be cool if the screen turns on when I start the car and turns off when it's shut down.
found something:
market.android.com/details?id=com.gmail.developer.runks.enji&feature=related_apps
Tasker can do this, and much more..

[Q] Can my N7 completely turn off when power is disconnected?

hi all
like many others iv put my nexus 7 into the dash of my car. i was wondering if there is an app or way for my nexus to turn itself off when i turn the car off. iv figured out how to make the device turn on when power is restored to the device but still not sure how to turn the device off.
also would anyone know why when the nexus turns on, it immediately mutes itself? it is connected via 3.5mm jack 100% of the time and tasker opens up power amp but other then that i don't know what might be causing it. any help is appreciated on both issues
cheers

If you have tasker installed, create a state which is dependant on battery power - as an exit task tell the tablet to wait for 10 seconds, then call the misc->reboot action with type shutdown to turn the tablet off. The wait 10 seconds it to prevent it powering off when you are cranking the car...
If you just want to turn the screen off, not power the whole tablet down, there's a tasker action Display->System Lock which will turn the screen off..
You could also use tasker to change the system volume for you if you needed as a workaround...
*edit* - BTW - the tasker reboot options don't gracefully reboot / shutdown, so if you have apps running, there's a chance that you may lose data. To do a 'graceful' reboot / shutdown, you are better off using the secure setting plugin...

[Q] Help needed by ultra noob developer, Listener Service Screen On and Off

I'm working on a project and I need to know if it's possible to create a service that listen to the state of the screen turning on and off.
The idea is to create an action or event if the screen if turned on and off quickly several times by pressing the power button, IE: On, Off, On, Off = Action/Event is triggered.
The action/event is triggered only if the amount of times the screen is turned on and off is filled (2 times on and 2 times off as shown in previous example).
I've been looking for this but still haven't find a way to do it yet.
Thanks in advance, kind regards.
hi i have tried this and its possible to get it working by using screen on broadcast receiver. But you wont get the expected results. The reason for this is due to a slight delay in screen turn on nd off in most of the phones user can press the power multiple times before screen actually turns on.Turning off is little less buggy.

Well, I'm trying to implement a way to perform an action if the power button is pressed more than 3 times in a row... The main idea is, for example, press the button 3 or 4 times and the phone executes the desired action.
I'm sure there is a way to do this but I haven't found it so I focused on the "screen on - screen off" alternative.
