You maybe didn't noticed, but your phone comes with Snapdragon 800, and other S4's are either Snapdragon 600 or Exynos...

I9505 will be leading even then my friend I doubt that Samsung will ever release complete req codes which makes work tuff for dev
Sent using S4 / M7
If you want to have the choice of anything other than modified stock roms then you are better off with the Snapdragon mate.
Being the basis for the Google edition should mean aosp development is mighty fine.

Your better of with a i9505 for custom roms.
I9505 all the way.

What is Samsung I9500 Galaxy S4?

Hey I'm new to this site so sorry if this is the wrong place to post or if it had been answered before!
What does it mean when people refer to the S4 as the Samsung I9500? I have the US Cellular SCH-R970 and I would like to root it and install a more stock android like rom on it and I've been trying to do some research but I keep getting hung up because I don't see my model listed very much. I do how ever see everyone throwing out Samsung I9500 though. Can someone explain this and possibly point me in the right direction?
i9500 is the international exynos version i think.
i9505 is the international snapdragon 600 version.
i9506 is the international snapdragon 800 version.
there are also other models. you can find a lot more info on gsmarena.com

Thanks for getting back to me. That makes sense. So do you know if the US Cellular version of the S4 is limited in roms I can put on it? Like I said, I haven't really seen much on my version.
Well it depends very much on the number of devices sold.
depending on what you want - if you like a specific custom rom - you should search for it on the forums or strait through google. It is very easy to search for something like: SCH-R970 cyanogenmod 11 xda -> resulting in some useful threads.
good luck! and good flashing!

sm-G900F vs sm-G900FQ

Hi Guys,
I am "desperately" looking for some info/support regarding my galaxy S5.
I own a phone model SM-G900FQ which is a variant of the european SM-G900F but sold on the Turkish market.
I did some research, and I don't see any major difference between the F and FQ versions.
I am not Turkish, I don't speak Turkish and I don't live in Turkey. I would really love to flash my cellphone with a custom ROM but I am really unsure of what roms would be supported for this device.
Could someone help me identify what kind of ROM versions are compatible? I check the unified development area, but I can't tell if this phone is a kletmo or klte or something else.
I would love to install CM12 on this cell phone
i am not %100 sure, but i know that they are both exactly the same phones. g900fq and g900f have got same specification. They both have got 2 gb ram, snapdragon 801AC and adreno 330. their name are different only and it's just for marketting in my opinion

Yes, they seem to be exactly identical so I was hoping that I could use ROMs designed for the g900f on this phone.
It really feels like I am one of the only owners of this model on earth. So difficult to find information or guidance ^^
Just wanted to come and update this topic.
I flashed successfuly my galaxy S5 with the cyanogenmod rom compatible with the SM-G900F.
It is no longer regognized as SM-G900FQ
Just in case someone in my situation is wondering

i think s4 have better development
Hi,
If you want newer devices with arm64 processor architecture, A5 is the best for you. You can upgrade it to 5.0.2 Lollipop via OTA for the best experience with arm64 devices.
But, if you end up yourself choosing S4, I suggest you to buy GT-I9505 or GT-I9506, not GT-I9500/GT-I9515. Developments on both devices are harder than in GT-I9505 or GT-I9506.

I never test both devices for real (I don't have both GT-I9505 and SM-A500F (A5)). But, at least, both devices have same battery capacity.

What model is the s4? There are models that use Qualcomm and Samsung processors and the ROMs are specific to each processor.

i9500 exynos
I don't see an official CM13 for the i9500 that supports LTE.
According to the specs, the phone cannot support LTE and flashing a ROM won't enable LTE as far as I know: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9500_galaxy_s4-5125.php

its not lte. i said he was using non-lte.
Sorry for my misunderstanding. When you mentioned that you have the international s3 (there are international versions of the s3 that have LTE: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9305_galaxy_s_iii-5001.php), I thought you were asking about LTE on the s4.
Since the phone is an i9500 and the CM13 is for the i9500, it should be fine to update. If the phone is running CM12.1 or older, a full system wipe before installing CM13 may be necessary.
