try S2u2.
Do a search - there are a few similar discussions!
i like the pocket shield on my touch hd -> http://pocketshield.netserver01.com/
I´ve tried S2U2 on my Wizard with some strange problems like Battery drain etc. Pocketshield works so far, but i loved the simplyness of DeviceLock.
Isn´t there any way to lock the device on wake up? Pocketshield shouldn´t be the last fix for this problem....
PocketShield is the best for the HD.

What version?
I´ve tryed aout Phoneshield, but i wasn´t that surprised of it. Now i´ve tryed This:
Goto registry:
HKEY_CurrentUser\ControlPanel\Backlight\[AutoDeviceLockEnable set to 1]
HKEY_CurrentUser\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel\[LockLevel set to 1]
That works for me without installing any Software

ah that's fine thx
I would to know one thing, I see two different key to lock the phone:
AutoDeviceLockEnable
LockLevel
why? isn't enough only one of them? for example backlight lockenable?
pls explain to me what exactly these 2 keys so
quick question :
which registry entry governs the backlight display on the lock screen,
at the moment i've got the phone dimming after 30 seconds, then it locks and the light comes back on. for about 30 seconds. ideal the lock screen would be illuminated for about 10 seconds then blank the screen.
What reg entries do i need to set to sort this out ?
answers appreciated.
many thanks.

by default yes, but you can amend the function of the long key press if you like via the buttons menu in further options.
i've got mine killing off connections data/phone, for example with the power button at the top locking the phone.
works for me.
Hi!
I'm still struggeling to find the right way to lock the phone. The ideal solution would be to:
1) Have the phone unlocked when I switch it on with the Power button (so that I can immediately use it after deliberately turning it on)
2) Have the phone automatically locked when it wakes up due to a phone call or SMS (so that I don't press anything by accident when it is in my pocket).
This seems to be the only really logical way to use device lock. Can this be done?
Regards!
But PocketShield doesn not meet my requirements (see above post). It's just another regular device lock app without the possibility to disable the device lock when the unit is turned on with the power button.
Regards!
I found the Registry-Hack Solution is the better way, just my opinion. But can somebody tell me which reg-value must be edited to avoid locking with end-call button? I don´t want to lock my device in this way, i want to end Data connections with long pressed end-key.
easy
1) scroll along to settings
2) hit 'all settings'
3) select 'personal' tab
4) select 'buttons' icon (top left)
5) get your stylus out
6) on the buttons screen, hit the arrow on the bottom right until you can see the "end key" section. hit that.
7) in the options listed, select "automatically execute selected action" and underneath this select " terminate data connection"
8) hit the OK button (top right) and bob your dads brother, you can now terminate data calls via the long press call cancel key.
nice one.
Thx for that.....

I found a way to do do something like that you want. As i can see you have cm7 so you have the CM settings, I guess. There are 3 lockscreen settings which can do sort of what you want:
1) Go to ->Unlock options and enable Menu unlock & Disable unlock slider
2) Go to ->Delay and timeout and put screen timeout delay and screen turn off delay to max (30min i think).
So your phone after these setting will lock after 30 min of nonuse and will unlock by pressing the menu button without showing any slice to unlock!
Hope I helped...

Just open camera, look to the right bottom icon and you`ll see a flash sign, press that and hit A for autoflash.
exit HDR mode, in the touch menu (when you press the screen in the camera) you have to your upper left icon with camera and rounded arrow beneath it, press it and choose it, it will change to back camera, and now turn on the flash using the touch menu

Mod for Always ON Display to Double tap to Unlock possible?? (Nougat)

Hi friends, as nougat rollsout double tap notification to open respective applications in new Always ON Display.. is it possible to create application/mod/tasked profiles to put permanent notification in the status bar/AOD screen so that double tap the notification will wakeup lockscreen/fingerprint screen and then redirect to homescreen.
Please provide below your method of unlocking without pressing physical home button.
Also, is it possible to adjust Always ON Display screen brightness as it is too bright/dim in some lighting conditions.
THANKS Regards

Within Tasker You may use "autonotification" for that, I've posted an example here:
"Unlock from AOD without pressing power"
**EDIT**
autonotification not required anymore, plain vanilla Tasker is sufficient (link target updated)
Jut found another way to turning screen on without even touching the device (you still need to put your finger on the detector to unlock after that).
It's in accessibility settings -> "Dexterity and interaction" -> "Easy screen turn on"
Excerpt from official user guide:
Easy screen turn on
Turn on the screen by moving your hand above the sensor at the top of the device. You can
turn on the screen without pressing a key. When you use this feature, place the device on
a flat surface with the screen facing upwards or hold the device securely to prevent it from
moving.
On the Apps screen, tap Settings → Accessibility → Dexterity and interaction, and then tap
the Easy screen turn on switch to activate it.

This allows a nearly "Motorola type" experience (without the same level of sensitivity due to the lack of IR detectors though). Simply have to wave your hand over the screen.

It works flawlessly for me, I don't really see how to explain better: just need to approach my hand near the top of the screen (where the presence detector is located). No really need to wave, just sufficiently close and the locks screen show up instead of AOD.

How to disable notch (front camera) acting as power button?

I don't know at which time this got activated, maybe its a "feature" of the CarHD mod I am using, but its so annoying and I cant find how to disable it. I googled it, searched it here and in the phone menu, but no luck. Taping the front camera notch locks the phone, and holding it brings up the power menu. Its so useless and annoying, because I press it by mistake and lock my phone. The actual power button is much more easy to press. Anyone has the same issue? Have you found how to disable it?
Thanks in advance.
There would be an option in the carhd rom control app, perhaps in the status at section
