[Q] Bricked lgp700 after flashing cm 11.0 - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am very new to rooting etc. I rooted my phone a few days ago, unlocked bootloader and tried to flash cm11.0 with rom manager (cwmg) following this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521239
Unfortunately I didn´t understand the instructions well, so after wiping caches, instead of doing a full format I did a user data etc format (which i now think was a factory reset). Tried flashing, didn´t succeed.
Anyway, when I try to switch it on I only get the lg logo and then the batery charging thingy When I try to go to recovery mode with volume up power and menu button, my phone goes on a loop of lg and cyanomod logos untill infinity ( Have to take off the battery). Tried to use heimdall (as i have a mac) to flash kdz back to it, but phone was not recognized. On my pc tried the same, but again phone not seen. I can see it on my computer as an unrecognized external usb but cannot explore. Any ideas on what to do??
thanks in advance

As soon as you plug your USB into your phone, hold down the volume up (+) button and the power button and release them after holding them down for about 2 to 3 seconds. Then, install the USB driver for your phone with the LG Mobile Support Tool. Secondly, download and install the LG PC Suite program and last but not least, download the KDZ program. Install the correct firmware for your phone and make sure you select 'EMERGENCY' from the list on the top right of the KDZ program. Select your downloaded firmware file and start the program. If everything worked out, the program should crash after it's done and your phone should reboot. Disconnect your phone from the computer if it doesn't reboot and try to boot it up again.
You can find all of these programs along with tutorials on how they work by searching on either XDA or Google.

did forcing recovery/download work ?

the phone off usb in and buttons did it work ?

Actually didn´t work,I have drivers already, LG PC Suite program , and KDZ. Problem is my phone is not detected by pc, so kdz unzips and then says : phone not detected, with or without battery...doesn´t go into recovery mode with buttons, just lg and cyanomod logos...
I don`t know if this can b fixed.....How can you flash anything if it´s not detected....
I´ll give it a try again tomorrow, without trying to enter recovery mode....but tried lots of buttons combinations and wasn´t working

Press these buttons
volume +
,volume -
home button
together with the power button
release all buttons except power button when you get a vibration
release the power button immediately after the lg logo has appered
this should let you get in the recovery menu

It just stays there (I waited for 2 hours and it didn't change,so I turned it off)

Enter download mode, and flash your firmware like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409308 or just open LG Mobile Support Tool and select "Recover Phone". It does the same thing but it's easier.
Nothing's lost, you'll get it fixed.

My guess is 20A is ICS, 10C is the first release of Gingerbread, and 10E whatever update they did to it. If you're not sure, go with the LG Mob Supp Tool, it's safer and easier.

Did it work before with the exact firmware update you had? Remove the battery of your phone and re-insert it (don’t turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and Volume Down button. While you are pressing the two buttons, press the Power button or insert USB cable (try both if it doesn't work). Or try with: phone off, volume down + insert cable. I don't know the exact combination for your phone.

Even if you can't go to download mode you'll still be able to use kdz on it. just plug it in and start it. And btw, be careful next time. My Optimus L7 got hard bricked and I needed to go to LG for them to fix it.

[HOW-TO] The easiest way to unbrick your LG G Pad 8.3

1. Download LG Mobile support tool (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B687GQAEIeHiX0ZSeHp2NlhhalU/edit)
2. Install it as a normal software
3. Once it is successfully installed, run the program
4. Put your tablet into Download Mode (make sure the device is Powered Off and Unplugged, Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down, then Plug In a USB Cable)
5. Run the LG Mobile Support Tool program
6. Click on "Options -> Upgrade Recovery" on the upright corner
7. It should start downloading stock firmware right away
8. Wait for it ......
9. A flash will be performed right after Once it finishes downloading
10. Wait until the tablet reboots. Done!!!
You may need to do a factory reset If you stuck in a bootloop
-Power off the device
-Press and hold the Power button and Volume down button at the same time
-When the LG logo shows up, let go both of the two buttons for a second, and then press them again
-A Factory reset promote should be shown on the screen. Follow the onscreen instructions to perform a factory reset.

It's about 1.4gb but you can use the flash tool instead just download the kdz then flash via flash tool
We can use Loki to bypass the bootloader, we just need the dev to port the tool to our device! All that needs to be done is for someone to provide the build number and a copy of the aboot partition to him in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358871 - will do this once my device has arrived
This worked and brought me back to stock everything. Perfect for me to return to store. Thanks
Thank you very much ! My tablet not boot with the last slimkat build unofficial....
I only see the UK stock Rom in other threads, will this reset a US tab back to the stock Rom?
Hi, thank you for this tutorial.
I made a huge mistake flashing a 4.4.2 Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617476) on my stock rooted rom (I misunderstood the instruction and thought it was stock-compatible...).
Consequently, my G Pad is not able to boot anymore, even in recovery mode.
After several attempts, I succeed in putting the G Pad in download mode and I followed the procedure described in post #1. During the downloading process, I was surprised that the G Pad "reboots" periodically, by staying in download mode. This didn't bother me until the next recovery step.
Indeed, during the S/W upgrade, this reboot leads to "losts phone connection" error and recovery failure... It seems to append every 2min30s.
Do you have any idea of why it happens or what is it ? Any trick to make the G Pad stay in download mode longer ?
Make sure your device is fully charged and turned off.
Simultaneously press and hold the power and volume down buttons.
When the LG logo shows up, release the power button only.
Now press and hold the power and volume up button while keeping your hold on the volume down button.
When the factory reset screen appears, release your hold on all buttons.
Press the power button to continue.
Press the power button again to confirm if you’re sure you wish to continue with the reset.
For the OP this is the true hard reset button combination!
Thank's for your advice r3stor3 ! :good:
You were right, my G Pad had indeed too low battery to recover, although it has been plugged all day to my laptop. So I charged it all night with the LG charger and tried the recovery process again in the morning (the one in OP #1, not the hard reset), and it worked !
Nonetheless, after recovery, the system display only 1% battery. But that's another story...
Have a nice day !
[Edit : Nevermind, after being fully discharged, it starts to charge again. Everything is fine now.]
I'd like to flash a custom recovery and cm11 on my LG g pad. I'm worried about my warranty. Does this methods would put my tablet back as day one in order to return it if I ever need to?

Although I didn't try and flash what you did, I wasn't able to put mine into Download mode to recover it either and only received a black screen! Turned out it was just ridiculously low on charge. I knew it was 'working' because with a USB cable in to the PC and holding the power button on the tab it was making connect and disconnect noises. Your best bet is to plug it into the mains charger and hold the power and/or power + vol down (I'm not sure what worked, I did a combination) until you get an LG logo. when you get to that, let it charge fully. (You should see the battery logo on screen)
Shouldn't have a problem once it's fully charged.

Haven't seen this before..

Hi guys,
I recently installed Simple ROM (Stock Android 5) for my G2 D802 however, I've found a need to downgrade back to 4.4.2. I went to flash a stock rooted 'H' version of the ROM which i've used before however during the flash, I got the error 'error executing updater binary' during the process.
After searching on google, it seems that I needed a newer version of TWRP (I had to change to a 'bumped' version to install the Simple ROM).
Having flashed 2.8.4 of TWRP, I rebooted the device however I now have the following issues:
- The device boots, shows the LG logo and the LED flashes
- The device never finishes it's boot
- I can not access recovery mode using the key combinations required
- The device doesn't seem to turn 'off'. When I press and hold the power button, the screen goes blank (though, still on) and then shows the LG logo again
I suspect, that because I cannot turn it off, I cannot boot to recovery.
Any thoughts on a quickfix?
EDIT: - It seems that I CAN turn the device off by holding vol UP, DOWN and POWER for a few seconds. I can get into download mode this way..

Make sure you're trying both combinations possible for recovery, PWR + VOL DWN > PWR + VOL DWN method as well as the PWR + VOL DWN > VOL DWN + VOL UP method. You may be on a different recovery then what you think (happened to me once). The fact you can enter download mode is great however, worst case you can always return to stock.

Not going so well.. Installed everything on my Windows machine but it doesn't seek to pick up the device in download mode.
If I select 'Read phone information' on the Flash tool, it stops responding and I end up needing to close it. Also, in the Flash tool, what should I select under 'select type' - it defaults to CDMA..
I can skip the 'read phone info' bug and just hit START which then loads the 'select country and language' view, then the LG Mobile Support which doesnt pick up the device.
help?

Have you installed the LG Drivers? Link
If you have, when your phone is connected open device manager on your PC and see if you can spot your android device, or anything that represents your device.
Everything you need to select is in that thread I Iinked you too.
You dont need to change anything within the tool, keep cdma selected and just make the language english, you can keep the country on korea it doesnt matter.

Yup AFAIK everything is installed. The device was picked up by the machine as it did ask me install more drivers.
The main issue seems to be sat with the LG mobile support tool. It continuously fails due to an error and nothing progresses on the device itself.
The only thing i've noticed is that the bottom of the device screen, shows 'B18' and 'Rooted'. The B# keeps increasing, though?

The B is just your current battery percentage. It will increase as it gathers charge from the USB connectivity, nothing to worry about.
As for why there's no communication between the software and your phone, I can't explain that but it's obviously looking like a driver problem. Try opening the LG Flash Tool log file found in C:\LGMobileUpgrade\log.txt.
Copy and paste the entire log onto pastebin and I'll have a look at it for you.

May I suggest putting your kdz file in the LG Flash Tool folder.
Also does the LG Flash Tool stay at 0% or does it increase before failing? May I also suggest trying this on other Operating Systems if at all possible.

Not that I'm aware of. Have you tried a hard reset?
Take your phone and turn it off.
Wait while your device is shutting down.
Then, press volume down button and power button together until the LG logo appears on the screen.
When the LG logo is displayed, let go of the power button, keep pressing the volume down key and then press once more the power button.
Once you do that, on your LG G2 the factory reset menu will be displayed.
Press power button in order to agree and wait while the hard reset is being completed.

That requires booting into the recovery though right? I can't get to that point. So yes, i've tried that but the LG logo just shows, and does not get to the reset or recovery screens.
The device just sits at the LG logo screen with the LED pulsing and changing colours.

I've been using Cyanogenmod 13.1 (rooted) and I decided to flash a ROM with Nougat. I flashed lineage-14.1-20170320-nightly-d802-signed and open_gapps-arm-7.1-mini-20170325 and everything worked fine except I didn't have SuperSU. I tried flashing SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815 and when I tried to boot into system I got this screen (with the LG logo below) http://i.imgur.com/O7vOtab.png I tried many methods like this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 and this https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404 to no avail. In Linux when I used the ls /dev/sd* command in the terminal the phone wouldn't show up and later in Windows I got the PC to recognize the phone as Marshall USB Composite Device 9006 http://i.imgur.com/a5WHV9P.png and in Disk Management the phone partition shows up un-initialised http://i.imgur.com/XaVKIu7.png . Help I don't know what to do now. Tell me if I should provide more information.
I had the exact same problem. Then i found a solution. Just dont flash the normal Supersu, you need to flash the Supersu BUMPED file. Just go in recovery, press 10 sec the power button to be sure the phone is off, then hold volume down and power button until the logo appears, then release and press again (fast) then choose yes, yes. Just flash the Bumped and if recovery asks to do root choose NO.
The Bumped which worked for me

I hope i could help

Yeah Bad same Problem, turned off and it went on, then again bootloop. But if you press the power button long enough then its completely off. In cyanogen mod i had Problem that i couldnt get into recovery with power button+volume down.
So you should flash kdz, get oneclickroot for LG g2, then autorec lollipop to get recovery. Then flash Rom + gapps + The bumped file.
If you dont know how to flash kdz, you can ask here. I will help
Good luck

Previously I couldn't go into download mode but I will try now since I managed to turn off the smartphone completely. Before it would just stay on with a black screen.

Yeah Ok. When I wanted to turn It off, I just pressed the power button until the screen went black and the logo came again but after 2-3 sec the screen went black again, then it was off (just hold power button for 10sec)
Try that when your phone keeps restarting

KDZ flashing gets stuck at 60% (Verifying phone connection) http://i.imgur.com/AAHKqcd.png
Should I just let it sit through its emotional problems?

Get the lg mobile support tool, install it. Then open and connect your phone via download mode, it will find the phone and download the kdz for it. That should work.
If it doesn't install automatically, click on additional options then click on set upgrade error back, or something like that.
Before all that install the driver from
http://www.lg.com/de/support/service-mobil-telefon/lg-G2
Then you can start with lg mobile support tool

Turn off the phone. Plug the PC end of the USB cable in the PC. Press and hold volume up and plug in the USB cable in the phone. Hold it like that. After a couple of seconds, you should be in download mode. Then use LG Flashtool/LGUP to flash Lolipop/Marshmallow.
now stuck on logo

what frimware did you flash? can you try performing a factory reset? to do so:
1) turn off the phone
2) press and hold volume down + power keys until the lg logo appears
3) let go of the both keys for 1 second
4) immediately press and hold them again (both keys) until you get to a factory reset screen. Follow the onscreen instrucitons.

There's no custom roms for Qualcomm Spirit. At least not yet.
