so: what is a clone? and it's possible to port android on mega with clone os?

Most of the clones are phones that use the same design of other ones from popular companies (like HTC, Samsung, Apple, etc.). I say design because they don't use the same hardware (maybe some one do).
I have looked at the videos and in one of them they say the specs and the processor isn't the same as the HTC Touch 2 so it can't help because we'r stuck in haret.exe. I don't understand of this but in conclusion haret.exe is the boot loader for android and without it we can't run android on the device. As example there are other phones that use the same hardware but processor (even other ones with the same processor) and haret.exe is still crashing.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Let's hope RDilus achieve it. Also the problem with our phone is that it's not popular nor used by people and this is why there are few people interested in it.
Edit: Those are the specs from the clone:
Hot Spots
Dual sim cards dual standby smart phone
Operating system:Windows Mobile 6.5
CPU: MediaTek MT6516 460MHz <----- That's why it won't help.
RAM:128M,ROM:256M,extend to 16 GB max
Built in GPS and support voice navigation
Quadband GSM:850/900/1800/1900 MHZ
WIFI high-speed Internet connectivity
FM radio
Bluetooth A2DP
USB:Mini USB port
3.5mm standard audio output jack
Language:English/Italiano/Spanish/Russian/Chinese
etc.
Also it has accelerometer lol

Rdilus told me the porting is bad...PHONE ****!!!

N95 Faster than my BA !?

Ok now the funny thing is that i've recorded an MP4 video with a Nokia N95 mobile. When i tried to play it , TCPMP reports an Average speed of 64.85% and it cannot play it correctly. However, on the N95, the Realone Player is able to play it at even 150% speed ( fast forward ) and my PDA is not even able to get the 70%. It's a 2.7mbps video with 640x480 resolution @29.987fps. But how come the N95 with an OMAP2420 processor @330MHZ can outperform a PXA263 overclocked !?
your comparision is irrelevant, because you compare phone made back in 2004 and phone made in 2007. A lot in hardware has changed since 2004.
you can try to compare N95 with TyTN II (HTC Kaiser), and you will see that the Nokia is piece of crap

Possibly N95 has hw decoding chip for video for better performace.

N95 has symbian, BA has WM

Okay looked at the Specs on the N95, 5Mp Camera, Built in GPS ... etc etc. This comparison in phones is a useless. The N95 is built up to play media content, its part of its primary selling point (see ramdacBlueAngel's quote). Not a strictly "Cell Phone", just as the BA isn't a strictly "Classic PDA". Both are phones and thats where the comparison ends. Should note, this phone goes for $690 as compared to the BA which goes for about $150. The phone should be compared to phones of the present market.
One things for sure though, I would bet good money the N95 is NOWHERE near as robust as the BA. I bought this phone for instance because it was affordable and upgradable to the newer OS's. The a huge shock comes when I find some angel has made it possible to make this robust phone/ pda WM6 capable. Now thats cool.

In some ways - most notably the keyboard. In other ways, such as the bigger, higher resolution capacitive touch screen, the MUCH faster processor, and the thinner build, the Droid is superior.

Lets cross out the resolution. The touch pro 2 has a 800x480 screen. The droid is only 54pixels bigger. And at the screen size the droid is at that doesn't count for much.

Seriously 480X800 vs 480 x 854 pixels and 3.6 vs 3.7 is not noticeable at all.
Also the Droid has a 550 Mhz processor while the Touch Pro 2 has a 528 Mhz... I hardly consider that superior. Especially with all the issues the Droid has been getting!

I'm assuming you haven't looked into flashing a new rom to your phone, this would significantly improve your phone's performance, as far as adding extras to your phone, after flashing a new rom you could install Window's Marketplace (the install file will come with your rom most likely) and download whatever you want just like the Android Market and Apple's Appstore.
You will first need Hard-SPL, read this thread and take care of that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578660
Next, find a compatible ROM for your device, I would recommend this one:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86491
I don't have a Touch Pro Two, but I have flashed Windows Mobile ROMs for an AT&T Fuze and a Sprint Touch Pro and I know the process is very similar so if you wanna try this and need any help let me know

EnergyROM works really fine on HTC Touch Pro. You can easily find that ROM and test. That of course Windows Mobile but You can also try how Android works. Greetings
android 2.0 is the same as these mentioned ROM's
Not clear on the replies. I have a Sprint touch pro2 and would also like Android 2.0 instad of winmo 6.1
How do I get it

Android is phone specific. You need an android build that supports the touch pro2. 1 Rom doesn't fit all. Its the same for android custom roms and window mobile roms. You can't install a touch pro2 rom on a touch pro.
biggest hw difference = capacitive vs. resistive screen. Not sure which (if any) HTC phones have this obviously superior input capability yet...
droids are suffering from build related issues though. Most notably is a BSOD condition that requires connecting up to the charger to fix (even pulling the battery doesn't help). Also the audio jacks are breaking. Sounds a lot like the TyTN was....

I don't know the exact processor in the Touch Pro 2, but if it is the same 528 processor in the G1, Mytouch, and MoTo Click then the DROID processor is far superior. It is based in a different architecture and actually has a GPU (Separate Graphics processor).
If it is the same 528 processor, then yes the DROID is far superior.

The DROID uses an ARM Cortex A8 based processor (the TI OMAP343) while the Touch Pro 2 (and basically all HTC devices other than the HD2) use the much older and much slower ARM11 processor (Qualcomm MSM72xx). Even though the clock speeds are similar (550 vs 528mhz) you can expect real world performance to be 200-400% improved with the OMAP3, due in part to the new ARM CPU and in part to the much better GPU and DSP.

The bigger point with the screen is capactive vs resistive, which is a VERY big difference.
As for the processor, mhz numbers don't tell the whole story. The HTC phones use a Qualcomm processor based on ARM11, the Droid uses a chip based on Cortex A8 - the A8 is CONSIDERABLY faster than ARM11 at the same clock speed.

Tp2.....hands down
Isnt this topic called Android on TP2????
I dont see any forum that has a topic called WM6.5 on Android.....Not even close.
So whats far more superior?!? A device that can emulate another os and more.
I think with a custom rom on my touch pro 2 is more than sufficient. The droid technology isn't up to its full potential yet. They are obviously headed in the right direction and the cosmetic aspect is enough to attract the average buyer. But for what counts the most I feel like the droid phones are about a quarter of the way up the mountain.
First off, I apologize for the other people's lack of response to the article at hand. As for the other people who did post links to Android on Windows Mobile, those links will not work as Android installations are device specific. Meaning and installation on one device probably wont work well for another.
Also, for those of you who posted instructions on flashing custom ROMs. While this may be a great idea for the time being, an Android installation can be run on basically any ROM. It doesn't matter if it is stripped or if it's the crap stock ROM. Once the Android image boots, it kicks Winmo off, and all processor and virtual memory goes to Android. So it is not an emulation, although it is booted from Winmo.
The Touch Pro 2 falls under the HTC Rhodium category on XDA-Developers, so most of your information on it, including Android ports, would be listed there. I did a quick Google search and found a thread with a bounty to get support for the TP2, so it should only be a matter of time.

HTC Leo Clone = HTC Desire HD

The new HTC Desire HD is now on HTC's website.
It is HD2 copy but with Android.
Nand on the way(?) when these are in XDA forum users hands.
the hardware is the same? I don't think soo :S
Snapdragon 8255 1gz
768MB of RAM
internal storage 1.5gb
and a battery 1230ma
8mpx
ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh I want one, I want one, I want one! or I'll settle for a nice android port.
really wana get a dump of the Desire HD so i can port it to the HD2, all those new widgets and apps, along with new camera app! easy port to be made
the desire hd is too easy to port like EVO....what I means is: EVO = HTC DESIRE HD
really hard to dump
No Hardware is a bit different, it uses a MSM8255 with a die size of 45nm instead of an QSD8250 CPU which die size is 65nm, this msm8255 CPU is based on the same core as the snapdragon QSD8250 of the HD2 and Desire, but will be more energy efficient.
It also features a possibility of 720P recording, probably it will do 720P HD playback as well with hardware acceleration in the CPU.
It features more RAM 786 instead of (unlocked HD2) 576MB. different screen, super LCD and last but not least, an 4GB internal flash drive and some features for faster booting.
Still hope we soon will find a really stable android release which will definitly replace WM6.5..

4GB... are you sure???
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire-3077.php
That says 1.5GB...
Nonetheless, 8mpx, faster loading time, more ram, more nand, blah blah blah, still pretty much = HD2 Android.
I urge everyone to wait for the new CPU man. It's RTM Q4/2010.

The fake HD3 specs could true for some specs like 1Gb Ram Given the new Desire HD got 768mb ram.
Yeah.. Desire HD is Evo 4G...
and the spec is not that much different from HD2... even galaxy S got better spec then it (pity it got the iPhone wanna be looks,, hate it..)
I'll stick to HD2 until there's a big leap in Android phone...

My thoughts too. a fast SD card could will do the trick, besides we'll always be able to use WM at any time.
Until something with a TP2 form factor comes out, I don't think I'm getting a new device. I really miss the keyboard. Resco KB is doing the trick in WM, but it's not like feeling the buttons.
And for God's sake, add some specs. HTC is becoming like Nokia, same hardware in different enclosure every few months.

using my computer knowledge, all these won't affect porting if they use same component for radio/IO/DSP/wireless/bluetooth/GPS...etc
die shrink usually means pin-to-pin compatibility.

[Q] fake or real?

So, here is the thing, i bought my father a phone from one of those chinese imports, at the time i didnt quite check the autenticity of the product, i looked at the price and purchased, well, my father will never figure it out ir its real or not, im just asking out of curiosity
Here is the link of the item i purchased

Sorry, it seems i cant post links, but its sort of necessary for this question
Its funny that even the box looks real, what caught my attention were the sound holes in the back
Anyways, looking for some expert eyes on it, its payed already, im not going to regret my purchase or anything, its just out of curiosity, the link above is filled with imgs of the phone.
Thanks in advance.
By looking at the 6th and 8th pictures (bottom of the phone; open back of the phone) in the description, you can easily tell it's fake. The 3.5mm headphone jack is missing from the bottom of the phone, the hardware Home Button (should be between Call and Start) is missing, and the back of the phone does not have that layout. Heck, the provided battery is 1500mAh, whereas the stock HTC HD2 battery is only 1230mAh.

The internal storage and RAM are pretty low. If I was buying a clone, I'd at least get 1024 storage and 1024 RAM. And preferably the snapdragon CPU.
EDIT: But the key thing to realize is that it will probably NOT work with the standard custom ROMs in these forums; it has different hardware. So whatever you get is what you have for an OS.

Thank you

Short answer, no.
Not only would you need all the correct drivers for wifi, bluetooth, touch, etc..., but if you did happen to have those, your processor works on the x86 platform, and android is made to be used on the ARM architecture. Sorry.
^ Not completely correct. There ARE versions of Android that run on x86 architecture; Acer do some netbooks with an Android/Windows dual install as do other PC manufacturers. OP will have to search for them though, and he WILL have driver issues.
Basically, if OP wanted an Android tablet, then OP should have bought an Android tablet.
Thank you for the answer, I just would like to know.

+1 on the option to install android on a windows device. Although it's not common, it has been known to be accomplished, especially on an HTC device for example, as they have done this to 1 or 2 phones.
The big issue, is to find a dev that has managed to do this. And considering you have a "generic", no name tablet, I suspect there would not be a high interest in this. Especially now, when there are several low cost tablets to exploit, and the release of the source for ICS.
Shouldn't knock a person for buying a windows tab. At least it's a tab And... it ain't an Ipad
Heck, my wife yesterday, said she wanted a new ph for her birthday.... A Mozart 7!!!!!!!!
