Japan Locale available? - Desire Themes and Apps

I'm fairly new to the android circle so please forgive me if I'm missing something obvious.
My phone did not come with the Japanese locale and i want to install it. I have seen many language packs on the market but nothing for Japanese. Not even sure if it's the same thing. I am quite sure a Japanese Locale is available as it is in the 2.1 SDK. How would i go about getting it on my phone?
Thanks

What you need exactly? If you need the keyboard input, search for OpenWnn plus, it provides you the ability to input Japanese text. If you need the locale language, I think it is the ROM providing that (I also not very sure).

need japanese ui?
so, please install morelocale2 on the market
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

I recommand you Simeji if you need a Japanese imput software, it's quite easy to use, and provides different keyboad layers...
if you need japanese UI, i can't help you but i'm pretty sure you can find some japanese rom on the web.

For the ui I would recommend MoreLocale2 from the market like zafy said. My parents use it for Chinese and it's great. I have also taken the time to look through the Japanese locale just to make sure it's all good as some users on the market are saying that theres some English bits left over. I can confirm that it works great on Official Froyo HTC Sense ROM 1.0c. The sense ui is also translated.
Hope that helps

looking for WM6.0 JAP IME file or other way for japanese input

Hail all here first.I'm new to join the X1 family(Traditional chinese rom version).
I'm very satisfied about X1 until now,the last thing I wish to do is install a native microsoft japanese IME on it.Because install the chinese IME and japanese IME at same thime will get serious program conflict, and I don't wish to use 3rd party ime like CEStar...
Since I used to use chinese and japanese IME at the same time in my XP desktop, so I really wish to have this to be done on my X1...then it is really perfect.
So...anyone have a PURE japanese IME cab to use for it?I don't need font(chinese version rom can show japanese correctly) and other input method, only the files needed for japanese input method.I heard that change the default SIP to english can avoid the conflict of 2 IME,is this correct?Or anyone know any better way to disslove this problem, please tell me how to do.Thanks!
You can find the ime on this link http://hn801.hkes.com/Data/blog/WM5_IME.htm
Please tell me if you succeed installing on the Xperia.
I would like to know why you don't want Ce-star?
I am thinking about buying an xperia and want to use it as a jissho, but I don't know if it is possible.
Strob, maybe my solution applies to you...
I have a HTC Gene WM6 running an EPWING dic viewer, and it works wonderfully! I effectively search (in my japanese classes, almost everyday) through 1gb of dictionaries, most of then found freely in the web. I don't know if it will work on Xperia, but it will, probably. I also use JWPce for text editing from the time that I didn't have the proper IME. Try it!
JWPce: http://www.physics.ucla.edu/~grosenth/c_main.html#PPC
EPWing Viewers: http://maximilky.hp.infoseek.co.jp/viewers.htm
You can PM me to further explanations ;D
Good luck!
I have the CAB. file working with my X1. No problems whatsoever. I send emails a lot to my sister-in-law in Japan. Let me know if you want this file or not...Alohas for now.
I'd like this file, DoubleVision19.

Dual language rom for HD2

I was wondering where I can find a rom with both English and Chinese languages included. Or even an English rom with Chinese viewing and handwriting input support.
Most other phones have the ability to change the system language anytime I want, but the HTC HD2 only come in one language and one language only. So if anyone knows where I can find something like, please do share =)

Dual main language for Windows Mobile phones certainly sounds like a nice idea, havenĀ“t seen this either...
But, there seem to be quite a few custom ROMs offering you English as main language and with Chinese support...
Just search the ROM thread here in the forum, you will find this, this, this, and maybe even this...

[Q] Keyboard Languages

I would like to know what keyboard languages are built in to the Fascinate? I hope it's not like the Droid2 which only offers English and Spanish out of the box... I need French too!
Edit: I figured out it only comes with English and Spanish by default... Bummer. I know there is an app on the Marketplace called "MoreLocale 2" which is supposed to allow unlocking additional languages. I wonder if it works well on the Fascinate. If anyone has already tried I would love to know the result!

[Q] Installing Russian locale

HI! My Aria only has English, French, and Spanish. I want to be able to type in Russian as well. A guy here at work has an HTC with Verizon, and he has lots of language choices. How do you add languages to the Aria?? I tried a third party app but it didn't work. I would like Russian. Thanks!
You need an "input method" that supports keyboard layout switching. The stock Sense keyboard that comes with Aria doesn't allow for that.
But there is a whole bunch of multi-lingual keyboard apps in the market; some a free, and some are not. I like Smartk Keyboard Pro. It costs 2 EUR, but it's the best out there. It After installing it you'll need to download Russian keyboard layout for it, which is free.
Try to search "MoreLocale" in market.

[Q] How to get Japanese menus on (official) 2.2.1?

I would like to be able to change the UI of Android 2.2.1 to Japanese and I can't find any hints on that. Tbh, I'm quite disappointed that Android doesn't support at least all the language including input methods the iPhone does since day 1 (2007).
I found a method to have Japanese text input and it works, more or less. But I want to give the phone to my girlfriend and thereforce a Japanese UI would be perfect.
Any chance on that? It has to be possible to do it manually from getting the specific files off a Japanese ROM maybe? The Japanese HTC Magic equivalent hasn't been officially updated since 1.6, which sucks....
I would be willing to flash a custom ROM if it supports multilanguage out of the box, but I'm fairly new to this Android stuff. So please bear with me.
