No to temperature
Yes to pedometer

No, temperature for S5. But you can always download Thermometer - for Galaxy S5 on Play Store
Thermometer - Galaxy S5 uses phone's temperature sensor to measuse instant temperature. It gives real time temperature with frequent updates. If the device does not have a temperature sensor the temperature updates are provided through web service. The colors indicate the air temperature.

Wait. So why are people saying no thermometer and then there's an app for it?
Doesn't it need a hardware sensor?
It are you guys saying it's just not in the s health app?
Confused

So sad. Out of all the gimmicks on the s4, the temperature sensor was the most useful

Yes but tablets don't have proximity sensors (other than 7.7,7plus ) and it seems functioning only in the test menus so I think Samsung hide It for some reason as they haven't announced it in the official specifications , by the way have you tried it yourself

Does it have a SIM card slot? If not, there's no GSM radio and therefore no dialer.

The only news about a "grip sensor" on Samsung's device was revealed on Samsung Continuum Device which was a device with a 2nd display on the bottom released in december 2010... that display, show info about weather, news etc when you press the Grip sensor without wake up the first display..
I can't find other function about this "grip sensor" ...

Yes the iPad have magnetic field detector to feel ,magnets same idea but not same thing as the grip sensor in our note ,

Moto active display

So I just found out that the reason why Moto active display is so amazing is because it doesn't consume hardly any battery due to the amoled display only waking a few pixels. Is there any way we will see this on our phones since they use an amoled or is it dependant on the Motorola framework?

I think it's also dependent on the low power cores designed specifically for that feature.
You will not get Moto X branded features on your Galaxy 4. Period.
The only way it will happen is if someone other than youself makes it happen, on AOSP.
Cheers
I like the Google now always on feature where you can just talk and it responds. Any app that's going to be like that for the s4?

prob temp and humidity sensor
Yes, I see it... I have no idea what it could be. It's not listed on the Consultant Guide or the Manual (http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/c...UM_EU_Jellybean_Eng_Rev.1.0_130910_Screen.pdf )
It is no doubt a sensor, though which remains a mystery.
Temp and humidity sensor. Is the only one.who needs contact with the surrounding air. On the bottom the heat from the process will alter the readings. I'm 100% that i'm right about this.

What is your source?
Common sense. I do.have S4 with temp.and.humidity sensor and it's a hole more than the two mics. The Note 3 the same, only other placement of the hole. the S4 active does not have the temp and humidity sensor...so no extra hole, just thw two mics.

Isn't humidity and barometer sensor supposed to help with location in google maps? And I would suspect that those might be useful in a crowd sourcing app or whatever for more accurate weather per location if it is available to be used that way which as of now I don't think it is.
This article is an interesting read about how the sensor got incorporated into samsung devices/android.
Acording to Anandtech it's actually the third microphone that's used for noise cancellation : http://www.anandtech.com/show/7376/samsung-galaxy-note-3-review

I'm using the same app but the problem is I have to leave the cell phone away from hands on order to reach almost the actual temperature

Even if I left my N3 on the table, the temperature reading is still at least 2 deg higher. You can try this app 'weather station', it is able to offset the error.

Phone has temp/humidity sensor like s4 it just needs some time to so accurate measurement because it affected by our heat in pockets/bags etc. It needs some time to show correct values and is pretty accurate.
Also keep in mind not to block the sensor who is in right bottom side, it's a hole and if you use a case it must have also a hole for it.

Strange
Samsung says that the Galaxy Note 3 comes equiped with the following sensors:
Sensors:
Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, RGB light, Barometer, Proximity, Gesture, Temperature & Humidity, Hall sensor
https://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/mobile/galaxy-note/galaxy-note/SM-N900WZKEBMC-spec
And indeed, my Note 3 has all these sensors.

Not using Moto or Ambient Display?

I've seen a few people mention that they aren't using Moto or Ambient Display, so my question is: what are you using to get notifications without turning on your screen? I've tried the 2 apps I could find that were supposedly supposed to enable the hidden led, but neither worked well. So is there an xposed module or some other method y'all are using? Thanks in advance.

How is ambient display triggered? Does it always display a notification or does it use proximity sensors or gyro to turn on when it's picked up or pulled out of pocket? Mine almost never works.

I'm not sure we are understanding each other. Earlier, you said that you use ambient display, but now you say that ambient display doesn't work on our devices. Why would you use a feature that doesn't work instead of just turning it off?
