I think I briked the Galaxy tab 2 - Galaxy Tab 2 General

I was trying to root the device so i can get it updated from 2.2
I used Odin and tried recovery.tar file and now I'm getting a screen with a phone icon with a caution icon in the middle and a computer icon after it.
So I think I really messed it up
Any help
the thing is Odin is still connected
and no matter how much i try restarting whether in download mode or regularly same thing is still happening.
So if I can get some help would really appreciate it. I hope it can be restored

Does Odin still see the device? If it does, try to install the stock firmware. It may take some time to find it on the net. The first place I would try is here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3 and scroll down the page, put in your info in the drop down boxes and submit.

Thanks, Odin is still recognizing it
the original firmware was the ATT one
this Tab 2 has the 3G version
when I checked there I didn't see any one that was similar

It is a soft brick and is recoverable. Go to here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=752 and read all the stickies in the general and dev sections. Apparently, you will not find an at&t rom per se, but can flash a new rom and pit, there are some very good detailed instructions available, but first read, and read some more, and some more after that. Apparently, your type of tab had signed bootloader issues, so be careful which rom you load. Also, as I have suggested with my links, go to the correct forum. I'm pretty sure you have a sgh i987, (based on the fact you were running 2.2 on at&t), and not a tab2.

Previous link was to the wiki, this one is to the forum. Many links will be dead and you will have to likely download the euro rom from sammobile. There is also a sticky for radio issues.

Thanks appreciate all the help AMD o just realise I said this forum instead of this link that you had pointed to earlier. So again thank you. I will read through it while on break and again at lunch and try and make sure I do it right. Most the rims I see at sammobile are 4.04 or above those should he ok right?
Again thanks and will let you know. Cause I got this yesterday for my wife. So.....

thanks it stopped coming on I realise I would plug it in it will come on then go back off not sure after how long it goes back off I know I had ti plugged in both via wall and computer.
via computer the computer did pic it up cause it showed drivers being loaded
Now no matter what I'm doing I get a black screen

Ok got it on charging same screen as I told you about before that I attached earlier
I've looked for the ROM suggest Euro but no luck, the links were dead
And while typing those last few words it gone back off, so i'm guessing it can only be on for say 30 mins.
If I can get the ROM and install it via Odin then I can possibly get it restarted
Thanks

Ok, as I suspectef, you have the galaxy tab, not the tab 2, hence this is the wrong forum. Go to the forum I linked to, there are some stickies about rooting, recovery soft brick, etc. My understanding is that overcome rom or p1000 should work, but you must follow whatever odin procedures, etc. they use. Chainfire has a great post up about recovering, however the file links no longer work. Go there and ask if someone has the file(s) you need. This guy lists the files he used from sammobile http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996970 You will not find the files in this forum, this is the wrong forum for your device, this is for tab 2 models 31xx and 51xx, yours is a p1000 branded.

Try charging it for a while, then forcing it into download mode and connecting odin and flashing your original firmware back on. Or use a jig to force it into DL mode if that doesn't work, they're only a few quid on ebay.

This is for the i9100G as it says in the title. If you flashed it on your i9100 I'm pretty sure you are screwed.

Not sure, but it's worth a try.
Yes, I knew this would happen when I saw the thread open up today. The OP should edit the title for noobs so they won't flash this and brick their phone.
This is NOT a ROM for the International or non-G version, and it WILL brick your device. You'll need the service center (or jtag) to get it back if you flash this.
It wont you have briccked your phone, You will need to flash a new Kernal 1st, and even the Jig wont be able to read, as the drivers wont load. this needs deleteing before anyone else does the same thing, Guys!
No, dumb ass morons just need to read the thread title better...

[Q] Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 hard brick

Hi Guys,
I havent used this site in years but recently I bought a Galaxy S4 outright from JBHIFI.
Before you guys give me alot of crap, I have a very bad feeling that I may have hard bricked it.
It doesnt turn on anymore, not even in recovery or download mode. I am very new to android as I was using an iPhone before and couldn't resist attempting to root my phone (stock program were killing my battery)
I hadn't even had the chance to flash a custom rom on there as far as i know i just grated root access.
Funny thing is it was doing the same thing the other day. But randomly it decided to charge and turn on. Now it is definitely not charging or turning on and i have no idea what to do... it just sucks cause i havent ever this phone for a month and its already useless! :crying:
I was using it for about a week after i rooted and now im just stuck with a brick.
Any help would greatly be appreciated, feel free to ask any questions.
Send back t store and thel t workers that just whont turn on.Dhont thel that is rooted or somthing

yeah thats what im planning to do its about exactly a month since i had it today... i just didnt want to mention anything cause i know you guys and moderaters dont condone that kind of behaviour! thanks though, im pretty much screwed arent i? ill be heading into jbhifi on my lunch break will go ahead with that plan haha.
ill tell you guys how it goes.
Have you tried a battery pull?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
sorry... is that just taking the battery out? LOL if so, yes ive tried it quite a few times.
at one stage it was turning on but only loading the splash screen... so i pulled the battery out. even if i tried to start it in recovery mode, it would only load the blue text at the top of the screen and then freeze.
i have a mate who also got an s4 so i was going to meet up with them and see if i could use their battery because it seems the phone has even lost its capability to charge.

No, you don't have to be in download mode. Install right driver, connect your phone to pc and run the program. Then it will be in download mode, so flash firmware with pit file

well so far... i tried this at work and no luck, so i went home and tried it there... still no luck.
you mentioned i need to install the right driver? is that the QHSUSB drivers? (where can i find them and are they specific for the S4) anyway when i plug my phone into the computer there is no indication that it is being detected at all.
just hoping to try out more suggested solutions before i attempt to take it back into the store and have em tell me that my warranty is cooked
Hi just an update.

Thanks for your help everyone

My galaxy S4 is "hard bricked" as well after trying to flash OMEGA ROM onto the device. My guess is that somebody mislabeled the ROM and it was intended for the octal-core processors and not the US quad-core ones.
Does anyone have a link for the qualcomm drivers that are needed? I'm at a loss currently in regards of which direction to take.
Thanks in advance,

i know... its just frustrating... i pretty much got it when it came out and convinced all my mates that it was the best phone out there at the moment (all the features are pretty nifty and its powerful ill admit)
funny thing was the camera was working perfectly before i took it in and didnt even think it needed replacing. the camera worked when i got it back the first time i opened the app but it had smearing (pink vertical lines on bright objects). after that it the app didnt open again and just has the "camera app failed" error.
as for the hardbrick guys i think the qualcomm drivers work but only if you can get your phone to turn on or enter d/l mode. mine was so fried out that it wouldnt show any signs of life even after getting the drivers.

This was also samersh72's suggestion when i bricked mine. Problem is, there was no way for me to acces that qhusb mode thing as the phone was totally dead and doesn't even charge.
Jtag could probably revive it though.
Anyway, sent mine for repairs with
custom binary status and the samsung guys accepted it as there was no way for them to revive the phone(the motherboard was replaced). They didn't found out that it was modified.

As you can see, odin stops at flashing modem... Demo units don't have modem hardware, so you need firmware without modem, or just download a pre rooted firmware, rename it by removing .md5 extension, so you'll have i9505XXXX.tar, open it with 7-zip, delete NON-HLOS.bin and modem.bin and flash it... Or download a 3/4 part firmware and flash it without modem file. I've flashed lots of i9300x and i9505x like this...

WTH? Why would any new person go flash a AOSP rom without knowing how to flash or ODIN back to stock.
There are 2 guides that explain these procedures that even a 6 grader can understand.

I tried KIES will not connect (stuck at connecting...), tried on two different comps and reinstalled usb drivers as well.
I think I may have found a fix, I have the Canadian Rogers version of the s4, they call it the SGH-1337M which is pretty much like a i9505...
reason Odin wouldn't flash is I was trying to use random i9505 firmware. I found a link to a official Rogers 4.2.2 firmware hopefully this works

You know, if everyone wants to get better help, you might want to put what device you have in your user profile, note mine, ATT, you will get more people helping, I know users that won't even help users that don't identify their device.
Half way down on the messages, we have to play the guess game. Gets annoying.
Ax says, just a thought.

[Q] Help! Screen went Black after TWRP reboot

Help! I tried to upgrade to lollipop 5.1 based on a youtube (no links allowed) video through TWRP. After the "Success!" message it prompt me to to press NO or OK, so I touched OK exactly like it said in the video. After this, my screen turned black and it wouldn't boot again. I tried everything! Putting the battery out and in place again, pressing vol. up, start and menu button. Nothing. Vol. down, start and menu, still nothing. I tried to do the same three buttons thing with my phone plugged in and the ODIN program running on my PC. A Glorious Nothing! Keep in mind that my battery was about 50% charged at the time. So, what did I miss?
Please help me! Is my Cellphone bricked for good?
I am using a samsung Galaxy SIII Neo:
Thanks in advance :confused

May be that rom wasn't compatible with neo. I think you have bricked your mobile. Search on google or xda forum "how to un brick s3 neo". And after neo should mention your model number.

Well, I'm pretty sure I used the right rom for my i9301 model. I checked the descriptions carefully. I googled for an answer and it says that I need to have specific tools or a micro usb with less pins or an island in Aigaion Pelagos. I don't know... It's way too difficult for me. I guess that's what you end up with, if you play with fire. Another brick in the wall... But, thank you anyway! Any other suggestions are welcome. I just can't afford a new mobile (How does an old T310 Sony Ericsson sound? Perfect battery life for starters!).

Thanks, but go where? I can't see any links. Maybe you are referring to the the method where you use odin and the original firmware to roll back to the original state? I tried it but with no luck.
The truth is I am not exactly sure if I use the right files! I have the i9301 version that originally came with 4.4.2 kitkat installed. I use Vodafon Gr as a provider (but the phone is from Romania). So, I used this file
I9300IXXUAND1 firmware version for Galaxy S3 Neo (GT-I9300I) from region LYS. Was it the right one? I found this method from forum.gsmhosting and said it was about Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo GT-I9300I Dead Boot Repair..
I'm on the black here...:cyclops:

NO for me
Sooo, I tried every step on the guide, realllly carefully, but NO for me.
I bought a 16 GB 10 class Transcent SD card, formatted it with Panasonic SD formatter (tried with the windows genuine formatter too), tried both FAT32 and NTFS method. Next, I wrote the debrick (128 MB) image (dnld from the link especially for i9301). So, ejected it, put it in the sd card slot, placed the battery and did the three button trick (down vol, power, menu). Pitch black! Tried it many times with no results. What do I do wrong? Everybody else manages to fix it in the end, but I can't. Maybe the problem with mine is something else! But I explained in the first post how it all started. Now I am lost in space!
Is my phone Hard Bricked? Fully Dead? Maybe the guide you posted was for Soft Bricked phones. What did the pal meant to say with this?
"But first please make sure that its Hard Barick (fully dead mean not turning on or nothing works except when u connect to pc it will show qualcomm)"

That means mobile is just dead. No LCD light no charging and no life at all just like yours. I think your mobile is totally dead dude. Otherwise it should be alive.

Guess what! It worked in the morning! So, the mobile needs a nice sleep too! So, everything is okay now. Though, my initial purpose was to install Lollipop 5.1.1 (after rooting, of course) and I was bricked in the middle of the operation.
Now, given that I 'm an insistent, dumb headed POI, I would like to try again, the right way. I would use the same guide, but I don't know what went wrong in the first place. I guess, I 'd have to repeat the same procedure again, if something went wrong but, I don't know... I know that I 'd have probably tired you but, could you propose a method to do so?
Lastly, I want to thank you from the depths of my heart for your patience and your guidance through these days. You 've been truly helpful! :good:

Oh, are you saying that your mobile is alive now? And please don't mention that "help" thing. We are here to help each other. Once i was a new also and i learned so many things here. So, i am just sharing what i have gained from here.
Some times it happens, a little mistake could lead you to a big sorrow. If your mobile is alive now , i am happy for you. And if it is not then i am suggesting you to take it to any repairing shop. May be they can do something about it. And if you still don't get results then keep it with you, it's hardware wouldn't be a waste.
