Configure the Volume-Buttons as replacement for the 4-Way-Key? - HD Mini General

Hi there,
i'm searching for the possibility to configure the Volume-Buttons into the "down" and "up"-Keys from older HTC Smartphones.
I've tried different tools, (e.g. VolDpad, Vito Button Mapper, AEBPlus) but nothing could be used. There is no useable key in the buttonconfiguration from Windows Mobile.
What could i do?
Greetings from Germany.

+1
I need the same.

same for me

no ideas? please

yes it is possible!
use PQz:
http://www.nicque.com/PQz/PQzII.htm
Thanks a lot ! it helped me a lot, but I regret that the icon of this application is static on the top menu bar. So I removed the icon from the top menu bar (using the software setup) but there is no way for me to access again the setup except if I remove the software from the registry and re-install it again.
Also, it doesn't make the phone buttons configurable for other applications like games (wich was done, for exemple, by the hack for the re-assignement of the backlight button).
On the other side, this software allows me to launch any software (wich is very good) using the phone buttons, and the size of it is only 180k. And for this size, there are many other functions possible.
So thanks again !
if you have installed pqz by cab you'll find in an program files subdirectory a program called PQzII_Setup.exe if you run this you are enabled to reconfigure it. if you have installed it using a zip file you'll find this file in the samefolder as the PQzII.exe.
I'm gonna try this, thanks again !!!

Trinity, Garmin QUE: is button 4 missing?

Hi all:
This is my 1st post, 1st of all many thanks to all, and especially to FAMAN and his great spanish ROMS:
Question:
Has the trinity the button 3 & 4 that existed on previous PDA (running WM 2003)?
Im trying to reasgin those buttons on "garmin Que" but only button 1 & 2 (voice call & cammera) can be used, the "soft keys" do not react as buttons 3 & 4.
Is there any registry hack to solve that?
best r.

I got the same problem. I'm surfing around the wiki to see if anyone else has already the same pbm.
Regards,
x jagudo:
You can use AEBPlus
http://ae.inc.ru/aebplusdownload.php
it is able to remap the softkeys to "virtual button 2" and "virtual button 3"
I'm still trying to find a fix using registry

ssMaHo on Topaz

Hi!
Has someone tried out the ssMaHo application for remapping buttons and stuff in TouchFlo3D? Some people are complaining about incompatibilities with the topaz device. Can anyone please confirm or disprove the compatibility?
One of the most interesting things is if it's possible to remap the add new appointment button in the calendar tab to e.g. ThumbCal.
Regards,
PK
I am one of the people who has tried it. It didn't work for me. The developer doesn't have a Topaz device, so can't test it thoroughly. He has used it successfully on a Topaz-based ROM for the HD. I see other people apparently using it on the HD without trouble.
Can anyone confirm this? SSMaHo can be found here. I've tried v.0.0.4.0 on a NL ROM.
I tried it also on the dutch stock rom. It doesn't work. I would really like to change the new appointment application. It is stupid that almost everything else is finger friendly except new appointment, new message etc...
There are not so much buttons to remap but I use AE Button Plus v2.6.3 and it works fine.
But AE Button Plus is not freeware, and I'm pretty sure it won't be able to "see" if the same softbutton is running under a specific TouchFlo tab, in order to trigger the effect when a specific tab is selected and do nothing otherwise.
I tried to use SSMaHo 0.0.4.0 on a Rhodium based HD cooked ROM, and the process works well, but can only remap the 2 Home softbuttons (for which I don't need a program, as one can do it easily by tweaking the register).
It just does nothing on any other tabs' buttons, so after reading what you wrote, I suppose it just doesn't work for Manila 2.x... Too bad.
I've used it on my Topaz to remap the alarm section of the clock to launch Spb Time. Not tried anything else though..

Missing possibilty to change software buttons

Hello all,
have removed SPB shell yesterday (no support for real vga) and want to get my device running again in the former way. However, it seems to me, that I've lost the possibility to change the software buttons
Who can help ? Is there something to be done in the registry ?
My device is a 7510 with Michylight 6.1 - therefore also 7500/7501 users are welcoome to answer.

You no longer have Settings>Personal>Buttons?
You can try using AE Button Plus: http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php
I still have settings\personal\buttons but there is only an opportunity to assign programs to the hardware buttons. I want to do it for the software-buttons displayed onscreen.

The SoftKeyAppletEx application is a control panel applet that allows to change the applications linked to the softkeys that you find on the today screen.

RemapSoftkeys allows you to modify the softkey allocation on the Today screen. It only modifies registry entries, so you don't need to keep it installed after you set your new values !

KeySwop is a simple tool for you to remap the softkeys on the today screen.

hope this helps looks like the 1st one would be the best one though
Thanks so far - will test the applications.
Have to reinstall the ROM on my device, seems that ther got more corrupted during SPB de-install. Today my radio didn't work any more...
Let's see whether I get my device running again.

Getting access to Control Panel applets

Hey folks,
New pretty much stock T-Mo HD2. Customized with some tweaks/cabs found in XDA, but stock ROM.
The overlay Sense program restricts access to much of what was in Control Panel - like Owner info, and HW button configuration.
How do I get access to these areas? I've installed twaked the registry key for the Owner info - but it's not available in any of the other Settings areas...
I really need both items: Owner info, and HW Button config.
Help? Searched XDA for hours today - no find.
Thanks!

BsB Tweaks has switches to give access to both owner info and the standard windows settings (HW buttons, etc). I haven't used it on an HD2 yet, but many others have, it should get you access to what you need.
It's just a simple list of "on-off" switches, you'll see what you're looking for once you run it.
Hey - thanks!
I actually just found both in the Settings area, Menu command, All Settings.
However, the only configurable button in this area is the Send button. I'd like to map one of the other 4... Any known tweaks?

I'm afraid I don't...there's a great button remapper for the TouchPro2, but I don't believe it'll work on the HD2. I'm sure there's a way, I just don't know what it is
