It will work, GS5 supports up to 128GB micro-sd cards (currently only Sandisk has one).

MicroSDXC
okej, but with MicroSDXC card is the fastest on the market right now ?
Samsung UHS-1 Pro 64GB Class 10 MicroSDXC ?

SanDisk 16GB fastest microSD
95MB/s read - 90 MB/s write
SanDisk 64GB very fast microSD
80MB/s read - 50 MB/s write
SanDisk 128GB regular microSD
30MB/s read - less than 30 MB/s write
Samsung 64GB very fast microSD
70MB/s read - 20 MB/s write
These are advertised speeds, I don't know about reliability and actual speeds. Somehow I'm more inclined buying the Samsung one, somehow it makes me feel it's more compatible. Just my opinion.

I agree, I feel more comfortable buying a Samsung for the compatibility feeling.
I just recently purchased the 64GB Sammy that you listed for my S5.

Does the S5 allow you to move apps to SD card like my current S4?

There are numerous people on here, and on other forums, that also has had issues with the Samsung cards. SD cards are a hit and miss these days.
I personally went for the latest Samsung pro 64GB one that was released today on Amazon. Hoping it can last for a long time, but we'll see.

UHS-1 microSd standard

Hey, anybody has tried an uhs-1 microsd? I know that works, but the thing is if it works at high speeds (70mb /20mb), like the uhs-1 standard allows it

using sd card tester on a Samsung pro UHS-1 microsd card I get 11MB/s write and 30MB/s read so not the full potential but still better than just a class 10 card.
Increase you SD RD/WR speeds

For increasing your read or write speed of your sd cards. You have to ROOT your device. Once you do that Tweak your SD Cache value. Your RD/WR speed will increase considerably.
FYI the sweet spot for my Class 6 SD card is 3072KB.
Good Luck
Yes, t if the phone has an uhs1 compatible slot, it would be much faster..

So, does i9500 it is or it is not compatible with uhs-1? I just bought a samsung sdxc uhs-1 and im getting only 15mb\s writing and 30mb\s reading speeds... Is it my card a cheap falsification or the s4 it selft that is not compatible with uhs-1?

Had posted a similar query to the Samsung support staff; their reply was that the S4 optimally supports Class 10 microSD card. No point in spending money for a I/O device which doesn't use its full potential.

Smartphones didn't catch up yet with the speeds of the new Sd cards. Perhaps future smartphone models will. Your card is fine.
The i9505 at least doesn't even come close to UHS-1 speeds with my Samsung 64gb uhs-1 microsd.

That's disappointing - I bought a 16GB UHS-1 card which does about 90MB/sec in my USB 3.0 reader... on the S4 I get 10-20MB/sec. Alright for storage, but not good for app data.

Exactly, at this time those high speeds can only be achieved with a dedicated card reader. AFAIK there is no smartphone yet to support UHS-1 high speed. Even so, comparing the Sd card speed test results from your phone with other cards on the market, you're good. Most important is in my opinion is to have a reliable, error free Sd card.

[Q] Which Micro SD card should I take?

Hey guys, i'm about to buy a Micro SD card to my galaxy s4 and i'd like to hear your opinions.
What do you think is better:
SanDisk Memory Card Mobile Ultra 32GB Class 10
OR
Samsung Micro SD 32GB Class 10 Plus UHS-I SDHC
I’m not sure what should I take… thanks!!
Go with Samsung...

I've used both Samsung and SanDisk but I can tell that Samsung is slightly better at the cost of reading and writing data
Go with the samsung if u want better write/read speed, I got the Sandisk 32gb micro sd card because it was cheaper and I wasn't impressive by its write speed and read speed, but overall it's still good. U get what u paid for

Plz, I want a reliable micro sd for note 3

I was using my old 32 kingstone class 4 and it suddenly died and now I am going to buy a new one ,which one you recommend me for buying ? , I read about SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 and what type of format most reliable for it?

I have the SanDisk 64 Ultra. Only had it and my note3 for a few days but it works fine. Format the card on the phone for best results in my opinion.

Anything below class 8 is at risk of breakdowns on a newer model phone. They're fine for older and less advanced models, but not the new high-end ranges.
Sandisk or Samsung's own line of SDcards is your best bet.
I've personally never had issues with Sandisk.
Had a Medion class 6 one and that one kept becoming unwritable every few days.
Thx for help , I ordered SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQU-064G-AFFP-A from amazon.com

Source? I've had a 64GB SanDisk micro since they cost $100, across two Note IIs and now two Note IIIs and never had a problem with the sd card.

You're on the source. It's XDA and the many, many experiences from users. Plus of course general advice from Samsung itself.
To my knowledge SanDisk never made the 64GB MicroSD's below class 10... It was announced second (After Kingmax, iirc) and first to market the 64GB MicroSDXC in September 2011, and that was a class 10....
The "basic" range doesn't go above 32GB.
Well I was hoping more for an article or study as to why a slower card would inherently cause problems.
My card is a Sandisk 64gb Mobile Ultra. It didn't have a class rating on it but Google says that's Class 10. I paid $96 for it...Amazon sells them for $43 now. Damn.

It's mine. Not so bad
You can also get a 64gb samsung pro sd card from best buy for $60 on sale instead of $100.
just search Samsung - Pro 64GB microSDHC Memory Card

SD too slow warning on a class 10 UHS-1 card??

Just wondering if anyone could agreed some light on this issue. I bought my Moto X Force yesterday and decided to use my 64gb Sansisk Class 10 UHS-1 card as internal storage. However for some reason the phone did not recommend this stating the card was slow. It's speed is what is recommended from Motorola so not sure why it said this. Thanks.
Same here (Original Class 10 UHS-1 64GB Samsung from Amazon)

Bit strange isn't it. I've got another 64gb class 10 lying around somewhere so may try that one.

You should use a Class 10 - U3 card. U1 cards have reasonable read speeds but generally inconsistent poor write speeds. It's why they are so cheap these days.
For internal storage use and especially maintaining performance and no hiccuping with 4k recording etc, you should stick to U3 variants which have far greater and consistent write speeds.
Essentially not all Class 10 cards are fast, and you do get what you pay for ...

Will UHS class sd card works on s4?

I am planning to purchase sandisk pro UHS class 32 gb sd card but I dont know whether s4 is UHS host or non UHS host.
Thanks
It will most probably recognize the sd card, but I don't know if it will read/write at the maximum speed available.
Kingston 32 GB UHS-I U3 90R/80W (SDCA3/32GB) works without any problem on my S4
