How to access internal storage through PC? - Wildfire General

Hi. When I connect my Wildfire to the PC and mount it as a drive, I have access only to the SD card. How can I browse my phone's internal memory if it's even possible. And, please don't tell me to use ASTRO, as I need to access it from my PC.

Look for "Android Commander"
You need to be rooted though.

how do i search for things on my memory card
So far, haven't found any program that works on our device.
You can access via USB ...but that's just to the storage card

mini sd root directory

whaere on earth would i find that on the memory card
???
If you connect the device through ActiveSync/WMDC, go to My Device - Storage Card
If you connect it in "Disk drive mode", it will appear as a new X: drive on My Computer. The root folder is then X:\
so when you access your memory card thru active sync then you are in the root direcrory, is that what you are saying
That is correct or you can even look at your card using a file explorer on your device

[Q] How to get content onto A7

As you cannot mount the A7 as a device via USB - and therefore cannot use an app like DoubleTwist to sync/move content from PC/Mac to the A7 - how do you get content onto A7?
And if the answer is USB thumb drive, where (and how) do you move music, movies etc to be played from micro SD card?
Many thanks for any advice!
i use andftp for most of my content transfer. if you're syncing b/w pc/mac/android i'd recommend something like dropbox. if you're using usb flash drive, use OI File Manager (or Astro or any other file manager) to transfer from flash drive to internal memory or sd card. usb is mounted as something like /sdcard/usb-disk0 and sd is mounted like /sdcard/sdcard-disk0. on my galaxy s, it's mounted as /sdcard/sd so that mount for the sd card can be confusing. as for double twist, i haven't used it, so i'm not sure where you would place those files.
Go to the market try websharing. This app allows you to access the A7 through your local wireless network to browse and transfer files using port 2112. So install the app, start the app then open your web browser on your PC and type the A7 IP address as such: http://XX.XX.XX.XX:2112
I appreciate the replies. Not knowing anything about Android - as we are an Apple shop - how does the music player 'know' to play content from the micro SD card?
And - where do you copy music, movies to on the microSD?
Many thanks

Thank you for your reply - DoubleTwist is a free of charge almost 100% clone of iTunes

Windows Mobile Phone appear as external HDD

I'm trying to get some accidentally deleted files off of my old (SCH-i760) phone, but it appears as a phone, and not HDD. Though I can browse the files, I cannot use any software to scan it. Is there anything I can do to make it appear as just a plain HDD?
EDIT: Nevermind. I don't know how but I got all the files.
Help too.
I have the same problem i want to know how to mount my internal phone memory as a drive on my pc i cannot find the solution to this anywhere.
Help please
You can't do it.
If it is on a storage card you can connect the card directly in a USB card reader, and mount it as a drive on your PC, but the program and storage memory of the device is another story.
Windows Explorer through Activesync, or Visual Studio's remote file Viewer (ccfilevw.exe), are the only ways to access the storage memory. Both go through Activesync to get to the device, but you do not have the ability to undelete files.

[Q] usb sd card mounting

man i must sound like a real noob but how in the hell can you transfer files from a sd card or usb drive to the iconia they both show in applications tried drive mount they wont mount tried es file explorer see usb drive and sd storage when i open them there isnt anything in them i have clockwork installed and rooted with iconia root i can install other roms if i put sd card in a card reader to tranfer files wont even see in my computer i see storage but nothing in there either any help is appreciated driving me nuts only in xoom rom can i see storage on computer actually shows 2 drives
In file managers you'll find them under /mnt/ The sd is actually under "external_sd" and the usb is something similar like "usb_drive"
If you have been saving things so far they are most likely in the internal storage which is actually mounted as if it's an internal sd card (/sdcard/ or /mnt/internal_sd i think).
