Obviously,

Why would you want to use a mobile phone in a shower?

The S5 has flawlessly survived an hour inside a pool in 4ft deep water and an hour inside a washing machine -- it'll be fine in the shower :good:

In a boat? Can I use it in a boat? Can I use it in a boat while I wear a coat? How about next to a goat? Can I use it on a boat, wearing a coat, sitting next to a goat?

Yes, you will be electrified instantly as it packs a 220V battery which will zapp you untill the battery runs out This is why i never accept calls while i`am deep sea diving

Lolz, I didnt knew XDA Forums only packs trolls answers this days (this tread is full of them). I am doing a honestly serious question, I would like to use my phone in the pool or bathtub, currently I have the S4 and considering this a strong point to get the S5. I dont know enough of electronic devices to be sure if a phone can be risky for you under such circunstances (I heard stories about phones zaping people while not even on the water) so i just wanted to have some advice. Thanks anyways I suppose?

Oke serious, its an insulated 5V battery which cannot zapp you under normal circumstances, even if water is involved cause its build for that. And don`t believe these fake here say story`s. How many times has Elvis been seen since he died, do you believe that too?

Even though the phone is meant to be water resistant, I still wouldn't take it for granted. Low temperature water is almost certainly fine but may cause condensation inside the phone if the water is cold enough to cool the phone considerably, and likewise steam is a far different animal than in liquid form but should be safe as well.
Just make sure you close the flap securely as well as the battery cover properly.

Got this thing in at work today. It was an AT&T version. Scavenged the speaker for a coworker and LED board for a spare. but holy hell, this thing had a rough life. looks like it was roughly taken apart before I got to it. Makes me kind it sad. :-(

How did you get it?

the people that butcher these things can suck it imo.
imo we should have pulled the display just for S's&G's...
Is that huge piece of copper part of the flex circuit, or just a heat spreader under the battery?
Are you selling any parts? If that AMOLED/Digitizer is still apart (never been replaced/pulled apart) im willing to buy it.
I replaced mine, and the screen keeps getting dust under it. Once the digitizer is replaced, it's hard to keep dust from getting under it.
Both myself and crusher work for a used electronics reseller... its already on ebay... its broken though so you might be able to get it for cheap. The bids start @ $1
And no the diaplay/digitizer havent been separated.

Spontaneous screen crack sg3

Hiya guys I've had the most interesting thing happen to my .sg3 yesterday. The only way to explain it is as a spontaneous screen crack! My phone just cracked by itself!! Yes without a lie! It's the most microsceptic crack I've seen and after a few minutes looking at it i decided to measure the location and it's exactly in the middle of the panel! No one believes me and people think I'm stupid. i was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I've done some research and have found that other Samsung phones have done this but there isn't allot of info about it.

Show a pic of the crack if possible?
Well from what info I've gathered on the web it is very rare!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
probably because of the curved glass. Curved things tend to bend when they reach certain point. the gorilla glass 2 being thinner than its predecessor should crack easier especially when bent. Send it back to Samsung, the crack seems natural and is a Samsung fault rather
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I believe you. My friends AMOLED screen crached but the glass was perfectly fine on his Droid RAZR. It was extremely weird and did not make any bit of sense.
Well see the thing is i didn't even move from my desk at work when this happened! It's so so strange. What would be the best way of contacting Samsung about this , because atm I've talked to official Samsung repair people and they all say I'm crazy and 3 just told me I'm a liar and that i broke it on purpose. With many (if not most) cases, when the phone is face down the screen is raised from the surface. So if your phone falls face first, the screen won't make contact with the surface. Obviously if the surface is very jagged then the display may hit it. The case (particularly dual layer varieties) also adds a little bit of shock protection that will help decrease the chance of shattering the screen from blunt force to other parts of the phone.

today I sent it to repairs, they couldn't give me any estimate of price, but when I hear from them I will report back with that info and when they repair it if possible I will also report final cost.
Only thing they estimated was that it is going to take about 2 weeks!
My One is she because well it's my One but not only and it also seems to break up easily..
It had this kind of case, but did not help when dropped face down since there was some small rocks.

Not only Backglass unglues.

I've been using my Xperia Z with good care, used it to do alot of high-end gaming and the phone really gets hot, but one thing I love to do is listen to music, I don't use a Bluetooth connection or anything and it has apparently put straint on the phone panels.
I noticed this earlier today while plugging in my headphones, like normal.

Seriously buddy OMG...i had that top left panel unglue issue on my XZ...but this is seriously bad....
Go to Sony Service. I've read on another forum (cant' remember where) that a guy got his phone replaced for something like that.
When I read this I had to see how bad mine was since my backglass is unglued. Pulled off the headphone flap en lifted that other part up and tadaa, same issue. When I did it it made some noise like the glue fell apart.
I think you better don't try it, since it seemed to be good until I tried, lol. Gotta get my backglass repaired anyway so I'll tell them about this problem also. I hope they swap it for a new one haha.

I haven't used any chemical substances at all. I've used my phone like you should.
This is just weak glue, due to phone getting very warm, and while I listen to music the flap rests on the panel, which makes it open.
Why would anyone use chlorine on their phone

maybe Samsung/Apple will fight over this and send him a new phone and make a big thing... lol
I noticed a few things
1st He says the phone was in his rear pocket and then burn marks are of his legs.
2nd The OPO also seems like it had an impact from outside heat instead of bursting from inside.
He maybe honest but I've had a phone explode on me and the damage wasn't this severe.
This is likely simply an issue with the individual device/battery, I doubt OnePlus have cheaped out on the battery and every smartphone uses a Lithium Ion or Lithium Polymer battery. Once these batteries have heated up or malfunctioned badly, due to the high concentration of power in a small area there is nothing stopping the reaction continuing. Similar things happen regularly with Samsung phones and even iPhones.
OnePlus are going to reimburse him for the phone, his clothes, and any medical bills.
Tl;Dr - seems like a catastrophic failure that is just in the nature if Lithium Ion/polymer batteries

Unless your ass has a solid 90 degree angle and its edge rests dead center on the OnePlus One, and you weigh more than 300 or so pounds, you're you not going to "puncture" the battery...

What are you talking about, the burn marks are exactly where they should be on the side of his butt, right where the the side of the back pocket burned and the side that bursted on the OnePlus One.
The the plastic melted exactly as it should if the heat was applied from the interior of the phone too...
