[Q] Kernel won't update HD2. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi, I'm running superram v1.5 with everything working great. I upgraded from an old darkstone rom that came with the phone when i bought it. I installed the superram, but the kernel included is not showing up in the settings>kernel. It's showing an old one, and my battery can go from fully charged to dead in 6 hours or less. I was on the phone for an hour last night, speaker phone, with the display on, and only lost 7% of battery. When I try to manually update the kernel I do have the phone in winmo mode because i don't have a micro sd card adapter. Is this my problem? I am doing a reboot before starting android and the kernel still won't update. Can someone please help?
*6 hours or less in standby that is.

What did you do, step by step, to change kernels?

radio:1.09.25.14
Is that radio version recommended for that rom? Perhaps you need to update it.
I had the newest radio version on when i first notice the weird behaviour.
Flashed bac to the shipped rom to see if it was the rom i was using got the same results

[Q] Randomly Decides to Not Boot Android Now?

Hi,
I have been running android on my hd2 since development got started. I normally do no post, but just read and try and conquer my problems by troubleshooting and what not.
What the problem is, is that my android build 'mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.8' with the hastarin 7.1 kernel will not even make it past its boot screen. It just freezes and has the orange led at the top on the phone on. What confuses the hell out of me is that fact that i have been running this build for some time now with no problems what so ever. It just randomly started happening after my phone died, then after i charged it up for a short while it would not make it into android.
I had the 2.08.50 radio (i have no idea if that is relevant or not but i did see in another post where someone had this problem and they were told to update to 2.14.50 radio.) But after updating it is still not getting passed the android boot up screen. I have even tried just starting with a fresh build but after it sits on the boot screen for around a minute then windows mobile stick together screen comes up.
So honestly i have no idea where to take this from here, and any tips or things to do that would get it booting up again would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! Problem with LINUX DX( SIM card doesn't work)
I have got one problem. I have installed GingerDX v018 and I'm realy happy. My battery when I first time install v018 stay for 4-5 days. Because: 1.Clean abttery stats. 2.Turn off 'Allow mock locations'. [unconfirmed] 3.Freeze unused services 4.Download from market Brightness widget and I change brightness to 5%. 5.Turn off WiFi,GPS,Bluetooth and I install just Brightness app and Advanced task killer. But when I install about 10 apps my battery became very bad. And I saw that the Facebook start without myself soo I unistalled them and I install SEESMIC and it's helped. I saw the second option for drain battery: Full wipe, reinstall GingerDX
Use stock GingerDX for several days to see battery problem is caused by GingerDX or not
If it isn't drain, try installing one of your apps, test battery for 1 day, install another one, and test
and so on...
But i've got one big fu**ing problem. I unlock my bootloader and flash LinuxDX v04. All apps and diferent things work but my SIM card doesn't work. Soo I put my SIM card to my old phone SE S500i and my SIM work fine and I use my S500i for one week. Than I pissed because I can't use my x8 without SIM card so I go time back instalation. First I flash 2.1 C.... custom firmware but my SIM card not work and than I RELOCK MY BOOTLOADER and my SIM started to work but the BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THAT I CAN'T HAVE INSTALLED CUSTOM KERNEL LINUX DX because my SIM card doesn't work because I have unlocked bootloader without unlock loader I can't flash linux DX. Does anybody Know how can I use Linux DX with work SIM card. Thanks for all XDA developers the ginger dx version is the best!!!

[Q] CM or MIUI won't boot original Froyo works fine

Hello,
I had to put my phone to repair because it died completely. Today I got my phone back, they replaced the battery and main PCB.
Before the repair I used CM7 on the phone without any problems. I also installed CM7 on another 3 Defys of my friends, so I pretty much know what am I doing.
The problem I have is that if I flash CM7 (any version - 7.1, 7.2RC, nightly) or MIUI, the phone stays in an endless restarting loop. Sometimes it even boots up completely and then restarts again.
The strange thing is that if I flash back the original ROM (jrdnem_u3_3.4.2_179-002) the phone works without any problems.
Do you have any idea what might be wrong or what should I try?

Try wiping data/cache before and after flashing CM/MIUI.
I know its not necessary and u r following the right process. Sometimes these things just do the trick.
I tried that, unfortunately it didn't help. I don't know what can be wrong with the phone. Maybe the overclocking from 800 MHz to 1 GHz causes the problem.
Do you know if I can disable it somehow? Or is there another 2.3 ROM which I could try?

[Q] Weird Battery Problem! U8800 Pro

Hi,
The problem is that the phone always stays at 0% charging. The phone immediately shutdown if disconnected from the charger. And, it doesn't boot up without charger. The weirdness is that the TWRP Recovery works just fine even without the charger. I got the battery replaced with a brand new one. So, its clearly not a problem with the battery itself. I am on KitKat 4.4.4 Rom. Should i try to install official rom? Any guess what it could be?
Thanks!
It seems you are on a custom ROM. Have you tried other custom ROM? If other custom ROM loads that means your ROM is too big for your phone, and you need to set your phone to increase the ROM space for ROM
