[Discussion][MaclawStudio] CyanogenMod 10 / 10.1 - Galaxy S III Mini General

Hello!
This is development thread of CyanogenMod 10 / 10.1 by MaclawStudio.
DEVELOPMENT THREAD

Awesome work so far guys. Currently running beta1 on my spare s3mini. All working except know issues keep it up
From the palm of my hand with enox reVenge AMD3 V4

Well seeing I never use my camcorder might as well try it out.
Here's my review on beta1:
Everything is quick and snappy, I like it. Doesn't seem like a beta at all.
I just want the 4.2.2 AOSP keyboard with gesture typing because that's the keyboard I'm used to.
Can't wait for the RC or Stable Release of this ROM. Great job!!
Review Beta2:
It seems exactly the same on top but I don't know what changed under the hood.
Fixed the 4.2.2 keyboard by flashing it separately myself to get gesture typing :highfive:
As for the issues:
Issues:
not fully video hardware acceleration
no camcorder and buggy panoramic mode
small tearing
Click to collapse
As for the video hardware acceleration, I haven't noticed the issue myself, don't take my word on it. :fingers-crossed:
haven't tried camcorder or panoramic mode, never use it anyways
small tearing is quite noticeable when scrolling, not that big of a deal coming from a 2nd beta release.
Keep up the good work!!!!
THE ORIGINAL THREAD WAS CLOSED, this is the only thread open still. Dang rules. Well gotta follow em. Hmm
Review 20130626:
Full android 4.2.2
Fast and snappy UI
YouTube works well
Lockscreen widgets are a plus
Games are a bit laggy (candy crush saga)
Battery life is decent. The only gripe I have is that at the end of the day when I need to recharge my battery it loses charge if I use the phone and charge. The problem is fixed after rebooting the phone while it's plugged in. After that it charges normally.
In call volume is low, it is fixed by hitting volUP then volDOWN in call.
I'm looking forward to many improvements in future releases. Keep up the good work maclaw!

It seems that beta1 is better than beta2 on tearing issue, but you can get microphone working on all app.

See what happens when you disable Wi-fi. I get no data and have to enable/disable airplane mode.
I've also noticed more tearing/flickering but I need mms to work so I'm staying on B2 for now.
It doesn't bother me that much since I mostly use it as a phone

As I said, flickering is back, because last fix was causing slowmotion.

Couple of tips.
- Don't like the Market spewing new apps on your home screen? Just disable it in the settings.
- The persistant search bar can be disabled in Trebuchet's settings.
- Nova Launcher is an alternate to Trebuchet. I'm using it. It has a couple of useful features, like grid size. You can also disable widgets in the drawer, and get your standard long-press menu back. I highly recommend doing this if you use Beautiful Widgets, as that will spam up your widget drawer. Use AppWidgetPicker 2.0 pushed to /system/app to take care of this.
- Want your 4G toggle? There's a widget for it. It'll show up in the quick panel later.
Unfortunately, the voice actions are not available as of yet. Voice Search can be downloaded from the Market, but the speech-to-text as demonstrated on the GNexus is nowhere to be seen. It's an upstream issue.

I haven't explored VVM yet, but will post when I've got something. EDIT: As of right now, VVM is just plain not happening. I switched to Google Voice, which works well at the moment.
I love it. It doesn't feel like an alpha. The only feature I hate is that the cancel and ok buttons have switched so the cancel button is now on the left side and ok is on the right side. I keep cancelling when I think I'm pressing ok because I'm used to the other way.
Not that I won't get used to it.
I think the whole launch was beautifully executed, the only thing keeping me from staying on CM9 at the moment is that I cant restore the data from my apps.
The soft keyboard is a pain and I can't figure out how to set a static IP for wifi. Battery percentage doesn't work. I like how the LED notifications are fixed and how haptic feedback is back and working way better. The ROM overall is very fast. I backed up all my apps and contacts/SMS with mybackup pro and everything works perfect! Has anybody figured out how to get visual voicemail working?

Can we get swype to work (does it work now? Why haven't I tried before asking this question smh) ?
i have been running it for an hour and I like it so far but It can't be daily driver at the moment..
Most of my favorite games don't work or freeze (my biggest complaint)
asphalt 6 crashes
blood and glory doesnt work
deadspace doesnt work well due to the multi touch issue
street fighter IV crashes
few lags, but the rom is really smooth
camera recording issue (already noted by cm) and few minor bugs (like showing battery percentage in status bar doesn't show) and a few fc's here and there..
I haven't used the GPS for a while but it fine so far.
The CM team is amazing for the awesome rom (cm7 as well) and I am loving it so far...i am definitely donating
I think this rom is more a beta because it only has a few quirks to work out imo

You don't need swype beta. Just download one of the themed swypes in the apps section and flash it. Just make sure you mount system in CWM and unmount when you're done.

Damn, blazing rom. Special thaks to Genokolar, I wish that he would participate more here in XDA.
This rom is like .35 CM7 done right. Speed is as fast as CM7, when you uncap FPS and batterylife is awesome compared to CM7!
Don't know about call volumes, haven't tried yet, im at the school atm. Will post updated info later.

It has only chinese-supported keyboard which you can change/remove with root explorer/ESExplorer/etc. I live in finland so i got scandinavian keyboard from android market.
The rom has gapps bundled so you don't have to flash them seperately.

You don't care, but others care The problem is that even with the wireless tether the wifi tethering don't works (it's my experience with MIUI ROM) with this ROM we don't know.
I have confirmed that wifi tethering works well like in CM7.
Been using it for the last one hour.

What about the Incall Volume and the Speaker noise (while playing music)?
Any known bugs?
Anyone else experiencing slow WLAN speeds with this ROM? I seem to have this problem with every other 2.3.5. based ROM, WLAN speed drops to 1/10th of the original. Maybe my WIFI router just doesn't like these new ROMS?!

Haven't made any calls yet with the new ROM, but the same low volume noise bug still remains. You hardly notice it, so I wouldn't worry about it (and only happens with the phone's inbuilt speaker which is pretty much a joke for listening music anyways).
Is this ROM's interface similar to MIUI or to CM7? Can anybody post some more screenshots (homescreen, etc.)?

Need Testers for teamEOS crespo4g/crespo 4.1.1.r4 JB roms

Guys,
Whats shakin? Okay I need some testers for JB EOS Rom (4.1.1_r4 base) for Crespo and Crespo4g (I have to build the crepso still). Everything is working in this rom, but Settings/performance. I have to tinker with that tomorrow since this is the first time we are introducing the herring devices to EOS. If you want to check out our site its www.teameos.org. Soloranz and bigrushdog are the main devs and they are just flat out awesome. Just PM me if you want to test it out for me.
Here you go. This is a working Crespo4g rom. http://www.mediafire.com/?b67y9se57tdcbng please try to use the stock kernel. I know Settings/performance FCs. Softkeys will not work, we just need to make sure they dont build for Crepos. This mod was just added in last night. I fixed mms that should work, if it doesnt blame it on Sprint. Just try to get give me some feedback here in the thread.

Tested out few things so far. The following works: 4G/3G, wifi, gps, sending mms
I don't tether so didn't test those.
Receiving MMS did not work.
Overall, the rom is very smooth and responsive. The notification toggles seems a little big (that could be just me). Like the little scrolling at the very top of notification to get to brightness and volume; however, it doesn't work too well because when flicking, sometimes it just registers as changing the volume or brightness depending on where I am. Definitely has potential. Maybe adding lockscreen weather, calender, etc. is for the future, but overall a very good first release.

Thank you. Lets see what happens with the rest of the guys with MMS. Everything is in there that needs to be in there to fix MMS. Sprint has just been flakely with it. As far as flicking on the notifications screen, dont flick on the icons themselves (at the top). You can flick in the blank space on the notification drop down. I can see the Icons not working, they are all for xhdpi, I will resize them for the crespo screens.

[ROM][PORT][2.3.7]Jelly Bread v1|Tiny Anastasia /nAa 14 and JB-06[27-7-13]

bye guys.
one more for me!
Cool rom but it's more like jelly touchwiz bread . I like this new notification area style (without visible status bar). Btw. ICS/JB Task Swithcer Style is not there. It has stock gb swither (for me it looks better).
Ok so here is some things that I've noticed:
Very cool music player
Nice in call layout
Cool screenshot effect
Ugly notifications (for me), it's hard to read them.
Non stock radio - bad, need to turn on bt to make it work.
Brighter screen than normal (something like still turned on ultrabrightness without switcher).
No loop ringtone ???

WARNING BEFORE FLASHING. Please make sure you have a backup or a ROM.zip to flash stored on your phone BEFORE FLASHING this, as downloads are not working neither is USB storage, so if you don't have one of these, the only ways to get back to android would be to sideload a ROM zip or restore stock via fastboot.

I only created this thread to share the link, and I don't think KonstaT will be monitoring this therad, so if you want to report any bugs or have any questions, I would post them on the original modaco thread

I'm happy that Moto G has got something different than the usual...
Thanks to the developer and also thanks to op
Tested on 1033xt dual sim device, base as 1032xt single sim
Works very well (I didn't expected )
As said in op camera doesn't works
Some icons and wallpapers are less resolution which looks pixelated
Since mine was dual sim could not able to make/receive the call though I had network signals showing...

Just saw this posted a few minutes ago at Modaco (meaning I just happened upon it, not that it's only minutes old) and thought "Now this is a damned cool development for the Moto G..." and it is.
Glad to see something going on with it, and I'm still considering the upgraded one with the proper microSD slot next month as well - LTE means nothing much to me since with T-Mobile HSPA+ I get damned fast speed as it is.
But an interesting turn of events to the Moto G community, definitely.
i know this is not the right thread... but anyone working on Firefox os 2.0? tons of features are being added there (and bugs)
