Live Wallpaper on wildfire (Froyo) - Wildfire General

Hi
Why don't my wildfire running on Froyo display display the live Wallpaper ?
How do I use live Wallpaper no my machine ?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App

Can look for them in an android-market

I installed them from android market but still they don't work on wildfire.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App

Its because they are not officially supported. You need a custom ROM which supports them, and since you are on official 2.2 release, I guess you cant do anything about it.

Official froyo release conspicuously left live wall paper out of the rom, cause of the hardware limitaion, u can only get it it from wildpuzzle, cm, and sunnab roms

CM save me from froyo. lol
Thanks a lot...

i'm using CyanogenMod 6.1.0 (Stable) for HTC Buzz (Wildfire) || Nightlies now up (2.2.1 - AOSP - no Sense) by HCDR.Jacob... i still aint getting live wallpapers!!
Any reasons why??
ty

I don't use that ROM personally so I wouldn't now but a simple easy little search in the thread for that ROM gave the following answer. Many times. Maybe you should read/search that thread first...

You are referring to the Sense UI. You must choose a rom that keeps the Sense UI that the Eris comes with.
The Sense-able or Evil Eris roms are ideal, but the Senseless and Cyanogen roms do not include it.
This is the fundamental debate on roms - Sense or No-Sense...

Whoa partner, slow your roll with the hash comments. No need for negativity toward the hard work done by some great devs!
Plus, you are missing the point. The many helpful devs posting above ^ have stated that you cannot install the Sense components onto a non Sense based rom. It just won't happen...
Okay, I apologize if I have offended anyone with my "blue" comment, but personally I enjoy the natural green glow of the android.
Okay, thanks for the clarification. I just wish there was somehow a ROM with everything I want.

there are alot of good sense based roms out there...you just need to use one of those ....and if you are not fond of the colors ...try using a theme to change it up....
but definitely try not to bash someones hard work over something like choice of color.....
other sense based roms (that i can think of right now)
senseable
evil eris
aloysius (very themeable)
kaoslegendary
ivans official
ZenExp (very nice build)
and more ...
I have used a few of these for long periods of time

[Q] How would one test his app on sense UI?

I have a stock N1 and my app seems to work fine on there..
But when the first person downloaded the app he said it failed on the EVO which is most likely running sense UI.
So it is a matter of trying to find someone with a sense ui phone and asking them to test?
or

Maybe some of you who are kind and willing to help can test the app for me. Without leaving comments or ratings unless it works

POSTED FROM MY BOMB A$$ HTC ARIA!!!!!!!!
I just tested it on a Desire running Froyo and Sense and it works fine.
It's true that the market filters apps, mainly based on the capabilities your app requests. For example, if your app requests access to GPS services, it will not appear in the market for anyone using a phone without GPS.
Check your app manifest.

Thank you very much, maybe i should limit it to medium sized screens only for now.
Tested on EVO running a 2.2 sense rom. I didn't really mess around with it too thoroughly as I have no need for such an app, but figured I'd give it a quick try out to give you some feedback as far as sense goes and it seems to be working fine

[Q] HTC Wildfire S

I have just seen some wildfire s movies and the point is:
it's runneing gingerbread and it has a flip clock.
My question is: If the htc wildfire s has nearly the same things as the normal wildfire.
Can we (if the wildfire s is released) port gingerbread from the s version to ours.
Or will there be an update with the new sense and gingerbread.
Please could someone that know something about it say something to me, please.
And my second question is: Can someone already put the new sense in a rom.
I hope someone really know something about it.

It is not nearly the same. It is totally different. And, to get the new Sense, the code has to be released by HTC. Till that, there wont be a GB Sense Enabled ROM for the Wildfire.
Also, I am pretty sure with the release of the S, HTC will not conveniently forget the original Wildfire and probably not release any updates for it. Its basically an EOL Product now. Its the way the industry works.
After some monthes on the market every mobile phone is EOL. You are right!

If you really want gingerbread on wildfire, you can try Cyanogen 7. There is no htc sense with cyanogen though.

Its more like the aria or gratia (what is the point of that - considering the wildfire s is better) or legend or salsa than the wildfire (they are all the same phone in a different box with a different rom)

This is a question to alex, I think that you know more about it.
So is it possible to port htc sense to cm7.
And so yes:How can I do it on my own.

edit ment normal sense.
It is possible to get the Gingerbread update but no way it would get the new Sense.

Why not.
I mean can not one app ported to a aosp rom?
Simply because HTC apps require a framework that AOSP ROMS do not have as it is power consuming and is slow.

Sadly the HTC framework is not compatible with AOSP ROMS at the ROMS have to support it. Your english is fine, don't worry!

As djdevine2 stated above, porting Sense would be very hard or even impossible. Sense is like a bug that crawls really deep inside the Android OS. Eliminating is it hard, I imagine introducing it would be also very, very hard.
And not to mention the possible Legal issues that could appear
maybe there is hope
It has also been rumored that the HTC Wildfire will receive the recently released 2.3 Gingerbread update.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Wildfire
This is just a rumor, but there is still hope.
Doesn't look so. If you look at the citation on that particular line, and, read that thread in another forum, there is nothing there to state that HTC has said anything about 2.3 on Wildfire. It is simply a speculative thread, and, points to CM7 for 2.3 on Wildfire.
"You can have your doubts about when your phone maker will finally get around to delivering an Android 2.3 update (March if you're with HTC, June if Samsung, 2017 if you're unfortunate enough to own a Sony Ericsson), but the smartphone dev community doesn't work that slowly. The guys who build custom ROMs just for the sheer pride of it have already begun work on delivering Gingerbread to owners of HTC's EVO 4G, Droid Eris, and Wildfire."

Roms roms and some more roms

It would be really nice for people to know what roms are most popular. If a person asks which is the best rom people tear him down with 'Its personal choice. No one rom is perfect. Try on ur own and so on'
Here I ask u to feel free to post the rom you are currently using so that people like me get an idea.

LOL, i tried it in my dad's p500 with Stock ROM 2.2 and it doesn't work, but in the preview it does. So it has something to do with the Froyo.
If you like you can try it in Resurrection 2.2 ROM (It's like a stock with some tweaks).
Or move to Gingerbread or any other ROM.
If you move, I'll suggest GingerSnap for 2.3, IcySnap for 4.0 and any CM for 10, 10.1, 10.2 or
CM 11 by Hephappy and mukusolini.
Hope it'll help you.
