About Manila Versions (very noob question)

Hi Guys!
I'm sorry for this surely stupid and noob question.. but I'd like to understand: which is the difference between this Manila 2D and the TouchFLO 3D v2.1.xxxx that come with some new Blackstone cooked ROM?
I have been searching for a lot about Manila 3D and TouchFLO standalone cab releases to install on Blackstone Mario SuperLite ROMs in order to understand the behaviour and the differences ..but I was able only to find a cab of TF3D v1.3.35345.1_1630.38 and none one for TF3D v2.1.xxx.......
Long short story: I have not clearly understand the difference between Manila version releases and (above all) the difference between Manila 2D (TF2D ??) and Manila 3D (TF3D ??).. Is there any kindly expert mind who can explain me, please?
Excuse me again for this noob question.. but I have to recover to much lost time and knowledgement in the WM HTC interface evolution.

i don't think u will be able to find any standalone cab with manila instalation for Touch HD...there are some VGA ports but nothing for WVGA....apparently it's too complex and could be done only by flashing new ROM... at least that is the answer i got some time ago...

I know is quite impossible to find cabs for Manila..
btw this is not the point here: I'd like to know the difference and having some possible answers about Manila version releases..

Date long and add a town

Hello all,
I've been searching for a while, even in this forum, but dont find any solutions concerning these two issues:
1) how can i set the date long (dddd dd mm yy) in the today page? My Diamond 2 runs the original French rom, wm 6.5.
2) I ve found a lot of solutions on the Internet to add a town, but no one works, and most of the time i must hard reset the device. HTC Sense doesnt start again. Softs like Weather Database Editor for example make HTC Sense not working and doesnt even add the town i entered...
If someone knows the right way to do so, i would be grateful

I found this thread (particularly post 2) most helpful and got it working on WinMo 6.5 but it never worked on WinMo 6.1 for me

I confirm it works perfectly with both WM6.1 and WM6.5, just follow the instructions carefully..if you have any problem you can PM me, tell me the city you want to add and I'll make the manila file for you.

Thanks to both of you. I've already tried this method but it didnt work. As i said in my first post, each time i install "Weather Database Editor", it makes my HTC Sense unable to launch. I'll try one more time... but i almost sure i'll must hard-reset...
It would be kind of you Superman122 - sorry, Sualc - if you could make it for me. The town i want to add is Valence, in France, and the AccuWeather code is : EUR|FR|FR022|VALENCE

Advanced Config - Menu - More settings - TouchFLO 3D - Push "ok" for the error - Home page date format - ok - reset...

I made a .cab file so that you don't need to install Weather Database Editor anymore,by the way this may interest everyone..
ATTENTION:Since I have an italian ROM, the modified manila file I'm posting contains country names in italian, if that causes any problem or simply you don't like it, please post your manila file and I'll work on it. You can try the one I posted just for the fun of it but BACKUP your manila file first!

Lugano (CH) and Como (IT) ADDED
The easy way is to install the .cab I posted above and then manually add your cities using SQLLiteAdmin. If you have an italian ROM you can modify the manila file in previous post, you could edit the "Valence" line (if not interested in..) and any another city you're sure you're never go to .
I am being very brief because I assume you read the "official" instructions, if you have any problems,PM me
EDIT: Well, Since It's almost Xmas and I feel Santa Sualc, i modified the manila file for you, but remeber to install AddCityWeather.cab aswell!!(AGAIN: this file is certified to work in an italian ROM, if something goes wrong I will need you ORIGINAL manila file)
P.S: It's really stupid not to put those cities by default, ok they're not enormous cities like Tokio but they are regional Capitals in their respective countries..

Hi koen-ronse and thanks... but i dont find "TouchFLO 3D" in the settings. Are you talking about HTC Diamond 2?

He's not online at the moment, I think I can answer for him:
Advanced config is an application that you have to download and install (google for it), then follow his instructions

Sualc, i didnt want to bother to much, but since you tell me, i post my manila file

I have installed wad 2.5, message2reg and mortscript 4.2 cab but than after I want to install your cab it says that installation was unsuccessful!!
I have tried than soft reset and installing again your cab again, but same error!

I had the same problem on the start ( check post 2 ).
It seems that its need wm6.5.
(Please correct me if wrong).
I have tried many roms with this (about 6) and only those with wm6.5 worked fine.

Which version you use v1.0 , 1.5 Ultra Lite, Clean?

Sorry but the problem comes from your rom, the .cab files works correctly.
Makes hard reset or change your Rom, my theme work on WM6.1 and WM6.5 without any problem:
My tests : Touch HD, Touch HD2, Diamond 2 and Diamond = work correctly

How it is going on with translating ?

Followed instructions perfectly, theme installed no problem, edited the text to english perfectly.
Great theme, enjoyed playing with it thanks!, but not practical for everyday use so back to WM6.5 for me

Who has the right ROM?

I'm looking for a ROM for my Touch HD which includes the following things:
- GERMAN SWYPE! (that's maybe the most important thing)
- WM 6.5 (With the buttons at downside)
I use the "Windows default" Screen (I dunno if it's the right name for it) so I don't need any special type of "HTC Sense" (or similar).
Please help me to find the right ROM!

i think the rom you are loking for doesnt exist here on xda
maybe on a german htc site it exist
as there arent many german chefs i havent seen a german start menu at the bottom
i know andy also uploads on a german site and maybe there he has a startmenu at the bottom
or go here and download a german kitchen and try to make youre own

But I think you misunderstood. I don't want to have a german interface - there's no need for this. All I want to have is swype in German!
I also looked for a German version of Swype but all files I found were removed... at the moment I use EnergyROM and i'm really happy with it - the only thing is swype. It has only a german dictionary.
A friend of mine has a HD2 with his GoaTrip Rom he has German Swype...
Is it possible to use a HD2 ROM on a HD???

You can install Swype with a simple CAB
too many rom's with wm 6.5 to list. You can try.
for example, I use a italian rom with sense buid-in (because i think that it's most stable), but i disabled sense and i use with another today screen.

where can I get that CAB???
Swype is installed with my ROM - the Problem is it's only english - I want to have a German version...

But SWYPE make an error by select names in SMS-PRG.
Better take SlideIT by Dasur.

depends on what you want. If you want the official version of Windows or the slightly less stable but more recent ROM cooked (unofficial) by the users of the forum..
