Thanks so much for this!! Going to test it out shortly. Phone is nearly dead, needs to charge. Thanks again!!

Thank you, looks much better. Deleting Settings.odex wasn't necessary, I flashed the zip and deleted later just to stop Settings from FCing.

works beautifully. file for deletion is in system/priv-app/settings/arm just in case anyone can't figure it out. Any chance of material dark notifications too OP?

Here comes the flood of requests. Possible to make GEL app drawer material dark as well?

thanks a lot !!!!!

I can do this.
But what's wrong with the expanded status bar?
Y do u want to change?
Its OK na?
I have exam on Monday. Then holidays for ten days. So I will do after Monday.

Nothing wrong with expanded status bar, thats material dark already. Incoming notifications appear under in material light (white backround),thats what i was looking at. Cheers for listening, looking forward to update.

@Vivek_Neel BEAUTIFUL. What about an inverter. I saw this "eclipse 2" cydia tweak on my brother's iphone 6 it turns the whole UI dark. Includes many things other than settings too...
Also I think you forgot to add the status bar tint accordingly with the color but anyway this is amazing

Keep up the good work

Hello and thanks for your work.
I just have litte bugs on wifi and bluetooth.
Waiting for your update.
P.S : i'm really stupid, i want to revert back but i save the settings.odex but note the settings.apk can anyone giveme the original settings.apk ?

Very good idea! Thanks. Can you do dark dialer and contact Also???

This didn't work for me. I'm using the LRX21O build posted by Tasssadar in the MultiROM thread. I'm using it as a secondary ROM. I installed it, flashed root, booted and used a file explorer to delete Settings.odex from /system/priv-app/arm, rebooted and Settings forces closes on boot. Tried rebooting back to recovery and wiping cache and reflashing the zip with no luck. I checked again and the odex file isn't there. I'll grab a logcat for you soon.

Manually push it and see.
rw-r-r permission

Can anyone give me the original setting.apk ? I don't save it.

Pushing manually did not work either. Same effect. Made sure permissions were correct. Logcat attached. I just tried to open settings a couple times to make the FC happen.

Custom Lockscreen Background (OpenDesire and DeFrost)

...presenting
Lockscreen mod with Customizable Background
for OpenDesire and DeFrost
I've modded the framework and enabled custom lock-screen backgrounds. I've currently got it working on my custom mods for OpenDesire and DeFrost.
This is not lockbot or widgetlocker, this is a modified vanilla lock-screen.
Please don't attempt this if you don't understand all of this. I am not responsible for any damage this may cause. I recommend doing a nandroid before playing around with this.
This will make your screen look silly when answering a call from a locked screen. There is nothing I can do about this.
I've included 2 lockscreen images for the black mod and templates for both black and white. If you are using the stock sliders, you don't need to use a template, just make sure the image is the correct size.
Here is proof:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What you need to have
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
HTC Desire, S-Off'ed and running OpenDesire 4.0.34-37 or DeFrost 5.6
Ninjamorph and dependencies
My Custom framework
Photoshop/GIMP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What you need to do
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flash one of my themes through recovery, ensuring signature verification is off.
Let phone restart
Bask in glory of new lockscreen for a second, then realise you can't read the status bar.
Extract the .xml files to \SDcard\CMTheme\ and apply either through the settings menu (Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User interface > Tweaks extras > ) then restart for configuration to load.
Enjoy new theme
Make a lockscreen that is 480*800, If you want it to look best, place it under either of the layers photoshop. If using the white lock widget use the white psd file.
Place lockscreen on SDcard.
Open Ninjamorph
>New Project
Navigate to system>framework>framework-res.apk>res>drawable-hdpi>lockscreen_bg.png
Select the file you would like to have as your background
Select "finish project" select framework-res.apk, then "yes", "yes" or "no", "yes", "yes". Let phone restart to new lockscreen background.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't have an S-OFF'd Desire
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Download one of my themes.
Open the file in an archive program (I use 7zip) and navigate to framework\framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\. Locate "lockscreen_bg.png" and extract this file.
Edit the file, put it back in the archive, flash theme.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alternatively you want other framework
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, here it is guys. My first attempt at a Metamorph and only for OpenDesire.
You can only use this on stock, or simple themes. My definition of "simple theme" is one which is only changed icons, this means no battery mods which use more than the 6 steps that is the default, ie. no *.xmls are edited. or...
you will get stuck in a boot-loop
Instructions.
Download "custom_lockscreen.zip"
Open Metamorph and point it to this file.
Select apply all - it should reboot into your new background.
Then use ninjamorph to change background as outlined above.
As this is my first attempt at a metamorph, please be sure you backup before testing it. I am not responsible for anything going pear-shaped.
Reserved, just in case

Not currently. It requires modding the xmls in the framework of the rom. As far as I know, this will require each rom to be decompiled then edited then recompiled which I don't have time to do and/or maintain.

Can't you add your code to Cyanogen or Open Desire or anything like that & maybe they can create a new option? I know nothing about developing but I know that they can merge your code within android.
does this work also with your white theme classglass?
can i use aswell the white.xml file for that lockbar?

Yeah I too know nothing about developing. I have no idea how to go about this. I tend to leave this to more capable people as it takes me too long to code anything. I only really post what I come up with and use, its become a bit of a hobby. I don't have time to port/merge code, as I don't require it and it's not worth my time.

Not as yet. If you use the "flat_white.xml" file you should get a white statusbar, but the icons will look inverted.
I probably won't have the white version up until late this week.

it's not possible to make one theme work for all, for example if i used your theme with Cataclysm ROM i will lost the Cataclysm setting tab inside the setting app, and it might not even boot because your framework-res.apk is incompatible.
we are changing the color.xml and style.xml values in Value folder and after recompile the app those files will be inside the resources.arsc file and what inside this file is different from ROM to ROM and that's why you have to do it one by one.
anyway most of the ROM developer don't touch those files so if you just decompile the apps and replaced the files with your's every thing should go smoothly.
try that and if you need further help please PM me

Yeah this is exactly what i was trying to say, @androidous ... it sucks. but this will have to be the route we have to take for lollipop, unfortunately
unless, like i said earlier, someone more experienced comes up with a breakthrough of some kind -- im not holding my breath for that one though
There is an easy work around for the black on black and white on white text. Its not perfect but it gets the job done.
Settings->Accessibility->High Contrast Text.
This will put a line around the text to help make it stand out more.

So, you've downloaded and been blown away by the most advanced ROM on the HTC 10 - Viper10!!
Well, the fun doesn't end there! We plan on working together with the all new HTC Theme Engine, and Venom Theming to provide you with a full theming experience.
Please post any theme questions / issues here rather than on the main ROM thread, let's keep that clean for ROM issues.
Thank you

PLEASE NOTE:
- ALWAYS HAVE A NANDROID TO FALL BACK ON. There might be issues, especially during the first few releases of the theme.
- It is highly recommended you dirty flash the ROM (flash without wipe) between switching themes
Changelog:
02/06/16:
- Initial release
Latest ViperDark available on Venom Hub

After installing ViperDark, set your custom colour that was selected during the flash by going to Settings > Personalize > Edit Current Theme > Colour. You may need to toggle between Custom Light Headers and Custom Light Headers to get it to apply.
Venom Download HQ
Most previous downloads can be accessed from our Venom Download HQ, kindly provided by @Whiskey103.....thanks mate!
@j to the 4n, @m0narx, @ivicask, @shnizlon, @topjohnwu for the amazing Viper ROM
@ViNOK16Bit, @fichl, @Behold_this and the other venom themers
Thanks also to the Venom Beta Testers, who are always willing to test out any themes before they are released.
So you've read about the revolutionary theme engine in the ROM thread. But what exactly can you do with it? Basically, it allows you to alter some of the graphical elements on the fly, without needing to flash or even reboot.
Using Venom Tweaks, you can change the appearance of:
Statusbar icons
EQS icons
Battery icons
Sense icons
Notification shade background
App drawer background
These elements are all independent and can be changed to suit your tastes. So, you can use icons from different icon sets to mix and match your own personal theme.
But that's not all. Take a closer look at the screens where you choose statusbar themes and icon sets. You'll notice that each supported statusbar icon can be changed independently. So you like wifi icon from theme A, but battery from theme B? No problem, download both and mix it up as much as you want. You're only limited by what's available in the Hub.
And if there's some icons you want that aren't in the Hub? That's what the Venom kitchen is for.....Special thanks to:
jotha - for the battery Icons

As if the ROM wasn't customisable enough, the ROM devs have also developed the Venom theme kitchen.
Really want some statusbar icons that aren't in the Hub,or got a great idea for a set of Sense icons? Why not make it yourself and share it with others via the Venom Hub?!
We've put some themes in the Hub to get you started, but the aim is to fill it with user generated content.
We've tried to make the tutorial as easy as possible, but if you have any questions, here's the place to ask.
Upload your completed themes directly to the Venom HUB via the all new web based Web-Frontend as explained below. If the theme looks nice it will be approved by one of the team members and will appear directly on the hub, so all users can download it from there!
One thing we ask though - ideally you'd be using icons you've created yourself. If you are going to use someone's else icons, please ask them for their permission first.
We all spend a lot of our free time making these, and it's really annoying to see your work ripped off by someone else! I'm sure you'd all agree.
If you used icons from the UOT kitchen, then say so.
Happy theming!

Yeah, I also use Nova. It will probably put sense home into your system partition, but you can delete it if you want.

Perfect work, thank you for your trouble.
A question, it is possible the next instead of blue to choose a different color?

Thanks for the dark theme..After flashing the theme phone went into bootloop, tried to restore with restore zip created in vrtheme-backup folder which allowed phone to boot into OS but with system.ui force close. Tried to flash the full rom but still i get system.ui force close. I was just wondering if it was a bad download. Anyone else facing this issue ?

Just go
adb logcat > FC.txt
using command prompt. Let it run for a little while. The text file will be in your adb location.

After an absence of nearly 2 years, I give you the Dark Theme for the Leedroid HTC 10 ROM. This has been a project I have been working on for a while now and with Android 7 comes some changes that took a while to wrap my finger around. I will be updating with regular additions of HTC apks and theming over the next week or so. Presently the theme stands as...........
Version Update to v.4.0.0 Aroma Installer
Version Update to v.3.0.1 Aroma Installer

Message
Contacts
Phone
Weather
Clock
Google Package Installer
SoundPicker
HTC Weather Clock

Known Issues:
Text on Lockscreen Notification is presently stock. Working on a fix.
Some alert dialog boxes remain default white. Working on a fix.
Instructions:
Download theme and add to SD card
Make a complete back-up of your system
Flash in recovery and reboot.
NOTE: This version is based off Leedroid's r75 ROM from the SVN. If you flash over an earlier version, I cannot confirm it will work or support issues that may happen. Please report all issues here in this thread. As well, screenshots and logcats will help to sort out theming issues.
This is an active theme and will be updated regularly so be sure to stop in once and awhile to get out the latest version.
Thanks and peace.
Big thanks to @LeeDroid for making this ROM and providing the users with a great experience.

Nice work. A big improvement over the alpha last version I tried, a few minor issues remain but so far it looks good enough for daily use. Looking forward to future updates. That's one thing I have missed about CyanogenMod, dark themes. Thank you for this.
Ok flash and boot without any problems. ?

Thanks for the beer and for the photo's. I'm looking into it now. Appreciated.
Edit: Those screenshots are from apps I haven't themed yet but will be doing those soon.
Really liking this theme but one thing I'd like added is the dark Sense Keyboard. I don't use TouchPal so that would be cool.

It's on the theme sheet.
Great theme, I love it. It's the icing on the cake.
I'm loving this theme, there is just one thing that's annoying me.
While using whatsapp, the options of the 3-dots menu are barely readable and the message I'm writing also is. I don't know if I did something wrong, i'm sort of new in this kind things.

Substratum Themes work on Rooted P

As seen on XDA Portal, you can now theme P Beta..

Using Sai's Oreo theme. Don't install Playstore version. Grab an APK from his Telegram support chat.
Yessssss it isn't perfect but my god it's so nice to have theming again! Thanks for posting this.

Couldn't agree more. The need to use dark wallpapers just to get rid of the white was driving me nuts, plus it is very inconsistent in how it reads "dark" vs. "light".
The theme I'm using "flux" still has a few quirks when it comes to the android system theming, but overall no major issues!
I'm using flux but can't get the systemui to theme...is this the quirk you were talking about?

A lot of themes need to be updated to work on P.. Especially System UI part has changed a lot.
Sai's theme is updated to work with P. There are few minor parts that are not getting themes properly. That's why it's not updated on play store. But the theme is nice though.

Yeah notifications stay white, and the qs icons get coloured oddly (when toggled they are a solid colour), otherwise it seems to be working fairly well for me. Sai's theme is nice but I like a pure black theme instead of just dark, plus I like the very vivid colours of flux. I may switch though.

Search Sai's Oreo theme on play store. There is a theme support link in the description. Unfortunately I can't copy the link to the telegram channel.
I use Compound theme for System and System UI and Swift Black for theming the apps.

Hey thanks. I didn't know Compound could work on P. I've been using Sai's theme.
I've used PitchBlack for the apps.
I don't know what's going on, I still can't get any theme to stick. Just tried Sai's theme. After I Build & Enable, I go to the Manager and it says No Overlays Installed. I've rebooted and everything.

You're suppose to install and enable.. reboot. Enable all under theme manager. Reboot once more.
Anyone have trouble with some google apps not working after overlays are enabled for an hour or more? My play store, and Gmail fc every time after an overlay is enabled for a short time. Then in order to get it to open again(an app) I have to uninstall updates and it works. I hate temporary fixes so and advice would be great. Running july P beta, rooted magisk 16.6, and running compound substratum..

Happens with Play store and Google maps. I use Swift dark for those
On the Pixel the 999 build wouldn't work...download the 998 beta and installed and it worked. Same with this phone on Android P Beta.
Guys - Slightly off topic, but just sharing my learnings from my mistakes. I was playing mix and match on my UNrooted, Bootloader Locked Oreo 8.1 Essential when Substratum bootlooped and killed me! There was no way to recover from this (the best that I can understand), without an authenticated ADB or an unlocked bootloader to install TWRP to flash the rescue zip.
Please correct me if I am wrong, otherwise, let's please share with other users. Thanks!

Factory reset from recovery or a fastboot -w from bootloader
For those who got no overlays installed even tho overlays are built and phone rebooted, disable all magisk modules first, build overlays, reboot, enable overlays, enable modules, reboot ?
