[Q] HTC 7 Trophy with android? - Trophy General

Hello there,
So recently i've found a phone HTC 7 Trophy, and after couple days of using it, i honestly could say that i dont like this WM7, so i wonder, if its possible to install android on it ?
Thanks for answers.

highly unlikely, if you 'found' the phone then turn it in to the police. If you bought the phone and don't like the OS, return it and get another HTC that runs android. (or wait for the MWC event in February for the newly released devices of 2011)
another thing, search before you post, this question was asking in the same section called [Q] android with two replies.

Not possible... and return the phone.

i've just asked about the android, i dont give *REMOVED* your suggestions to bring it to police, so if you are not able to answer correctly, then dont post at all. thanks.

You know by the way that all Windows Phone 7 devices can be found using Windows Live service? So I hope for you that nobody is missing his phone, cause I'd kick your a** if you'd found my phone..

BTW: they DID answer correctly --> they said that it is not possible (at least at the moment)...

Thread closed, and be carefull with your posting.

just getting started

Hi everyone!
Well after 4 years i have finally bought a new phone and im shockingly impressed by it. its a HTC P4000. First time ever owning anything like it.. my old phone could hardly handle txt messaging, and now i can actually ditch my planner!
Im still very new to windows mobile but i come from a linux background and use linux everyday. Im still getting over the initial "i cant believe i bought a windows device" but so far i havent found anything wrong.
I am wondering about the status of the linux kernel... I read somewhere (but now lost page) that it doesnt quite boot up yet for this device?
Anyways just wanted to introduce myself and let the word know ive finally caught up to times... for now lol

Hallo and welcome , although much of what's on this forum will apply to you, you have in fact got a Titan (P4000) not a TyTn (Hermes)

[Q] Dont kill me, Im new here :(

Hi everyone...
Im a little lost in here but, I have some questions...
I buyed an HTC HD2 T8585 (chinese version) and I contact the HTC support and they said that my IMEI and Serial Number is from an HTC Incredible S -.-"
But... in the HTC HD2 software (inside of the phone), I go to "Device Information" and appears another Serial Number, that they confirmed that is HTC HD2, but the IMEI is the same...
The thing is...
Can I have the HTC Sense in this mobile? If no, Can someone help me (step by step) to introduce the WM7 and Android in this?
I have the windows mobile 6.5 and the software is "DUMA.10X.W10.20.P29"...
Note: As I said before, Im new in here, and Im a little lost too... I need some support in here and via chat if possible
DUMA.10X.W10.20.P29 ! I believe this is the firmware used in HTC iPhone chinese copy/clones & is then skinned to look like the devices normal OS.
If I am correct that would explain why your iMEI/serial# are wrong.
If it is the Chinese copy then you will not be able to flash original HD2 ROM to it or use the tools for Android or W7 !
is it dual sim ? if so 100% China junk I am afraid ...
oh gosh...no wp7,android,dual booting, kicking other phones' asses for u then.i would suggest that you buy a used HD2 if you are convinced that yours is fake. But i think it is since theres no way DUMA.10x.W10.20.P29 will appear on the real HD2's bootloader. Does your phone look like this (http://forum.china-iphone.ru/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5495&start=340)?...im not sure how the law is back there, but if you know who you bought it from and you seriously didnt know its fake, you should report it to the officials and to HTC.
As you have a China Clone you need to look elsewhere try these places :

http://translate.googleusercontent....461bea&usg=ALkJrhia4mLlC-eCEgbku66lC10SlLHBBg
Hope it helps
So unlucky then...
in other words...
Big mistake...
I have to sell to someone for 200€... and I will lose 10€...
or I sell it online...
The biggest problem its that I really think that was the original HTC HD2 and I was f*cked by the chinese ppl...
The HTC says that this have origins of france and chinese... so...
I dont know now...
Oh this is bad crack : (
Well, u should seriously report this to the authorities if you know whom you bought it from. They wont be getting a new phone for you,but at least you could charge them and ask for compensation. But still, you should have known better than to buy it from them Chinese before thourougly checking. I mean im not against them in any way. Most of them are good guys, but some just fake everything from a bloody pen to babies these days.
and...
but no1 will try to get an solution or some software to install in that cellphone... I really dont like this one, its too... simple...

It is not just software, the hardware is no match for a genuine HD2 & has no hopes of running real Windows Mobile ROMs, if you bought it from a shop you may consider returning & kicking up a huge fuss or if via online credit card or PayPal you may be able to get refunded !
Best thing you can do is learn from this & do more research on products prior to purchasing, especially for any to good to be true deals from products from China.

You are missing the point, your phone is totally different to ours, different hardware, different software, probably different settings/options, so the chances of us being able to troubleshoot your mms problems are slim, unless you wanna upload a dozen or so screenshots of the various settings menus,, and explain in a lot more detail what you already tried, the facts around the problem(is there an mms data connection configured, can you browse the net, and on and on)

thank you guys!!!

first of all I would like to thank, xda u guys are the best. I have had my hd2 for over a year and boy have I had a trip, never would I thought that a smart phone could do so many things and that's why I'm a lucky one to have such an amazing phone. whether I like it or not I know u guys must move on that"s why you're the best at at what u do. I hate to see this model come to an end, already miui.us is 've doing so, I've had so many problems with my phone and u guys always came out for me I don't know what other phone to buy next, although I'm for the htc one series(I'm a htc guy). I dont know if i'm posting on the right thread is my first post. all I want to say is that it doesnt matter wish phone i select next i will stick with u guys. will u keep the hd2 post? will there be an equal?

Well, there's already a few threads asking basically the same question so you probably should have posted in one of those.
A couple of days ago I would have recommended the One X without a doubt but thanks to this thread I'm not so sure. The OP doesn't say much but there's some interesting discussion in the next couple of pages. I still maintain the One X is probably the best phone out right now, but I guess if you aren't a heavy user and don't need to do things like gaming then you'd be better off buying another cheap HD2 and just carrying on with things. I'm basically going to stick with this phone until it breaks or something happens, then I'm going to probably get whatever's best at that time (never know, might even be a Windows Phone).
hey!! youre right im sorry, did not notice(like I said is my first post). but judging from that post my hd2 is by far the best, I'm just reallistic and I know I shouldnt underestimate the power i have, I love my hd2 in fact I have 3 of them (wife, kid and mines) all running miui.

Warning When Buying a Phone from a Little Chinese Company

Here's what I get buying a phone from a little Chinese company:
Gmail did not work when I first got the phone.
Oppo released a firmware update yesterday, which fixed the Gmail issue.
However, the firmware introduced a new issue: SMS now does not work
Next update will probably break the phone dialer.
I suppose Oppo doesn't think the fundamental essence (phone/sms/email) of a phone is all that important.

That's not fair mate.
I just got mine today, and I like the phone very much.
If there are problems, the oppo team and forum members will get into it.
If you don't like the phone, sell it.
Don't give the people at oppo the blame, they are doing the best they can.
^^ I have to agree.. but my SMS has been working fine and always has :-/

Thanks,if Knite75 doesn't beat you to it and is feeling charitable,I'd appreciate that.
for a company that's as highly regarded for their top end AV equipment.... they'll get it right!
It kind of sounds like you weren't ready for this device anyway, it has been stated OVER AND OVER that the software is still in development and that it isn't perfect yet. However I'm fairly certain that I know what your problem is.
You might have put in the wrong area codes for your contacts, for instance in The Netherlands the number most people would use would be: 06xxxxxxxx instead the Find 5 requires it to be formatted like this: +316xxxxxxxx . It's a hassle but by syncing all of your contacts into google.com/contacts you can edit them within 10 minutes and never have any trouble with it again.
Another thing, try posting these kinds of issues on the OPPO Forums.. They are highly populated and they will help you find a solution for the stock firmware much faster than most of us on XDA could...
Please give your Find 5 to someone who will appreciate it more..
Thank you.
I have over 500 contacts, and most with multiple contact numbers.
I'll see if I can find the time to edit them all to the number format you suggested.
Strange, it was working okay, until the latest firmware update.

I'm guessing your american? In that case you shouldn't use +31 but you should use +1 I believe.
Here is a link that should help: http://www.happyzebra.com/dialing-codes/USA-country-code.php
Awesome, thank you!
Being a phone and all, you would think, Oppo would have the phone and SMS functions all working properly yesh?

I don't know why the phone has a problem discerning which country it should dial I just know it's having some trouble with it.
Might be as easy as writing a base code to change the 0 into the country code the user is currently in.
For international calls you will always have to use the +1/+31 notation.
Works fine here in US, They will get it fixed looked what all they fixed with update number+1.
I probably got my Find 5 well before just about anyone on this forum (devs and beta testers excluded) and since day 1 it's been the best phone I've ever owned/used. Obviously there were problems with the Chinese firmware, but those were quickly resolved. Oppo brings out an update just about every week for this phone. It's fast, slim, beautiful and powerful. And Oppo is a major manufacturer of electronics even in America, albeit for media electronics like bluray players etc. You obviously aren't using Google enough to resolve your problems, and your problems all sound like software related bugs, which can be easily resolved by updating to any official update of the international ROM. Oppo is not to blame.

App development request: gmate+

Greetings!
I have ran out of options and finally decided to take this step, not really sure if it will work but still hoping though that it will. I have come here to ask for help from developers and people with great knowledge in these things. Here is my situation. My friend bought a gmate+ device abroad as a gift for me here in Philippines and unfortunately, this device can only be used in the country it was bought in. After reading things in the manufacturer's site and contacting them (they have a very not-so-satisfying customer service, sorry to mention this), it seems that there really is no cure for my case unless I have it ship back and ask for refund then buy a new one here instead, which is also almost impossible because I do not have the receipt(the item was just given to me without any receipt) and I do not know exactly from which store my friend purchase it(and according to him, he is also unsure from which store exactly because he went shopping for things as gifts not in just a single store or place). So to make the story short, I now have a useless piece of device which could have been really great for my Nexus 7 if only it works. The gmate+ is a device sold by the company Skyroam. This is a bluetooth device which allows an Android or iOS running gadget to have the ability to use GSM service through it via bluetooth pairing and software. I do not know if it is really hard, but I'm thinking ( actually hoping and praying ) that maybe somebody here could do something about my case, perhaps build a workaround via a software. I would really appreciate it if anybody would take time to work on this project. Additional info which may help, if anybody's interested, I'm running the stock update Android 4.3 for the Nexus 7 (2012).
Thanks and more power!
Are you sure that this is related to app development? Can this be changed with an app?

Not 100% sure, but like I said I am really praying and hoping it is. Maybe somebody could think of a workaround or if it's really impossible then at least they'd inform me why.
Thank you so much for the link.

You might need another firmware for the gmate+.
Or someone has to rewrite the Android app.
But to me it seems as if it it needed another firmware.

This is what I'm hoping somebody here could.
The manufacturer's site is up and it has details about the product as well, so the developer could know better about it. I have also found similar gadgets online. They are mostly products that are manufactured in China and have outdated softwares.
