[Q] How to retrive call from hold - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I'm having strange problem with calls on hold. This is Android 2.2 (Desire Z ROM on T-Mobile HD2). Here is my scenario
During Call1, second call (Call2) comes in. I answer Call2 and automatically Call1 goes on hold. Good so far. Once I'm done with Call2, I disconnect Call2. But ... Call1 is still on hold. It does NOT automatically become active. And I do not see any way on "UnHold" it There is red button "End Call" on screen. There is notification about call "on hold" in notification (top) bar. But there is no button, no nothing which could help me RETRIEVE Call1 from hold.
Any ideas ?

Calls on hold can be unholded by pressin the windows flag, the option is there, and to switch between calls, after you are done with call 2 tap on call one and normally you should switch to that call, but either way thats where its located.

Thanks. Used to WM way of handling "Hold" where everything is on screen.

3600i start menu & green call button don't work after a call

Hi All,
I've found a strange little problem with my new HTC 3600i, for a little while (1 or 2 minutes) after a call my start menu doesn't work (no matter if i select from the windows button or clicking the screen via stylus). I've also noted that the Green call button also doesn't work.
This doesn't happy 100% of the time, but often enough to be annoying.
Any suggestions?
TIA

Blank screen while incoming call

Hi, I've the problem with incoming calls. Afer the ring and pressing the green button to answer the screen is turning off (just like standby mode). I can only press on/off switch to see screen again or stop call by pressing the red button, than all is displaying again. It isn't normal, I think, and very unconfortable to get options while a calling is on. Thanks for advices.
It is normal. It prevents you from touching the touch screen by your ear during the call , also saves some energy. If you need for example calendar during the call, you can push on/off button.
I think there is some registry hack which can prevent this behavior.

Light off during a call?

Hi there,
I am a little ticked off with the way the phone switches the light off and you HAVE to press a button to get it back up when in the middle of a call.
Is there any way to keep the phone awake while on a call? Ofcourse, I HAVE tried out "Shake Awake", but thats a little buggy too.
And also, the buttons for Hold, Mute, Speaker mode and all those options come up only when you press the menu button. Is there any alternate dialler available or something which can get all these options on the screen while on the call like the iPhone as its easier to use it than press the button to get the options?
just install keepscreen.
edit: this will keep the screen alive. about the alternative dialer i don't know. but be aware that the phone has no proximity sensor, so you are prone to accidentally press random buttons.
Cool. Will check it out man. Thanks.
I have a different problem - since, sadly, Hero has not got a proximity sensor, I constantly drop my calls by accidently touching the end call button with my cheek. I believe that's a reason the screen backlight goes off so quickly during a call - when the screen is off, it does not react to touch too, so that accident call drops would be less likely.
There are still some serious problems though. First of all, screen timeout during a call is not short nough - while you can know that you must wait a few seconds before you can actually touch the phone with the face, others can't, so call drops are, sadly, unavoidable in such cases. The fact that hold, mute and other buttons are hidden under the menu button is a good thing not only because it keeps Android phillosophy straight, but reduces chances of unwanted misc. actions. The solution of this problem could be an option to disable the end call button, since there are dedicated hardware keys for that.
I have also noticed that if you minimize the dialer during a call with home button, the screen timeout will not be quick, so before continuing a call it's a good idea to bring the dialer back by tapping the hardware call button so the screen timeout becomes quiick again.
Very true. I thought about all these before I posted, but on the other end, I just said 'f it' to myself and asked it here.. hehe.
I wonder if iPhone users have such issues.
As someone in this forum mentioned, it is best to have the screen switched OFF during a call, unless you have something to do. This way, it prevents you from fiddling with the controls.
Not just the hero, earlier models too have this feature. It quite odd in the beginning, but you will love it later.

Click to collapse
Not necessary!
During a call
- Press "Call" to hold (will also mute)
- Press and hold "Call" to activate speaker mode.

[Q] Question about Call settings

My wife's got a flipout, and loves it except for one thing:
When she's in a voice call, sometimes it will randomly hang up (not due to network issues). The only thing I can think of is the touchscreen might be touching her cheek and pressing the hangup button.
My question is--is there a way to disable the screen in call or set it so that only closing the phone will terminate the call? I've searched settings and come up empty.
If you press the lock button (small button) during a call, then the screen becomes inactive. I'm not sure how to do that automatically. Probably possible with the app 'tasker'.

Can't Answer Phone

I allow phone calls when in Do Not Disturb mode. When I get a call, the normal phone screen does not pop up as it always did with any other Android phone I have had (including the S7).. Now I have to long press the home key and then swipe up on my phone icon in order to answer the call. This is ridiculous as it is hard to do when my phone rings at 2 AM (my job requires 24 hour phone calls). Is anyone else having this issue or is it just a bug on my phone?
