[Q] Ready, Set, Go a.k.a Root+Rec+CM11 and few questions - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
well....after 10 months with my Note 3 I need...no...I must repair it from SW side (no more touchwiz) - I have stock version (bought december 2013), no updates installed, so 4.3 installed
so my goal is CM11 M8...let's start:
1. Here are two screens - one from informations in settings (you will not understand language - it's slovak, but you can see various info there), second one is after dialing *#1234# to show you exact AP/CSC numbers

2. Root - which method ? I would love to have one, which i can reflash/remove if necessary (for warranty)
3. Recovery - clockworkmod.com/rommanager version 6.0.4.6 , am I right?
4. Gapps - from here ? goo.im/gapps/ which one ?
5. CM11 M8 - this step is clear for me - installation process is...easy, maybe setting everything up will be little tricky, but I will do it somehow
thanks for all advices
will be looking foward

Your descriptive post confuzzles me so much...but I can answer all your questions.
I hope you're ready to trip KNOX!
1) Nice screens, thanks for the info! You're on 4.3 and that also means you're on 4.3 bootloader.
2) CF-AutoRoot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
3) Use TWRP: https://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/hlte/
4) I recommend PA Gapps (Mini, but you can use bigger/smaller packs): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
5) CM11 M8? Why not try temasek's ROM? It is mildly feature packed and very stable. It is my daily driver: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687074 (temasek) or http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hlte (CM11)

You don't need to root. You can just flash the recovery through Odin, and then install CM through the recovery. Saves you a step or two.

I'm so sorry I confused you, but your answers are great and thank you, after short research yesterday I found out, there is no way to not trip Knox with my bootloader (great job, samsung)

and you, mister, you gave me answer I was wishing for...so, just for sure - we are talking about custom recovery like CWM, right ? because if I can do it without root, then it is not problem anymore - I was really worried about rooting and tripping Knox
Now, question for you both; Will be there some huge difference in a way of experience with CM with or without root ? I am not kind of person, who want to make changes even to details, I was using TW and only problems for me was ugly design (blue-green combination), bad performance, in first few weeks random freezes and bad optimization
Design - I like this fs01.androidpit.info/userfiles/6473453/image/cm11_m8_heads_up.jpg , what would be stock desing in M8 - maybe I would love to change settings black backround for transparent background (but completely blured), so I will see only minor details from my "desktop" at background of my settings menu...shortly - I love transparent design - really "unisex" and compatible with any wallpaper I'll choose
Performance - I am not awaitting 40% performance increase, I'm more interested in seamless and snappy reactions with no lags and only minor performance increase in 3D apps

CM without root? That would be just like AOSP then. Root and no root makes no difference. I would get root just for the sake of getting root and if you want you can turn it off under Developer Options.
Head's Up is a cool open-source version of Hover available on most CM based ROMs, and yes you can pretty much do anything with your phone - especially using CM11's Theme Engine.
Performance wise you will get much more RAM than on TW, but that also means there would be more bugs as CM on the Note 3 hasn't been fully ironed out yet.

Knox is tripped by installing a custom recovery or kernel. You will need a custom recovery install CM, and CM needs a custom kernel to function. There's no workaround unless Samsung shares their signing keys to allow the community to build signed kernels and recoveries.
The only way to root a stock ROM without tripping knox is using towelroot, which uses a vulnerability in the stock kernel to gain write access to the system partition.
Cf-autoroot actually uses a custom recovery, though it restores the stock recovery after the rooting process is done. It obviously trips knox in the process.
Root itself depends on modifications to the system partition. CM (and other AOSP-based roms) provide root as an option. As flashing a new ROM overwrites the system partition, having or not having root in a previous ROM doesn't matter.

so, there is now way not avoiding warranty for me...
well, if I understand iz right - CM has root in itself and it depends on me, if I will activate it ? so in that case rooting is not necessary, because it is optional root in CM already ?

[GUIDE] How to GB(root) ICS and JB a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 [SHW-M180S] from korea

Hi,
I'm writing this guide because I think that there is not clear and concise information on how to flash diferent and up to date ROMs on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 [SHW-M180S], the korean version.
All the info I've found was very fragmented and also is the inconvenient that the TAB is exclusive for Korea, so all the info was in korean.
Diging around and with extra help from forum member SmaRkieS whom I want to give a big thanks, I was able to root my tab and also upgrade it to ICS and JellyBean.
I'm going to separate by Android versions.
- Gingerbread (Root):
Well, if your TAB is Android 2.3.6 UC27 it's very possible that you cannot root it by this two methods http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22194773&postcount=2
So, I've found that there is an Android 2.3.6 UC27 ROM which is rooted. To flash it (same procedure for all the other roms for this TAB) use Odin 1.85 Just downoad this ROM (Android 2.3.6 UC27), run Odin and check that is like this

}
Click the PDA button and select the ROM you downloaded and click Start. Let it finish and the TAB will reboot and Gingerbread rooted ROM will be installed
Here is an Odin tutorial
And here you can find all the Stock ROMs
EDIT: Please, be aware that from this point, you will not have mobile data working. Since ICS, Google developers have disabled the option to write the APN settings due to security reasons, so, you will only have phone calls working but no mobile data.
- IceCreamSandwich:
This rom will enable your tab to 10 point capacitive touch screen.
This is ICS AOPK 4.0.4
http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung...ich ROM/IceCreamSandwich_M180S_Stable_2.0.tar
You have to flash it with the Odin method. When it finish and the TAB reboots, I recomend to turn it of and enter the revovery mode by pressing vol up+power and do a full wipe.
First time I flashed this ROM it takes hours to boot, and by hours I mean 5 or 6. I did the full wipe and let it boot by night, next morning the TAB have booted and was asking for the initial setup. So don't despair, it will finally boot. I promise.
- JellyBean:
Do not flash this ROM if you don't have previously flashed ICS!
This is JellyBean 4.1.2
EDIT: I've found a much much better working Jelly Bean ROM, here you can download it and flash with Odin:
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=185726&uk=571066819
http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung/Galaxy/Galaxy Tab/SHW-M180S/JiWon Rom/Jiwon ROM 2.0S Full.tar
To flash it, first do a nandroid backup (for your own safety), then full wipe and finaly use same Odin method as in the others to flash the ROM.
Anyway, you can go to http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung/Galaxy/Galaxy%20Tab/SHW-M180S/ and dig in to the folders to find the ROM you want.
Hope this tutorial will be useful to all of those ones, as me, that own a Galaxy TAB Korean version and are not koreans and were having problems finding how to root or upgrade and all the info is in korean.
By the way, excuse my english because I'm from Spain and I'm sure I did a lot of mistakes.
Thanks for watching!!!:highfive:
Thanks alot...........u saved me the time
You are wellcome man!

thank you erucoco very much to guide us all with these good informations ..
but i could you give us another link for the jelly bean rom?!! coz the link is broken...
ok i have found it ...

Hi,
Thanks for the advise, guide links corrected and added the ROMs Develoid repository .
Hi there, any mirror for the aokp ics? I cant download from develoid server. Thx.
Completely clean ROM thanks a lot . We need more post people like you .
links are change (moved but they exists)
Thanks erucoco!! Finally I could root my tab using UC27 ROM you specified!
I tried both ICS and JB versions and luckily could get out of the first boot withing 5-10 minutes. But, I had to revert back to GB, as with both ICS and JB ROMs, I could not Call (error - "Turn off the flight mode.." though flight mode is Off) or SMS (error "Currently service is not available.."). Turning Flight mode ON and then Off would make the tab to get network, but for only few seconds.
I highly appreciate if you suggest any workaround for the issues or may be any other clean ICS or JB ROM.
Keep up the good work!
Shouldn't these be in general?

I'm sure that when you flash the ICS rom, it cames with the CWM. So you can do backups, install zip's and so on.
Give it a try, because I don' know how to have CWM in Gingerbread. I recomend then install the JB rom.

What i did was in this order:
0. wiped everything on my i9506 with TWRP (not needed) x3 factory reset is enough
1. DeHAWK AutoRoot. for GT-I9506 4.4.2 - XXUCNG3. you can find the link in his post with ODIN 3.07 inc. in the link. ( DeHAWK http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597058 )
2. TWRP 2.8.0.0 touch recovery with ODIN 3.09 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...recovery-twrp-2-8-0-0-touch-recovery-t2887037 )
3. download all needed zips to SDCARD(ROM, kernel and Gapps and PATCH for I9506) ROM Kernel and PATCH can be found on arter97 website ( his post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2691639 ) I use Gapps from ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942 ) NANO MODULAR PACKAGE
4. the use TWRP and install ( add zip from card in this order ROM, KERNEL, GAPPS, AND PATCH ) and reboot
My only problem is BT keeps POP with warnings now and then and 4 to 5 times on reboot
Cashano
@Cashano, so you are on dehawks pre-rooted rom?
Arter97 patch & kernel is for arter97's roms, so not surprised at your combination is not working.
Those are intended to use with arter97 roms, good luck at it's working so far on your case.
You should try that dehawk without arter97 stuff, or try arter97's roms with it.
I habe LiquidSmooth running with 3.1 Kernel and geht sometimes UI Fc's.. tried factory wipe and flashed everything again, but no luck. Maybe a Rom Issue? Will try to change to Temasek Rom with the 3.2 Kernel..
Sent from my GT-I9506 using XDA Free mobile app
kernel use
@arter97 I have made a port of Paranoid android 4.4.4 that uses your kernel and I want to know if it's okay if I release it with a link to your thread for kernel download?
Suggestion doubletap2wake & swipe2wake to the kernel
Hey Arter97, I'm using Temasek rom with your arter97 kernel for my Galaxy S4 LTE-A. It works perfectly and it's awesome.
Just my suggestion, it would be best if it is possible to add doubletap2wake & swipe2wake into your kernel.
It's alright, if it is not possible.
Thanks! Keep up the great work! =)
Hello,
Your work for this phone is amazing. Temasek + your kernel are the perfect team. Only one issue: can't be flashoolic anymore... Don't leave us, please, TW is so boring. Thanks again

Hello Respected Developer,
I have few questions about installation on my shv-e330s.
2. Put ROM, kernel and Gapps on you SD card
I want to to install CM 11 which one i download so i don't have any restart/reboot issues.
4. Flash ROM, kernel and Gapps in order
Where to get kernal for CM?
Kernel is not included! Make sure to download and install kernel specifically made for CyanogenMod.
Where i can get this one?
5. If you're an i9506 user, flash the fix file from here
Do i need to do this i have shv-e330s.

HI All,

Anyone has the same problem?

Hey guys,
How has your performance been on these roms? I've been running the latest Temasek-build there and it does seem bit lower than expected. Compared to the latest stock OTA NJ-build, the Temasek v162 actually decreases my AnTuTu points from 42K to 39K. Also battery life dropped by approx 25% (previously I had screen on times of 4+h, now 3h). I'm still following how it turns out in the long run but have you had better or worse battery and overall performance with these roms compared to stock?
Also is arter97 recovery and kernel and patch all mandatory with all of these AOSP roms provided here?
Finally would like to point huge thank you to arter97 - without you we would have barely any rom options for our phone. Hopefully you are able and willing to keep it up and us updated from time to time. Thank you!
P.S. Why is this force to Q/A section in use. Even though I mainly read the forums doesn't mean I'm noob enough not to be able to post serious comments or anything else than questions. Just wondering, lol.

Performance: I have slightly better score on antutu on CM than TW.
Check what extra features you use.
AnTuTu scores are not prefect measurements for Rom speed& functionality.
Battery consumption is less on CM, on road using only 3G and Bluetooth on car for watching movies etc i have always nearly 4h SOT, at home on WiFi always over 6h SOT, combined use gives around 5h SOT.
Kernel + patch = mandatory
Recovery with 4.4 bootloader suggested, and nearly mandatory if going to LP.
Under 10 posts and here you are.

Thanks for the quick and informative reply!
Your stats sound pretty good to me and something I definitely want to achieve. And as you said too, performance is not the problem here anyways probably, but the battery is pretty important. I'm running no background apps, playing few online games and running with 3g most of the SOT, though the connection is sometimes pretty bad which may cause extra battery load.
Anyways I would gladly hear which CM version you're successfully using?
The 'official' CM builds for i9506 seem to have some reboot issues according to the comments, and that sure is something I'd like to avoid (I got enough of that on my more flashoholic days ). And as I just want a pure CM experience I got no need for the custom versions like Temaseks (which is great otherwise and I used it on my S3) for now atleast.
So please, if you don't mind, I would gladly hear more about your CM version and setup you used to get those values.
Thank you.
@enkku, I'm on Temasek CM11 v162 (by arter97) now, same stats when was on "stock"CM by arter97.
Biggest changes are just TRDS ON and ThyrusHOLO KITKAT black/dark theme installed, all automatic synchronizing disabled.
Small tweaking on brightness values, getting brightness lower.
Basically I have 24/7 WiFi on, automatic open WiFi polling is off. Too lazy to switch it off coz it's not draining my battery, thanks to arter97's brilliant work on kernel. So my WiFi connects only to my home WiFi, nowhere else even it's activated all the time.
Good morning,
Same config here with gapps frozen and apps always killed after use. Brightness 30%, 9 h LTE and wifi/day : 6-7 h SOT.
Hi, is it possible to make the 4k camera from note4 work with aosb 1.3.7? thank you so much!:good:
@ode_ good points you made there, thanks for your reply.
I just did a full day run and my battery barely lasted the whole day: I only got 2h 40min screen on time? What could possibly be wrong? I disables all syncs, no wlan or location active at any point, brightness at lowest and 3g on only when I need it. Still I get battery life that's only a third of you guys? I don't run any background apps, only few messenger apps, most of them hibernated with greenify.
I added screenshots of my battery life and BBS stats as attachment. As you can see, my idle/deep sleep battery consumption is normal, but whenever I start using my phone the battery drops really fast. When using my phone I mostly chat, play some online games really briefly (3-20min at once) or just browse the web.
Would gladly hear some ideas to make me battery life better/normal.
Edit: Android system seems to have used a little battery this time, but it still only shows 30min cpu time amd 3min keep awake so can't be solely it causing the extra drain.
Thank you.
@enkku, go and check:
Settings-performance-profile balanced
Enabled per app profiles
Settings-performance-processor governor arteractive
No multicore powersaving
Settings-performance-io scheduler fiops
And even those shows currently right values change one time to some other and go back using screen left upper corner arrow.
I'm betting at you have profile performance now running.
Plus you run your software's on white theme, that eats battery really fast on Amoled screen. Invest on thyrusholo dark and switch TRDS on.
Edit: don't forget to switch on adaptive backlight.
@ode_ thanks again, great suggestions!
Anyways I think most of those are the default values, and I haven't touched them, but I still re-activated them all as you suggested (and no, didn't have any performance settings activated, I thought so too at the beginnkng coz the battery drain was so fast while using the phone). Also turned on adaptive backlight, got rid of my lollipop (white) theme and disabled dynamic status bar. Also hibernated fb messenger and disables my single zooper widget. But even after all the things you suggested and I listed here, there seems to be absolutely no difference. I'm amazed how can I have this poor battery life with absolutely nothing running in background: even compared to stock Samsung TW with billion bloatware like step counter running all the time, I have a bit worse battery life I think.
What could I do more to try solve this issue? Try looking into battery drain with some other software? Installing another rom? Going back to stock? Going back to shop to whine that my battery's bad? Lol, just kidding, but seriously, this phone is literally one and half week old now and yet I have so poor battery times? What am I doing wrong?
Again, todays data as attachments. Also counted that while playing for example, I lose 1% of battery every 1min 30sec. While browsing, this number is a bit better, more like 2min-2.5min per %.
Thanks guys, you're really providing me great help and support here!
@enkku, wipe cache and Dalvik cache, copy your pictures out from phone and back of you need them, just to make sure at there is no broken files and some looping on media scan/file system.
Cache wiping helps on some cases, I had once similar type battery drain and it ended just by wiping caches.

Asus Zenpad 8.0 Z380C - Any Custom Roms Available?

Hi Guys,
Sorry I'm an absolute newbie on forums so if I'm doing anything wrong please correct me
I have bought the Asus Zenpad 8.0 Z380C last weekend and I really like the tablet but the bloatware on it is absolutely killing me :crying: and my RAM. I was wondering if there is any way to get a clean version of the ASUS stock firmware or any clean custom rom for this device. I can't seem to find any dev working on this. The stock rom isn't bad but it feels like all the unused apps are slowing the tablet which is a shame as it is a good cheap tablet which can do much more.
THanks!
Niels
You need root your Z380C and unintall all bloatware.

This is the second post asking about root that you provided this particular link to and touted it as a resolution to the problem. Do you own a z380c and/or have you personally tried the method outlined in the page you have linked or did you simply google this answer?
That page just lists garbage software that's in Russian and Chinese that requires you to do surveys to download (i.e. scam software) and neither of those programs are able to root the z380. The first clue this page is crap is that the screenshots are for different devices! This is NOT an answer to the question asked.
OP: I'm looking for an answer too, if I find it, I will post it here. Good luck!
Yes I have z380c and now I know my links are bad (I used only google) I am sorry. I think here will be solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
I read about the temp rooting and untill now all have failed with me. I think we will have to wait untill the locked bootloader gets cracked or bypassed. I would love to see the new CM 13 on my zenpad. Just installed it on my note 3 lte.
I am afraid z380c is not very dilated. For CM is not interesting. But who knows.
Any good news?

This ROM is for the Qualcomm version of the tablet, not Intel as the OP requested and will not work.
This method worked for me, remember to rename the downloaded file "root-v2-z380c.img" to "root.img" (without the quotes) before the command "fastboot boot root.img"
good luck

Zenpad 8.0 Z380C (P022) Custom ROM or help with building a custom ROM ??
I'm also searching for a custom Rom for Asus Zenpad 8.0 Z380C (P022).
As I'm not a software-expert I was not able to build a custom ROM for myself, but I'm still trying/fighting. Downloaded the Kernel source from Asus, still errors when trying to make the kernel. And afterwards?
Anyone here who have experience with these things and can help me?
Reason: Bluetooth "bug" (or however you name it) in Android 5, therefore a big wish to go for Android 6 or 7. Makes no sense to scrap the tablet and buy a new one. And I'm still thinking the performance could be way better when disabling/deleting all the stuff you don't need on this device (bloatware is already removed). Maybe I'm wrong...
Zenpad is rootet.

I've managed to root it too!
Which apps can you safely remove?
I'm using Uninstall Master, but if you have a better alternative, let me know.
I've read people using Xposed to get more control (to remove ZenUI), but also people who bricked their devices with it.
Can anyone confirm Xposed isnt working or is working for Z380C?

Asus Browser- Secure Web Surf
File Manager (the ZenUI ASUS one)
Asus SuperNote
Google Fotos
Chrome Browser
Google Text-in-...

Afterwards i deleted ome of these folders with the Root Browser.
But as you can see in my post, I'm not satisfied, especially because Bluetooth. And I want to setup a totally clean Android and install all for myself.

Thanks! :good:
It seems Busybox is installed, since I installed Titanium Backup from the Play-store (showing BusyBox 1.19.4-Titanium from app).
Perhaps it's more easy to show what can be disabled or removed, using screenshots.
Take note: I don't use the whole photos or camera stuff, since the camera of this device is crappy.
I use my device for browsing, also speaking to Google to search + Youtube + Deezer for music. That would be all.
I'll start with mine, perhaps you can download the zenpad_apps_all.png and edit it, putting a red X-mark on top of the ones you have disabled/removed.
I've deleted Kindle, Amazon, Zinio, Clean Master, Supernote, Google Maps, and some others, that are obvious to remove.

FRD-L04 Oreo update, here we go.!

Finally, FRD-L04 Oreo (Android 8) firmware has just appeared in FF and we are going to get EMUI 8 (Oreo) soon after testing it by Honor team and giving the approval.
A roll back package has also appeared.
I guess we will be getting it in a month time.
What do you think..?
Change log:
EMUI 8.0 not only brings you the latest version of Android (8.0), it's also boosted with a lot of great features and improvements to make your device more intuitive, faster and safer. We highly recommend updating now.
[Highlights]
● Smarter
A new floating Navigation dock lets you perform frequently-used operations from anywhere on the screen. Newly added home screen shortcuts let you quickly access the app features you use most frequently. Simply touch and hold an app icon to display a shortcut menu.
● Faster
AI-based optimizations deliver greater stability, fluidity, and speed. The system boots faster, videos are more fluid, and images thumbnails load rapidly even in huge volumes.
● Safer
Enjoy enhanced protection for your system and data with new updates to system security.
[Find out more]
● Smart tips recommend you faster and smarter ways to operate your phone, appearing in specific usage scenarios and responding to your usage habits.
● Contacts and Email now let you sync the career details of your LinkedIn contacts.
● Settings has been redesigned for clearer and more intuitive organization.
● Gallery now features a recycle bin that retains deleted photos for up to 30 days. Accidentally deleted photos can be restored with a single touch.
● Phone Manager has been simplified to make managing your device easier. Standard cleanups are faster and deep cleanups more thorough.
● Your device can now connect to two different Bluetooth devices at the same time, such as a band and a car.
Important:
1. Automatic time zone uses location information to set a time zone when Location information is enabled.
2. Due to the redesign of Settings, the location of certification logos, legal information, and regulatory information (if applicable) has been altered.
3. To improve your experience, Smart notifications will be updated when you are connected to Wi-Fi. You can disable auto-updates in Settings.
4. Your device may automatically download and install updates from your carrier and device manufacturer (may use mobile data) after the update. This feature is enabled by default. You may disable it in Settings > System > Developer options.
Update notes:
1. You are advised to back up data before the update. After the update, certain pre-installed third-party apps on Android 7.0 may be uninstalled. They will still be available in App Store.
2. Some third-party apps that are not compatible with Android 8.0 may function incorrectly after the update. It is recommended that you update these apps to their latest versions in the Google Play Store.
3. This system version can be rolled back to the official version of EMUI 5.0 in Phone Manager. Rolling back the system version will erase your personal data. For more information, please contact the customer service hotline.
4. If you encounter any problems during the update, please contact the customer service hotline or visit an authorized Huawei service center for assistance which you can find.
5. Your home screen layout may be rearranged slightly.

[ROM] Custom ROM for MTK6580 Smartwatch (X5 Air / LEM5 Pro)

There has been quite a bit of development on the full smartwatch front recently; notably the OpenWatch project that is in full swing and pretty much covered all the main manufactures and variants that are available.
Hopefully a new OS will be available shortly; however in the meantime Id like to offer this ported Resurrection Remix to the community as I have been asked a number of times to release it for testing.
I have been using this for about a fortnight now and so far am very pleased with the results. Battery life has been tripled with hibernation, and root access provides more potential.
Please note that the UI has not been optimized for round screens however anything awkward can be done via PC and a screen cast app. Im using Vysor.
Installation:
Install .zip via TWPR in the usual fashion. Factory reset wipe is recommended.
As always please process a full backup of your existing software inc. all partitions you have available (NVRAM etc) before flashing so you have a safe return point.
Details:
Resurrection Remix ROM 5.5.9 for MTK6580
Android Version: 5.1.1
Kernel: 3.10.72+
Ported for: Finox X5 AIR / LEMFO LEM5 Pro
Known Bugs:
Bluetooth - file transferring is 50/50
Display not optimised
No clock engine - please use Ricktops Universal Launcher to regain this function.
Palm brightness - use home button to turn screen on and off.
Suggestions:
Please allow 5+ minutes for OS for intial loading after flash.
Kernel editor - reduce max CPU frequency to 600Mhz
Install Xposed framework for Lollipop 5.1.1
Greenify (and enable framework in Xposed)
Change DPI to 200 - play around with this to see what suits you best
Enable expanded desktop for all apps
Use Battery Saving Mode and Airplane Mode when possible.
Once you have set up everything do a further backup to save you setting everything up again.
All credits to the Resurrection Team for their ROM. I have not altered any aspect of the original, simply ported this over to my device.
This should work on any 5.1.1 smartwatch if properly ported using your stock files. Please see ported folder in download link to see which file I have corrected. Replacing these files with your own stock resources should work.

Here is the ported Resurrection ROM for the Thor Pro - I honestly have no idea if this will work as I cant test it, but in theory it should?
You mentioned that you have a full backup already, I would suggest copying the BACKUP folder from the TWRP folder on your SD card to your PC so you can transfer it back in the event you need to do a full wipe if this bootloops. If you are using SPFT then chances are you will return back to stock recovery unless you modify the stock fw. From experience, its easier to just do a fresh flash when these thing dont work.
If you see the RR logo, wait a good 5-10 minutes for it to load. If it doesnt, chances are the port failed. In which case Im sorry.
Id also grab the Universal Launcher from an apk mirror so you can get the watch functions back and also using Vysor to set it up makes it much easier. Suggestions are in post above.
With regards to the connect phone app, it should work - Im using watchdroid to ping notifications over and it works with no issues.
Good luck! And let us know how you get on. Fortune favours the bold.

Awesome man, thanks a lot! I will test it tomorrow because it is 23:30 here in Portugal so its late. But tomorrow once I get back from work I will test it. Btw does it include the "connect phone" app to be able to use with wiiwatch? Or do I have to install later as system app or something?

I hope it works for you; would open it up for more people to hopefully improve it.
Im sorry Im not familiar with connect phone or wiiwatch? If its a app that came with the watch you could maybe look for it on the manufactors website? However WiiWatch - Watch Assistant is available on the app store (or an apk mirror) if this is what you mean? Could try that.
Keep us posted.

The connect phone app comes pre installed on the stock rom and that's what makes it able for the wiiwatch app to find the phone...and I have no other alternative because I have an iPhone:/. Anyway I will try the rom!
It didn't work...some errors like "error 7" and some "symlinks missing". I think I am going to sell it because it simply does not work properly with the iphone, it causes major battery drain on my phone because of the wiiwatch app to connect=/
But thanks a lot for your help!

Damn error 7 - i removed the asserts from the updater script - so it could be a number of other things.
Im sorry it didnt work mate. I would be up for trouble shooting it with you but would be so hard pin pointing the problem without a device to test it on here. Best just wait for OpenWatch to be released, or as you said sell it. I wonder what the delivery would be from Portugal to UK? : )
I appreciate you giving it a shot, ill remove the link so no-one else tries.
All the best.

I am now waiting for the battery to run out because I don't know the combination to boot into twrp xD. Also, unlike cellphones, forcing the power button doesn't turn it off, it just keeps rebooting. Thanks a lot for your help. I contacted zeblaze and they said they would look into the issues. First they sent me a firmware to try (which was older than the one you based the rom on, which was the same that came with my watch lol). Zeblaze seems to be very unorganized, even their site does not have firmware available to download...its a shame really, I wish i had bought a lemfo or kingwear!

If you want to speed it up remove the backplate and follow the battery ribbon to the motherboard. If you use something pointy but rounded you can just pop the contact up (disconnecting the battery) then push it back on. But you will most likely need to reflash with SPFT unless you have a way of booting into TWRP from power off.
It is ashame they arent more on the ball with updates etc, ive heard this alot with zeblaze. definetely go LEMFO or KW next - ive been told these have a very secure future and support is now officially by the RASC community from what I know.
Yeah that’s bad they don’t want to support the Thor pro is a really good budget device with big screen and outside readable, we still have the original firmware and not updated, yeah I have an IPhone to and the Bluetooth connection is not so good but it works the Bluetooth calling works too good and I have to install an app Volume booster because is so low and for the position of the hardware is really bad this device has potential. I am waiting for my Lemfo LemX
Good work on the port. Im trying to get RR on my Microwear H2 (1gb 16gb) I have a working TWRP recovery. Could you point me in the direction of the port guide you followed for your watch so i can try and port it myself. Thanks
Also, have you managed to port any higher versions of android for your watch? I am aware of the Openwatch project, which brought me to your post.
EDIT: Just read the last few lines of your 1st post. Will have a go as you have suggested. Thanks
