Boot your HD2 into Windows Mobile, plug it into your PC via USB, and choose for 'LiveSync'. Download these files belonging to OzDroid WinMo ROM. Extract the files from the download with software like 7zip. Download the CustomRUU.7z attached to this post and extract it to the same directory. Run CustomRUU.exe and follow the directions. Be patient.. Done!

Thanks for your explanation, but still I need a windows ROM for installing Android

There is no android "ROM" for hd2's yet. For now, it runs on the sdcard, you still needs windows mobile for the initial boot. (I believe that's what your asking, anyways)

I understand your confusion but please take the time to carefully read the thread i just linked to. OzDroid ROM is a Windows mobile ROM. It even includes an optional bootloader to automatically load Android.

[Q] How to find a simple and precise procedure to install Android 2.2 on HD2 ?

Hello !
I found here a lot of informations about the developpement of many roms for Android 2.2 on HD2. But as you guess, i'm not specialized in mobile developpement, so i'm a bit lost in this huge amount of informations ...
I simply try to find a simple and concise procedure to install android 2.2 on HD2 (wm 6.5 is installed at the moment).
Must i strictly use the loader Haret ? Android can be loaded only in dual boot ?
Which roms must i choose ? Why is there many roms ?
Is there still major known bug ?
Best Regards
theres a damn guide thread on the first post of this section as well as on the first page of android development section...
theres no simple way of doing it ... every one has his own journey ... think of it as a graduate thesis , but there are some guides for your aid i wish u luck and fortitude on ur way

[GUIDE] Newbies Step by Step Guide in booting ANDROID for HD2
Thanks because i start the instructions and at first
"NOTE: If you have Vista or Windows 7, update WMDC to v6.1 *HERE* first"
the programs fails to install on Win7 64bits ultimate offical
Second attempt : RAPI.dll is missing ...
ok need the 64bits version : Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 Driver for Windows Vista (for win7 of course )
just a question after falshing the rom ...
a) i took the Parad0XUA_Experimental as suggested here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732380
b) plus the Elegancia MaxSense WITHOUT HTC Messaging (i guess i could send message with another interface ?)
how i install the Parad0XUA_Experimental ? it works with Haret which is a sort of bootloader isn't it ? is there a better alternative ?
what are the avantage/disavantages of installing the build on phone or sdcard ?
The rom must be installed too on the phone memory or the sdcard ?
Thank you for your kindfull help
ok so i finally test the
- New Froyo build by dan1j3l V1 that my win 7 don't recognize when i plugin the phone
- Miri_Steve0007_EleganciaMaxSense_V5.0_FINAL_NoHTCMessaging
that is a sort of skin but not an OS as i expected. The RUU file patched the windows mobile 6.5 OS instead of the android one ... while i was in an active sync session.
is there an Android 2.2 ROM that works well, for which i could connect to my PC ??
Has somebody tested the FroyoStone Sense - Version 3.1 (29-September-2010) ?
Regards

Tinkering with the phone isn't for everyone. From your posts you may fall into that category of 'don't do it.'
The thread you are referencing has hundreds of posts of people that are and have been using it.

Yo mini !
I'm gonna try your solution just to try. Just 2 last question :
why elegancia update my win mobile os(on phone memory) instead of Android one (on sd card). I've just run the CustomRUU.exe file from win7 with active sync enabled ...
is there a way to avoid the Haret process and to simply replace the win mobile os ? How can i check if it's ok for Europe Mobile ?
p.s. : i use Radio Leo 2.15.50.14
FroyoStone Sense - Version 3.1 (29-September-2010) seems to be ok

rename the .exe to .zip and extract
then you will find your .nbh's
one is RUU_signed.nbh and the other is SPL_signed.nbh
Sorry what i mean is from my hd 7 already found RUU and the ROM it's in the bootloader right?so how do we extract it from our device and convert it to custom like ansar ,cotulla and the rest.Seems interesting to hack or develop like them.

you can't get a rom from a wp7 phone (like you could with wm phones)
I also still don't understand what you want , al the rom's ansar has are just stock rom's.
as I see ansar only replace imfgs.bin from other stock roms so that you have different radio/spl
the only stock roms that can be modded as of now are pre/nodo roms (we have no tools to mod mango roms)
thats way ansar rom's need to be updated to mango AFTER flash.
actually i was thinking how do they create the custom rom that's all.
Book marked....

HTC HD2 - Changing to Android. Pls Help

Hi,
I have just purchased a new HTC HD2 on T-Mobile (U.K.) and I am loving it !
I am a total novice and wish to change from Windows 6.5 to the better latest Android OS.
Can anyone please tell me how to do this? I have no idea what I am doing and do not want to do something which may jeopardise the phone (I do know that it does affect the warranty) The only thing I know about 'Flash' it flashing my mobile in public.
I would really like if someone can give me Step by Step instructions via a video so I can see what I am doing.
Any feedback would be really appreciated.
Many thanks

Don't rush anything. Make sure you have a good idea about what you're doing and what you can do if things go wrong. If you're unsure about anything just use the search feature first and if you're still iffy about something, ask a question.

I think you are making this harder than it needs to be. Just follow the instructions given to you in your previously started thread about the same thing. The link to MSkip gives you detailed instructions on how to install Android on your HD2 and how to revert back to WM6.5 if you so desire.

Google is your friend. Haven't used it in a while. If you are that unsure of flashing Android to your HD2 just buy an Android powered phone. Sorry to be so brash but just follow the instructions.

I'll try to explain a bit. First off you've got to install the things that let you install Android in the first place (HSPL, MAGLDR, CWM etc) and after that you install a ROM. A ROM is the thing that will decide what version of Android you phone will have. If you don't like the ROM you have, or if you just want the newest version of Android, all you have to do is change it. You don't have to re-install everything again, just your ROM.
You might have to change your CWM partition size when you choose a new ROM, but the chef (person who made the ROM) will let you know what size you need in the thread. This is also easy and doesn't require you to re-install everything. Don't worry if you don't know what a CWM partition is because it'll make sense eventually.

Unable to boot Android using haret on HTC Leo

Hi
Using HTC Leo with Windows 6.5 from US T mobile.
Was able to boot to Android twice using Haret.exe. Booting into Android had pattern lock (which was never set previously) or google account (no one used Android on the device). Removed the battery and booted into Windows 6.5, not sure of the Android version copied on the device.
Am now unable to boot into Android again, it stops at jumping to kernel... need to remove battery to boot into Windows.
Am a novice and need your detailed expert assistance.
Appreciate your guidance.
Rgds..
Zac
Hi Zac, welcome to the forum.
Did you buy the device with an android build on the sdcard? Else how do you not know which android rom is on it?
What is the folder name which has haret.exe in it and what other files are in that folder?

My cousin used it in USA and gave it when visiting. He never made any changes on the device - did not even know Android folder existed. I was browsing through the CD card contents and found it.
It is on my Storage card under Android folder- has CLRCAD and HARET exe files.
Thanks
i would forget about using that android folder and either choose another one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/hd2-android/sd-dev
or choose to install a rom using NativeSD method, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986437
or perhaps get rid of wm6.5 altogether and install android or wp7
best of luck

a working link to which particular rom?
we have an unwritten rule that says do not ask "what is the best rom" since that is a personal choice. So i won't just give you a link to my fav(s)
some links are old and not working, if i have the rom on my hdd i can usually upload a mirror for it, or someone else might if requested to in the thread, unless the OP (original poster/post) of the rom thread specifically states "no mirrors". It is usually worth searching the thread for "mirror" and reading the last few pages, as someone may well have already posted a mirror.
