[PATCH]German qwertz layout for bluetooth/USB Keyboard v2 - Acer Iconia A500

Hi there,
i worked on the Generic.kcm and added or changed some Letters e.g. Z and Y, Ä, Ü, Ö.... and of course the ^ on the right position. ^^
Tested with Perixx Bluetooth keyboard.
You need root for that!
Instructions:
Option 1:
Flash QWERTZlayout.zip in CWM Recovery
Option 2:
1. Take the Keyboard off or out if it is a USB Keyboard ! important ! (seems if you don't it won't work)
2. Download Generic.kcm.txt and push it. " adb push Generic.kcm.txt /system/usr/keychars/Generic.kcm "
2. Or push it manually with root explorer to /system/usr/keychars/
Therefor you need to rename it to Generic.kcm . The adb command above makes it automaticly.
3. Change Permission to rw-r--r-- see on the picture ! important !
Greetz
Edit:
Updated some Spezial Letters and flashable zip.

first of all... THANKS!
second: the update.zip isnt working (tried right after flashing a kernel..maybe that was the prob but..) because of some mounting errors.
i did it myself via RootExplorer.

When you install the zip alone it should be fine.

Wanted to use this on my A501 with Tegraowners ICS ROM V170 (Android 4.0.4), and it doesnt work. Is there a way to get it working on this? Pushed the file via file manager in /system/usr/keychars.

There should be an option let you choose the voice input method, you must choose one of them to activate it. ^^
Flashed yesterday. Don't have that option :/ (Running Devillain)
Anyone tested this with defrost 2.1?
Looks great! Considering that I somehow lost Voice Search in Navigator, etc. after updating to a rooted, stock HTC Eclair ROM. So my Q is, should this be able to work in Android 2.1?

[solved] Bootanimations- Change impossible in ۵.ReflexTSenseHD v1.7 DHD

Hello:
i tried to change my Bootanimation but with no Luck.
1. i tried to make a "theme" via Online Kitchen; got a file (about 6mb) flashed it via Recovery but Botscreen stayed at white "HTC-Briliant"
2. i tried to manualy delete the bootaniamtion.zip at /data/app/local with androidmate (free)--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10041079&highlight=bootanimation#post10041079
3. i tried to make my own update.zip ( http://www.londatiga.net/it/how-to-create-android-update-zip-package/)
script:
Code:
show_progress 0.1 0
copy_dir PACKAGE:data\app\local data\app\local:
show_progress 0.1 10
4. tried to change the bootimage.zip in NEO's Reflext.Rom by deleting all unneccesary stuf and changing the bootanimation-zip
--> got stuck after Recovery so i had to reflash the whole ROM..
--------------------------------------------
why i'm not able to change this bootanimation ?
can someone provide me a funktional Update-zip for this ROM
(or a HowTo for doing it myself?)
i would like to test these Bootimages:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648555
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905538 (android particle2)
PLEASE Help
EDIT: i also tried via
Terminal Emulator
- Connect your phone to your computer via USB
- Copy the downloaded file to your sdcard
- Disconnect phone from computer
- Open Terminal Emulator on your phone and enter the code below (press enter after every line)
su
cp /sdcard/480x800_AndroidGlow1.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip
reboot
Click to collapse
EDIT:
Try putting it into /system/customize/resource
thats where the bootanimation (and the boot sound..) was located on my desire rom.
tried this but:
1: i found no "resource" folder under /system/customize..
2. after creating this folder and copying bootanimation.zip nothing happens
it seems like NEO put it on a special place in his ROM so i cant't figure out..
Test this route: /system/etc/customer/bootanimation.zip ;-)
System/sd/app/local remplace the bootanimation.zip and reboot.
It worked !!
Thanks ASIER
the System/sd/app/local .. did the trick
why does neo uses this folder-structure.. weird ..
(and also thx to raa_ for his help)
does it make sense if i say, i don't have a /system/sd/app/local folder??? the sd part is nowhere to be found
any idea?
edit. found it on my Desire it was under /system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip
cheers
i think it depends on the ROM you are using!
i use the ReflextSense 1.7 from NEophyte.360
that uses the "unusual" path as postet before.
"normal" Sense ore SenseHD Roms are using different locations as you found out..
it is sad that there's not a standard-path for all roms !

are you sure youre on the system-"partition" ?
i first set the System to Read/Write in SPareparts and afterwards used ESData explorer (in the program you have to enable ROOT funktions..)
--> menu/settingsroot options --> mount filesystem
------
click on the button on the very left (sd-icon) and it should change into a "house"
the path should be a "/"
afterwards choose SYSTEM/SD/APP/Local
in this folder there should be bootanimation.zip, downanimation.zip, shutdown.zip and "placeholder"
hope it helps
I cant find my bootanimation.zip anywhere,Im using insertcoin 1.8f(trying to update to 1.8h with no luck )
this Thread describes Changing BOOTANIMATION in ReflextSense (1.7)
i think insertCoin uses an different Folder for Bootanimation.zip than this rom.
you could try one of these options:
get shure you hav read/write acces to your Root.. (as i described in de Posting before..)
search the "insert coin" thread for Bootanimation.zip
ask in the Thread about the neccesary "Path"
try to download a "change bootanimation" zip from online kitchen or from the forum..
apply the zip via Recovery and if it works !! ... open the zip and analyse the script file (which Path it uses..)
i hope it helps..

I had the right path but was using a software that can't see the folder system/sd/app. I managed to replace the bootanimation.zip with SUFBS. Thank you for your help though.

[BOOTANIMATION] AlchemyDroid v1.0

Hi chaps ,
Here's a little bootanimation i was working on for the Desire.
Here's a preview :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fOI0HOMtak
Caution : You flash this at your own risk! I take no responsibility what happens to your phone! (99.9% it will work )
Note : This has only been tested on the Htc Desire | Samsung Galaxy S | ZTE Blade it is meant for 480x800px (and above) phones...but i think it will work on small resoultion phones as well
* How to instal * (rooted phones!)
1. Download the file (obviously)
2. Put the file on to your SD card
3. Use Root Explorer ( market Link ) or any other phone explorer that allows you to manipulate your rom files.
3. Navigate to where your existing bootanimation is (on Sense it's usually /data/local/ on AOSP it's /system/media)
4. And replace it (overwrite it) Don't forget to make a backup of your current Bootanim.
5. Reboot
* ADB method *
1. Connect your phone with the pc via USB cable and turn on USB debbuging
2. Put the file into your /tools folder where you installed your AndroidSDK)
3. Open CMD (command prompt)
4. Type :
Code:
cd location of your /tools folder (in example) cd c:\androidsdk\tools
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local ([B][U]for SENSE roms)[/U][/B]
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media [B][U](for AOSP roms)[/U][/B]
* Recovery *
1. Put file on your SDcard (no subfolders)
2. Boot into recovery
3. Flash the zip file
4. Reboot
Downlaods :
Code:
* (22.jan) all dll likns are dead,i will re-up then within the week,as well as v1.5
* You can still download it via http://uot.dakra.lt/ :)
If you have any suggestions and/or ideas /etc feel free the post them (no pm's plz)
ENJOY!
Awesome thanks!

Worked great using adb.
Ok guys, final version is here it works like in the preview
Just have to test it on some other phones (just in case) and i'll release it when i get back to my dorm in 2days
cheers
@Ttalk.
Great work, thank you. Works fine.
Just tried it on my desire, very nicely done. Thanks !
Hey.
Using it on my Desire.
Really nice!
If you change the looping sequence so that you see no interruption when starting the loop sequence again it will be perfect.
In the splash screen thread is a perfect splash for the animation btw.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I don't get it, I followed the instructions but when I type in "adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/" it comes up with a message saying "adb is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file".
Someone help...please?
Desire, CM7, 3(UK)
Do you have ADB setup on you pc? see this thread > http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
or http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-adb-and-how-to-install-it-android/
Or just flash it through the Recovery,it's easier.
Looks really cool!
Nice, Thanks!
can you make a matching splash?or even a downanimation?
your work is really nice! :0

[RECOVERY][CWM] ClockworkMod v6.0.1.4 v1 | custom extras menu (10/12/12)

This is a custom version of clockworkmod 6.0.1.4 (latest version available). See the 2nd post for information on what is in the extras menu.
To install:
- download these 2 files -----> uImage.CWM6 & touchpad_recovery_extras.zip
- boot into your current clockworkmod and mount /boot and /sdcard
- plug into your computer and run these commands
Code:
cd {location of folder where 2 files you just downloaded are}
adb push uImage.CWM6 /boot/uImage.CWM6
adb push touchpad_recovery_extras.zip /sdcard/touchpad_recovery_extras.zip
- go to install zip and choose the touchpad_recovery_extras.zip from your sdcard
- reboot and you will see an option in moboot for CWM6
Notes: The icons on the bottom of the recovery are placeholders for when i get the touchscreen working. I'm working on making this a touch recovery like the ones in my signature.
Click to collapse
Whats in the extras menu?
- enable/disable one confirm (this makes it so you only have to scroll through one confirm selection when installing something instead of having to go through 10 of them to click yes)
- hide/show backup & restore progress (this makes it so the progress bar when you backup/restore doesnt show up and makes backups/restores a bit faster since it doesnt have to show you the progress and files its backing up)
- aroma file manager (file explorer - to configure properly: when opened the first time select "no" to use alternative touch. then press the back key or enter key to get past the dot part. that works best for me)
create custom zip (this will create a custom rom from the currently installed files you have on your phone. it takes your /system partition and /boot files and makes them into a zip file ready to be flashed. the end product will be in /sdcard/clockworkmod/zips/{DATE}. with date being a timestamp of the time it was created. be sure to run a fix_permissions after installing the zip too just in case. DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDER /sdcard/clockworkmod/zips/files
choose custom openrecoveryscript (read THIS)
- recovery info (shows the version of recovery and the build date)

Yeah I should have explained that more. You can only have space for 2 recoveries. You can adb pull the original clockworkmod off and save it and push the cwm6
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
If you're not fond of ADB like me,
Open terminal emulator
Grant it super user by typing
su
then hitting enter and select 'allow' when the toast pops up
You should now see the '#' symbol
Now type,
mount -o remount,rw /boot
Then hit enter
Now go to your favorite file manager that goes to the root dir. (I prefer ES File Explorer)
Now copy uimage.CWM6 to /boot
Reboot.

You have to edit android.default.recovery to read CWM6 I don't think ES file explorer allows you to do it but ROM Toolbox pro (free version) does .

1) download jellyblast + 4 OTA + CWM
2) open jellyblast zip ed delete "boot.img"
3) copy rom + 4 ota + CWM inside SD
4) reboot in recovery mode (vol up + home + power) and select CWM.zip
5) Backup your rom via CWM (backup and restore) [REQUIRED STEP! This take some time but you can restore previous rom and all you had before (apps, calls... everithing) in case of problems!]
6) Run " wipe data/factory reset" and " wipe cache partition" ("wipe data/factory reset" delete everithing from your device!)
7) Run "install zip from sdcard" > "choose zip"
8) Select jellyblast rom > "yes"
9) Than "reboot system now"
For ota:
1) Reboot in recovery mode (no need flash CWM again...)
2)Select "apply update"
4) choose first OTA
5) reboot
6) same for other ota (pass 1 to 5)
Install OTA update in number order (OTA 1, OTA 2...)
(Thanks to Roby293)
I tried this steps yesterday.
Full working for me, the rom is very smooth & fast.
Just some force stop to Phone process and PIN Dial pad not working.
Some people say fix this flashing "modem" & "csc" via ODIN.
But i'm not really sure.
Sorry for delay. Hope this help someone else.
Thanks

Full working for me, the rom is very smooth & fast.
Just some force stop to Phone process and PIN Dial pad not working.
Some people say fix this flashing "modem" & "csc" via ODIN.
But i'm not really sure.
Sorry for delay. Hope this help someone else.

I'm having the same problem, and another ones... the customized keys (1 and 2), Backspace and Enter keys doesn't work, the camera can't be used in 3.15MP and most of apps doesn't install, just keep saying "downloading"
for problem with device/hardware keyboard, please copy keylayout and keychars from your stock rom into jellyblast (System/Usr)
dont delete the existing folder in jellyblast, just replace the existing files. the flash the modded jellybean rom again.
your keyboard will be working, overall keyboard function is ok, but i cant get symbol button working yet..
im using this, almost perfect but phone application looks bad because of the landscape view of our phone.
for camera, you can replace it with camera.apk from your stock rom. (system/app folder)
update: just wanna share, cant copy camera from stock rom, becuase stock is odexed. so, to get 3.2mp camera working, i downloaded ported jellyblast rom for galaxy mini pop plus, extracted it,copy camera.apk from system/apps and install on your phone.
suuchi, for 'apps doesnt install' problem, u need to remove a2sd or disable it before flashing the rom.
found today out position sensor not working properly..horizontal calibration wont help
update: got it working already, need to copy sensor file system/bin and system/lib folder from stock rom.

I solved the symbol's problem using an app called 'Game Keyboard'. With the compatibility options the buttons will work properly. Can you upload the camera.apk? Thanks a lot!

Hi! I've been using this rom for 3 days, it works really fast and smooth. I just need to fix the sensor's problem. Can you tell me which files I need to copy? Thanks!

im not sure which sensor file that responsible for screen position, so i just copied all sensor related file ..hehe...
the files are
system/bin
- atx
-memsicd
system/lib
-libacc.so
-libsensorservice.so
-libaccsensorcal.so
-libaccelcal.so
-libaccsensorcaltest.so
what i did was, using the root explorer (setting - mount / and /system as writable is checked) delete all the existing sensor file, then copy paste, because the explorer cannot replace the existing files.
then i set the permission back..to enable 'read write exec' for all user group...
then restart the phone..
you will notice horizontal calibration app wont show the correct position (maybe you need to replace horizontal calibration app also), but your sensor is working by using sensor diagnostic (dial *#0*#)
bro do have any solution for dialer/phone app not displayed correctly?

Wondering if a clockwork back up could get me back the kernel?
zip not opening
brothers whenever i try to install zip fro cwm , it gives error like zip opening failed.
i hv installed the zip package of jelly blast without deleting boot.img nd it didnt give any error while opening zip but after installation i was facing half screen error.
so i m assuming that when i delete boot.img nd re zip the file at that point i m doing some mistake.
is thr some specific zip format or compression ratio which i should have to consider while zipping it?

When you download the Rom zip do not unzip it... Open the rom zip in winrar or 7zip and then delete the boot.img file from the compressed zp

yes you can. if you have backup your stock rom using cmw, you know the combination key to recovery? press vol up + home + power on
then select update zip from sdcard, select cmw.zip -> restore
or you can take out your sdcard copy the correct jellyblast zip, with deleted boot.img. reflash again, bro make sure you have disable/removed a2sd for smooth installation
