50hz? On nexus player - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
Can the nexus player handle both 50hz and 60hz refresh rates?
I love my ouya but it's locked to 60hz so any thing in xbmc that is 50hz is judery.
Thanks all
Chris

Please see my reply in the 24hz thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/help/word-24hz-support-t2931430

Thanks, I will try this when I get nexus player... So do you just make sure the TV is on, and switch to the hz you want?
Would this work on ouya by the way?

Not sure why you'd want 3.11 on your diamond, but the video you posted was the "setup". Here's the video of him showing it running on a Diamond.

he is going pretty fast, you should maybe download the youtube video and watch it with vlc in slow motion or something. Alternatively you can just pause the video after every step, do it, then watch the next step etc...

Well thats a idea. I'll try that. As he has mentioned in vid 1. For medium windows users.
Thanks anyway.
ps. I like the music background on the second video...Everytime we TOUCH.
ahhh, goo'ole times..
windows 3.11 was my second windows (3.1 the first), and i'll never forget the 32 bit performance boost from it!

Video converter

Can someone please point me in the right direction for a really good video converter. The only movie that takes up the whole screen on my Tab is Transformers 2...
sent from Gen's Galaxy Tab
bud, you dont need a converter - you need a better player
look for vplayer alpha on the market, its my fav but theres a slew of others that both play everything and allow you to change fullscreen/ ar settings - only thing to watch out for is the 4gb limit of file size
I use Adobe Media Encoder to encode to h.264 1024x576 with stereo AAC and use the ipod mux settings
Occasionally I use Nero which seems to use all 8 threads of my i7
WinFF and Handbrake should work.
For player, have you tried RockPlayer?
Thanks you guys...Rockplayer works perfect...I use that and Meridian. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

I find Rockplayer is hopeless at playing .mkv files. They jerk, pixelate and the sound is out of sync. Even the default Video Player is better.
Thanks for the info on vplayer ftgg99, I'll give it a try.
i use handbrake and the default video app. it has an option of filling up the whole screen.

Cheers... I'm busy trying it out and before I received your reply I set it to convert a large .mkv but I didn't use any presets.... So far it's taken 18mins and is only 32% done.
I'll let it finish and try it again using the preset you mention.
Thanks again.

Well I'm converting the video on a high powered Laptop with an i7-950 3.06Ghz processor, 8GB RAM and 2x640GB Hard Drives so speed should not be the bottleneck.

Someone on here could of made a custom script or codec not available on marketplace - That's why I asked
I'm fed up of people on here replying to posts for which they don't have a solution
If you don't have the answer don't reply simple - and Google it search for it or any other smart answer is not a solution
This place is meant to help people with questions be it simple or more advanced and doesn't need people making stupid smart posts
My intentions were never pick on you ! Sorry if you felt that way .
well i don't know of any such script or mod but that doesn't mean its not there as i am relatively new noob here - maybe somebody else could point you to such resources
As far as i am concerned I've mx player plus mx armv6 codecs installed if that doesn't do the job - i covert the files using my friends pc

Like I said I cannot convert mx player plays awful with x264 and kacend plays it but a little choppy so I'm hoping for a custom mod someone has written
sgy support hw accelerated h264, but supported video resolution is very2 limited. default youtube resolution (320p or 480p maybe) still playable. beyond that, you need to convert.
have you tried using mx video player? search it on playstore..

Please read before posting - Iv tried all players from play store and as iv said kacend works best but is not perfect
I was looking for a custom mod script or codec to allow playback without slow motion picture
Well i'm sure it's possible, when i play a laggy video(on mx player), i try to pres play pause (on and on)-ยป means if developer kindly force to refresh per video frame i think is possible.
On second tought better encoding on higher PC is take the utmost factor. I don`t know if you like anime or not. Please try this site `www.anime-60mb.net` and download 480p video(the latest/ new release ep) run smooth with no lag!!
then try the download from darklegend 60mb you will experience some lag. Again It's just example

MX Player for Lollipop

Anyone in need of MX Player for the said version? Download the test version from here https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build
Thanks for this. It has sucked playing movies on my phone without MX Player. I downloaded the regular MX Player, not the pro version. Is that correct?

No - it was real. Got extensive help on telegram, cleaned some things - and all is good.
One test is wrong, so Google ufo test works and shows 120.
Oh ok so it really was on 60?
What testing software did you use?
