Hey Devs - Xperia Play General

You guys have been doing really good with developing ROMs and all but, how come you guys haven't considered working on Kexec? Considering that is our only current idea for a bootloader bypass.
If any of you guys agree, then post here and share some ideas.

Might be because there is a way to unlock your phones bootloader. Either via Sony's unlock website or through alejandrossimo for $24. But yeah. I think I saw a thread as a wip for kexec.

That dude gave up. Everyone knows it. The devs could get that complete in days, or a week or two. With how talented most of them are, it can be done. The opportunity of Kexec has been there. Why haven't they been working on it?

I think it won't, why?
We can't read/write to the boot partition when booting. And most devs have a unlocked r800i

That's easy to say. I haven't been working on it Cuz i don't care. You seem to care quite a bit. Apparently more so than any of the developers here. So I would suggest learning and doing it yourself.

It doesn't interest me.
No developer could code before they learned how to. And chances are they learned because they wanted to help themselves instead of relying on others.

This needs popcorn.
Just learn it.

Let's not start a flame war, guys. Kexec isn't as necessary for us as it is for Motorola devices because we actually do have a method for unlocking. Sure, for quite a few of us it actually costs money, but we still have a method. If we didn't, someone would have figured out a way around, but since they didn't need to...

Please produce games devs can someone send me a quote for a simple avoid/collect 2D one screen game with local and internet high score table, I will produce the pixel art. No need for optimization if it's difficult.

I really don't care for your snide remarks, I was just trying to be helpful. For people who have problems rooting their device via ADP, or one click root. So they can take advantage of all the hard work that our devs do for us.
But for future refrence, since this was a horrible/wrong place to post this information, where would you like me to put it? I respond better to people who are more polite.

Honest mistake, no worries. People have just been getting up in arms lately over posts like this. I'm sure people just get tired of repeating the same thing again and again, so it's nothing personal.

No this will not unlock the bootloader. This phone is known for having very tight security and the efuse chip that locks the bootloader. Of course this doesn't unlock the bootloader.;-P

Do you think it will help to pool money together to reward an unlocked bootloader?

Thoughts?
I'd certainly donate.
It's an acer thing...i dont think money will help..
should help if we make a list with people that want to donate for the problem might draw a good crowd...
it might help even more to get enough donations together to buy a device to send to a well known developer. usually where the problem lies is that they do npt have money to go and buy another device since they have already invested in other ones. once a really well know developer gets their hands on the device we have is when big things start to happen. you just gotta find one willing to accept the device and hack it.

Yes, it'd be great to have a custom honeycomb rom especially since the source has not and never will be released (until ice cream sandwich, anyway).
I'd be willing to front some clams for the cause...I'd love a good custom ROM. Thats the whole reason I'm keeping my Gtab even though I got my Acer...I like to tinker with stuff and see what happens.
I was thinking about this myself the other day, but I've heard that XDA frowns on this behavior.

I actually have a slightly damaged but fully functional A500 that I would be willing to borrow out for a few months before I jave to sent it in for the insurance claim. I even posted the offer right up here with rather unenthusiastic replys.
If anyone knows a suitable candidate, my offer stands.

[Q] Mess up the Xperia Arc software that are boot loader locked!!

Can anyone please help us on messing up the xperia arc badly with the software so that we can get a new replacement with an unlocked boot loader ???
Thanks
Don't think that will work. If you are talking about claiming on insurance. They will just flash old phone with new software. I recently posted on the hope I would get a new. Phone. But mine is a genuine claim.... if. Its repairable they will simply repair it as the may or may not do with my phone

Nice stuff, but unless we'll have drivers there will be many bugs...
is not just about new drivers, is a question about how to fix it without source access.
If some things i heard are true, once a device gets ICS, wont be hard of it getting JB on it either.
Edit:
it still a challenge tho, port a SDK system dump, or the GN's. may the Tech Gods watch over us in this quest.(lol)
SDK ports have never worked well. Source codes + proper drivers on the other hand...

I wasn't saying it can't be done, just that it won't run as well as one built from source. But by all means, please do try. If anything, the experience of getting it to run (or not) might help once the sources are out, not to mention the fun in trying.

DSIXDA Android Kitchen Support? Aroma support?

As of yesterday i have officially gotten the Galaxy Note 3 in my hands! With that being said i am now going to start development and try and get an awesome ROM out to you guys! Before i start i must know if DSIXda's android kitchen works with this device. And also if Aroma Installer is supported with this device. Really looking forward to start development and get a few Roms out there for you guys but i gotta know this first. Also feel free to let me know what you would like to see in a ROM, especially what kind of theme. My ROMs do have a history of having some kick a** sound mods in them so do expect that!

well, your reasoning might be good. Is it the Samsung crapware on the bootloader? I am not being funny, it's just that your answer was very brief and I couldn't see whether you had done any dev work on your member profile.
