It seems to be up on AOSP: https://source.android.com/source/building-kernels.html
There is an article from Android Police from Nov 5th that Google released the Fugu kernel back then. I'm not to well versed if this is what you're looking for. Hopefully it is

1.6/2.0/2.1 with the kernel that HTC just released?

I was wondering why its been so quite after HTC released the new kernel for the Sprint Hero, I thought that was the missing link that was needed for complete 1.6/2.0/2.1 roms?
It hasn't been quiet.
Also the kernel that HTC released needs to be ported to 2.6.29 to fully work with 1.6+.
All this info is on the forum & easily obtainable.

I just thought we would see some 1.6/2.0/2.1 releases now that the kernel was released, that's all
There's been 1.6+ releases for a while...
Let me elaborate a little here:
This kernel that was released is not a magic bullet, it allows us to see what code needs to be changed to get the correct Kernel to run these newer versions. It also lets us make any performance changes we can find.
All of the changes need to be put into the current kernel source, making it a .29 or whatever we need.
It has been fairly quite, we aren't seeing tons of Roms being thrown out to the market, thankfully. Our devs are taking all the time they need to make sure everything works and is stable. We should see some big stuff happen in the next week or so.

Good to know, I guess I'm like a kid in the candy store, thanks for educating me on the kernel process.

Droid Eris 2.6.29 kernel source available

It seems that HTC developer page has the source code for the 2.6.29 Droid Eris (codename Desire) kernel available. Maybe this could be usefull for you developers!

does this mean us leakers can root now?
Sent from my Eris using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
No it doesn't but it does mean a lot more roms for root users
Some people are having trouble seeing it on the site. I upped it to mediafire. Here ya go...

This is what we need to get OC'ing working right?
Can we flash this to our current roms?

This is already in all the current ROMs. Now we can start using modified kernels that allow for OC and the like.
PHP:
Yeah that's what I was thinking by I didn't know for sure. But why couldnt we OC before if we already if we already had the kernal?
mmm.......

I don't think you understand what this is. This isn't a rom or a patch or an update. This is the source code to the Eris's kernel. We didn't have this before, we were waiting on HTC to release it.
Do a google search for linux kernel to get a better idea of what a kernel is.

The runnable form of the kernel can't be changed (much very easily, at least). Having the source code renders making real changes to the kernel feasible.
very nice. i cannot wait to come back from vacation to see our phone finally OC'd
YESS! Finally
So this wont help find a vulnerability for us leak users?
It may help find a hole in 2.1 for leakers... But dont get your hopes up to high.. The 1.5 source didn't yield much in the way of root when it was released. Im more excited to possibly see OC on the Eris!!
I'm not a leaker, but there's a thread in General that talks about the incredable being rooted from just the source. That's where you'll probobly find a hole.

Umm, its negligible. To start a thread in development you need to have created something for other people to test and use. Posting a link to a website which developers probably check every day doesn't really count.

I am in agreement here; this should not be in dev as it is just a link to the kernel released, no actual development is being done. It belongs in general. Plus, you guys need to stop bickering damnit! Time to start this thread with a clean slate.
So can an overclock kernel be developed from this and will it be?

We all ready have kernels based on this source. Have had for a while, it just released on a different website
"rmk40: People keep mentioning the kernel source on htcdev.com. They didn't release anything new that wasn't already on developer.htc.com."

I assume that you are rooted. I'm not sure what kernels are currently working on gb ota. I've been using sense for a few months so I'm not up-to-date with what is working on stock rooted roms.

12.0.A.2..254 kernel sources

Maybe I missed some annoucement... does anyone know if Sony will release sources for 12.0.A.2.254?
Seems to me that development for custom kernels (like Doomlord's) have stalled because there are no sources available.

As I understand it they have no choice but to release the kernel source as it's linux and the licensing requires that it be made available. That said, the proprietary blobs for the cameras, wifi, etc. aren't generally licensed the same way so they don't normally get released, at least in source form.
I've requested Sony to provide the source and they will do that really soon

Nice! :good: :fingers-crossed:
Just out of curiosity:
I had an Xperia Arc. My perception was that Sony released the kernel sources (including proprietary modules and everything else which is necessary to build a working custom kernel) relatively quickly and without anyone asking for it. Has this policy changed, did they just forget in case of the Xperia SP/.254 kernel sources or did I just perceive this wrong?
Finally Sony releases .254 kernel sources

Probably not, the kernel used for 10.1is not related to the Sony kernels as I ported the drivers to a newer kernel version. We already have any changes that may be in the 2.254 kernel and more. (I didn't notice any changes to the Sony drivers).

Finally had a chance to look at them as I got home from work only just before...
Just left my computer to push them today so didn't get a chance to check them but adfad666 is right and not much actual changes changed though which are useful for us.
Just some general CAF / kernel updates so not too important.
A panel driver was updated but I'm doubt we we will use it as our kernel is not based off stock.
Probably not. . Let's wait for 4.3 kernel from Sony as it will be worth rebasing off that
Thanks for the link to sources....

[DEVELEOPMENT][DISCUSSION]HTC Wildfire Buzz

As we discussed much in my CM10.1 thread I thought to make a discussion thread for further development.I hope this is not against forum rules and if please tell me and I'll change/delete it.
Rules:
-Don't ask noob question like: "How to root,...!"
-Don's spam this thread
-Only use this for development purpose
Now feel free to post everything about development for our HTC Buzz!
for cyanogenmod 10+ look at this ----> http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/12089/2/services/surfaceflinger/SurfaceFlinger.cpp
This is the commit that fixed screenshot, task previews and other openGL es related stuff in ICS
Just found out my cpu is 64-bit, so im installing ubuntu 13.10 64-bit and then syncing up CM10.1 to fix errors with you sasa
Thanks for the link and all the best while fixing bugs.Anyways yesterday my hard disk got broken so all my data is lost so my source is lost!
I need to sync it again now!
I will also begin now and then try to fix the bugs too!
Yeah this thread should be not deleted at all
Also I'm going to install ubuntu for my new laptop, now that I've got my own i can start developing even further more
And I'm going to start helping fixing bugs in cm9
Also i'll try make a new kernal for HTC buzz cm9

How hard exactly? Then in that case, i'll still try. If no luck then
Yes, Kernel Development is harder than compiling ROMs.The first build is a pain.If it boots up it's pretty good. Then only adding the features is over. But if you don't have proper source like for the Buzz(We don't have 3.x Source), you have to search for alternate source.Like me I found a source from LG Optimus Me!
It has same Chipset as our Buzz and is also ARM-V6.So when we use our config of Buzz it should compile and boot up!
found a good kernel source as mentioned by you sasa ----> https://github.com/PecanCM/lge-kernel-pecan/tree/android-msm-3.0-jb

Porting jelly bean roms is much much much harder than ICS or GB!! They always reboot and bootloop with many errors:/
I built PAC and it boots!!!!!
but paranoid preferences don't work:/ I know how to fix it but ill have to recompile which will take another day:/
