[Q] Anyone developed this yet? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Wanted to know if anyone has developed an onscreen back, and menu button, my most used.
I used button savior, but was always in the way it seemed, and too many buttons I didn't need.
Curious if anyone is working on this or has a recommendation.
Thanks everyone

really need this, my buttons are going to shiet

Or a program that would make swype gestures perform home button functions

This would be awesome. My back button is a little creaky now.

Ya, my buttons feel loose, but they creak when I press them. Feels like I am messing the phone up physically.
Swype gestures would be the best way I think, a program on that starts on boot.

bump, I believe this could be a popular application

Keyboard

Does anyone else have a problem hiding the keyboard...? Your meant to be able to swipe down to hide it, but this doesn't seem to work on the stock HTC keyboard, am I doing something wrong ?

At anytime you can press and hold the menu button to show or hide the keyboard

i dont understand why the normal sense option to drop the keyboard down isn't present on the wildfire, it's just been replaced by some sort of language button. no amount of poking around in the settings seems to fix it.
This works for me. No problems! Swipes away everytime!

Question about menu button long press

Shouldn't long pressing the menu button launch the keyboard by itself rather than keyboard driven search? I'm not 100% sure buti think I've seen other android phones do it that way.
Anyway it would be useful to have the arrow keys available on arbitrary screens, which isn't currently possible as far as I can tell so I'd love to see this modded in.

Yea I had a thread about this a while ago. It is very annoying, since on my n1 it launched the keyboard itself, but apparently it doesn't here.

soft keys not working

Hey all.
I just got a Galaxy S. the soft keys do not function although i know they're active. I mean they light up and give the haptic feedback too but don't execute.
Is there any app to simulate the menu and back buttons that could reside in notification drawer or launched within an app with double tap of the home button? (like power strip or quickdesk)?
if there's a programmer out there, a lot of people are facing similar issues so please develop something.

First of all, not Q&A.
Secondly, if you just got it, why not bring it back and exchange for a new one?

ix-nay the volume buttons
My biggest pet peeve with this phone (actually my only pet peeve) is the volume keys stick out so much and they annoyingly vibrate whenever theyre pressed. I want to kill the volume keys entirely as I get absolutely no benefit from them.
Ive been thinking about fixing that -- and disabling the volume buttons entirely. I assume its possible and will be trying out the remapping utility later today. I hope it can be done because its really annoying when I have **** in my arms and trying to open a door and my hand or something is pressing against the volume button.
I also thought about shaving down the protruding buttons so they were more flush with the phone but I figured I would try a dis-map.

motorola droid pro xt610 bad soft buttons locations

hello everyone, i thought the PRO was the perfect phone just before i start typing with it, i found the first row at the qwerty keypads are too close to the soft action buttons (menu, home, back, search) , so every time im writing something i actidentaly hit some of these soft buttons and lost all myscreen text ive wrote...
just wondering if there is such app to make these action buttons works as long press them or disable them for good to use for example "SWKey v1.0.9 – Button Savior for Android"
it's very annoying when you have been writing a lot of text and you dissmiss it because this damn phone layout, anyone experiencing similar problems/froustrations?????????
Yeah I had.the same problem at first. But if it makes you feel better, you do get used to it and so it gets easier to avoid the soft buttons over time.
That is of course, assuming you are still new to the pro.
I still do it on occasion, but its become very rare.

Button Savior would be fine with me. I wonder how you disable the stock buttons though. Seems like Google Search is popping up all the time on accident.
